I got a breast reduction in July of 2020 and I will never regret it. From the beginning all the staff were very nice and Dr. Vanek explained everything in great detail while making me feel very comfortable. I was a little nervous because I had never had a major surgery before and of scaring but he reassured me that everything would be fine and in the end I would be so much happier. It is now December of 2020 and I absolutely love how I look now. My back pain vanished, my posture is a lot better, and I am so much more comfortable with my body. I have had my scars lasered once and you can barley see most of them, some are still pretty noticeable but it has only been five months and there is still a lot more healing to do. Overall, I am very happy with everything and would would 100% recommend Dr. Vanek to a friend.

I have wanted to get surgery on my nose for at least ten years but never did due to either cost or the misconception and reputation that surrounds plastic surgery. In April 2015 my story really begins when I began to suffer from horrible ear pain, sinus pressure and ringing ears. I did not know what was wrong with me. I went to my general practitioner, who found I had a sinus infection, which was followed by antibiotics but nothing helped. It only got worse. This led me to an ENT, whom I visited multiple times and had multiple tests done from allergy to hearing to figure out the problem. Finally, my ENT found I had a deviated septum, which had always been there but only had gotten worse as my body changed. The solution was surgery. However, my ENT wanted to try other routes instead and I spent almost one year with prescription strength Flonase. June 2016 I began my search for surgery after flying on an airplane four times and suffering from the worst crippling migraine ever. The nose spray had worked somewhat in 2015 in flights, but was useless by June 2016. This jumps back to the fact I've never liked my nose. I started to search for a surgeon who would both be able to accomplish the medical tasks and cosmetic. I went to over five consultations. Each doctor was about money. Money, money, money. The one actually wanted me to put up $600 to book a surgery date the first consult and he never did any images to show me what I would look like after. Finally, without any hope I went on another trip to LA and was browsing through an inflight magazine on United. It had listed all of the best surgeons across the country based on state. Dr. Paul Vanek was ranked the top for the entire Cleveland and surrounding areas. When I got home, I made an appointment and met with them about two weeks later. The entire staff is over the top genuinely nice. The other places I went tried to be gimmicky. They wore tight leopard print clothes, stiletto heels, and all had the same haircut and bad attitude to match. Dr. Vanek's office was an amazing experience. It's like talking with close friends. They want you to be happy, it's not about the money, it is not about pushing you into any other surgeries, it is about focusing on you and your happiness. He also does not rush you. Several consults, phone calls and back and forth on what I wanted I finally pinned my date for surgery down. They were VERY patient with me and never rushed me. On Dec 29, 2016 I had a rhinoplasty to fix my nose cosmetically and medically so I can breathe (WHICH I CAN) I can breathe out of both sides of my nose now. My ears are no longer congested either and so far, no headaches. The surgery for both took about four and half to five hours. I also had my chin fitted with an implant. On top of Dr. Vanek's amazing service, the Mentor Surgical Center which is in the same complex as his building is also very professional, courteous and so kind and warm. They made what should have been nerve wracking, comforting. I did not have any pain when I was done. You can take pain meds, but I didn't need to. Yes, it was that painless. No, I'm not lying. I did not take a single pain pill during the five days you have to wear the cast. I did take two pain pills the day they take the splints out of your nose which he told me to. He was right, that part sucked. I did not bruise at all. I am fair skinned and blue eyed and did not suffer any bruising. My nose was everything I wanted. My chin is still a bit swollen but that takes about a month to finally show you the full results. I am writing this post on day 8. I breathe! My chin isn't tight, and I'm back to eating. You will bleed more if it is more than just cosmetic. You'll be congested and won't be able to taste food. But it is ALL WORTH IT.Just know recovery is sort of rough if you get medical done. You will I definitely recommend Dr. Vanek. I didn't receive any compensation for this review. This is ALL FROM the heart.

Am currently in recovery after a full body lift after losing alot of weight and I've had nothing but a very positive experience working with this doctor and his staff, they've all been very patient and cooperative with all my concerns and questions and I am loving the results he gave me. Very fair pricing and little to no waiting time before appointments. When I am making a decision about my health, there are three things that are very important to me: knowledge, skill and kindness. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, I needed to find a surgeon with these three characteristics and I found them in Dr. Vanek and his staff. From the very first encounter I felt their compassion and caring. At a time in my life when I was overwhelmed, each person I spoke with on the phone or met in the office put me at ease and made sure I knew that I would be well cared for. My type of breast cancer was not a common diagnosis and although this does not make it more serious, I was impressed that Dr. Vanek was knowledgeable about it and how he helped me understand the choices I had to make about treatment. After deciding to have a double mastectomy, Dr. Vanek explained my options for breast reconstruction. Because he is both a general surgeon and plastic surgeon, he could perform both my double mastectomy and reconstruction. In addition, Dr. Vanek also offers a new option for breast reconstruction called Prepectoral direct to implant with Alloderm. This type of reconstruction allowed me to have less pain, a shorter recovery and the mastectomy and reconstruction were completed at the same time. I don’t usually write reviews online, but I think it is important that women have all the information they need when making decisions about breast cancer and reconstruction. Although I wish others would not have to face this, I hope this review helps women diagnosed with breast cancer learn about their options and consider Dr. Vanek for their care during this difficult time. In Dr. Vanek, they will find a compassionate, knowledgeable doctor and skillful surgeon who cares deeply about their fight against breast cancer and will help them rebuild what may be lost because of this disease.

I love this practice. They are professional, welcoming, kind, patient, and allowed me to dictate the pace and degree of my treatment. My experience with this practice began over 6 years ago when I went in for a consultation. I explained my concerns and interests as well as my lifestyle. It is important to me that my treatment is as holistic as possible. At the time we took some photos for possible future use and talked about strategy. I returned this autumn because I wanted botox and some light fillers. The treatment was subtle and effective. The staff explained the products, the procedure, and the possible side effects. Everything went as described and exceeded my expectations. We also discussed some other areas of concern and I brought up a couple of breast lumps that my other physician has been watching for a couple of years. Dr. Vanek suggested I get an updated mammogram. I had a mammogram and an ultrasound and the radiologist suggested I also get an MRI. I spoke with Dr. Vanek who said he could safely proceed with removing the lump based on the other two tests and if he removed the lumps the pathology would give us a conclusive test result. I decided to do a little research before scheduling. I have many friends in the medical field and I asked for their recommendations of a cosmetic surgeon and their opinions of Dr. Vanek. I found out that several of them are patients of his and the ones who aren't said if they needed cosmetic surgery he would be their choice. I spoke with friends and acquaintances of mine and found out that many of them have had cosmetic surgery and Dr. Vanek is their doctor. I was truly surprised to learn that this was so prevalent. My husband was brought into the process as he would be my caregiver during recovery. He also loved the practice and felt comfortable with everything. We proceeded with the lump removals which required removing 20% from one side. Dr. Vanek removed the same amount of tissue from the other side to match size. He did a breast lift and another procedure during this surgery. The pathology of the unhealthy tissue was benign. I returned to work after one week. Having had several surgeries for reproductive issues with lengthy, painful recoveries I was expecting the worst. The pain was minimal and brief and I only used the prescriptions drugs for a few days before switching to over the counter. My results are amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this experience and I can recommend this practice without hesitation. We were also very impressed with the surgical team at Tri Point Hospital. They were a great extension of the Vanek practice and were every bit as professional and caring as the office team. Thank you Dr. Vanek and Staff

I recently had a tummy tuck done, and Dr. Paul Vanek was overly considerate, careful and very aware of my concerns and needs. I had no question on what I wanted done. I honestly knew nothing about him going into the office for consultation. But compared to other doctor consultations, he was the best at making me feel comfortable. The procedure went well. In fact, during surgery prep he found a lump in my breast that my gyn didn't find 2 weeks earlier at my annual apt. He followed up with me after the surgery to make sure I got it looked at in case it was cancer. Thankfully it wasn't. So he went above the call of duty to make me feel comfortable and care for my overall health beyond the tummy tuck. I am very pleased with the service he and his staff gave me. The massages in the package after the surgery were also a great perk and added bonus! He seems to genuinely care for me, my body, and my overall health. He also made other recommendations on finding a new gyn and family practioner, which I think was great advice I hadn't considered as I get older. I'm thankful to Dr. Vanek and his staff. I had an early form of breast cancer in 2012 and had two operations that left one breast about a cup size smaller and things not pointing in the same direction. Dr. Vanek gave me a number of options and I decided that I didn't want implants or to take much time off of work, just for the breasts to look alike. So we had a reduction on one side and reconstruction on the other 3 weeks ago. I am not big breasted so I was only off work for 3 days. I could've gone back to work the day after surgery, everything went so smoothly, and the breasts look great. This was a good experience.
