Des fois, il y a de l'elancement, mais en massant et mettant de la glace au besoin, ca passe super bien. Apres avoir trop travailler de mes mains pendants plusieurs jours, quand je prends un spa, la chaleur fait ressortir tres fort les tensions; faut que je sorte du spa et mettre de la glace. Apres, cest comme neuf! Il y a eu aussi une perte de force et j'ai du absolument travailler avec des poids, barre d'entraînement. Si javais pas bouger immédiatement apres l'opération dans mon travail comme tailleur de haie de cedre, la recuperation aurait ete surement moins bonne. I had carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. I started with the procedure on my left hand. Soon after the procedure I developed a trigger finger in that same hand. Cortisone shots did not correct the problem. I did not want to wait for months for the trigger finger procedure to be done, and heard of Dr. Brutus and that he was highly recommended. I consulted with him and he explained everything very thoroughly, with no rush, and giving a lot of time for any questions. The procedure was done and he sets at least one follow up visit, or as many visits as necessary if needed, after the procedure. I was going to schedule the right hand for the carpal tunnel procedure with Dr Brutus this time. But he suggested to do an ultrasound cortisone shot and see if that would correct my problem before doing the carpal tunnel procedure. I took his advice and my fingers are not numbing since. Dr. Brutus is very pleasant, patient, and caring. He has an excellent and knowledgeable staff. I would recommend Dr. Brutus with no hesitation.

I went to Dr. Brutus after being told that I would have to wait 8 months in Ontario for surgery on my both hands (Carpel Tunnel). When I saw Dr. Brutus December 16th last year he told me that i wouldn't recover the full use of my hands in the condition that they were in, if I didn't have the surgery asap. December 20th I went back (4 days later only) and Dr. Brutus successfully operated on my hands (without anesthesia, unlike Ontario) It was an amazing experience and now a year later I have the full use of my hands. Yes it was expensive but worth every penny to be able to do the most menial things like dressing myself, cutting my own meat, and not relying on others to help me etc., etc) I applaud him for his excellence and I am so grateful for his services. I was too busy to get it seen to and so suffered with the increasingly uncomfortable symptoms of Carpal Tunnel in my right hand for over two years before the pain finally drove me to seek a solution. We recently moved to the GTA, so still without a family doctor, I resorted to a walk-in clinic. The doctor there gave me a referral to apply for an appointment to a nearby EMG Clinic. That was three months ago, I still have no appointment. After that I would have had to wait two months to see the only doctor I found in Scarborough who can do the operation endoscopically but only after a further probably two month delay. I had heard about Dr Brutus before leaving Quebec, so I called his office. They offered me a consultation by Skype the following day, with the operation the next week. Rather than that, I chose to drive the four hours back to Montreal to meet him face to face and was pleasantly surprised by his professionalism and that of all his team. I could have had the operation free under OHIP with another twelve months of pain and sleepless nights, or pay to have it in a few days with a specialist surgeon in the clean modern environment of his private clinic in Ville St-Laurent. I returned to Montreal exactly a month ago today, was booked in for surgery prep at 0730, it was all over by 0900. Surgery itself took mere seconds, the whole process was free of delay, in a spotlessly clean environment , totally painless procedure, with detailed written instructions for after care. I was on my own, so delayed leaving the clinic till 1000, took a cab back to a friend's house where I had left my car; the local anaesthetic had worn off soon after noon and was well able to drive myself home that afternoon The bandages came off next morning leaving just a Band Aid over the tiny incision on my wrist. 30 days later it is completely healed leaving only a tiny scar and diminishing bump under the skin. I have been able to use my hand gently but pretty much normally from immediately after the operation so that by now, I have fully regained my grip and have full confidence in the use of it. Dr Brutus is a gifted surgeon. He chose surgery because he wanted to solve people's problems quickly and hands because they are so vital to also every aspect of our daily lives. A nurse from his team followed up with me by phone every morning of the week following the surgery, encouraging care and increasing use of the hand and exercises to help with the healing process. I had one further consultation with Dr Brutus by Skype ten days after the surgery before he headed out for a well earned vacation somewhere warm. I am totally satisfied that the fairly substantial cost of this procedure was well earned ... and also well spent compared with waiting a further twelve months in sometimes excruciating pain for the free service available under Medicare. A sincere thank you to Dr Brutus and his team.
