Generally I find myself waiting in a line of 5 or 6 people with only one cashier. Other times I have stood at the checkout counter for 5 to 10 minutes alone waiting for a cashier. I will not support self checkout. I’ve actually avoided shoppers for so long I don’t think I’ve been there in 6 months. Ive gone into shoppers several times looking for an electronic item on sale in the flyer which they never have. Why advertise it in the flyer if you don’t carry it?

After moving to Elliot lake I had my prescriptions transferred to this location. What a bad idea. Prices are CRAZY!!! Staff is uneducated. And wait times are pathetic. 24 hrs to be filled.? Think it’s time to transfer my business to Rexalls.
Have been with them for years, and not sure what has changed, perhaps a new owner or pharmacist, but we recently moved our prescription files to another drug store. Personal service and assistance almost non existent, not reading our prescription file notes, etc. Very disappointed.

The information about covid-19 vaccines is confusing and misleading. Please update your website so people know you are only offering vaccines to high risk populations. It's also impossible to book a vaccine online, even though it's supposedly an option on the website. I had great difficulty getting my call through and checked the number several times. When the phone did pick up, I was on hold for 15 minutes. After reading some of the other reviews I can see there is work that needs to be done to improve the customer experience.

Great Pharmacy! I called first to transfer my prescription from another pharmacy. It took a while to get through on the phone but this is understandable considering we are in a pandemic. While talking on the phone, the pharmacist was able to find smaller doses of my medication because I was working with my doctor to adjust dosage to minimize side effects. She went and checked their inventory to make sure they had enough of the lower dose pills. They contacted the other pharmacy quickly and my prescription was ready when they said it would be ready. Thanks for the helpful and prompt service.

The new owner has a bad influence, she worked at Rexall before and treats clients very poorly if nobody is nearby. Argues about everything, yet is all sweet and pleasant in front of a crowd. She is lazy and sneaky. The store is the usual SDM set-up, the cashiers are very helpful, pharmacy staff do their best but there is a constant turnover of people, so nobody knows you even if you are there most weeks. Staff part time pharmacists are excellent. Post office trained staff are terrible. incompetent and slow. Best to go to central Post office building for parcels, or use the mailboxes for letters.
Called a week in advance to get my prescription transferred from another pharmacy. When I arrived at the time I told them I would pick up the drug, on the day I needed it, it was clear that no one had followed up beyond having the prescription transferred. Pharmacist seemed pretty indifferent about whether or not they got me the drugs I needed. Told me to come back the next day, despite already being told that wasn’t an option. Blamed the pharmacy assistants for the problem. Not a good place for anything beyond standard prescriptions.
I don't know why I keep giving this location a chance. I rarely have a good experience with the staff, whether that is pharmacy or the cash out staff. My most recent visit was the worst. The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I will do my best not to return and suggest to others to avoid the Parry Sound Shoppers.

Find yourself any other pharmacy in town. Save yourself the grief. Service is poor on all levels. Came in yesterday, prescription wasn't ready. Said it would be ready in two hours, came back the next day and still wasn't ready... This after waiting 20+ minutes in line. And it appears there was another gentleman who had a similar experience and now as I type this, another customer's script isn't ready... No contrition on their part whatsoever. Their slogan is "Everything you expect from a pharmacy... And much more". Well I expected my script to be ready when they said it would and it wasn't and I get the impression I am not alone in this experience today... I don't think that's an unfair expectation of a pharmacy... Is it??? One star is too generous.

Prices and corporate profits are ridiculously high. I prefer a small local independent pharmacy rather than another big box store. First time I was there about a prescription there was confusion and it took many people to resolve. Apparently the pharmacists had the paper they were looking for. Very unorganized.

This is For the Pharmacy. Store I've never had a problem. So I've had to use the shoppers drug Mart pharmacy a couple times when my pharmacy wasn't open that day or whatever it may be. I felt like because the medication I was on I was treated like a drug addict I walked up to pick up meds and was told to take a seat it will be awhile then I watched them serve to customers that came up after me. So after 35mims sitting there I got my medication that was sitting there ready for me. Just felt very uncomfortable and judged by staff also felt like they did not put the customer first they continued to do what they were doing until they felt like serving me and I've heard this from other people as well
Im going right now and they have everything. I highly recommend coming here for anything, and the employes are really nice!

Polite staff and a nice variety of products. Whether you need something for a cold, or maybe new earbuds, or perhaps a new comb, they probably have it, and maybe even have it on sale.
Stood in line up of 6 people waiting to checkout. Only one cashier handling cash and lottery purchases. Other cashier standing at self-checkout to help credit and debit customers, but no one using that checkout. She did not come over to open use another till to help with the lineup of customers. Likely told by management they want to force us to use self-checkout. So we were waiting and waiting as the single cashier struggles to serve us. We can't use self-checkout because it is a cash purchase. Finally I left store and went next door to Rexall to make my purchase. Quick service at checkout there. When a store installs self-checkouts they are not interested in providing convenience. They want to reduce employee wages at the expense of customer service. Avoid those machines like you do the illnesses you usually have to go to the drugstore to treat.
What terrible service at the Pharmacy. Hard to believe after using Shoppers for my prescriptions for 25 years, I moved everything to Walmart Pharmacy. No one answers the phone, Pharmacist rolls his eyes at you, manager could not have cared less that I was having an issue. To top it all off, called the 1 800 #, like the owner told all of the other people to do,and was on hold for over 50 minutes before I packed it in. Good luck to anyone trying to get customer service out of this business. How can it take 24 hours to get Antibiotics from a pharmacy ????
One of the staff members there gave out a Canada post delivery addressed to my 12 year old daughter for her birthday from her grandmother with a 100$ gift card in it to someone with my old address because my mom accidentally sent to old address. I didn’t know I was waiting forever and then finally when I was given the tracking information I found out they had given it to someone else. The shame. My daughter is heartbroken and her grandmother on a fixed income in Ontario absolutely devastated. They should be ashamed of themselves
The staff inside were very pleasant but as I walked outside with my purchases I was met with a cloud of cigarette smoke. This was at 9:21pm on Monday, June 29, 2019. The smoker was a female Shoppers Drug Mart employee wearing the blue shirt. She was standing outside beside the in door. I am a survivor of cancer and I don’t need to walk thru smoke when attending a local pharmacy.

I have a really hard time trying to get my meds from this one physician there a colored older lady gives me a very hard time and is very nasty toward's me????????. On the other hand the male physician is very nice to me and helps me with everthing thing I ask and give me break's all the time????

Staff is always friendly and helpful, and the post office in back is filled with lots of hard-working folks. They stock a lot of Filipino foods here, with a surprisingly huge selection!! Pharmacy is always very kind, and they also offer flu shots for very cheap (and free if you qualify!!). Overall: very good, always very clean, great staff. ????

I had came in here for some cologne and a very nice lady named Bella had helped me, she allowed me to pick out a great decent price cologne that smelt amazing, even while helping me she still managed to welcome customers! She was definelty the highlight of my day. She deserves a raise for the work she put in.

Check medications before leaving the prescription counter. Twice I was given the wrong bag of medications for my toddler. Highly dangerous for seniors not paying attention or poor eyesight whom dont notice. Tried to take to manager on duty whom simply says "oh you should contact the store manager".....what do you think Im trying to do! Do ur job before someone gets hurt
Such a bad experience i ever had. No customer service skills. Its a complaint about the passport photo which was not taken properly- too much shadow on the face as well as it was not cut properly first time, the lines of cutting are visible and i came back all the way from my home to set it. And then the lady cut the picture diagonal it was not the size i needed. I was so disappointed because i went back to get my refund and the lady said their is nobody who can help me with it. I went back from my break and my problem was not solved. You guys needed to get a professional and good employees who can satisfy the customers need. I went there three times and still they could not helped me. Awful services.

Unbelievable this shoppers. Very rude. Some of which the older works seem to be racist. Was accused of stealing . Even went as far as charging me saying they had on video . But then when I was ready to bring it to court , they said they make a mistake trying to be apologetic. Lmao Sad store. Only ever one worker at the register when there's a long line. When I ask for help I always get rude responses. This has been going on for some time. With not only me but many others Are saying staff there treat people of color differently. ???? They could be faster with prescriptions
I find this place is just getting worse - we've been given times to pick up our prescriptions yet when we arrive over an hour later we are still being told we have to wait?! What is the point on giving an estimated time period if there's still a wait in store. We also had no acknowledgement for roughly 10min waiting at the drop off counter when there was 3 staff members standing within a foot of us - not even an "I'll be right there."
This shoppers does a great job with their pharmacy department. Always there to help and very good with requests. Friendly staff is great to see! Keep doing a great job! Not enough people write about their good experiences and this location deserves the compliments! Thank you for all your efforts.
Honestly the treatment I experienced today at this store was disgusting. Shoppers themselves nice- the pharmacy well after today im changing pharmacies it just absolutely AWFUL. Reccomened the Save on Foods pharmacy if you wanna be treated like a decent human being.
One of ONLY two pharmacies that dispense methadone, or one of its derivatives; in a huge area of small town Ontario.. It is a 3 hr & 43 minute drive from me, and if the highway wasn't closed in the other direction my only other choice is over an hour away. Are there closer pharmacies? Definitely. Do they dispense methadone, or any equivalent derivative? No, they do not..
Go to rexall for prescriptions. ???? I asked the pharmacist if they would eat the prescriptions fee that's not covered by my drug plan. They said No so I found a drug store that would. You guessed it!

I was told 15 minutes to wait for my script but it turned into 1 hour and 20 minutes later!! Upon checking the whereabouts of my meds at 15 minutes, all 6 people behind the counter couldn't serve me, was ignored and then told to step aside so another customer could be served! my 'script wasn't ready yet....1 hour later, my unhelpful pharmacists clerk couldn't find my meds and forgot my name. When they finally did get it to me it was more waiting to talk to another person who was standing around talking to one of the other 6 people practically the whole hour l was waiting!! Very disappointing customer service. I shant get any more scripts filled here unless I absolutely have to after hours.

Had my son's prescription faxed over from his dermatologist yesterday went to go pick it up was told I'd have to come get it first thing in the morning and that it would be ready I got there in the morning prescription not ready and then to find out it wasn't even anything they needed to mix it was just a tube of cream they had to put a label on my son didn't sleep at all from the discomfort in amount of pain he was in because he couldn't get his prescription.

I have been trying for 5 months to have my prescription filled with the proper medication After trying for 3 months I was told it was on backorder the 4th month I was told it was on the next order... Still not available... 5 months I was told I could pick it up on Saturday I went in on the following Monday to pick up said prescription and was told again that it was not available.. It is a commonly prescribed drug ..to say that this is ridiculous would be an understatement.. I have been a Patron of shoppers drug mart throughout the province for 20 plus years but but we'll no longer be using their pharmacy
If there was the ability to give a NEGATIVE score, this pharmacy would get one from me. Having had major back surgery, the hospital in Toronto faxed my prescriptions to the Parry Sound SDM so they would be ready after my drive home. After an agonizing two and a half hour drive we pulled into SDM to pick up my prescription. In less than 5 min, my wife came out of the store empty handed and then proceeded to tell me that the prescription had NOT been received. It is a good thing that my nurse in Toronto gave me a copy of the fax and the confirmation! It is also a good thing I could not get out of the car! The pharmacy staff did not even look to see if the fax had been received, they just told her it was not sent. The EPITOMY of CARELESSNESS! If not for a good nurse I would have been waiting even longer! I ended up getting my pain meds a full hour after I should have due to LAZINESS. The prescription was faxed around 2PM and as of 5:30 the staff had not thought to check their faxes? INEXCUSEABLE and all my business in now moving elsewhere.

Staff is rude I was yelled at from across the store for not wearing a mask I'm exempt the staff member embarrassed me to the point of me shopping there only when I have to she could have just asked me in private quietly the staff stands around talking half the time instead of working I sat at self checkout for nearly five minutes before someone stalking shelves had to break up their chat hour for someone to help me ... Pharmacy can never get my refills on time so I switched pharmacies the way people in this business act is gross and it represents management hire more staff that's trained in the accessibility for Ontarians with disabilities act ...
Poor customer service at the pharmacy. The lack of effort to help me with my request was zero, just a "No, we can't do that." Wasn't even busy, didn't ask one question, pharmacist never got off the chair, not another person in the store to be seen. Will not ever step into that pharmacy again.

I have been a happy customer for over fifteen years but in the last few months have found the service in the pharmacy to be terrible! What has happened to this place? Prescriptions are not ready well after the scheduled time for pickup, and I’d been offered one several times that had already been picked up. Something has changed for the worse. I am thinking about switching to another local provider.
Staff are usually friendly and helpful. Store is rarely crowded. If there is a lineup at the registers, go to the 3 self serve stations. Pick up your prescriptions during slower hours, before 9:30 am and after 7:30 pm? Thanks to ALL the staff who worked during COVID, keeping an essential service open. Kudos to pharmacist Abby, and I believe Laura/Lorna for helping facilitate a prescription on the weekend, that had run out.

So disappointed today with shoppers, I've never had a bad experience at this location before. I came in the store just before closing and was told very rudely that they were closing. I asked if I could quickly grab what I was looking for. The item I was looking for was moved, I asked for some help I did get some help but the clerks were a little impatient, I though of one more item I needed and veered to find it until the supervisor made a rude announcement the pay for my items because they were closing. Never ever have I been treated like that anywhere. Your Supervisor needs a little patience when ushering customers out the door. I usually buy all my cosmetics there but from now on I will be shopping elsewhere.
Trying to refill a simple prescription today I have been on hold for over an hour - same thing last week caused me to drive into town to finally renew it. No-one answering the pharmacy, customer service or management phones. As Shoppers Drug Mart is owned by the Loblaw Company could you please supply a number I can call in order to discuss with them as reviews of the store suggest I am not alone in finding the service severely lacking.
Please be aware the service at this pharmacy is terrible. Run don't walk away ! Whoever is in charge of faxing prescriptions in to the doctors office needs some training. Requested my meds 1 week in advance, pharmacy said they will fax them in. Checked in a week and they said they need to be faxed in ? This was on a Friday morning. Guess it got missed and I will fax it right in I was told. Checked with my doctors office later that day and they hadn't received yet? more calls, waiting, waiting. Drove 1/2hr into town on Sunday, waited in line spoke to the pharmacist (M) and he told me it wasn't scheduled until Monday? But, I could pick up in 1 hour if I needed. So I agreed to return in an hour,,, needless to say still no medication . I was pulled aside by the lady who said she faxed in my request and hadn't received a response as it turned out My doctors office received the fax after hours on the Friday). needless to say i would not recommend this pharmacy it is very poorly managed.

Very poorly organized. Called a day before and was told my prescription was being filled right away. Came in next day and had to wait for them to refill it again because they lost my prescription. Very frustrating.
I like it. Sometimes getting meds is slow, but usually when that happens, it is because there is a new pharmacist. The prices are often higher than Wal-Mart, but they often have good sales and they have points. The staff are friendly and try to remember everyone's name.

I can’t believe the true disregard for the health and well-being of my loved one who is receiving palliative care. the wait times are outrageous…the customer service is lower then POOR. No medication, always blaming other agencies and doctors, no fax came in, whoever is suppose to be entering stuff into the system there is pretty slow apparently. No compassion is shown to people who are dying and need pain management care. Very willing to hand out methadone treatment with fist pumps from the pharmacist and how’s it going pleasantries …but an elderly person with stage 4 cancer has to wait days for pain management medication. Horrible ???? This isn’t just one time…this is every time experience to get refills of her any of her medication there is always an issue.
Prices are outrageous. Some items are 25% more than most other stores. However, that is management and most of the staff are friendly.

very unimpressed. went to fill a prescription today. was told it would take 1/2h, took over 1h 5min. after 35min I was told it would be 1 min longer and they hadn't even started mixing it yet. I was in a rush and would have appreciated more honesty than that. when it was ready there was no paperwork included that usually explains what the medication is for and side effects etc... neither the pharmacist nor the pharmacy assistant took any bit of time to explain the medication, how often to take it, etc... very disappointing and lacking in customer service.

It’s now hard to believe this Parry Sound Shoppers care about customers. They get multiple one star ratings and the response is “it’s not the experience we want our customers to have” and yet nothing changes. Don’t bother phoning. They don’t answer or it’s busy. I’ve been there to pick up my diabetic supplies and meds and they weren’t ready when given days to prepare, gave me needles not covered on my insurance and wanted me to pay for them when they had the needles covered under my insurance. I now use the independent in town and they are marvellous. The Westons should be ashamed. I doubt they are.

I went on May 14th specifically for a new moisturizer, and something for wrinkles and a new foundation that didn't make my wrinkles stand out even more, I guess I hit that age. Yay. Kelsey, in the cosmetic section was extremely helpful, she asked good questions and showed me several products that were what I was wanting or if it wasn't exactly what I wanted, then she had a 2nd option for me also. She knew the products. Which is awesome because there are so many out there now, I find it hard to choose sometimes. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Thank you Kelsey.
When they did not have enough stock, they did not tell me there was an owing balance. I drove out to work and they would not honour the owing balance. They short changed my drug but charged the full price.
This store I personally didn't care for. I went in to get a prescription filled and I was told to come back the next day and pick it up. When I went there the next day, not only was it not ready but they hadn't even started it. So I will switch drug stores.

Very unhappy!!! Just purchased yesterday a UV portable sanitizer bag which didnt work. I was told they dont exchange or give back my money because it's been opened! How would I know it doesnt work unless its opened? I was told to go to the manufacturer . Shoddy policy and service!!!
This is the WORST Shopper's Drug Mart I have ever been inside. The pharmacy staff are unprofessional. They will only refax my doctor after 1o days if the doctor does not respond. When speaking with my doctor she said she never received a fax from them and was concerned over the 10 day wait to refax.

So frustrated, store owner Ana Lees unapologetic, 3 weeks to get monthly medical supplies, put you on hold and forget about you, no advance phone call of delivery, not at home, product goes back to store and nobody calls you to follow up, told my phone was out of service, wrong product ordered - have to wait another 3 weeks UNBELIEVABLE!!! Switching to REXALL, they can have product in store within 2 days of request and free delivery, talking with them on the phone, they asked if it would be okay to put me on hold - at last - some courtesy!
I am standing at the pharmacy at 10:05 having shown up at 9:58, GF had a prescription called in and they stayed late to fill it even after I said if it wasn't ready I'd come back the next day. pharmact big let down since new owner. everymonth there is a problem, cancelled one of my meds for no reason , meds that have been taking for years, without Dr. o.k. or even checking with me or anything. will be changing pharmacy, had enough of having deal with withouth them adding more stress to my life. very dissapointed and someone needs to check up on them to find what the problem is there right now.
Sign outside says open til 6. When i called to refill script i needed tonight i said id like to be there around 5:30 and they said see you then. Closed at 5 and i dont have an important medication i need for HS.

This wonderful lady helped me yesterday, I think her name was Valerie. I was so happy I said yes when she asked me if there was anything she could help me with. I was looking for makeup and ofcourse I always pick the wrong color but she did a amazing job choosing the perfect color for me. I feel so much better today compared yesterday, thank you again Valerie.From now on ill be looking for you when I do my next purchase!????
Store often does not honor the advertised items in their flyers. - Cream 2 for $3 in flyer but $3.09 on the shelf ( staff : - sorry error in printing - no sale bacon anywhere in sight in the morning of the first day of the sale Wife has to get stuff but I will wait until Loblaws and Shoppers develop an honesty streek.
Worst pharmacy ever. Not organized, lots of mistakes. They have a hard time listening and getting things straight. Makes for an awful visit. Some of the staff are incompetent. Sorry for such a bad review, but it's the truth! Just disappointing ☹️
Didn't shop there took a friend
I cannot get anyone to answer the pharmacy phone for 3 days now. Idk what is going on there, but very frustrating! This was my favorite store to go to.
