I had a breast augmentation with Dr Hughes and I would like to share my experience. I have been considering breast augmentation for 3-4 years and have had consults during that time at almost every major plastic surgeons office in Raleigh. Each time I had a consult, I always left feeling a little nervous or apprehensive because I knew exactly what I wanted for my body type, and every surgeon I saw always pressured me to go larger even if I was very clear that I wanted a very natural look. My consult with Dr Hughes was very different. When I told him I wanted a very natural look, and a low profile implant to compliment my broader rib cage, he was the first surgeon to emphatically agree and made me feel so secure and confident and for the first time like I was making a good decision. I immediately scheduled my surgery, and I could not be happier with the results. It has been 6 weeks now and my breasts look exactly like I wanted them to and communication and post procedure care with Dr Hughes and Nurse Lynn has been nothing short of thorough, careful, and above standard. Thank you so much to Synergy for such an amazing experience!

I visited this location in mid December & am wildly unimpressed with the results. I specifically asked for a DiamondGlow Plus facial multiple times while scheduling the appointment, then when I got to my appointment the individual providing my service asked what she would be doing for me that day. I suppose my multiple requests weren't relayed to this individual. I reiterated, told her my concerns (redness & scarring), & she got started. She spent approximately 75% of the service on extractions, which after the initial irritation & redness from the extractions eased off the redness in my face seemed to be even worse than before I went in for the service. I feel this was likely due to the constant squeezing, pinching, & pushing on my skin that I in no way requested (I had no blemishes aside from a few blackheads, which weren't even removed after the service was over. Not sure why she felt the need to do this for the majority of the time if there were no results whatsoever). I'm also nearly certain that she did not do the DiamondGlow Plus as I requested. The front desk told me they would email me a receipt, but instead of an itemized receipt for the services I just got a confirmation that I paid (as if I weren't aware that I paid). I broke out for the first time in months after this service, in multiple places on my face. I'm still attempting to correct the damage this facial did 2-3 weeks later. I got a vitamin c face wash for $24.99 that did 10x more in one wash than this $200+ facial did. Absolutely not worth your time or money, not a pleasant experience whatsoever.

I had an awful microneedling experience at Synergy. My skin is permanently damaged. While the regional director scheduled me with PA promptly, all the PA did was tell me that in six months, my skin would be healed which is not the case. Due to this treatment, I now have permanent orange peel skin and scarring in places where I did not have originally. Avoid this place!

I've gone to the North Raleigh Synergy location twice and both experiences were exceptional. Both times I received a massage. Before my massage I made sure to get to the spa a little before my appointment in order to enjoy the relaxation room with tea and soothing music. My most recent massage was with Jason. Before we began my session he asked if I had any concerns or areas I wanted him to focus on. I told Jason my concerns and throughout the session he made sure to address those areas. After my massage I was able to enjoy the relaxation room again and when I was ready to check out I explored the products the spa offers. Synergy sells EltaMD products, which are my absolute favorite so I made sure to pick up another moisturizer. Overall, I cannot speak highly enough of the friendly staff, inviting atmosphere, and relaxing experience.

Jason worked on my son with Ehlers Danlos and hypermobile joints and chronic pain. I noticed that he did a quick assessment when he was near his joints to identify any restricted range of motion and was really helpful in explaining structural challenges my son might be faced with and how to prevent them. He was very good about checking in with him on pain and comfort level the entire time. My son also has some areas where he is very self consious and Jason went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and relaxed. My son has a lot of anxiety and Jason really did a great job at putting him at ease!

The Halo laser treatment was a terrible experience that had, fist treatment wasn’t good how l expected so they had to treatment for the second Halo laser and now my face is even worse... I’m so depress because my skin looks dark and I look very old then before the treatment .. l did follow the after care instructions, but this is a awful experience ???? Also the lady don’t know how to use the Halo laser machine, she was struggling trying to make it works for like 10-15 minutes... I had a breast reduction with Dr. Hughes almost a year ago, and it truly changed my life! I am 22 and I had been thinking about having this procedure since 5th grade. I have always had back pain and trouble breathing because of the weight on my chest. It was so frustrating trying to find clothes that fit right, and I was tired of buying clothes sometimes 3 sizes too big because of my chest. When I was 18 I started researching the best place to go. I was so nervous and I had so many questions, but I never felt comfortable enough to ask them at consultations. When I was referred to Dr. Hughes I was very nervous because of past experiences. When I got there all of my worries were put to rest. I am the type of person that wants to know everything that could go wrong. He was the only doctor to talk me through any unlikely complications. But with everything that could have gone wrong, he offered a solution. I felt like I was heard, and that truly meant so much to me. He walked me through the procedure and what would happen on the day of. I felt no pressure whatsoever, Dr. Hughes and Nurse Lynn were so genuine, it was truly the best experience. I left feeling so excited about the surgery! The day of the surgery I felt more prepared and ready than I thought I ever would. The staff at Synergy made me feel incredibly welcomed and relaxed. Dr. Hughes and Nurse Lynn walked me through the procedure one last time to ensure that I knew everything that was going to happen. What I liked the most was Synergy has an operating room in the office! I was able to do everything at Synergy, and that made everything feel way less scary. I got to walk into the operating room when I was ready and meet everyone who was involved in the procedure. Every single person welcomed me with a smile and introduced themselves. I cannot stress enough how much this experience meant to me. Dr. Hughes and his team at Synergy have made such a huge impact on my life. I bought 88 units of Botox, the most I have ever used, it had very little affect. I went back and she put two more units in and it didn’t help. That makes 90 units and that should help froze my face from the nose up. It didn’t! I feel it was over deluded or a bad batch. My nurse, Jenna, was very nice and I had followed her to this location. Jenna alway made it be exactly like I wanted it. I spoke with Jenna again, she made me an appointment to come back in again. She mixed a fresh batch and touched up my face again. I had micro-needling, facials-and a pedicure, my objective to maintain healthy skin and approach aging gracefully. I was told during these services pertaining to the facials and micro-needling, that the new glam-glow was the top new thing, I tried it, I WAS NOT IMPRESSED WITH IT AT ALL, it allows no contact with the esthetician and the client, (no extractions) it is a vacuum hose that does what?, my questions are: why do I need that oppose to what I really want, I was told that the revox was a topical botox, really? (if that were true, every woman with expression lines and the infamous crows feet would have it) When I came in to get a pedicure this same esthetician met me to look down at my feet, to what? Last visit I specifically requested an advanced clinical facial, not PLUS, she had the PLUS ready to administer it, UP-SALE when I was taken back, I was quickly informed that I would have to remove my top portion of clothes, she ask is that okay, as if, it may an inconvenience, Why?, Upon leaving, she rushed out to inform me that next time you will need to get the glam-glow, Why? and stated ensure you pay before you leave. This is all about UP-SALE, also told me that products not bought from a med-spa are not authentic, I buy from other sources that appreciate my business by offering a discount and not just offering an up-sale. She would never offer me a sample just another over prized product that may not work for me, not good, We have lived in a society that promulgates falsehoods to obtain more wealth, I see this as just that, you are not that clever, it shows you trying to express supreme-ness. I spend my money as I wish based on the value of what is being offered not the lies to get a client to spend more for a devalued service. Thanks for the experience, I learned what not to do next time, valuable lesson.

Today I had such an awesome experience, I have to share about it. I woke up with a very stiff neck two days ago and the muscles have been spasming - I could barely move my head. So, I came in and saw Jason to have a massage and loosen it up. As soon as he put his magic hands on me, I knew I was in the best care. He figured out my problem right away, and I really loved his technique. His touch started out gentle, then worked up and eased into more intense pressure. It was the first time that firm pressure didn’t make me feel more sore or too uncomfortable. I appreciated how tailored the massage was to my muscles and needs - and how super focused Jason was on making me feel better. Thank you so much J!

I am writing this post as someone who NEVER leaves reviews but as someone who ALWAYS reads them! I cannot say enough good things about Synergy Spa! I have had the BEST experiences here above anywhere else I have ever gone. Nurse Jenna is hands down the best nurse injector I have ever seen!!! She always listens intently to everything you have to say and genuinely wants to help bring your vision to life regarding areas that are bothering you. She not only dissolved ALL of the filler that I had had done previously at a different Med spa (that was awful I might add) but went back in (over time and not in the same appointment of course) to add it back in very small, subtle amounts to places that truly needed it. From Botox, to filler, to bedside manner, to just being the most chill and down to earth chick ever.. Nurse Jenna literally has it all! If you are even considering getting something done that you have been thinking about for awhile, GO SEE HER NOW! I promise you you will not leave there disappointed but rather with more confidence than you went in with indefinitely. For the sake of not droning on and on (because I could all day) I will end with one final note— I am a 30 year old mother of 3 who leads a very active lifestyle and didn’t feel I looked quite as young as I feel. Since Jenna has sprinkled her magic fairy dust on me.. I have been told more times than I can count that I don’t look old enough to be a mom let alone have 3 kids! As far as the face goes... This post is an update to my two star rating below. Jenna, a manager at the North Raleigh location, contacted me after reading my review and apologized for the misunderstanding. She was also able to make some changes to the schedule to allow me to receive the "Fab Week" manicure and pedicure services with Pranee. Thank you for providing great customer service! I was invited to the Spring Fling Open House on March 14th. The event was lovely as always with complimentary spa services, d'oeuvres, and beverages. The staff is usually friendly and the ambiance is refreshing. Before leaving the event, I decided to replenish my moisturizer and spf. Upon checking out I asked the receptionist if I could schedule my Spa Week appointment ahead of time instead of waiting until the official email was sent. Spa Weeks are always in April and October. The manicurist/pedicurist I usually see is always booked so, I wanted to make sure I was ahead of the game so to speak. The receptionist simply would not assist me in scheduling an appointment. Instead, she suggested that I wait to make an appointment because Synergy was making changes in the discounted services offered. She went on to say that Synergy blocked off time slots to make it easier for clients to secure appointments. I knew better, as I have been a Synergy customer since 2011 but, I decided not to pushback. Now, my manicurist/pedicurist is booked during both weeks and only has an appointment for either a manicure or a pedicure. I will not be able to receive the discounted service of a Spa Week manicure and pedicure, instead, I will be charged for the full price of either service. I believe I should be accommodated. I should have been given the opportunity to make an appointment weeks ago. I am disappointed in the lack of customer service I received at the North Raleigh location.

This was my first time having any kind of facial enhancement treatments, the whole process was new to me, I was unsure whether I would go through with the actual injections or not, but, after talking with Catherine about my individual concerns she was very informative and helpful. I didn’t want a lot of unnatural looking results, I just wanted to fell better about my appearance. Her recommendations were spot on, I am so pleased with my results and very happy I decided to go ahead with the treatment. Yes, it’s a little pricey, however that is to be expected if you are considering having Botox or filler/Juviderm. But, I wouldn’t trust my face to any Ol’ cheaper option. Synergy is a great establishment, i highly recommend them; for all your Spa needs!!

I am so blessed to have been under the care of Dr.Hughes.I started my search with just wanting lipo and went to plenty places in the area.Dr.Hughes was my final consult.From the beginning the coordinator was so sweet, responded to all my emails and worked around my schedule.Meeting Duncan was a privilege, he is honest,nice and very knowledgeable.I avoided tummy tucks for years I was terrified of a Dr putting me to sleep and treating my body with no care.I am SO GLAD I was able to be under his care.He told me a tummy tuck would be life changing and he was right.I went for my appointment early May and he is the best!!! Looking at my body and feeling like a completely different person.I can not believe my results and its only a month and change post op.This scar is beautiful!!! It is even,precise and healing so so so well.I know there are plenty places to go,plenty Dr’s to see but honey if you are not at Synergy seeing Mr.Duncan Hughes you may want to change that.I can not express enough how happy I am.He is simply amazing.The nurses on the day of are amazing as well so comforting.I cant say enough..If you are in the area there is no need to travel far when the best is right here in town!!! My decision to go to Synergy and listen to the advice of their top nurse has literally ruined my skin. Close to two years ago, after extensive research, I chose Synergy after everything I read about them. I had a consultation to treat tiny 1/4 inch sections of melasma under each of my eyes. I chose to do this for my 40th birthday and make the "investment in my skin". Well, long story short, this nurse used a laser that is KNOWN to aggravate melasma and after about 3 weeks, my problem worsened 150%. After multiple treatments and months of trying to trust in Synergy actually correcting this damage, I am now left with permanent damage. I have hyperpigmentation on over half of my face, uneven and damaged texture (orange peel skin....research botched laser treatments and it's my skin exactly) and highly reactive, sensitized skin. And the worst part of the whole story is Synergy does not care. Their affiliated doctor was kind enough to perform some treatments, but sadly they worsened the condition. Any attempts I've made to get further corrections have gone completely unanswered. This has left me zero confidence in the facility's skill, knowledge and customer service. I am writing this now with hopes that it may stop another woman dealing with hormonal hyperpigmentation from making this same mistake I made. It is now summer, and my condition is literally worsening by the day and I'm left with a constant reminder of this terrible decision that I made to trust Synergy. Please be careful, please do further research, please do not want to get rid of the problem so badly that you'll fall for uninformed providers. Every single doctor that I have seen since this happened (including their doctor) has said IPL lasers are known to worsen melasma and are not recommended. I have worked in skincare for over a decade and truly thought this was a top notch facility. They certainly have a beautiful environment and can "sell" their services, but the bottom line is, if they mess you up, they don't have the skill or desire to correct you. Please don't end up like me.

This place is incredible! I've been struggling with acne and Rosacea for over a year now. After dumping thousands of dollars into the dermatologist and getting nowhere I went to see one of the highly trained and knowledgeable staff member here. She put me through a complete analysis of my skin, the care routine I was using and then walked me theothr all my options. After doing a clean and clear treatment my skin is already looking better than it has in the past year. And feels amazing!!! I took her up on all the products she suggested and am very excited to begin my journey to skin redemption with this company! I'd much rather spend a hundred dollaad on good cleansers than pay another dime for an antibooant that gets me nothing in return but a yeast infection. Could not be happier with my experience!

I must say my service for my pedicure was fine but we experienced a very long wait time. We arrived 30 minutes ahead of our scheduled appt time and when we checked in not once did any one say our appt time was different from what we stated it was. They took us to a waiting area and we sat waiting and waiting. They kept coming to get other customers who arrived after us again and again. Still no one asked us when our appt was. By this time our appt time has passed. I had to ask what was going on. They checked to only find out that there had been a scheduling mistake on their part. Instead of getting us back right then they said we could wait for the time they had us scheduled or reschedule us for another day. They even said they sent an email to confirm our appt time which we did not receive. To me this was poor customer service.
