From the consultation (August 25, 2020) to the procedure (October 2) to the week and month post-op appointments (October 8 & 29th, respectively), Dr. Mckee remained a friendly, informative, and all-around really wonderful surgeon to work with. I chose him because of his expertise in top surgery, high reviews, and really incredible post-op photos from prior patients of his. For every step of the way and every question I had, Dr. Mckee was available and open in sharing both knowledge and reassurance. His team at the New Westminster surgical centre were so personable and kind, it felt like I was trusting I group of friends with my body instead of cold, sterile "unknowns." Every member of the OR team introduced themselves to me by name, profession, and explained what they were doing AS they were doing it so that I would be informed and put at ease. I couldn't believe the level of care I received with him and his team. I also can't believe how fast I've healed, and how good my results look. If you're stuck on choosing a surgeon, go with Mckee. I really can't recommend him enough. THANK YOU, doctor!!!

I am really impressed and amazed with Dr. Mckee's phenomenal job for my top Surgery. He's not just a good looking Surgeon with he's angelic face but he's a total gem. Even right after my Post-Op, all my appointments with him was absolutely perfect. Our experience with Dr. McKee was very upsetting and nothing like how he represents himself online on his social media accounts. He did not do the surgery as discussed and his bedside manner was very detached and uncaring. We felt uncomfortable asking any questions and kept telling ourselves he must just be having an off day, look at how great he seems online! So many happy patients. Not true for us. I wish I had trusted my instincts to go with someone else. I will always regret choosing Dr. McKee and have filed a formal complaint with the College. ** Edited to respond to your comment below: That patient DID choose you and DID consent to this surgery. I do not see the purpose of your response implying that anyone other than the patient is behind this review. If the patient were satisfied this would not be an issue. The patient is a youth who is uncomfortable following up with you and frankly there is no surgical solution for the choices you made; they will have to live with it. We have transferred their care to another surgeon which is why you haven't heard from us. You will be receiving our formal complaint shortly.

I had my top surgery last Nov. 28, 2020, and yes, it was a success! From the consultations pre-op, Dr. McKee was able to provide the necessary information and relieved my anxiety towards the procedure; the Pre and the Post Op care you need to know, what to expect and not to expect. And what are the essentials that you need to prepare. It is a plus factor that they have their website that has detailed information about top surgery. You can refer to that whenever you have questions or forget some info. Btw, I was surprised that after the operation, the incision sites were not that painful at all! It was like a pain scale of 4 out of 10. (10 as the most painful). Follow up consultations are great, specially I learned lots of things from him about wound care and wound healing. Dr. McKee is very professional and I feel comfortable and confident under his care. I highly recommend Dr. McKee to those who want to have their top surgery.

McKee is a surgical angel I am so happy I got top surgery from him, the whole process was so amazing! He’s so good at what he does (my results look hot as hell) and is so sweet and respectful during the consult, surgery, and post op care! I ended up being 1/100 people to have get a little hematoma complication but he fixed me up with just 1 extra appointment to drain it and now 1 month post op it looks great and is totally healed! So if you’re nervous about the surgical process I can personally attest even if there is a, very unlikely, complication it will all be ok, McKee is here to fix u up! (also if u watch grey’s anatomy he is definitely a Christina in the best way) TYSM McKee you are an icon to all the trans mascs in Vancouver! <3

He made me feel completely comfortable and confident about my operation, a double mastectomy with nipple grafts, and made sure I was properly informed about all the details beforehand. The results look fantastic and recovery went smoothly with no complications. I would absolutely recommend Dr. McKee for anyone who is looking for gender affirming surgery.

It's been almost a year now since getting top surgery (double mastectomy), and I couldn't be happier with my results. The whole process was smooth despite my anxieties, and both Dr. McKee and his team were very informative and kind to me. The information set up on the website was extremely helpful as well, I highly recommend giving it a read through if you're curious about the process/need to quiet any anxious thoughts. The scarring has been very minimal, and I've experienced no complications whatsoever!

A few months ago, at Burnaby General Hospital, Dr. Daniel McKee and his team performed three separate surgeries to remove basil cells from my chest and forehead. Each hospital visit has been an enjoyable experience. I have been impressed with how organized, meticulous, and pleasant each surgery has been. I felt completely at ease, in good hands and well cared for. No pain at all. Each time Dr. McKee followed up one week after surgery to confirm that stitches were dissolving, or removed. I'm sure that working in a clinic during this pandemic is stressful, but not one of them let on. Dr McKee's excellent reputation precedes him and rightfully so; he did an incredible job. He has a ton of helpful information to refer to on his website, but I found myself with a couple other questions after my surgery. I emailed his office thinking such questions might just be answered by reception, but he called me himself the very next day! I am so glad I got my top surgery through him. I am now 1 week post-op, double incision no nipple graft, and there is hardly any bruising. The incision lines themselves are super straight and smooth. Due to there being no complications at all I could experience the gender euphoria in all of its' greatness. I had minor difficulties regarding the surgery taking place during covid. Dr. Daniel McKee is a lead surgeon for gender-affirming top surgery. One month ago today, Dr. McKee performed a FTN (female-to-nonbinary) gender-affirming top surgery procedure on me (bilateral double incision mastectomy) and I am 100-percent pleased, in fact elated, with every outcome. From start to finish, Dr. McKee's professionalism, efficiency, accuracy, and surgical prowess has met my goals and given me the chest of my dreams. The incision site is perfect, my chest is naturally contoured better than I could have imagined, and I am healing from his procedure extremely well. Even more, and equally important, Dr. McKee is completely authentic in his stance as an ally for the queer, trans, and gender diverse community. Going into my first surgical consultation with Dr. McKee, and being a member of the queer community for 26 years, I pointedly and critically asked Dr. McKee what brought him to focussing on my subculture and making this FTN/FTM procedure a major component of his life's work as a surgeon, (i.e. why help us?) His answer blew me away and secured the notion that he truly is an ally for the queer, trans, and gender diverse community, seeing his work as helping bring folks closer to the positive, congruent, and thriving lives we aim and deserve to live.
