Product review of sunscreen called Fifth Element, a broad spectrum with SPF 50+ in a Porcelain Matte. It has zinc in it and is a thick cream, so I've found it goes on better when added to my moisturizer. It will also last a very long time as you don't need much to get the coverage you need. Also, it has a bit of tint in it that matches with your skin tone.

I've been seeing Dr. Lubitz for various issues over the past few years. He is professional, very thorough and all of his staff are friendly, courteous and caring. Due to complex conditions that he sees on a routine basis; there may be some waiting before your appointment. This is hardly ever longer than 10 - 15 minutes (staff do a great job reminding patients of this in their appointment confirmation emails, on their website, and notices posted in the patient rooms & shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone). That being said, I'm usually into an exam room within 5 minutes of arriving. There was one time I can remember in the past 8 + years that I've been treated by Dr. Lubitz that I had to wait about 40 minutes. This was completely understandable, as a very complex case had just come in before me (imagine an elderly patient wheeled in and bandaged from head to toe). When it was time for my appointment, the Dr. acknowledged the wait time and apologized. Dr. Lubitz has successfully treated & cured me from a variety of skin ailments (including acne) and I will be forever grateful, as it changed my life. I can now leave the house sans make-up with wonderfully clear skin - something I hadn't been able to do since I was a pre - teen; what a marvelous feeling at 40! I highly recommend Art of Skin if you're in need of a dermatologist in the Bow Valley and beyond.

Do your research before going to Dr. Lubitz! After waiting for months to get in, I was hesitant to book an appointment as I had read multiple negative reviews. Unfortunately, this is the only skin doctor in my area. Once I finally got in, he was pleasant to me and was knowledgable, but had no respect for his nurses. He treated them like uneducated servants and even made one of them cry while I was there. There was another woman (the only employee out of uniform) parading around, yelling at staff, she must have been the manager. I can only imagine what goes on when they do not have patients in the clinic. After my experience, I asked around and found out that they are notorious for treating staff (and even some patients) poorly. I also discovered that they do not put serious medical cases like cancer on priority if they have cash paying patients to book ($$$ greedy). If you want botox or lipo, great because they can make big money from it. If you have cancer, too bad. They will call you when they feel like it. I know more than one person who found out they had skin cancer from their GP while they had been waiting for weeks to hear from Art of Skin. It makes sense now that the doctor spent most of my appointment telling me I needed my varicose veins looked at and told me that all my imperfections could be fixed with lasers or some other treatment or cream. Of course, none of them are covered by health care. I didn't even go to him for those reasons, it was all up-selling. This was a miserable experience and I left feeling like they just wanted my money. I will not be going back and I will most certainly warn all my friends to stay away. Make the drive to Calgary if you can.

Two weeks later I called them to follow-up and was told again that I would get a call back (never did). I then left a message through the website, and again...nothing. Terrible communication.

When I was living in Calgary it was impossible to get an appointment with a dermatologist so even though I previously had skin cancer I had not had a proper check up in years. When I moved to Canmore I started seeing Dr. Lubitz. He found a number of suspicious moles that needed to be biopsied and removed. One turned out to be Melanoma which is a very scary word for anyone. This was on the side of my nose and quite a bit of tissue needed to be removed so it was quite a complicated procedure. Dr. Lubitz made sure the scarring was minimal - in fact he did such a good job that my friends cannot tell that I had surgery. Through this process I felt very well cared for by Dr. Lubitz and his staff. What could have been a very difficult process was not, thanks to the excellent care I received. I hope I do not have melanoma again since I am now checked regularly, but if I do, I am glad Dr. Lubitz will be here to remove it.

I was referred to dr. Lubitz by my physician to examine the painful sun sensitivity that I experience on my neck. He referred me to his wife ( who works with him) because it was apparently a cosmetic procedure. She suggested that for $100 more I could also get my face treated for sun damage. After 2 treatments on my face and neck and $945.00, I expressed concern that the equipment or operator were not functioning properly because there was zero sensation while receiving the laser pulse treatment and more important, zero evidence of the usual skin response to receiving the treatment. Mrs lubitz then proceeded to tell me it was because I must suddenly be using advanced moisture skin cream, OR experienced a sudden high pain tolerance since the treatment the month before, OR because of my age I wasn't responding OR blah blah blah!! I have never experienced such a litany of excuses, indifference to my concerns and no attempt by either Dr Lubitz or his wife to satisfy my questions or respect how I felt about the situation. Their lack of professionalism and credibility leaves me feeling frustrated, hurt and angry over my experience and I hope no other patient becomes a victim to the way they conduct their business.

Terrible experience. Staff said conflicting information about treatments. The laser badly burned my face during rosacea treatment and I had to miss 4 days of work. The staff was not apologetic at all and made it seem like it was my fault they burned me. No discount offered after. After sharing my story with others at my work I heard a few other horror stories about this place.

I have been seeing Dr.Lubitz for many years regarding different skin concerns. Most recently have been bothered by the amount of large blood vessels on my face and decided to get them treated. Mallory did 1 laser treatment and the results were outstanding. My wife and children were amazed at what the 1 treatment did. She is incredible at what she does. I went back for a 2nd session to clean up the last few blood vessels with Mallory and highly recommend Dr.Lubitz and his professional staff for any skin concerns.

I was originally referred by my family doctor in 2020. My family doctor wrote a letter which Dr. Lubitz and staff refer to. I am so impressed by the level of proficiency, care and communication (by Dr. Lubitz and medical team) that I am getting all conditions that I can treated here. The office is set up to be "spa" comfortable, quiet and with patient privacy ensured. This is one aspect of healing; it's reassuring to know they consider this. Dr. Lubitz really cares about people and provides more than the basics: he is a surgeon, vein treatment specialist, creator of a line of skin care products and teaching doctor. Sunscreen is the most important thing you can do for your skin and he created a very effective sunscreen for our harsh mountain weather that even people with rosacea can use without reaction. Minor issues are also addressed...based on recommendation by a nurse; I bought an inexpensive lotion I use nightly to have soft feet, even in our harsh winter months. Every visit, I am surprised and impressed by the level of compassion Dr. Lubitz and his team - a rare thing to see these days.
