My experience was great for gynecomastia surgery, no complaints whatsoever and the Doc Elliott Jacobs is a very nice caring person. I'm writing this review really in response to all these ridiculous ones about the service dog I just came across when looking up the Doc's info for someone. First of all it's terrible behavior to spam negative reviews of a doctor when you haven't even used them for services so all you friends of this person should be ashamed of yourselves (and hope the doctor doesn't sue you). Guess it hasn't occurred to you that he might be allergic to dogs and so can't see patients who insist on bringing a dog into close proximity with him. You all come off like easily offended SJW snowflakes, either don't bring the dog or just go find another doctor to do business with, you all sound petty and ridiculous.

Dr. Jacobs is a great surgeon. I came in for gynecomastia surgery about a year ago. He was nice and professional, he explained how the procedure would go, and additionally explained pre and post operational procedures. His surgical coordinator “Cathy” is also very nice and answered all of my questions and was very patient. My surgery came out great. I advise to anyone getting surgery listen to all the instructions from your doctor before and after surgery.

Never even got to see the doctor. The receptionist told me I would be turned away because of my service dog and when I asked to discuss it with the doctor, the office manager came to the front to tell me that it's the doctor's right to choose not to meet with any patients who have service dogs, regardless of what the federal law may have to say about accessibility for individuals with disabilities. If you're disabled, don't bother - you'll be laughed at, ignored, and turned away. Luckily, I've filed a DOJ complaint and a complaint with the state medical board. Hopefully soon the high-and-mighty doctor who thinks he's above the law will know better than to blatantly violate the rights of his disabled patients.

After extensive reading about the different doctors available, I decided to reach out to Dr. Jacobs. He has been extremely understanding without passing judgement since the very beginning. Everything was explained clearly, the surgery went flawlessly, and the recovery was nearly painless. 6 months after surgery, I couldn't be happier with the results. I have very little scarring and whatever is there is basically unnoticeable. This summer was the first time I've taken off my shirt in public in about 10+ years. I arrived with time to fill out my paperwork and Kathy at the front desk was wonderful. She had me in on schedule. Dr Jacobs is pleasant and asked a lot of questions in his thorough evaluation. I was then treated with a numbing cream and asked to wait the 15 minutes to have it take effect. Next Dr Jacobs took me back and injected a syringe of Juvederm. He reminded me to watch for bumps and gave me a gel ice pack. Kathy gave me another as I headed out. All were professional and it was a great experience. I would definitely suggest Dr Jacobs for your filler needs. I am starting to really look fabulous!!! I didn't have any swelling or bruising. It was great experience!

Could not have asked for a better experience with Dr. Jacobs and his staff. Everyone I interacted with was polite, friendly, and eager to help me however possible. Phone calls and emails were always returned promptly, any questions I had were answered fully, and there were no tricks. An incredibly trans friendly doctor, who made me feel understood and comfortable from start to finish. At 18 I decided to take the next step in my transition and finally get top surgery. Dr. Jacobs' minimal scar technique was exactly what I was searching for and the results are flawless. He took into account my pectus excavatum and explained that this could not be fixed (which was expected) my only worries was how natural the results would look. In the end there was no need for worry, 4 weeks after surgery I was on the beach shirtless and swimming, nobody looked at me twice. Might I state that Dr. Jacobs and staff were the most courteous, efficient and proficient I have found. I went in for an elective 3 hour surgery and left feeling like a new person. My time spent with him was very pleasant and to the point but don’t let that discourage you from asking him any questions or bringing up your concerns because trust me, Dr. Jacobs is more than willing to sit down with you and help you step by step of the way. And if by any chance after the appointment you may have any questions or concerns in regards to your procedure, payment, prescriptions, appointments, etc then his staff will be more than delighted to answer the phone and help out whichever way they can. My procedure went smoothly without any problems and the twilight sleep used (anesthesia) does wonders when it comes down to waking up and going about your day (which I advise against, just rest on your first day lol) but you could go out if you needed lol… which goes to show you how my experience during recovery went but after surgery you’re immediately followed up by both Dr. Jacobs and his staff and they stay in contact with you up until you’re cleared. He’s a surgeon who’s been doing this for years and his team has been by his side throughout his journey/career, he’s seen it all but he treats every case individually as if it were his first and for that reason I couldn’t recommend him enough. His staff is ultra professional and I highly recommend him. It is difficult in the Upper East Side to find a good surgeon who also is approachable and makes you feel comfortable. Initially I went in for breast implants and have remained a patient for the botox and fillers. Researching surgeons to perform gender affirming top surgery comes with all the typical concerns about the surgeon’s experience as well as managing expectations. Gender affirming top surgery heaps on top of those concerns additional questions like “Will I be safe here and will I be treated with respect?” or “Will the surgeon and office be comfortable with trans people?” and finally, “Do they have experience with and will they work with folks all along the binary, from butch, gender non-conforming to FTM?” Working with Dr. Jacobs, Cathy Corrigan, his surgical administrator and Christine as well as his wonderful anesthesiologist and surgical nurses was an absolute joy! I was treated with respect and compassion. I could tell right away that Dr. Jacobs not only knew about trans issues, but was passionate about lending his 30+ years of skills to help people like us out. Though we spoke about why I was seeking surgery and what my goals were, I never had to justify myself to him. I also appreciated that he saw the top surgery he was to perform on me as unique to my body type. All along the process, he has seen me in the office for multiple follow-up visits as well as responded promptly to my emailed questions. While the practice does not take insurance up-front, Cathy Corrigan helped me negotiate reimbursement from my health insurance company. The actual surgery and recovery were trouble-free. As for the results, I couldn’t be more pleased — Dr. Jacobs created a chest that looks natural and as if I always looked liked this. I couldn’t be more grateful.

Dr Jacobs and his staff were amazing, Cathy the Drs assistant and the receptionist, Christina were awesome. We were mostly early and they took us in right away but a few times parking problems were a issue and no problem from them. I was a cancer patient and had developed gynecomastia and I was so embarrassed to even seek treatment. He was so comforting and easy to talk to. He explained the procedure and answered all my questions. The photos were intimidating but he assured me no face photos would be anywhere. With PTSD and multiple surgeries from 9/11 I was nervous. He showed up day of surgery went through everything again and answered more questions. He was reassuring and confident which put me at ease. The scars are pretty much invisible around my nipples and my sides. True professional along with his staff...they scheduled the hospital took care of payments and pre and post op. For any guys out there with the same issue he didn’t judge and made my visits very comfortable. My pain went beyond what we expected but he clearly state pre op that it varies person by person and I am cancer survivor with diabetes but was very happy with the results and barely no scars. I would recommend him to anyone.

Don't go here if you're disabled! My friend was illegal discriminated against and turned away from a consult just because of their service dog which is a violation of ADA and NY state law. I would never trust a doctor that discriminates against disabled people. I can't believe he is still in business. He ruined mine and my sister's body. We both have lumps all over our belly. My breast lift was lopsided and he made my nipples strangely huge and an unnatural dark, brown. I have gone to several doctors to fix it and they all were shocked but said they could make my breasts better but that he was too aggressive and that caused the lumps. When we complained to the office they said it was out fault because we didn't follow up. Going to him is my biggest regret.

I went to 2 consultations for Gynecomastia surgery this year (2019). The first one charged me $100 cash payment for a consultation by a Doctor that I do no remember. It was fast and inhumane and spent more time paying than the consultation itself. I then went to see Dr. Jacobs who scheduled a consultation (for free) through his admin Cathy. As soon as I went in, I felt relaxed and not embarrassed of my condition. Dr Jacobs first greeted me with his big big smile, and made me feel at ease. Dr Jacobs walked me through the process, what to expect, how long it would take and guided me with generic but important information. The procedure was scheduled a few weeks later and followed up with several months of free check ups. He then finished by providing pictures of Pre -surgery and Post surgery, which you can clearly tell the difference. Due to the great work by Dr Jacobs, I now do not feel uncomfortable with myself. Something I should have done many years ago. I would highly recommend anyone to go and talk to Dr Jacobs, and I am sure he will give you hist best natural advice on how to move forward.

His office is clean with a friendly office staff, and he is very prompt with appointment times. Naturally I was wary to go through with the procedure, but Dr Jacobs gave me all the time I needed to reassure me and answer any questions I had. Although the cost was hefty, Dr Jacobs enrolled me in a payment plan which made payment feasible. Dr. Jacobs is a top-notch surgeon. I have no complaints from the beginning of the procedure to present day. I still go to receive kenalog injections for my hypertrophic scars and he is always available. I wouldn't trust anyone to give me those shots since he was the one who did the surgery, makes sense for him to be the one to administer the injections because too much kenalog can make the scars concave. I respect his expertise and recommend anyone with gynecomastia to get a consultation to see that he really is the real deal.

Not satisfied at all with my gynecomastia surgery. My chest is not at the same level, the left side is bigger then the right side. The doctor promised me before the surgery that he will remove the fatty tissue from underneath the armpits as well, but he never did. The nipples are still puffy.

Things became worse when a doctor put me on Clomid in the hope to raise my testosterone levels. I never thought that plastic surgery could help me since I thought that plastic surgery is only for vain people who want to look beautiful, but one day I realized that my belief was wrong and that plastic surgery can be an amazing solution to correct serious physical problems and make people regain self confidence and self esteem. I made my own research online and I realized that Dr. Elliot Jacobs is the number one expert in surgical correction of gynecomastia. He has operated on thousands of men, developed his own surgical technique, created specialized tools for aggressive liposuction and removal of breast tissue, and devised a smooth recovery strategy that does not require drainage. I made an appointment with Dr. Jacobs and immediately knew I was in the right hands. He encouraged me to interview other doctors but I told him that I had already done my research and I did not have any intention to even meet other doctors. Perhaps he is more expensive than other doctors, but since I wanted to heal from a disfiguring condition, I realized that it did not make sense to save money with a cheaper and less experienced doctor, who would perhaps correct the problem only partially or cause some other type of disfigurement. Dr. Jacobs cares a lot about his patients and understands the psychological pain they endure as a result of their disfigurements. Dr. Jacobs' staff is also very compassionate and respectful, and never once did I feel embarrassed to discuss my condition with his secretary or nurse. Dr. Jacobs is not only a doctor but, I can say, an artist and sculptor. At the end of the surgery, he showed me that he had removed about a pound and a half of breast tissue and fat from my chest! My nipples were also shaved in order to reduce their projection. I followed Dr. Jacobs' recovery directions scrupulously and, in spite of the large amount of tissue he removed, the skin of my chest retracted completely, and seamlessly adhered to the underlying muscle tissue. I cannot believe my own eyes: when I flex my pecs I can now see my chest muscles' striations. A small amount of scar tissue developed under the right nipple and Dr. Jacobs reduced it with some injections of a drug called Kenalog. This drug must be injected with care since it could erode muscle tissue and even the skin, but Dr. Jacobs skillfully injected only in the scar tissue and no other tissue was affected. I got so enthusiastic and self-confident about such a great improvement in my body that I started working out intensively. At the age of 45, I have the body of a 21 year-old man. To my surprise, a lot of guys at the gym, who have no idea about the gynecomastia that had once affected me and the surgery I had to undergo to eliminate it, now come to me to congratulate me on my body shape saying things like, "Your chest is your best body part." I can honestly say that my chest looks perfect. There are no visible scars, no asymmetries, and no traces of breast tissue or fat. My chest looks better than if I had never had gynecomastia and surgically corrected it! I could not be happier for the results of this surgery. I only regret that I waited ten years to go to Dr. Jacobs. I am very grateful to Dr. Jacobs. He literally saved my life from poor self esteem, insecurity, and lack of confidence in myself.

They are all very receptive and helpful in organizing your procedure and will do their best to answer any question. As for the surgery, I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon than Dr. Jacobs. He took his time to thoroughly explain to me what was going to happen throughout the entire process which included pre-op, surgery, and post op. Surgery was about as smooth as it can get. Dr. Jacobs skills are without a doubt top class. Recovery has been going well and pretty much pain free. I am incredibly pleased by the results of my gynecomastia surgery and am happy to finally be able to wear white shirts again.

I did a gynecomastia surgery around 2 years and wanted to review now because the results have been incredible. I had to live with gynecomastia my whole life, which meant I couldn't go to beach, no changing in the locker room, etc. It was my first time under the knife, but the doctor was reassuring and the staff was friendly which made it better. I suffered from Hematoma one day after the surgery (it's a risk associated with any surgery), but the doctor was available on the phone over the weekend, and he booked me for a follow-on surgery first thing the week after to extract the excess blood. 2 years after the surgery, my chest couldn't look any better, I also lift a lot at the gym. But I have to say I couldn't be anymore proud of my chest. sometimes I take it for granted and it's really hard to imagine my life if I haven't done this surgery. Thank you Doctor!

I guess I'll start at the beginning. but first dr jacobs is THE BEST surgeon to go to for gynocomastia PERIOD. I went in 4/17 for consult, it was quik and very informative and no pressure. I was scheduled for surgery at the end of April. problem was when it was time I got sick due to allergies and even still I still wanted to do the surgery. dr jacobs advised against it and i reschedule for 5/17. on surgery day I was ready but nervous. dr jacobs and his staff calmed me and before you know it I was lights out. woke up in the recovery room and from then on the recovery process has been textbook. dr jacobs provided me with a step by step sheet and also follow-up appointments everything was smooth and to be honest I never write reviews I be too lazy but this experience was LIFE CHANGING and for those who still suffer within from gynocomastia there is hope and that hope goes by the name dr jacobs
