Had an appointment with Dr. Brace from when I was visiting my mother, travelled all the way from Ottawa in bad weather to be told I was too late for the appointment. They called to confirm a week ago and I said I was was coming, then they didn’t bother to give me a call the day of and just ask if I was still coming. Poorly run office, and I will not be rescheduling. The receptionist response, “you should’ve called me”, while that would be understandable, you can’t make calls while driving and my car only shows me incoming calls. Try calling your patients who’ve confirmed instead of assuming they aren’t coming... especially if there’s bad weather.

Dr. Brace is a magician with a scalpel. He did an amazing job and in a matter of weeks I could see such a great result. Dr. Brace and his team are kind and compassionate and reduce any anxiety you may have. During the follow up visits you are also treated with the same kindness and care.

You could almost say Dr. Brace saved my life. I went to emerg at the Guelph General two weeks ago for what seemed like a sore throat but I had difficulty breathing and swallowing. Dr. Brace was very quick to find the abscess growing in my throat. He was clear and thorough at explaining to me what was going on and he made sure I was intubated right away. While I can't say I remember it, I do know he checked up on my progress while in the ICU and performed a procedure to drain the abscess (minimal pain and no scarring afterwards). He followed up with me a few days after my discharge to make sure I was recovering well. He's very professional and friendly and I appreciate his care from the emerg visit through to the follow up appointment. I will always be grateful for his help!

He may have other talents but I would not recommend for any type of nose work, specifically non-surgical nose job. That is what I went in for. I was not happy with the results at all. The whole procedure felt very rushed and in the end I felt like maybe that procedure just wasn’t right for me and didn’t have to do with the surgeon, but I decided to go see someone else and only then I realized that it had nothing to do with the procedure and everything to do with the surgeon. Dr. Brace did not seem to care about what I wanted and barely asked me any questions about the results I wanted, he did not take in to consideration the rest of my face in proportion to my nose or anything. He used a full syringe and when I expressed I wasn’t happy right after the procedure he assured me that it was just swelling, but a week later I saw no difference so I went back in and he dissolved some of it for me, still not even close to what I wanted. It’s just crazy to me though cause after going to see another surgeon and her taking the time to ask what I wanted she was able to give me the exact results I wanted for the same price. So I literally going to him was such a waste. Just do your research and make sure your surgeon has real experience in the procedure you want.

I would highly recommend anyone dealing with rosacea or other skin conditions to reach out and make an appointment with Dr. Brace. After seeing a few different dermatologists and trying countless prescriptions, I honestly thought that there was no hope and there was nothing I could do to lessen the severity of my rosacea and that I would just be doomed to suffer with it. After just one consultation with Dr. Brace, he had a plan in place for me that did not require any medications but instead he suggested the V Beam laser. I am so happy to say that after several treatments my rosacea is barely noticeable. I honestly can not thank him enough for his help and I urge anyone reading this to try it for yourself. There is way to describe the relief I feel at finally having a solution and not being ashamed of the way my skin looks. It truly is life changing. At every single appointment he takes his time to answer your questions and never rushes you (which was my usual experience at the dermatologist). He is so friendly and immediately puts you at ease and makes you feel comfortable. He is upfront and honest with his treatment plans and he truly does want you to look and feel your best.

Dr. Brace performed my septorhinoplasty surgery, and I have never been more happy. First, both Dr. Brace and his staff worked relentlessly to ensure my surgery would be booked at a time that didn’t conflict with school, and in a timely manner. I was so happy. Afterwards, Dr. Brace explained the surgery to me in detail, and it went smoothly. The recovery went great with no complications, and my nose has never looked better. He took pictures of my nose before and after the surgery, and a year later too. It was so nice to see these pictures and the amazing work he did. So happy!

I went in yesterday to have lip fillers done, and unfortunately me and lidocaine freezing are not friends. After wiping it off and beginning the procedure we realized I was not numb enough, so Dr. Brace reapplied the numbing cream, gave me an ice pack and moved me to another room so that I could wait for the numbing to work before beginning again. I want to thank Dr. Brace and his staff for going above and beyond to make this as painless as possible and being so kind, I’m loving the results already!

I saw Dr. Brace for botox injections for my TMJ. I was looking for a way to stop the clenching and teeth grinding and found that everything I have tried in the past did not seem to work. Dr. Brace was very professional and informed me about how the botox treatment will work. He was not pushy whatsoever and allowed me to make an informed decision. It has been almost 2 weeks now and I am so happy with the results. Everyone on the team is very friendly and welcoming as well. I highly encourage everyone to see Dr. Brace for any botox treatments!

Just had an otoplasty done by Dr. Brace. Great surgeon with fantastic bedside manner. I typically have a very high pain tolerance, but the night following the procedure my pain spiked +++ after the local anesthetic wore off . Of course, at that point the office was closed so I was panicked as to what approach I should take next as I did not want to do something wrong and slow down my recovery process. I left a message which hopes that I could get help that evening, and luckily enough Dr. Brace was able to obtain the message and get in touch with me asap regarding pain management. Thanks to his promptness, I was able to get the pain under control and have a restful sleep. Today my pain is barely there, only if I have to gently touch the area. Nurse Jocelyn checked in with me to make sure all was well. Thank you Dr. Brace and Nurse Jocelyn :)

If you are at all like me, it’s the unknown that brings fear. As I review with you the procedures Dr Brace performed for me, my hope is that you will gain the confidence you need to move forward with your own vision. The age group I am part of is 55-60 years. My face had uneven tones and some sagging, particularly in the eye area, and many fine lines above my upper lip. Dr Brace assured me that I was a very good candidate for 2 different treatments; Profound and CO2 laser. After he patiently answered all of my questions, we moved forward with a plan for younger looking skin. I was excited! After the treatments I was surprised at how swollen my face became. It was never painful, but it wasn’t pretty. Fortunately I recalled the information I had been given, and knew that it would subside and look better with each passing day. When I look back on my before and one month photos, I see such improvement! My skin tone looks revitalized and even, wrinkles and sagging are diminished and there is a more youthful glow in general. My sincere thanks to Dr Brace and his lovely team for evaluating my needs and addressing my concerns, enabling me to proceed with ease of mind and confidence with a very successful procedure. I’m thrilled with my results!

My 85 year old mother suffers migraines after her cancer treatment. Botox injections supposedly help. Originally we were quoted $300 and my mother got her own oncologist prescription and papers signed for the insurance. Treatment was done I am sure very professionally but the cost was over $800. She was told she was missing some prescription and the treatment was charged as cosmetic procedure. My issue is with the support office staff very nonchalant not helpful or any guidance to her prior to her treatment. Due to this clerical non caring attitude we can not claim it for her insurance. She is out $800 and migraines persist. Very disappointing outcome. My mother has no strength to complain I her son do.

This office is simply the best clinic you could go to for facial augmentation and services. His staff is friendly and informative, with upfront information and accurate date estimations and pricing. They are very professional. I have been to other doctors for a tiny bit of filler and Botox, but nobody did it as natural looking and perfectly as Dr. Brace. Eventually, I went in for my consultation to inquire about an eyelid lift, lip lift, and face lift. Although my jowls were not bad, it was starting to show, and so we’re my hooded eyelids. He was honest about what could be achieved and promised to be conservative if I decided to go through such a big decision. I researched his training and background, and after meeting him I trusted him 100%! I went in just to gather information, but they provided a detailed plan, along with an accurate cost estimate with no pressure. I decided to go through with it, although I was terrified. I felt too young to do something risky, but at the end of the day, I really hated my drooping eyelids and jowls. They made me feel old and worn out, and honestly sometimes sad. What a great decision! The surgery clinic is lovely and calm, the professionals were amazing, and I woke up looking quite battered but I felt fine! Dr. Brace checked on me that night and I saw him the next day. The recovery was honestly very easy. I didn’t even need the pain meds. The worst part was the bruising and swelling but I just wore a hat and sunglasses and a face mask. Within a couple of weeks I was out in public and no one knew! His sutures are perfect and I barely have scars, and those very faint white lines are hidden in my hairline. The eyelids healed so well you can’t even see a scar at all. He was very conservative so I don’t look pulled or odd. I just look refreshed and younger. And the lip lift. Omg. Forget filler. This looks very natural and you’re done once it’s all healed. Honestly, I’m a scaredy cat and didn’t think I would ever go through with this, but I feel great, I look refreshed, I’ve healed amazingly because of Dr. Brace’s incredible skill, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. It was a great decision and this man is an artist. He’s a kind, sweet soul as well, which makes it all the better. If you’re considering any kind of facial surgery or fillers etc, choose Dr. Brace. We are beyond lucky to have him in Guelph and not in L.A.!
