Dear Friend, You are looking for a plastic surgeon so I wanted to write a review about Dr. Winn Hartley at Boulder Plastic Surgery. I am only out day four from surgery but I needed to let the world know how happy I am. I was treated so kindly. Dr. Harley did exactly what we agreed upon and I was in good hands from the very beginning. The support not only from the staff and Dr. Hartley was amazing but I am also grateful for all the supplements that are included in the cost of the surgery. I feel healthier than before I had the surgery. My face is still healing, of course, but I can see the results will be just what he said: I look refreshed, not like a different person, still me, but rested! I have no problem talking to potential clients so just let their office know when you read my review and they can call me so I can speak with you over the phone. I waited 20 years and this will be the best Christmas in ages. I hated looking at myself in the mirror and I hated photos. Again, only day 4 and I can tell I will feel confident from now on and ready to give back to my community.

I highly recommend Boulder Plastic Surgery and Winfield Hartley MD to anyone wanting to look as young and healthy as they feel! Dr. Hartley has been my doctor for 10 years. I had two procedures 9 and 10 years ago; body sculpting liposuction and a breast augmentation. The results were perfect. I went in again in December 2015 for eye lid, brow and face lift surgery. Procedures: Breast reduction and upper arm reduction on October 28, 2019. My spine doctor referred me to Dr. Hartley for breast reduction surgery (after years of back/neck pain). I decided to also have an upper arm reduction, to be proportional. I’m the kind of person who does my research. I learned about breast and arm reduction surgery, read all the reviews I could find, and watched hours of YouTube videos posted by women who had undergone both of these procedures. After my initial consultation with Dr. Hartley, I knew that he was the surgeon for me. He thoroughly explained the procedures and patiently answered all of my and my husband’s questions and concerns. Most importantly, Dr. Hartley made me feel totally comfortable; there was no awkwardness as I was “hanging out” discussing the future of my new breasts. This entire experience has been seamless: - The staff submitted all the necessary paperwork to my insurance and obtained approval for my breast reduction. They also separated the charges from the two procedures, so we could keep track and understand the charges. - Dr. Hartley’s skill as a surgeon and his eye for aesthetics are amazing. He was able to transform my desire for “small, no bra required breasts” into the perfect size for my frame. - The anesthesiologist who was part of my surgical team was fantastic. I experienced no sore throat or nausea upon recovery – and for that, I was very grateful! - Summer, Dr. Hartley’s nurse, has been wonderful. She skillfully removed my staples and has always been available to answer my questions. - The front desk staff are friendly and perform their magic to make sure I get my follow-up appointments when I need them. I am now nine weeks post-op. Having Dr. Hartley perform these two procedures on me is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am now free from the prison of giant bras whose straps would dig into my shoulders, and tops actually fit nicely now. To say that I am “Over the Moon” happy with my results is an understatement!

I went to Boulder plastic surgery because a friend had recommended it, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience with Dr. K. It was my first time ever getting Botox so I expected to be educated and walked through the process, but I’m pretty sure the doctor spent less than 5 minutes in the room. He did not listen to what i wanted, and because of that I didn’t get the results i wanted. When I asked him questions he was very dismissive and seemed annoyed. The entire experience felt rushed and like I was just another money maker for them.

This was my first time visiting this facility and I am extremely happy with the results. I had been wanting to do breast augmentation for like years and was never sure about the results I get, or how well it will be performed. i decided to schedule a consultation for a breast augmentation with dr. hartley last december. he was the only doctor i met with but he was incredibly knowledgeable and had such good bedside manner that i immediately knew i wanted him to be my doctor. i had the surgery in february (about 8 months ago) and couldn’t be more happy with the results. i can’t tell you how many people have said, “i know someone with implants and they look kind of fake but yours look so natural.” this is only after i tell them i’ve had work done because it’s genuinely hard to tell. i’ve also had botox done by both dr. hartley and dr. maxhimer and the results are always great. i want to also give a shout-out to the nurses and admin staff at BPS. the nurses are wonderful and made my pre/post-surgery appointments enjoyable. and the receptionists have always been very friendly/accommodating whenever i call about scheduling, which goes a long way for me personally. if i could give this place 10 stars, i would :)

I definitely recommend Dr Hartley for a tummy tuck. Here's why- I've had a couple of consults with other drs before making my decision to go with dr Hartley, since this is a BIG life changing decision. He and Summer are awesome! Dr Hartley, is a "people person" dr, and he made me feel very comfortable when explaining (touching me) in the areas I wanted my procedure done on. He was thorough and treated me with respect and overall made me feel like he truly cared about my decisions -he listened!. He explained the procedure to me and answered all my questions. Holy crazy town! I am in total shock right now. I just had the most insane experience, I still can’t believe what just happened. But let me back it up a bit for you… I went in for a lip filler with Dr. Kuisle almost 3 months ago. After two weeks I noticed that they were uneven. I gave it another few days to make sure it wasn’t just swelling, because sometimes it does take a minute to settle down. I called the front desk and told her I was going to need to come in for an adjustment. She told me that I was going to have to speak with the nurse for that, which seemed odd but I figured that’s just the way things worked. She transferred me back to the nurses station, and since nobody answered, I left a message. I told them that my lips were uneven and that I was happy to pay for whatever product had to get used to fill in the other side and waited for a call back. I know they’re busy, so I waited a week. Nobody reached out to me, so I tried again. The woman I spoke with told me that Dr Kuisle was out of the office that next week but that he would be in on a specific Monday for another client and would be able to see me then. Cool. But guess what! I showed up for that appointment and was told Dr Kuisle is out of the office????????‍♀️ Not a big deal, I don’t work Mondays anyway (meaning I didn’t have to take time and money out of a busy day to leave work), and I understand that stuff happens and booked another appointment. The whole thing was only mildly annoying bc we were still wearing masks everywhere and not really going out or anything still, so I wasn’t even really upset about any of this. I just kept rolling with it. Fast forward to today! Wow!!! I left work a few hours early to go deal with this today. I was not looking forward to the pain I was about to be in, but I was pretty happy to be getting this over with. I was in a great mood, as the assistant took me back. I noticed that I was in a weird room and that the assistant didn’t ask me to numb my lips but figured Dr Kuisle just wanted to look at them real quick first. Boy did I read that room wrong. I wasn’t even thinking about how badly they had been handling this, so I was definitely taken off guard when the first thing out of his mouth was “what’s the problem”, and then immediately started digging into me about the fact that I should have called him personally and left a message on his personal voicemail so that he could have personally made this appointment for me and that it’s now been 2.5 months, which means I’m an a**hole I guess? ...... Wait, what???? When I tried to tell him that I did leave a message (why are we even talking about that) and then called back and then showed up for an appointment that he wasn’t at, he spoke over me and talked down to me the entire time. I asked him multiple times to allow me to speak to no avail. He was determined to berate me for I honestly don’t know what. For booking an appointment through the receptionist? I still don’t get it! I’m seriously so confused. When I was finally able to point out to him that I paid a lot of money for an uneven outcome only to come in to get attacked by him, he offered me my money back. I wasn’t there for my money back, I wanted to not look like I had a fat lip anymore, but I definitely was starting to not want him touching me. I asked him for an apology, which he did do, but followed that up with another lecture about how badly I screwed everything up by not calling him personally, on his personal cell phone (...what???) My only guess is that he is embarrassed by needing to do a redo and embarrassed that his front desk is incompetent so he thought his only option was to come out guns a’blazin??? I could never in a million years imagine berrating a client of mine for having to come get her service fixed with me. Especially after such a major screw up with the front desk. One of the nurses told me she’s not surprised at my experience bc they’ve had a lot of turn over at the front desk. Gee, wonder why. I am absolutely floored by this whole situation. Just, Ugh.

Other doctors recommend Dr. Hartley. He's that good. My dermatologist recommended Dr. Hartley when I needed facial skin cancer surgery years ago. His friendly, reassuring manner put me at ease, and my scar was invisible. Many of my friends have seen him for cosmetic procedures with great outcomes, so when I wanted to pursue facial rejuvenation, I saw Dr. Hartley for a consult. As a past health administrator, I know how to research doctors, and Dr. Hartley’s credentials are impressive. He took the time to understand my goals, ask about my concerns, and answer all my questions—and I felt confident and comfortable going into surgery. I had a neck lift, lower facelift, brow lift and fat grafting to the face—and to the hands, since our hands can show age just like our face. I am thrilled with the results; my husband and friends are in awe of my natural, refreshed outcome, which I attribute to Dr. Hartley’s amazing skills! His nurse, Summer, is terrific and the office is top notch. If you are in the Denver area, do yourself a favor and book a consult with Dr. Hartley. If you’re not nearby, schedule a virtual consult and travel to see him. The fact that other doctors, like my dermatologist—who sees the work of all plastic surgeons in the area—recommend Dr. Hartley, says a lot. He really is THAT good.

Dr. Hartley and the staff at Boulder Plastic Surgery are super friendly and do their best to make you feel welcome- but I wish I would have listened to my gut and gone with someone who is well known for trans competency. I went to Dr. Hartley because he was the only provider that is in network with my insurance for gender affirming surgery. He has great bedside manner and I did feel welcome during my consultation. I was disappointed to find out that he didn't perform the only procedure that is actually covered by insurance. I wish I had thanked him for his time and left it at that, but as someone who isn't always treated kindly by physicians I stuck around and let comfort get in the way of my experience. Weeks before surgery I sent photos about what aesthetics I liked and asked questions about my procedure. I was advised that we would go over all of that the day of my procedure. Unfortunately the day of my surgery Dr. Hartley was behind schedule and I was drugged up by the time anyone discussed any details of the procedure with me. If my partner hadn't been there I am afraid that no one would have known anything that I wanted as an outcome. I assumed the inconsistencies were a result of the day's schedule being off, but during my follow-up appointments it appeared that Dr. Hartley didn't even reference my file/charts or whatever prior to. He couldn't provide basic details or answer questions directly about my personal procedure. It also felt like he brushed off anything I felt uncomfortable with about my healing process. I stopped going for follow up appointments. I didn't have a good experience after my consultation. I started to feel like I was thousands of dollars and not an actual person. I wish I had the time to talk to him about my needs for the outcome of my procedure. I didn't feel like I my needs as a trans person were really considered, and all it would have taken was a conversation to change that. It's been over a year and I cannot look at my body- I feel nauseated if anyone sees me with my clothes off. Those types of feelings were supposed to change with my procedure not intensify after. I am not saying he is not a great physician. It's my opinion that Dr. Hartley is a great at what he does, but for other types of procedures and communites. I just don't think he is the best choice for transgender folks.

I found Dr. Hartley on a quest to gain normalcy again after being diagnosed with early stage breast cancer at 41. After 2 surgeries with another surgeon he told me there was nothing more that could be done. I am thin and the rippling of the implant was very visible and in places very deep through my skin. It was not a look I was ready to settle with at this age. After a lot investigating, I was pretty convinced I would need to go to CA for my next reconstruction surgery. Just as I was thinking about how I would go to CA during covid, I came upon Boulder Plastic Surgery and noticed their impeccable reviews. I went to the website and saw the reconstruction pictures and was impressed (I have probably seen 100s of reconstruction pics). I saw one patient in particular and called the office to ask who the surgeon was. They told me Dr. Hartley. I asked for a consultation. My husband, also a doctor, and I met him, and from the second he walked in we loved him. His energy is positive, attentive, and relatable. After examination he assured me he could make huge improvements with only a fraction of the recovery and time off work ( I am a fitness instructor) as my first 2 surgeries. It seemed like it was definitely worth a try. Its now been 2 weeks post op, and while the final results are still weeks away, the initial results are nothing short of a miracle. One of the things I noticed on the reviews were women who had undergone reconstruction with BPS and said they got their confidence back. I concur. It is so unbelievable that I am at times scared to look in the mirror because its almost too good to be true. The follow up care has been great. Summer, Dr. Hartley's nurse, is warm, caring and goes out of her way to make sure you are at ease. All of staff is great, and they always run on time. What's more is while my other doctor would refuse to talk next steps if needed or give me a sense of options, at my follow-up Dr. Hartley gave me reassurance that if small imperfections immerge he already has a plan to fix that as well. I am not sure I have enough thank yous in me for Dr. Hartley and his staff. If this is what he can do for reconstruction I can only imagine how amazing his general work is. It is hard for me to imagine there is another doctor more skilled in CO. If you are a reconstruction patient on the fence and feeling defeated, look no further. If you are trying to decide on any plastic surgery, look no further, not even to CA. :-)
