At this moment this business receives a score of 3.8 out of 5 and the score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is quite high, and it is based on a very large number of opinions, so we can say that the assessment is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their score when they've done well, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Plastic Surgery is classified in the category of Children's hospital.
10 stars - the best personal
very rude doctor, very unprofessional,it takes forever before they make action,if you have an option to the other hospital you better go there.
Have taken our both sons with flu and other issues over past few years and had nothing BUT best experiences, despite every time paying for parking $15-$30 and waiting 3h-7h. Totally understand that it doesn't works on first come first serve basis and children are placed in wait lines according to their emergency needs/condition. Despite all that we always got best service - staff very polite, professional, caring and performed best to their abilities. People should understand that sometimes there are some kids inside or arrive later who need immediate attention and the rest of us with also sick kiddos gotta wait a bit longer, it might be very upsetting, but I guess I don't mind waiting couple of hours longer and pay few $ more for parking if that means helping saving someone's life.
Waited months for an appt and drove six hours to be dismissed and mistreated. The doctor ignored our concerns and symptoms.
Perfect hospital.
Words can’t even describe how amazing this place is. Many hospitals can learn from what B.C. children’s is doing. Their entire approach is based around the importance and involvement of family and the support it brings children in their recoveries. The entire staff and medical professionals at this facility have big hearts and they show it every step of the way. Not to mention the hospital has amazing volunteering staff who aim to help you in whatever way they can. On behalf of our 13 month old baby girl Brielle and my wife Chantelle. Thank you for the extra effort, extra care and extra love you showed our family. Scott -
For those struggling with an Eating Disorder, I would NOT recommend BCCH inpatient eating disorders program to anyone. I am absolutely traumatized from this place and i would advise anyone whos considering sending their child here to try some place else as this place will do more harm than good. the only part of this program that i found was a bit helpful through the many months of being there would be the nurses as they did genuinely care for our well-being, but other than that i truly do NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Excellent staff here that takes care of babies and children with needs. One of the best if not the best place to be when it comes to moving nurturing and caring for babies and children. Our baby boy came down with something and was rushed to the hospital. And the medical team of nurses and doctors did everything they could to comfort and diagnose properly what might be causing our son his pain and suffering. We stayed at the hospital and was transferred to the ICU eventually where the care in that department was top notch. BC Children's Hospital one of the best for taking care of needs of children. I recommend them wholeheartedly for the caring and living environment for children and babies to receive the best care they can on their time of suffering. I don't usually give five stars. But this has to be as close to perfect as can be on this side of eternity. Love the staff here. And they took care of our baby boy extremely well. Both me and my wife are appreciative of the work they do here which is why we are giving it five stars here on Google! For anything with respect to babies and children and their health. BC Children's Hospital is the right place to be.
We came to Emergency with our little one with light arm injury. It was Tuesday around 4pm and after reading some horror-reviews here we were expecting to wait 5-7 hours BUT! When we entered emergency, there were NO patients at all, just two friendly receptionists, both available. They registered us and sent to "turtle bay". There was one kid (with parents) when we arrived, and few more came during next 20 minutes. Nurse showed up in about 30 minutes and inspected our kid, she was very friendly and sounded competent. Another 15 minutes later they got us to the medical room, where we waited another 45 minutes before doc came. He was quick but nice and informative, and we finished in 10 minutes. So we spent less than 2 hours, there were no crowds of ppl, staff was attentive and friendly. Again, ours injury was light and we first went to local walk-in but they referred us to this hospital. I'd still recommend to only go there in more serious situations.
Best hospital in B.C. very appreciate for all the staffs in children hospital. They work very hard.
A state of the art architecture itself and we feel blessed Vancouver has one of a kind full facility children hospital. We were mesmerized by the breathtaking landscapes, the hospital building and greenery all around the hospital. There was quite a wait in the ER but the doctors and nurses were extremely professional.
We waited for 5 hours to see a doctor, the doctor was not a good person. She didn’t care about my health. We ended but staying for 10 hours got no closure. At this point I could’ve died but the doctors just wanted to sleep. So I ended up …
I once waited for 11 hours after my x-ray for my operation. I've broken my arm and I can't believe it !!!!! But the staff and doctors, nurses were so nice to me and the hospital looks ok. I am putting 5 stars because the doctors have saved my life ever since I was a child and I can't wait to see the new children's hospital open.
I took my two month old baby brother here because he developed a "rash" so severe that all the skin on his bottom fell off causing bad bleeding and peeling, it was just raw skin. His "rash" was misdiagnosed for a yeast infection and was given steroid creams which caused his skin to fall off immediately. You can imagine what excrutiating pain he was in. His rash turned out to be a strep infection. Well I brought him to VCH and because he was a new born they told me that I would get in right away. Well within the hour we were in a room but then proceeded to wait 5.5 hours for anyone to come check on him. I sat there crying with my little brother as he tossed, turned and screamed from the pain. I requested a doctor 7 times and by the 8th time when I had lost my mind and started to yell. They finally sent in a doctor. The doctor stood outside our room and mocked me, while going off about how a lot of people had to wait and then when she finally came in to treat him she looks at his bottom and goes oh wow - that is pretty bad. I'm going to get some students in here because they haven't seen one this severe before and proceeded to show them while he cried and then after the students left, she put vaseline on him and gave us a prescription for the appropriate medication. Never in my life have I lost my faith in hospital so bad. I am happy to say that he is better and healthy but we really need to do something about these hospitals.
thy are so nice
The new building is super fancy inside.
Changed my cousin's life.
Beautiful hospital with advanced medical equipment and caring staff!
I really enjoy and appreciate the doctors and nurses at B.C Children's hospital. They helped my family to be a family. My baby girl was born a micro-preemie. Of 25 weeker if it wasn't for the wonderful Doctors & Nurses our Miracle baby girl wouldn't be here. I strongly recommend this hospital????????
Such great staff.
My daughter was very sick and I waited for 7 hours just to see a doctor
More then 5 hours waiting!!!! How is that possible???
Many hours waiting always the same.
The staff at BCCH are some of the best in the country. The ER can sometimes be a long wait because parents are bringing their kids in for things that are not actually emergencies. This causes a backlog and the children are triaged according to severity of illness, so if you’ve been waiting 7 hours to see a Dr, it’s probably because you’re at the bottom of the danger flagpole and should have gone to a clinic instead. That being said, I have never had a negative experience with either of my children the times I had to bring them in. The nurses and Drs are incredibly compassionate and professional and went over every detail of symptoms etc with a fine tooth comb in order to provide us with an accurate diagnosis and care plan. I Would absolutely recommend bringing your child here should the need arise.
They giving really good care to my little girl in the nicu
I use to like the service in children's hospital! But today, I changed my mind. when I called to ask some questions, the agent talk unfriendly and just hang off my calls when I was talking! I wish I could know who is her and I definitely guarantee she doesn't have a kid!
Very Tribble Staff And Bad Service do not recommend
Beat service friendly staff
I have been threatened yesterday for not able to reschedule my son’s dental surgery by the Children’s Dental Office, otherwise they will take my son’s name off the waiting list. Also forced to stay on the phone to confirm the surgery and went through with them for the instructions during my busy working hour, because they refused to call me back in 5 minuets. As of today Jan 16th 2018, the confirmed surgery check in supposed to be at 12:45pm but the dental office called me and said they were way behind and weren’t able to do it!!! I know this kind of thing happens so I put my best foot forward to cancel the surgery, just hope other families will have good health and better luck. Sincerely
Recently had to take my son here. Relatively quick in take process and he was given his own room while a great nurse looked after him. The doctors were great - explained everything well and laid out what they were looking for and how they were going to rule out his infection. Volunteers brought him a popsicle while he watched TV. All in all can’t ask for a better experience when the little guy is sick. They even had curb side valet parking at very reasonable rates - and at the parking guy even delivered my keys to the ER room and let me paid there at the end of their day since I was by myself looking after him. Overall 1st class experience. Wish they would have a rapid strep throat test though - So kids can get quickly diagnosed if they need antibiotics or not.
Security lady who was working at emergency entrance on November 4 around 5pm was extremely rude and should not be working in a place where parents are bringing their sick or injured children to if she can't speak to anyone like a decent …
if it is child related, this is the place. they really know how to deal with little kids.
My son had a procedure done at the Teck Acute Care Centre. We received outstanding care from the moment we entered the hospital. The nurses were kind & attentive . The doctor performing the procedure was excellent. My son was made to feel comfortable & at ease.
Nurses here are amazing, very helpful and supportive.
Children emergency but your children will die before doctor come

Spent five fours in there because I thought I had a broken arm. I could’ve been sent home in 10 minutes. After waiting 5 hours they gave me a sling and sent me home. I only got 7 hours of sleep that night.
Once kid is admitted care is amazing. But people dealing with public in the waiting area are definitely not prepared to deal with public. When I ask a rough estimate of waiting time they look cranky as if I'm asking the answer to life universe and everything. Message to hospital staff: no matter how many different people ask that question, you have no right to be tired of that type of question. Every individual is a different one and we can not read everyone else mind. We just want to have an idea if we'll be waiting 30 minutes or 5 hours so we can plan ahead of what to do and not be in the dark. When we are here, remember we are because of the health of our most precious loves, our kids, we did not choose to be in a ER waiting room, sometimes we stare at our kids for 12 hours looking at his suffer hoping that they get better so we don't need to take them to ER, until we call 811 and they tell us to not wait at home and go straight to hospital k in the other hand you DID choose your career, so please, be patient and treat patents like human beings.
Dr. Riley and his staff literally saved my child's life. They are absolutely dedicated to making children's lives better. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to infiniti !
This is the richest emergency hospital in vancouver, they will make you wait for 5 hours then another 4 hours when they take you to the room..so when you get here, you should pay for 24hrs parking..its sad because they have only 1-2 doctors on duty “for childrens” that hoping to go home early and take some rest...unbelievable hospital for children..
saved me from my cracked skull
A wonderful hospital filled with dedicated staff and volunteers who are committed to easing the stress and panic associated with a scary hospital visit for both the parents.
I support Children's Hospital. The only thing I'm upset about is that my granddaughter was getting better. Then they transferred her to Richmond Hospital where they, the nurses are not caring and almost killed her, code red from giving …
Surgery for daughter went well and care was excellent. She was bumped for an emergency but rescheduled asap.
Best I have ever been treated in! great doctors and nurses! AMAZING care! and they double check for possible problems. I love them and they deserve a 5 star rating
Great service...thanks for helping my grandson with removal of his brain tumor. He is back to normal...
The doctors are amazing and the kids just keep smiling.
i was born here
Amazing staff with great support and wonderful service. You are awesome and we are very grateful.
This place is awesome
It sucks if you need to go to this hospital since it means something is wrong with your kid, but you're going to get the best care in (probably) the world. The doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, etc. here are nothing short of amazing.
Thanks for the staff who is hardworking during this difficult period!
Worst service see in my life waiting 10 hours and after they said you are no 6 in line up they treat people like animals don't waste there your time
Don't listen to the negativity. Great staff, great support and great doctors. They have been swamped as is since the pandemic, cut them some slack. They took great care of my newborn. The nurses were very sweet.
this place has had great service to me before but is absolutely terrible. was suppose to get an emergency surgery 24 hours ago but it keeps getting pushed aside. haven’t let me eat. I feel terrible for anyone who has to come here for lung related problems. don’t expect to be treated well.
Stayed here for a week. I met some of the nicest and most caring and professional staff that you would never find at any other hospital. Extremely happy with everything they have done.
The staff is absolutely amazing. They are super heroes!
Greeting staff is sub par at best. They continually voice their personal opinions and insult you. Real nice feeling you get when you've traveled across to the country for your son's cancer treatment.
Don't really understand how people can give a bad review of any hospital, let alone BCCH.
Our dealings here have been great. Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly staff made our experience all that much easier. Thank you.
The staff here are incredible. Really put anxious people at ease.
The waiting time at the Neurology Clinic with an appointment is quite long.
I remember a beautiful bright coloured room before I got surgeory on my femur- which healed perfectly. When I got sick as a two year old, vomiting in the middle of the night, the nurses were able to change my bed sheets very quickly.
My daughter has been in and out of Children's since she was a baby. All her surgeries have been there and the Doctors and Nurses are fabulous. I will only take my daughter to Children's if I need to take her to Emerge. I see people complaining about the wait etc etc just because it's children's doesn't mean you will be in and out there is a wait time as well here depending on how busy it is.
Parking is expensive and hard to find a spot BUT their new valet parking is amazing and free! Loved how clean they keep the kids toys in the playroom, many other hospitals don't clean their toys and don't care. All staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Only thing I'd suggest is having change available at the counters for parking cuz valet doesn't start til 8am. I got sent to Starbucks and they wouldn't give me enuf change to park for the day so was almost late for surgery. Luckily the wonderful guys at the valet came on shift and saved the day!
I am amazed how caring and knowledgeable staff is!Best place for a sick child!
We were waiting about 5 hours to see a doctor. My child MSP was not active and we paid about $500 CAD for visit. Yes this is Canada !
Very dedicated doctors, nurses and staffs.
Very good nice doctors and nurses
My daughter has had many appointments over the last 2 months at Children's Hospital and we have always had a great experience!
Amazing do they have an email or a gmail because me and my friend are try to get in contact with the children's hospital because we are trying to donate and make the world a better place Thand,Samuel
After 5pm on Sunday, the local urgent care clinics are closed so you have to come here with your child. It's a modern facility with all of the equipment you'd expect, and lots of space so we never felt crowded. Within 90 minutes of arrival we had the x-rays done to verify that nothing was broken, but around that same time I overheard there was a shift change and the new shift was not quite with it. So we ended up sitting around for another 2.5h for results only because the new shift was unaware that x-rays were already taken. On departure, we were given a sheet of care instructions which when I arrived home, we found to be mostly blank. So now I look up care instructions on the Internet instead or just use my first aid training and common sense.
Bc children hospital is the best
The doctors drugged my adolescent client up, he went for extreme anxiety but came back suicidal. The doctors refused to help and wanted to release him. I will never want anyone to go there.
Nothing but cancellations. One of the seven cancellations was under 24 hrs.
This hospital is located in South Cambie, just west of Queen Elizabeth Park, on Oak street at 4480. An incredible hospital with great staff and talented Doctor's. Their state of the art equipment and ability to treat and care for children is second to none. The enormous funding they get from the community is really amazing. Takes a big heart to help and care for sick children. I myself was a sick child once and know what it is like to be in a hospital and it can be very frightening and traumatic. I was treated with love and compassion. This hospital is greatly needed and appreciated.
Great care for our little ones.
Game Boy's
Don't go here in an emergency. First of all, you're risking your life just by driving on Oak St. Hopefully you're lucky enough to find parking. If you make it to the emergency area, which is nowhere near the hospital entrance, you have to wait in line before any staff will even glance at you. After waiting in line for an hour you might realize that your child is more likely to contract some kind of disease from the dozens of other kids in triage before anyone will even speak to you, so you pay the $20 for parking and go elsewhere.
The staff never took me seriously and now I'm in a darker place than when I came. I was treated awful and they practically threw me out when I needed help. No wonder there are so many lost souls in Vancouver.
The staff are very very helpful and try their best to get to you in time. The establishment is also very kid friendly and clean.
Don't let the exploitation of sick children fool you... this crooked hospital cares more about supplying coffee and donuts at doctor pow wows then supplying proper bedding for parents and siblings staying with their sick kids. They have done this for years... DONATE STRAIGHT TO THE CHILDREN... NOT TO THE HOSPITAL IF YOU ARE DONATING.
Staff works very hard!
The best.
amazing service and great staff is the least you can say about this place. great doctors.
I was born there xD
Emergency at least 3hrs!
Thank you to the neurosurgeons plastic surgeons and the rest of the team that worked on my grandson who had cranial skull Fusion from birth... they did a wonderful job and took very good care of him all the nurses and staff, they also helped the family get through it... Thank you all at BC Children's Hospital
I referred a 12 year student yesterday to BCCH Emergency, as she was suicidal and asking to go to the hospital. Her father took her there on March 7th, referred by me (her school psychologist) and her family doctor, as it was an emergency situation. Sadly, her problem was not treated as an emergency, and she waited 9 hrs with her father to see a child psychiatrist. She was “treated” by being asked to return in two weeks after considering if medication would help. This was disgraceful and unethical treatment. I fear that this youth will not ask for help now, as she learned that her mental health crisis was NOT a priority at BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver BC. We should never ever treat anyone this way. This youth deserved better! Dr. Nancy Cochrane
Almost 6 hours and we are still waiting for the doctor at the ER. My son has high fever, rashes and diarrhea and just throw up. 6 hours of wait time is way too long for a 15 months old toddler!
Well as far as Hospitals go... This one wasn't bad when I had to go there for some testing as a teenager...
I took my baby to BCCH because of allergy and after 2 hours waiting in emergency they sent us to an emergency room and after 3 hours we left the hospital, we were waiting for 5 hours in emergency room, no body showed up . We couldn’t see the doctor and every time we asked when the doctor is coming they answered no idea and When we told the nurse we are leaving, she said ok and we will follow up with your family doctor. If our case wasn’t emergency we would not go to emergency. What’s the meaning of EMERGENCY?! I’m very disappointed with their service .
Wow! It was our first time to B.C Children’s Hospital and you would imagine that this was the place to come specially when your child is (only 4 months old) to get urgent care, we arrived at 11:00 pm at night and here we still are waiting …
brought my brother here when he broke his hand. we checked in, saw a doctor, and got his cast on in about 2 hours. all the doctors were so nice, there are volunteers are in the ER offering support, and the recent renovations have made it such a nice environment. (considering you're in a hospital!)
These people saved my life, and my stepsister's. Thank you so much
Dr Blair is so friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Masterson is great. We've always had amazing care here. Very blessed to live near this wonderful place
Not going to lie my experience wasn't great but i give 5 stars because this is the best hospital for any child to go to yes i had to wait 7 hours for my son to see a doctor and yes other kids were put before us but from what i overheard those kids were a lot more sick then my son i know if i was in those parents shoes i'd appreciate the fast response.
I have ever been treated like this before. Nice approachable doctors and nurses! AMAZING care! Clean, wide and very good place. It has good parking area. I like all of the staffs and they deserve a 5 star rating.
Love to all the beautiful children bless you and your families and caregivers: Power of Love When you lie in your bed alone at night You as I have weighed the value of life So many thoughts run through your head So deeply you ponder time and all its worth Through the darkness straight to your soul Precious hearts one by one are locked in time And as you watch the clock tic toc Throughout the darkness of the night Time seems frozen as you fight your best fight You picture thoughts complete one by one You lock your special precious thoughts away deep inside your heart you call to set them free Pure love true and strong surges to fight the battle for all you gained in love and life your strength And that is the most precious gift of all Thats the magical power of heart felt love For it is true this love will bring you home Remember our hearts beat together as one We felt your heart call and it was so very grand It the call of a lioness fighting the fight to win We have laid our hearts one by one next to you And beside you our hearts are shining strong To complete the magical power of love For it is this love that will bring you home -ifarm
Thanks a lot for giving me braces on my feet as a infant even though I had no issues with my feet in the first place now it hurts for me to run a such thanks to you blugh
Best doctor's and nurses. Keep up the good work.
Great staff, difficult to navigate where to go since it’s under construction but once you find where you need to be it’s a great experience.
It's a nice walk there all those Doctors and Nurse are very nice and very helpful.
The people who work here are dedicated, and provide terrific care for our kids.
Thanks Dr. Duncan.
Thank you for everything you are doing for our children.
My son was taken to emergency. Been there since 8 PM. Was in the waiting room for 3 hours. Finally been seen by a Dr @ 2:30 AM. Emergency nurses couldn’t be bothered (Even for a quick temp. Check). The Dr when she saw us then told us to stay over night so we got an overnight room by 3:30 AM. Then both a nurse & the same Dr comes in @ 6:30 AM basically telling us to go home when they specifically told us to stay overnight. No empathy. Felt like they wanted us out. Everyone made you feel like you were a bother. My husband, son, and I were all tired but that didn’t matter. Shouldn’t this hospital specialize in caring for kids? Felt like my son was never a priority from start to finish.
Wait time is too long in emergency section. We reached the hospital at around 10PM, its 1.20AM now and we are still waiting as I write this review. Doctors are really good but it'll be great if they add more doctors in emergency section to reduce the wait time. 3-4 hours of wait time is way too long
great service caring about my new nephew who needs intensive cares. excellence helps we have received.
Is best my friend
I love this place :D
My cousin had a successful surgery
The nurses here are so nice. They understand what your child needs and give medications in the nicest ways.
5 stars r given to the hospital yet 0 star for the operator The operator lady who answered my call on June 5th, 530 pm. Is awfully rude. Not only did she answer my questions about pediatrician hours but threatening to hang up on me numerous times. It took me well above 10 mins to ask one question. Still, no answer given. She kept repeating how I need referrals which is beyond the points. I only want to know the clinic operations hours not the emergence ones Anyone know the escalation channel for a phone operator? It's such a good hospital yet I can't get information needed to use the services
Saved my Children's lives - All 4 of them! Amazing people - that make you feel confident in their abilities and make sure you are part of everything. The nurses go above and beyond every day, the support for every aspect of yours and your childrens time in the hospital goes as easily as it can, due to the amazing support from everyone. The social workers are life savers too - they help the parent/s find somewhere to stay, help with meals etc; the things you have trouble dealing with while you are going through a traumatic experience. I am grateful every day for Children's Hospital.
It’s almost 4 hours no doctor appeared to visit my 5 years old son. When I asked the concierge about this mess, I was told “go vote for opposite party!!!” Just come and see how many children are here to be visited!!!! That’s tribble!!!
They just care!
Don't go to emergency late at night unless you absolutely have to. Waiting for 3 hrs just to be told to take child home and rest. Very frustrating.
Thank you so much for the lovely hospital who care about kids
We're all thankful to have this kind of free healthcare. A wait is no problem, especially during this time!
It is very confusing to find where you need to go. But there is a information clerk in the building to help.
They really do care The receptionist, nurses and Doctors are really caring professionals Dr. Rhemus is loved by our family She genuinely cared for my son Thank you
Its not acceptable, in this big hospital they have 1 or 2 doctors to serve the whole patients. I brought my son 4hrs ago and we are still waiting. I know once they put us in the room they will make us waite again for the doctor for another couple hrs for sure. Its funny they call it emergency, some one should explain to them what does emmergency means. So fraustrated...
It's so pretty and fun, so the kids are not scared when they go to hospital.
the people here are miracle workers. the only place where i would bring my kids
There's one doctor to see everyone! We have been waiting in line for 7 hours. Though the staff is pleasant and knowledgeable, the wait times are ridiculous. I'm pretty disappointed with the way BC Children's Hospital is managed. I had higher expectations than this.
The wait time is ridiculous. We waited 4 hours in waiting area and 3 hour in room to see the doctor. Everybody was waiting. There were 3-4 rooms empty but they still kept the sick kids and parents in waiting area. After complaining by parents, they send some patients to rooms. It seems they don't understand that kids are sick and family are worried about their kids.
All i can say about this place is "God has sent his Angels to work in this hospital" A big thanks to Dr. Singhal, Dr. Srin, Jacklyn, Piper, Heather, Aman, Jenna, sierra, Miranda, Bryan, Nicole and the list goes on.... for saving my daughter life ????????????????
All staff were so friendly and understanding while my son was in there care.
To whoever gets referral to see Dr Deevska who works at this clinic DO NOT GO! She should not be holding a license. In march she saw our 4 yrs old for growing pain. She didn’t even have time to ask us some questions about the pain as she was hurrying us to leave as she was going on vacation she said. But instead- she said our son is autistic and she was pushing us to take him to this privAte clinic thats cost over $3000 she even called me the next day to see if we called the private clinic or not( probably getting a cut out of it). To make it short- i will file a report against her and her practice with the board of Pediatritians but i m telling you - DO NOT GO ! We went to another pediatrician who has been practicing for the last 48 years who spent 2 hrs watching our son playing and talking to him, assessing his abilities. She confirmed what we knew all along- our sone doesn’t have any form of autism. He is a very smart boy and we can’t be more proud of him. I m writing this here in hope that people will not get scared of this so called pediatrician Dr and fall for her false assessment and really think and believe that something is wrong with your child, pay over $3000 into someone’s pocket for no reason. You are the parent! Be the best one and advocate for your children???? This dr is very bad dr
Saved my son's life. He had a bone marrow transplant August 2014 but ended up in emergency a day before he was to be admitted and their quick action and the timing saved his life. Thank you! He's extremely healthy now.
Amazing Staff and Doctors
Staff work very hard when I was there they were always kind
Worth the drive for much more knowledgeable doctors most of the time. A few have egos bigger then their studies, but most are graceful and kind. They do testing and support programs not available at other hospitals.
Spent over 5 hours' waiting in there to see the doctor and we were done in half an hour. It was miserable especially when kid was not feeling well and weak. Can they consider improving their efficiency while they always consider organizing various funding donation?
Waiting 4 hours in emergency no doctor showed up and when I went to ask, they all were sitting and talking about their self
Doctors are lack of experience, knowledge and patience. Parents must read, I know is long but please read. Horrible night taking my almost 3 year old son there on Feb 18, 2019. My son had a fever and cough for days, RX by family dr didn't seem to be helping. Son was too weak and we decided to take him to BC Children Hospital. Waited 4 hours, finally a RN came to check temp, and get some info from us. We got a room an other hour after, Dr. S (forgot the whole name) order some blood work, Xray and EHC. We answered him that son is up to date with all the shot, “except” flu shot. Nurses there were nervous poking my son hand when placing the IV, we were nervous because they don't seem to have much experience. One failed and she asked another nurse to try. After more wait, Dr. S suggested we should keep our son hospitalize for 24 hours, they want to put some antibiotic thru the IV into my son and to monitor further. Dr. S explained that my son Hemoglobin was way too low and his life is at risk. At the same time they will check on the blood to make sure it wouldn't grow any bacteria? not sure since I am not a Dr. We didn't feel like he was sure what he was doing, so we told him we were not staying. OMG, his attitude changed, like a car salesman. We asked for a moment, and when he returned his attitude was a bit better. After battling back and forth, we still decided to be discharged. The Pediatrician came in and we explained again and again, she suggested us to come to the next day at the clinic and we agreed to it. Now the highlight start, another female Dr came in (new shift taking over from Dr. S). She came in, no introduction, didn't ask about our concern and why, started challenging us as she walked in the door. Demanding to tell her why we are not staying. She told us how bad a parents we were, if is her son, she wouldn't make such decision and told us that our SON WILL DIE if we leave. At that time, we are even more sure that we will get out of there asap, and we will seek other help. The battle of trying to get out of that place was another 2 hours, we were there for 11 hours from 5:30pm until 5:00 am, and they didn't find out any thing beside the Hemoglobin was low. We decided to take him across the border to St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham. We explained the situation and they brought us in asap. The Doctor asked some general questions as all doctors did, he took a sample from the back of my son's nose, also checked his body and skin all over (Doctor at BC hospital didn't check or look at my son skin). ****here's the highlight. 1:15 mins later, the doctor came in and confirmed us that our son had influenza B and its normal to cause the Hemoglobin low (also already have the blood report as they called to BC Hospital to request it asap as they don't want my son to go thru any needle if not necessary). 3 Doctors at BC Children Hospital couldn't find out that my son actually had a FLU? What a shame, and very disappointing, we told him our son didn’t have the flu shot, and they didn’t think of taking a sample from his nose? To make it short, we were discharged in 3 hours from St. Joseph hospital. Doctor told us to keep the son hydrate is the key, and use Baby Tylenol and Ibuprofen to keep fever down and his body will fight on his own as flu usually last 7-10 days, sure enough, our son was getting better at day 8. I cannot imagine what if we listen to those Doctors at BC hospital and give my son the Antibiotic thru IV, when baby tylenol and ibuprofen can fix the illness without harsh medication. As population drastically increase in Vancouver, I felt that the service and medical training are not keeping up the demand. I want to bring some attention to parents and to ensure your children will be in good hand there, even though I have no plan to ever go to this BC children hospital for any urgent and non-urgent care. This is not just a complaint about the wait time. This is about lack of professionalism, training, experience and care for our children.
It's very good and all the doctors and nurses very helpful ????????
This is the worst I have ever seen in my entire life . My daughter was admitted on three occasions . Arrogant doctors . Ignorant nurses . Not a huge wait time . Doctors lied in discharged summeroys . Literally didn't know my daughter . Made sickening remarks about my family . We drove 16 hours for support of the hospital and youth mental health is a practical joke . The most expensive horrible food . They literally were garbage service . Made formal conpliant swept under the rug by lead physicians . If your rich and live in north van you might get treated better . The most awful experience of my child's life . And mine . Garbage every step of they're care . Hope to God never ever again . Your new super hospital is most likely to small and may be amazing at first but trust me these people are horrible .
Can't even begin to explain how thankful I am for BC Children's ❤ hard workers and so kind and helpful.
great hospital.
If your child is in trouble, this is the only place you'll want to be.
Horrible experience at Rheumatology.
4 days here with my son and my ex wife doing blood test after blood test and despite living in a hospital for a few days, the service and care was impeccable. The doctors and nurses treated my son so well, he didn't want to leave! We appreciate all of the hard work these people do every day. It is not easy! Thank you!
My experience in the Medical Investigation Facility was fantastic, I honestly have no complaints. The nurses (Marsha, Helen, and Leslie, I think) were extremely friendly and competent, the test was done with a very minimal amount of pain, and I was comfortable enough that being there for three hours wasn't even a problem. I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you, BC Children's Hospital.
I find this place very disorganized and unhelpful and will not ever bring my child here unless absolutely necessary. They don't even follow up with their patients after recommended on prior visit.
My 6 months old baby had a burn on his arm and leg so we rushed into their ER, just to find how horrible this place was. Pretty much every staff we had encountered was rude and not accommodating. Especially the Nurse we dealt with was just pure heartless. Not to mention, we were told to wait for the usual 2-3 hours. It’s very sad when you believe that Shopper’s drug mart has better trained staff than this place.
I have to visit almost twice a month. It's a tremendous facilities with such a professional n compitent staff, always working hard to bring happiness n healthiness in people's lives.
This is the place to be for anything health related to kids. Knowledgable and friendly staff for sure. One star off due to hospital food. It is a wonder why their patients are not depressed after eating their food... Good luck trying to get a cell phone signal in the building. You literally have to step outside for a reliable signal.
I just can't understand for the life of me that in this day and age, it is a normal course of business for people to wait 3-4 hours for their appointment. I sincerely feel sorry for those who have to live with this on a frequent basis. I had to deal with this for the first time today and I was at a loss for words to hear from nurses and receptionists that this is fairly typical. I left home at 9AM to make sure that arrived on time for the 10AM appointment. I got home at 3PM. This is just insanity.
The best children's hospital in the Pacific Northwest... no doubt
Excellent!
7 hours for 1 minute look. Pathetic waste of taxpayer money again. Shameful to know we're being robbed by those that are supposed to keep us safe. Private healthcare is the only option to fix the bloat.
We had TWO different experiences at Children’s within a 2-day visits that then lasted a month in total. I’m going to do point form because it’ll be too long to write what happened to us and our 7 week old at the time: - first arrived, put into our own area due to him not being vaccinated yet (positive) - put into our own room fast (positive) - saw a training Dr and eventually the main Dr decently fast (positive) - eventually taken to x-ray - 15-20 mins after x-ray Dr comes in and accuses us of abuse!! (NEGATIVE!!) - leaves the room and comes back 5 mins later: oops i made a MISTAKE and read the x-ray wrong, you didn’t abuse your son!!! :@:@:@:@ - bone Dr shows up and confirms that the Emgerency Dr read scans wrong and his leg isn’t broken, but still aren’t sure what’s wrong - total hours in hospital with a 7 week old 10 hours!!! with no answers - new Emerg Dr comes and discharges us saying they will call us for an ultrasound within the week and then tells us that they don’t normally see x-rays in babies this young and they are hard to read....... ok then why the F did the first Dr come in our room and accuse of us abuse before even knowing the results??? The emotion my husband and I went through I still struggle with to this day!! In the end we were back the next day and figured out what was wrong, but had to spent a month in hospital. The after part was the better experience and I think it’s a great hospital, but when we have come back for check ups my anxiety level goes up and I can only wish this never happens to another family! After our experience though i have heard of several other families going through the same thing and that’s just not right!! I understand hospitals have to be an advocate for the children but KNOW FOR SURE before you accuse someone of doing something. This will stay with me for the rest of my life and that’s devastating.
This hospital used to be my favorite.. I usually take my kids here... After my last 2 visits.. I am sorry to see Emergency department need major change. The wait time really high. Any bank have token system get the line up. So people can take token and go and sit.. instead of standing by holding sick and restless kids and babies.. And after that wait and questions.. if we get inside room, one nurse come check and connect the monitoring instruments and then leave us unnoticed. Then parents have to patiently wait the doctor with completely irritated kid due to all the things hanging on them. I asked to a nurse.. can you remove hook ups..after 2 hours of struggle.. she told me if she take out that they will take same time again to monitor... then what happened to the reading they took for 2 hours??? .. And she tell all BC childrens are here.. you are behind in the their priority list.. If there is not enough doctors, get more.. nurses get more.. for that we all paying tax. When people are paying taxes to pay you all salary, you are answerable to us.. Improve the efficiency.. teach or train them how to behave to the parents who is also undergoing through stress and sleepless nights..
These protocol practitioners are horrible . These so called MD's asses children by following a sheet of paper that tells them what drug they should use to TREAT the symptoms. Not treat the cause. Very poor patient assessments and approach.
Very long wait, but a really good hospital.
These are just such a dedicated bunch of medical professionals.
Love the personnel here - always polite and friendly!
Kind compassionate care for my son when we landed in emergency after an accident. Thank you!
Best staff anywhere! Parking, not so much.
All the staff here are great.
Very Good Service providing by all member of staff in Hospital. This hospital is one of best hospital for children in this world.
Just back home from hospital this morning. Verry happy to stay there. Stuff is very friendly and very professional Thanks a lot to Dr Lee, who help us, and thanks a lot to all nurses and lub stuff If you guys have sick child , go this hospital, Dr will help your baby I'm strongly recommended
The children's hospital is a awesome place.
We waiting 6 hours now. They said there's only one doctor today. Is this the emergency?
I hope none of you ever have to visit here, but if you do, you're in good hands. Those of you complaining about wait times: are you serious? This is an emergency room. You're angry because your child has the flu and you had to wait a few hours while others were rushed in? Be grateful that your child can wait. Those children that are rushed in are usually in situations that require immediate care (heart and respiratory problems). Understand that staff cannot give you an accurate wait time because this is an emergency room and they never know what they're about to receive. If you want to see a doctor and want accurate wait times, go to a walk in clinic. Wait times here can go from 30 minutes to 6 hours in a split second. If you're complaining about having to wait and pay for parking in your review, I can't take you seriously. If you were genuinely concerned about your child's health, parking costs would be the last thing on your mind. Also, leaving a negative review or complaining to the staff that they're understaffed is ridiculous. They can't do anything about it. Complain to your premier or local MP to increase funding to these places so we can hire more people. This is a first class facility with amazing staff. I'm so grateful I have access to this kind of facility.
Nurses are amazing and very supportive..and I thank them all who helped my daughter get better...Nurses and Doctors are our HEROES. Thank you once again.
I love this place cause there amazing doctors and saff my child being going there about 6 months old and she still go there i am blessed they can help her so all i have to say thank you so much ????
Great facility. Great health care services.
Kind and wonderful people - we are so lucky to have this resource of fabulous people and facilities - May they know how appreciated they are.
Very disappointed with the experience here tonight. They made my little one, less than two-years old wait for more than three outs to get a splinter removed from his hand. I understand that the professionals are overwhelmed with this Covid situation, but that is beyond the absurd. It is not the first time that we have to wait for more than three hours. Somebody needs to do something to manage better this hospital.
Saved our sons life! Without the miracle doctors and nurses at this great hospital. They are lacking funding like all medical in this country. But the work they do is top notch.
Nothing but love for this place and it's staff!
Amazing hospital with great doctors hardworking nurses.
7 hour wait for emergency, and the doctors have cranky attitudes.
Pros: Awesome physicians, nurses, and administrators. Cons: Cafeteria food and parking is so expensive.
They don’t support parents.
Overall my past experiences here have been great, except for a few days ago... waited almost 5 hours in emerg with my son. Nurses were good and resident Dr.Sharma was knowledgeable and very nice. Can't say that about Dr.Grewal, who wasnt very friendly seemed to be in a rush and was in the room for less that 5 min, made me feel like we were an inconvenience.
Unfortunately the emergency department night shift needs more doctors. Waited for 3 hours for the doctor before deciding to just leave. The nurses are friendly and helpful though. Parking should be free for emergency patients too!
The doctors and nurses are very caring and helpful. The lady at the admissions act like they hate their job. I think they're forgetting it's a hospital for sick kids
A clinician judging other clinicians: the emergency department is incompetent. Inexperienced staff, lackadaisical attitude. Physician came in without a clue about pt history, chief complaint, then ordered an irrelevant test without considering signs and symptoms. Bunch of lazy, uncaring staff bordering criminal negligence.
This Is A very bad place to take your kids
the front desk operators should be fired or should be replaced. Just irresponsible taking the position for time pass...
It was a mistake come here they are useless. We spent 4 hs for nothing. There is more employees that patients. Be ready to spend one hour looking for parking, and then to spend 4-5 hours waiting in emergency. I won’t donate any dum cent for this place, so so disappointed.
I took my 14 month old to children’s yesterday we waited 6 hours before we saw a doctor and we were there for 7 hours!! After waiting that long the doctor didn’t even come into the room as the resident assessed my baby. After the doctor …
Children's has only ever treated me amazingly. I've been in and out of this hospital for about 4 years and every single time, the staff has gone over the top and been absolutely amazing. Today was my last time there since I'm too old now and I am actually quite sad that I won't be able to stay. My doctor, Dr. Blair, is awesome at thoroughly explaining everything, he has such great humour, and is an amazing person in general. Every nurse I've encountered has been awesome as well. I cannot recommend this hospital enough. They take great measures to make everyone feel comfortable and just by observing, I could tell that everyone there is awesome with kids.
Great staff... my kid went through surgery...doctor and his staff is very cooperative... they knowz how to deal with kids....big thanks guyz !!
Waited 8:30 hours to see a doctor
Couldn't ask for more. Thank you Children's Hospital.
The worst hospital. My sibling and I had to wait 8 hours to see the doctor. Terrible service. Do not go here
No drinking water dispenser in emergency area. Can you believe it where people need to wait 5-7 hours to see a doctor and there are no drinking water during that long wait? Yes it’s true. I would like to draw the kind attention to the …
I brought my friends son the BC Children's instead of Burnaby General hospital and I was very impressed with the service he received at Vancouver Children's hospital. The intake nurse asked detailed questions about her son's problem and the wait time to see the doctor was not very long. Children's Hospital also performed tests on her son to try and determine what is wrong with him. This was awesome service by Vancouver Children's hospital.
My grand-nephew has severe hemophilia. The staff at Children’s have been amazing! He is treated like a VIP since birth. He is now 10 yrs old
You would die here waiting for the doctor to arrive. Receptionist ate nice though.
Attended Emergency Room today as an overseas visitor. Everyone from the clerical staff to the nurses and doctors were professional, helpful, respectful and friendly. We were dealt with quickly and efficiently. You are very lucky to have this facility if here in Vancouver.
Horrible hospital. Most of the doctors blow off even the most serious heath issues whenever possible. One ER pediatrician actually told us that he wasn't worried about a fever measuring 104 degrees, as the brain doesn't start cooking until 108 Fahrenheit. The doctors have no shame whatsoever about misleading, and even lying, about the health of your child, if it makes their life easier or improves their stats. While some nurses are good, many are not, and all fall in line. Our best experience has generally been with specialized therapists, but they are very difficult to get a referral to. Also, it makes me sick every time I am hit up for donations for this hospital, also hearing about the $200,000 salaries of the Children's Hospital Charitable Foundation executives, as well as the cushy jobs given to relatives of executives and special donors.
I had to go twice a week. Both times I had to wait over 5 hours to see a doctor. I'm not sure why?
As a main Children''s Hospital in Great Vancouver, This is the most terrible hospital that I have ever seen in my life. Despite the 7+hours wait time for emergency and ignorant attitude from those physicians, patients are fooled and treated as animals. An emergency system that cannot serve 200+ patients in a city like Vancouver counts a total failure. The tax payer's money that government put into this facility is a total waste.
We had to travel 12 hours for my child's surgery, got to meet the doctor for the Frist time the day before surgery, and spent 5 days in hospital. from the very Frist staff member we meet to at least 30 more before we left, All was amazing, treated our daughter like the most important person in the world, we never felt like we were bothering them, never felt like we were taking up to much of there time. All questions were answered and if they were not sure they found out the answer right away. We aren't from BC, so didn't know what to expect, they made it amazing experience for us.
They don’t really care if your appointment is 9 and you have to wait 3 more hours to see your dr. Careless and irresponsible staffs. This is nit acceptable.
Bad Hospital ever .Long wait and very bad staff.I will no longer donate for this useless place.
Place is a joke. Waited 4 plus hours number of times. Went here tonight and the nurse told me 3 or 4 hours wait. I lost it I told her they have this problem every time. And she says do you want to pay for extra doctors and nurses? I was like our hard earn tax dollars pay for your wages. She just got quiet and I left.
Best child care I’ve ever Seen Took My Son Vomiting to Eger Hospital in Coquitlam They did Nothing Just gave him Som Tylenol( Which I could do it Myself!!!) and he vomited that all again No bood test ! Nothing But BC Children Hospital did take care of my Son Did all blood work Needed Thanks
This place is very professional with amazing service. We were on vacation and our grand daughter was sick with fever for several days. We brought her to this emergency where we were triaged by a very friendly nurse. Our little granddaughter was seen shortly thereafter first by a nurse then a resident and then Dr. Chin. All professionals were extremely kind caring compassionate. The place was spotless. We were all in the room the 2 grandparents the parents and little toddler nobody made us feel as if we didn’t belong. We come from Quebec where the service is horrendous. The staff is rude and the wait times ridiculous. So all you BC complainers come to Quebec for a reality check. You’d sooner die than have to pass through our healthcare system. It is a nightmare. Thank you BC Children’s hospital.
I just can't get why such a big hospital has only one doctor to take care of all these patients!!??!! I'm in the waiting room now for 6 hours and still waiting to see a doctor my son is 2 years old has a very bad coughing they just checked his temperature and heart beat then he is ok wait for a doctor and no body no when you see a doctor!! So busy here lots of young kids here they all coughing and very tired I feel so bad for them I don't know to look at my son or others while all very sick ! This emergency care needs to have more than one doctor for kids it's very hard to keep them for that long time! I'm here from 8 pm and now is 2 am and still waiting ????????????????????????????????
The staff here are excellent! The emergency room is dreadful because I once spent 9 hours here for no reason. The place makes me so nervous because I'm terrified of hospitals, but it's a nice facility.
Really great hospital, my daughter stayed in NICU a few days after birth, the whole team was so nice, we felt very supported, they're great professional!
My daughter was delivered here. Nothing but excellent care from nurses and doctors.
Our family will always be thankful for the staff and doctors there that had help our son. March of 2019.. our son was pin under our van when our van slide on black ice and our van flip over. Our than 9 year old son was med-flight to Children Hospital from Dease Lake. The whole team that work with my son was awesome.. they help save our son's life. We forever thankful for each and everyone on that team that day. We love you all. You all are the bestest ????????
7 WEST The Nursing staff were pleasant . Poor communication to none from Physicians. Needing a referral Dr Collins lost the email for the referral came back and added it to his his iPhone three days later in Ontario the Paediatrician has not received it. He indicated he loved being a camp counsellor perhaps that where his relaxed approach would serve him best. It was a very stressful time my granddaughter is First Nations and care was decent communication and continuity of care second rate. I have had to call and try to get follow up Patient name Anna Bella
The medical team here literally saved my niece's life. Yes some of the doctors and nurses were rude, but everywhere has a few bad apples. Everyone complaining should think about their expectations for a public hospital. We are lucky to have BC Childrens
I went to BC children hospital on July 9,2021 around 9pm. I waited approximately 2.5hrs (11:30pm) to see a doctor . My daughter had high fever from last 4-5 days .My daughter fever was 39.4 with diarrhea. There was nurse who gave me container to catch pee. I told her she isn’t going to pee in container please give me bag or use catheter. She said they don’t use catheter when baby 2.5 years .common baby has diarrhea and you are asking to catch pee from container and baby is old to use catheter. You can use catheter on adults people if they are medically sick . My daughter was complaining about stomach pain was not eating at all . Her weight was 10.6 kg and she is 2.5 year . I was not even happy with doctor he was not listening my concern . They just gave her Tylenol and vomiting medicine and send us home . Doctor did not check her electrolytes which I know is first thing to see when baby is not eating .Baby did not pee in container so they did not assist me with other method to get pee . I went to hospital on Friday and still my daughter gets high fever everyday .Now where we should go.Baby is constantly loosing weight . I am not happy with this treatment .feeling helpless
Went in for a 12:30 pm appt for my daughters broken wrist. Didn’t get seen till after 4. The staff would try to say it was only gonna be a few hours, but they ended up getting 5 hours behind.... .. after they lost my daughters file and I had to go ask why people who had appts after us, were going in. I even asked after they told us we wouldn’t be seen till 5pm if the doctor could all us with the results of her X-ray. We just needed to know if she needed it rebroke or not..(which wouldn’t be done that day anyways) and the receptionist said they CANNOT call us, we have to wait... we end up going in and NOT even seeing dr cooper.. we saw another doctor. She decided we were gonna take the cast off, and my daughter didn’t expect that. So she got super upset. We get her back to remove the cast, and the guy just grabs her arm and starts cutting it off while she’s screaming bloody murder! Definitely need some changes in orthopaedic.
A terrible place full of entitled, malicious, and/or complacent staff, a contemptible veneer of consent, and a culture of martyrdom and supremacy. Utterly disgusted by every interaction Ive had with this institution.
Not bad. Long wait time like any other hospital in Canada.
My little one had spine surgery for advanced scoliosis, ninety per cent Dr Firoz Mianji and team performed nothing short of a miracle, turning a rather despairing diagnosis into a straight spine. There are no words to thank them for a Hope and future for Hasia. Rachel
Little brother died, but they had good coleslaw. So I hope more my kids get sick one day
Amazing place to have your child, the care and transition from labour and delivery to NICU was absolutely phenomenal. All the nurses were wonderful, doctors amazing. Despite all the ugliness going on in the world with COVID, they kept it top notch. We love you all and will be back to see all your lovely faces soon!
Staff is great, but like everything in Vancouver let’s build the emergency room at half the size it should be for the population. Also paying for parking when worrying about a sick kid......amazing.
Too slow and inefficient.
Top quality of service for BC children
Been waiting 7 hours to see the doctor and still 3rd in line. You have kids and parents lying and sleeping on the chairs waiting in the hallway. You have this big hospital but only staffed with one doctor, how do you justify that. You figure a children's hospital will better managed than this. Well, I guess we'll see how long this waiting game is gonna go on for. Oh and for that 7 hours I've paid $28 in parking.
BC Children's is very professional hospital with amazing service. Excellent, caring and dedicated staff.
I can’t believe they turned my son away because he is 17 .... he’s not an adult yet otherwise he would be allowed to vote. Hypocrisy at its finest.
In all of Asia and all countries from Mexico to Argentina, the doctors prescribe medicine that treat and help the child to feel better. I have two toddlers and have recognized BC or it may be a Canadian practice that doesn’t have any …
I had a good experience with then when I was a teenager I was a patient in the children's hospital psychiatric unit and they were great to me
The only good experience I can share is about the nurses. They deserve the recognition as they are the ones that do all the work. Extremely institutionalized and unsupportive regarding a family centred approach. I came for a quick ER visit, which led to a 2 week stay. The majority of the Drs don’t want to listen to you, and the residents are on a “position of power” high. Our discharge was an absolute mess. Very disorganized and nothing in place due to miscommunication. Highly suggest using a private clinic or hospital.
Excellent dedicated caring staff. If your child is at BCCH they are getting the best of the best. There are Amazing Volunteers , that can keep your child company ,entertain them while parents can rest, get something to eat, or tend to their other children . BCCH is a B.C. treasure!
Best Service
My grand daughter was taken to this emergency. She is 17 months old. After 5 hours of waiting time, a doctor came to see her. It took another 4 hours to complete the search . The reason is that only one doctor was working in the emergency room. Are you kidding me? One doctor? The emergency waiting room was very busy, i understand, but, come on ,... one doctor? I can't believe this is the way your hospital is treating our kids. Shame on you.
Avg 4-5 hours waiting before the Dr. sees you. lack of the needs of doctors.
Dr. Henkelman in plastic surgery is an absolute gem! We had the best possible experience with her!
I am glad that I got a recommendation and went to this hospital. Not only that it is looking really nice (waterworld and animals who live in the water are painted all over the walls) also the nurses and doctors were very nice and I felt good to go here with my son. The only disadvantage is the long waiting time. It took us more than 4 hours to get a diagnosis. Good that I had some food for my little son with me. But despite this, I can recommend this hospital.
8 hours now and still waiting for doctors, very rude nurses. Very bad experience
My daughter has been here countless of times due to her "Moebius Syndrome"... She enjoys coming here cause of the very kind staff and the fun upbeat colors. We recommend BC Children's for your child\Children.
Nurses are awesome but the 6 hour wait to see a Dr is horrible.... They need more Dr's.
My son had surgery here last week, I was very disappointed with how nurses treated my son. When he came out of surgery, he was still very drugged. The nurse in the room was very pushy and trying to rush us. My son wasn't awake and she was shaking and trying to lift him. I tried talking with her about my concern and if we could just give it a few minutes. She ignored me and continued. She didn't stop untill I raised my voice and told her we were feeling rushed and rushing might result in injury. She left us alone after that. There is no care from nurses or consideration. It's an in and out as fast as possible situation. Beware, your child won't even have time to recuperate before they try to push you child out the door.
i brought my son there today the all the nurse who checked on my son are all amazing including the doctors compared to my last visit which we encountered an arrogant nurse asking question like an immigration officer. And the 2 doctors are both excellent they really know how to deal with sick kids. The wait is long to see a doctor but they provide us with nice room where we can lie down and rest as well. All in all its amazing experience.
Meh
There are some very special people working at this hospital. During a very stressful time for my wife, baby and I they were beyond amazing. I cannot express my appreciation enough. Thank you to all medical staff and a BIG shoutout and thanks to all in the ICU and all of the Dogwood team ... I would particularly like to thank Monica for going above and beyond to help baby and mum!! Thank you so so much!! Love from Jordan, Jasmine and Jackson Egan!!
I have promised myself if I won the lottery I’ll give half of it to this hospital.
