Had a mini tummy tuck and breast reduction done. The only reason I had the mini one, he said, was due to a prior surgery that I had. Well, Dr.Gaston asked that I pay him in cash (ask that I slip it in an envelope under the office door over the weekend before surgery day or else no surgery) and I never did receive a receipt from his assistant. I never saw him prior to the actual surgery at St.Mary's (except for that 1 office consultation in which he also took pics) nor after when I was in the hospital.
The only other time I saw him was when I went back to remove the tubes (collecting blood & other).
I would like to add that I had a massive anxiety attack while at the hospital because the bandaging around my chest was so tight (breast reduction) that I couldn't breathe properly. The nurse refused to loosen it until she heard from the doctor which of course we never did. I had to ask the nurse to give me scissors and I loosened the bandages enough so I could breathe. Way to go staff and doctor Schwarz !!
Additionally, the tummy tuck is crooked. On the right side it is great. The hanging skin was completely removed. But on the left side, he was gracious enough to leave me with 2 inches of hanging ugly skin. I did bring this to his attention when I went back to remove the tubes to which he had said that I needed to wait to heal in order to have a revision at an extra cost. So much for taking responsibility for work. I guess he has no pride either.
More so and no surprise. On my breast reduction, the performed the anchor method. He reduced the size (the circle circumference) of my areolas and then sewed them back. Except this guy doesn't know how to make circles, let alone 2 identical ones. So now as you can imagine, I am left with 2 difference size areolas and they are not circular but 1 is octagonal and the other more like a trapeze. Very sexy.
It really takes a special kind of narcissist to take your hard earned money and not give a hoot about how you are & feel post-op. BTW, I am more than willing to post pics of my before and after surgery so everyone can see the leftover sagging stomach and non matching breasts.
Do yourself a favour and do not go under the knife with this guy. Don't gamble with your body and don't trust easily. This guy has a brother also plastic surgeon that apparently was really good but he retired (he is much older than Gaston). Don't confuse the two.
I took the time to write this long comment and was open about my experience. I hope it helps someone not make the same mistake I did.
P.S. When I arrived at St.Mary's for admittance, they asked me to pay for fees not covered for the tummy tuck (e.i.: half the cost of the aneasthesia, etc) because only the fees for the breast reduction was covered. The thing is, those so called fees should have been covered in the money I paid. Allow me to add that paying in cash did not provide me with a special rate. I was naive and he took advantage of me in every way a doctor can with a patient.
