I met with Dr. Ford for a consultation after being referred to him by a friend. Dr. Ford’s office staff was incredible, professional, organized and helpful. My consultation addressed all aspects of the procedure I was inquiring about. Dr. Ford took the time and answered all of my questions and concerns, showed me pictures of the surgical facility and showed me photos of my expected results. “Before” pictures were taken and I booked my surgical appointment. On February 7/19 I had a full abdominoplasty done. When I was taken to my recovery room (which was absolutely beautiful) I could see the results of my surgery and knew immediately I had made the right decision. Their office arranged for Home Care visits to monitor my incision and to make sure I was healing appropriately. My recovery period was uncomplicated, and both Dr Ford and myself are so happy with my results. I am now eight weeks post-op and I am beyond satisfied with my results and this procedure has been life changing for me. I have confidently referred a couple of friends to consult with Dr Ford for procedures that they are considering. Thank you so much Dr Ford and your entire surgical and office team.

After surviving stage 3 breast cancer, and a mastectomy of the right breast, I considered removal of my left breast and total reconstruction. Dr. Ford came highly recommended from my surgeon. After meeting with Dr. Ford I felt extremely comfortable in my decision to have reconstruction surgery. My left breast would be removed and an expander put in. On my right side I went with latissimus dorsi flap which in simple terms is using muscle, skin, blood vessels etc from my back shoulder to create a new breast. The whole procedure from start to finish would take about 6 months; from surgeries (with the fantastic staff at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa) to "pumping" the expanders to final surgery of putting in implants. Dr Ford is a knowledgeable, kind, talented plastic surgeon and I couldn't be happier with the results. I feel comfortable in my own skin. I would highly recommend Dr. Ford for any of your plastic surgery needs.

I am from the Durham Region and was enrolled in the High Risk Breast Assessment Clinic in the Oshawa Hospital and with a strong family history of breast cancer I decided to have a double mastectomy and Dr. Ford came highly recommended by my surgeon. I consulted with Dr. Ford for an upper and lower blepharoplasty several months ago. He was very professional, gentle, and thoughtful. I brought my husband, also a physician, to the consultation, and he was impressed with Dr. Ford's thoroughness - we never felt rushed and were pleased with the consult. I decided to make a second appointment for Botox. When I returned to Dr Ford's office, I waited for my appointment and to my surprise, Dr Ford came out to let me know he was running a little late and apologized. I was struck by how he respects his patients as people with lives of our own. When my turn came, he took his time carefully administering the Botox injections (I am very happy that he does the injections rather than a nurse in his office). I had his full attention and again - there was no rush - and I was able to ask him more questions about blepharoplasty. I am really pleased with Dr Ford. My husband feels assured that he is a meticulous and skilled surgeon and with that, I have booked my blepharoplasty appointment. I should also add that the office staff have been nothing short of professional, friendly and reassuring. I also like that none of them have that frightening frozen plastic look that many PS office staff tend to acquire (I have been to numerous offices, for consultations.)

When I was 16 I noticed a lump in my left breast, I had it surgically removed and found out it was not cancer. The doctor I had then said my breasts would grow and would become regular and be the same size. And my right breast did grow, my left did not, so there I was a teenager who hated wearing swim suits or any tight shirts in front of anyone terrified they’d notice. At almost 19 I hated my body and rarely wore anything revealing. It took a toll on my mental health to look down and see the big difference and know that if I saw it so did everyone else! My mother and I spoke to our family doctor, the surgeon who did the procedure and nobody had any ideas on how to help, until I believe it was sick kids (I had gone there my whole life for other reasons, plus they’d been the ones to say my lump was not cancerous.) suggested to look into getting cosmetic surgery and gave us the name of doctor Ford. We called doctor Fords office after researching and booked an appointment, I was in there a few weeks later and we talked about ideas on what he would want to do and how it would help my self esteem! I was so happy to think I could finally where normal clothing and not baggy sweaters all the time. We booked the surgery for like a month later maybe two because I was still in college just getting to the end of that year and he was booked up. But one day we got a phone call he’s had a cancellation and asked if we could be in there in a couple of days for the surgery. Talk about timing! I’d literally just gotten back from staying a week at a family members house watching her dog and faking a bit of daycare for her, and to come home and literally the next day go to the hospital for a few hours for the consultation. Then the following day I was there early in the morning (it was like 9:00 it wasn’t that early) and the process began. First I saw a few nurses who went over what I was having done and if I was still okay with it, next they sat me in a room to prepare me for the surgery and to change, then doctor Ford came over took me aside and drew all over me to get and idea of what he was doing and to have it drawn out, for when he and I were in the surgery, they then moved me into a waiting room with a few other people and a girl who was my age! We talked for a bit. I got in there for the surgery and everyone was so supportive and made sure I was calm. I don’t remember much else after lying down on the table and then waking up in a hospital bed. (There is one part I remember waking up in recovery and being asked if I wanted tylenol or something and being handed it and a cup of water and just swallowing them dry and my inner self was like what are you doing!) I know my family was saying I had been nauseous and stuff but it all comes with the territory of having anesthesia for me. But I stayed there a little longer so the nurses could keep an eye on me. They were so worried I got to use a bed pan to pee! Something to check of my bucket list there! But then we went home and I saw doctor Ford a day later so he could look at everything (all was good) and I went in a few days after that and he was happy everything was already healing! He removed a bit of the gauze a couple days after that and then it was my job to let the surgical tape fall off while doing normal things. And it did and no it didn’t hurt, that’s what I was scared of! I was told to visit him at his office a month later, I did those visits regularly so he could take pictures of my healing process and then last week he took the last pictures of a year and two months after the surgery and now fully healed barely any noticeable scars and amazing results! My breast are no longer something I hide, (not that I flaunt them) but I wear dresses, t-shirts and I am ready for this summer because I have bathing suits galore which as a 20 year old is the best! Anyway that’s my experience and if you are looking into it for any reason do it! Best thing ever! Thank you Dr Ford!

If you are considering any plastic surgery, Dr. Ford is the best. I have had quite a few procedures done by him: breast reduction, abdominoplasty and liposuction. I am so happy to say that Dr. Ford exceeded my expectations. I had been thinking about getting a breast lift with implants for over 10 years. I finally decided I was ready! I had quite a few consultations over the years at various places (some were better than others) but at no point did I ever have a feeling that without a doubt I found “the one” Something I found interesting from most of my other consultations was that I never really met with the doctor. It was usually the assistant or even receptionist that would talk to me about what I wanted, take all the measurements and provide pricing. I was presently surprised to find that my consultation that was booked at Dr Ford’s Oshawa location was actually with Dr Ford. He was very kind and spent over an hour with me talking about what I wanted to achieve and what would be involved to get me there. He took measurements and photos. He listened to me and I never felt he was trying to upsell me. I love the fact that this office is completely transparent with pricing, you can get a good idea of cost on their website or by calling and speaking to one of their very helpful and friendly receptionists. I can’t say enough about his staff and how helpful they have been. When I left my consultation I called my husband from the parking lot and told him “I found the one” that I was booking right away, and I did as soon as I got home. It has only been one week since my surgery. I am beyond happy with my results, Dr Ford’s work has surpassed my expectations so much so that I have just scheduled another procedure with him. Derek Ford did my upper & lower eyelid surgery in July 2018. I am 46yrs old and have young children. I had thought of doing this for almost 10 years since I really felt my eyes are what made me feel and look "aged". He was referred to me by a few doctors whom I trusted implicitly - and had been the first name they had given to me to do this surgery for many years. I was settled after our first and only meeting that I would go forward with the surgery, and felt I did not need a second opinion. I knew what I wanted, and I was as confident as I could be that he would be able to deliver my expectations. It has been 2 months, and I am thrilled. I look my age, but do not have tired and wrinkled eyes that I always felt made me appear older than I am. After losing 240lbs (not a typo!) I sought out Dr Ford re my excess skin issues, he came to my attention as I was visiting Lakeridge Oshawa for a totally different reason and during pre surgery check, one of the nurses commented on my weight loss and asked if I was going to follow up with plastics and mentioned `our own` Dr Ford as being extremely good at his work. I met with Dr Ford at the Oshawa office and his warm gentle demeanor made me completely at ease, even looking in the full length mirror, naked. We spoke of expectations and outcomes and he was totally professional in what would work best for me, never pushing me to have `more`. We agreed on treatment, a breast reduction, liposuction, a fleur de lis and abdominoplasty, his back office team, diligently applied to OHIP for coverage of part of the costs to which I was successful. The operation went off well, I did experience a `bleed` which needed me to go back to the operating room, but this was handled without drama and stress free and just over a year post op, I am absolutely thrilled with the outcomes. So much so, I had further procedures in December 2016, elective surgery at his Toronto suites, again we discussed my needs, my expectations and booked for bilateral brachioplasty and lateral chest reduction. The suites are clean, warm and inviting, the or room has windows high but you are able to see out, which was so nice. Dr Ford, was welcoming and going over the operation and good instructions for after care and seeing me before I left, giving me a personal contact number for him, which I used once when I needed, and which he was so reassuring as I apologized and he `thanked` me for calling. The whole Dr Ford experience is one of positivity, he and his office work as a team, and yes, you have to wait for appointments and when you have an appointment your likely to wait a while, rarely seen on time, but Dr Ford, listens, there is no rush, he gives you all the time you need and he is honestly worth the wait. I would like to mention Catherine, the quiet in `my storm` who is able to listen without judgment, who files all the paper work, who makes the schedules, whom I spent time speaking to so much over the phone it was great to finally meet her. Not with the service or generosity..because he seems like such a great guy. but with the end results and over all appearances. I recently had a "tummy tuck". During the weeks prior to the surgery Dr. Ford's staff were her professional, reassuring and knowledgeable. They reassured me every time i called that my questions were valid and important. Post-op I had a small issue which concerned the in home care/nurse. Dr. Ford responded quickly when she calked and gave instructions to correct the issue. Dr. Ford also called me at home with follow up to see if what he advised was working. I have felt safe and reassured throughout this whole process. I'm not sure yet how my results will look as I am still swollen, but without a doubt I will be consulting with Dr. Ford for my 2nd procedure.

He has exceptional surgical skills, is a kind and compassionate doctor and takes a very genuine interest in changing the lives of his patients through surgical procedure. He won’t make false promises of unrealistic results. I found Dr. Ford’s office through the luck of geography about ten years ago and am very happy with my results. Procedures: • Nose tip construction (using ear cartilage) • Carpal tunnel surgery • Scar tissue/lesion removal in leg • Breast augmentation and lift - I selected very modest and natural looking implants. Dr. Ford spent a good amount of time ensuring the shape, size, placement and look I wanted. He told me what to expect every step of the way, how they would change over time post-operatively and has always been accessible to answer questions before and after surgery. The surgical facility in Yorkville is lovely and his team are thoughtful and caring professionals. One visit here and you will know that you are in skilled and capable hands. It's a major surgery not only from a medical point of view but also from a psychological aspect.
