Dr Morhart is the man. My scapholunate ligament had a full tear on my right wrist and needed a complete surgery. Very extensive PT followed and a long recovery, but after a few years my wrist is stronger than it was before. Unfortunately during my recovery i slipped on some ice and my left wrist became injured and still has not healed, so i will likely be coming back to Dr Morhart for him to assess the damage.. i wouldn't see anyone else. Thank you Dr Morhart.

I saw Dr. Morhart after a car accident which resulted in a complete rupture of my scapho-lunate ligament (a severe hand injury). I underwent an extensive wrist reconstruction at the Weiss Clinic in Edmonton, which involved 8 separate surgical procedures, using separate ligaments to reconstruct my wrist. What followed was an extremely lengthy OT and hand rehab program at the hand clinic through the Royal Alexandra hospital that took 12 months. The hand therapists are top shelf I might add. 2 years post op, I was still having pain, so Dr. Morhart suggested a PRP injection. 12 months later (now at 3 years), my strength has almost fully returned. My range of motion is still limited, but considering how exhaustive the surgery was, the ROM is quite good by surgical standards. I was still having pain on extension and load, so I recently (on my 5th follow-up) had a special steroid injection which reduced the discomfort 75% almost immediately. I'm hoping this is the final piece of the puzzle. In general, I feel some surgeons get can be represented poorly. In my opinion, if you're truly motivated to get better and put in your own homework, there is light at the end of the tunnel. No surgery can 100% restore what you had, but Dr. Morhart's approach, surgical skills and experience along with his clinical staff was greatly appreciated by myself. Thank you!

Dr Mike Morhart has performed two extensive operations over the past year on my wrist and on both occasions he and his whole team have been amazing. Dr Morhart has exceptional bedside manner and considering how busy he is always takes the time to discuss the best options that will provide the greatest success in the long term. If you are under the care of Dr Morhart and his team you are in excellent hands! Albertans are lucky to have such a skilled surgeon practicing in our province.
