Best Experience !! I had BA 1 month ago and the results are better then I imagined. Dr. KARA and his team at Scarborough and Whitby are professional and truly genuine towards me during this process. I did years of research leading up to this surgery and met a ton of doctors, and I can say "I'm proud of my decision and LOVE Dr. Kara's work!" I healed fast and was back to my life in a day! I have 2 small kids under 3 years old and was able to still be mom while recovering. Thank you to Melissa for making my dream a reality and having patience while I decided on a size!! I had a full tummy tuck 4 months ago by Dr. Kara. I was very nervous about this procedure and recovery as I hadn't known anyone who had had it done. The pre-appointments were very informative and helpful so I decided to go ahead. Now almost 5 months post op I couldn't be happier with my decision. The surgery went well, the recovery was far easier than what I had envisioned and the results exceed what I was hoping for. My clothes fit normally again, I can workout without excess 'stuff' getting in the way and my overall confidence has improved immensely. If I had any complaints it would be some of the excessive wait times on a couple of the appointments with Dr. Kara. However, as an apology to one they offered me a free facial. You can't expect better customer service than that. I would definitely recommend this procedure and Dr. Kara

Last year 2020, I went for a small mole removal, the mole was 2 inches below my sternal notch. I wasn't happy because it turned into a keloid bigger than the mole that was removed. It is not good where it is situated. Everyone who sees it is asking about it. I don't think I like to go back in the Whitby location.

She was super thorough at making sure she knew the exact 'look' I was wanted and then mapping out my face, and making different suggestions, before proceeding. At 25 years old I was self consious of my 'geriatric breasts'. I possessed ptosis and deflation even though I was a young, nulliparous, university student. Dr. Kara suggested I utilize extra high profile implants subglandularly to provide me with the volume I needed and give me the exact look I desired, without having to go through a mastopexy. An hour after my surgery I went shopping in Toronto and was functioning in a relatively normal routine by the next day. Dr. Kara has years of experience and his surgical skills are paramount.

Don't go here. I had a horrible experience here. The woman that injected my face did not know what she was doing. My face looked deformed for 5 months. I went back to talk to doctor Kara, he did nothing. He is a butcher that hires people without proper credentials to inject unsuspecting patients. This place needs to be investigated. The staff is wonderful, friendly, kind and very welcoming. Everyone is knowledgeable regarding their procedures the clinic has to offer, and any of the products that you can use at home. They take their time and explain all options for a beautiful result; what you can expect immediately and techniques that you can do at home, such as using their skin care line, to achieve desired, flawless skin. My skin has never looked this great, many thanks to Katerina, Anna and Dr. Berry for getting my skin (and lips lol) to my desired look. If anyone is looking to get anything done, this is the one place I highly recommend. Cozy atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, honesty and a great outcome, why would you go anywhere else?

I had BA in December 2011 and couldnt be happier. I started the process of research in October and came accross Dr Kara and his 24 hour BA. I booked consultations with a few surgeons but Dr Kara won out hands down. I met with his consultant Melissa and she was very knowledable, answering all my questions with ease. She helped pick a size that she knew I would be happy with. I had the surgery Dec 15 and definitly within 24 hours was back to near normal. I didnt even need to take all the pain meds perscribed. Within hours of the surgery I felt almost normal. I think the effects of anthestic was worse then the surgery! My follow up appts have gone very well and from the start Dr Kara has been most professional and patient. THe 24 hour surgery is so true. I was sceptical but it really was great. The only "pain" I had was tightness, much like when your milk first comes in after child birth. (I think that was more painful) I would do this again with Dr Kara in a heartbeat!

I am so happy with my non-surgical nose job. I was in an abusive marriage and had it broken many times. I wanted it fixed, but I didn't want surgery. Well, today I have my nose back, thanks to Nurse Cheska. She is kind, professional, extremely knowledgeable and just a wonderful person in general. She has a gentle nature and is very comforting. She answered my questions and addressed my concerns succinctly. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for non-surgical facial changes. It changed my life, I feel so much more confident.

I came to Dr. Kara's office to discuss the removal of fat from my neck and chin. I didn't want to do anything that was too invasive. We all came to the conclusion that I was a good candidate for liposuction and iGuide. Dr. Kara's staff were very knowledgeable, so I was able to decide on this procedure in minutes rather than hours or days. Dr. Kara is one of the few Plastic Surgeons that performs the iGuide procedure in the GTA. I agreed to have the surgery done but with a local anesthetic! The surgery took place at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough, (now called Rouge Valley Health System). Dr. Kara had an Operating Room inside his suite at the hospital, so I didn't have to deal with all the hospital's Red Tape. The Operating Room was very modern and super clean. As I mentioned,I elected to only have a local anesthetic. I would say, that I felt little or no pain for 90 percent of the procedure. I felt discomfort for around 5 percent of the procedure and severe pain for about 5 percent of the procedure. To me it was a fair trade-off because I did not have to worry about experiencing the side-effects that come after general anesthesia. I was able to get off the operating table on my own with no assistance right after the surgery. Plus, I felt quite comfortable on the operating table. Still, I think that most people would be better off having general anesthesia because that 5 percent of pain can be severe. Mind you, throughout the procedure, Dr. Kara and his nurse were quite comforting and reassuring. They would speak to me throughout the procedure. If I found part of the procedure too painful, Dr. Kara would ease up. Overall, the surgery went quite well. There was a fair amount of swelling but very little bruising. This is interesting because I take daily aspirin and I did not stop taking aspirin prior to the procedure. Dr. Kara was skillful enough to avoid major bruising. I also recommend that people use Arnica Cream or Jell right after the surgery to minimize the swelling and bruising. The Arnica seems to make a big difference. Dr. Kara clearly indicates in his written instructions, what you should and shouldn't take before and after surgery. I am writing this a week after my surgery and I can tell you that I already see the difference. After only 1 week, I feel no pain and there is very little bruising and swelling on my face, neck and jaw. Mind you, I had severe pain after the local anesthesia wore off. Dr. Kara was kind enough to provide me with sufficient painkillers to deal with this. I found the first 24 hours after the surgery to be excruciatingly painful. After that, most of the pain vanished! I had no infection from the surgery whatsoever. There were absolutely no complications from this surgery. I attribute all of this to Dr. Kara's skill and ability. Can't really say enough good things about the quality of care that I received from Dr. Kara and his staff. All my questions and concerns were promptly addressed by Melissa Aldridge or Dr. Kara. I cannot rate on services as I have not had any yet but I found the administrative staff prompt, friendly and very informative. To discuss cool sculpting, it doesn't matter who the doctor is.... If you do some reading this procedure is known not to work unless you're meeting it halfway. Diet and exercise... Machines can only go to far. And the other negative review was about spending thousands and returning for years? If someone screwed my Botox up once, I would not go back. Something is not adding up. I'll be back soon to book my appointment.

I have gone to the Whitby clinic for the clarity treatment for my roseaca. I purchased a package from Sharon and she has done an amazing job. I have noticed a significant reduction in the red and the brown pigment of my face and chest. The location is easily accessible, clean and the procedure is affordable. Sharon, is very kind and helpful and does a great job explaining the treatments. I would recommend her and the procedure to both my mother and daughter. You will not be disappointed. I have not experienced any downtime and noticed immediate results.

The administrative difficulties I've had with this office are laughable and completely unprofessional. I can't properly rate services as I've received only one treatment if the 3 I've paid for (they talked me into paying up front because there is a price break at 3). They've rescheduled my treatments 3 times for different reasons. Today, I received a call that my nurse is booked for another surgery on my procedure date. Why would you book a nurse for a procedure when you already have mine on the books?? I'm supposed to have a treatment every 4 weeks for best results. They are not fulfilling their obligation to provide a service for which I've paid. I'm not going to get the results I paid for, in the time frame I paid for. Clearly this office has zero respect for patients time and, is not focused on wellness. Unfortunately, there are few options for cosmetic procedures in Durham region. I would advise anybody looking for cosmetic treatments to find somewhere else.

Stay away from this doctor. He took my money, will not pay it back, and is now MIA. He is a scammer that is only out for your money. No return calls or emails. He moved my surgery 3 times, with no good reason until it was finally canceled with no refund. Please do your research and find a good Surgeon. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. I phoned their office and asked if they removed facial moles... they said they did and set up a consultation appointment. We live out of town. We went in, had the appointment, she said no problem it would be $500 and sent us out front to book it. They told me they would call me with the date. Well, 2 weeks went by, so very called them back and left a message. No one called, the next week I called again, left another message, again, no one called back. The following week I called again, finally got someone on the phone just to be told they couldn’t remove it because it would leave a scar. I was livid that they had wasted my time and no one got back to me. 2 weeks later I had my mole removed by another Doctor and the Dr said because it was on the chin line, their would no scar. And their isn’t...it looks great and I was only charged $150.

After 8 years I am finally posting. I had breast implants and a tummy tuck. I had originally asked for a breast lift, but was talked in to implants by Dr Kara. Surgery went well. After 2 weeks I developed terrible ulcers from the tummy tuck and Dr Kara said he may have tightened the skin too much. At this appointment he did not check my breast implants and I had to remimd him. 2 weeks after this, more ulcers on my abdomen. 2 months or maybe a bit more, terrible pain in my breasts and I had the implants removed. For "more money" I scheduled a breast lift" and gave my deposit. Shortly after this my pubic bone protruded so badly from the tight tummy tuck that I decided I know longer trusted Dr Kara to do the breast lift and asked for my deposit back. I eventually had to see a lawyer to get my money back, the excuse was "we are terribly slow right now therefore low on funds". To this day I cannot wear any clothing that is tight on my abdomen because my pubic bone protrudes so much. This being said, perhaps I should have done more research and had more consults. I must say, his employees are wonderful

I decided to visit Dr Kara in March 2019 for a second opinion on a cosmetic surgery performed 2 years ago by another Dr. After some minor complications, my original dr did not feel that any action was necessary which I wasn’t comfortable with, so I sought out a second opinion. I visited Dr Kara’s Toronto Office where I was greeted by warm, friendly staff who made me feel welcome and very comfortable. After about a 15 min wait, I was taken to a private room to discuss my concern with the physician assistant Shelby who was knowledgeable, took her time with me, addressed all my concerns, and didn’t make me feel like I was wasting her time - keep in mind, my initial procedure was not done by Dr Kara, yet they still took the time to treat me as if I was an original patient! Anyhow, after her initial assessment, Shelby asked Dr Kara to see me, which he did at no charge. He was friendly, discussed my concern with me and didn’t seem to be in a rush or bothered by my visit. Rather than suggest a revision surgery which would have cost me money and made him money, he suggested I try an alternate method to try to correct my issue and suggested that I book a 3 month follow up appointment so they can monitor me. I was very impressed by the whole experience and questioned whether my choice in my original doctor was the best choice. I would highly recommend seeing Dr Kara. I only gave 4 stars in my review because a) I’d like to see how this alternate method works out, and b) I can’t comment on his actual work as I didn’t have a procedure done by him, however, if I were to have another procedure done, I would absolutely see him first. Dr Kara and his staff have been extremely helpful and supportive. I had BA 25 years ago with a doctor in Peterborough. I have live with severe encapsulation for most of that time. Dr. Kara has taken be through the removal and recovery and I have never been happier. I have called and asked advise on several occasions and have always felt like my questions/concerns were treated with respect and caring. I went to Rouge Hospital for a consultation with Dr. Kara for breast reduction. The nurse there was very nice and gave me all the information. But Dr. Kara was a very condescending and rude person. He looked for one second and then told me to go have a bunch of kids, serve the purpose of what they are made for(basically called me a cow at this point). I went there for a doctor’s consultation, not his misogynistic personal opinion. The other thing I realized is because I asked if it was covered under OHIP, he maybe was under the impression that I did not have enough money to scam, and that’s why was not interested in providing me with proper consultation. I highly recommend any woman looking for these services to not waste time with this guy.

My experience with Dr.Kara was an excellent one. From the first day, Gina always assured me that I was in right hands and followed up with me every step of the way. Since she shared her experience with me, it made me feel more comfortable with the operation.The surgery went better than I expected, and the other nurses present at the time of surgery were very helpful and made me feel at ease. Although I had to wait a while the procedure was painless. I went home immediately after and was surprised at how quick the recovery time was. I am happy with the results as now my abdomen is more contoured ( I had a liposuction). Going for a tummy tuck was something I considered for many years. Thanks goodness I choice Dr. Kara to do this procedure. From the very beginning I was made to feel very comfortable. Justine answered all my questions and laid to rest any concerns that I had. She stayed in contact with me the whole way. I just recently had a mommy make over on December 5th with Dr.Kara. From beginning to end I couldn't of asked for a better team! from day one I was introduced to Melissa whom is one of Dr. Kara's treatment coordinator as I would call her. She had made me feel comfortable and relaxed, she answered every questioned I had and answered with now hesitation, she insured me that I was in good hands, I had access to her number incase of any emergencies and she was very prompt with following up and making sure I was ok. Without her I don't know what I would've done so thank you. As for Dr. Kara, he is an amazing surgeon. You can tell he puts his patients first, he does not rush you out of the room, he listens and if anything goes wrong like a infection as I had one he addesses it right away. For only two weeks after my surgery my incisions and the work done on me is amazing and I can't wait until the swelling goes away.

I had a breast augmentation 8 years ago with Dr. Kara. My recovery was quick...I remember taking a nap when I got home from surgery and feeling back to normal afterwards. Over the years, my implants have held up beautifully, and I have never had any issues. The staff at the time was so amazing. In fact, I credit them for my decision to go into nursing and starting a whole new career. I have recommended Dr. Kara time and time again, and have had friends go to him with great results as well. While I can't speak to his other areas of expertise, if you're looking for a breast augmentation with a fast recovery and beautiful, long lasting results, you have found the right surgeon with Dr. Kara.

I had a BA last Dec that turned bad quickly. By my 2 month check up i was already “bottoming out”. A condition I did not know could even happen…this possibility was NEVER explained to me. He promised he would remove the implants then have a second surgery to make a smaller pocket, internal mesh and smaller implant. His staff rescheduled my appointments several times, always last minute, and now he is nowhere to be found! His offices in Scarborough and Whitby are closed, they are not responding to any of my messages, when you call the office # it rings a few times then goes dead, his IG is gone. I’ve tried to work with them to get this corrected…all I’ve gotten is the run around and now he’s disappeared. My situation is getting worse, I’m getting pain and the implants are still dropping….its very uncomfortable and i look and feel disfigured. I am ???? worse now then when I started this voyage with him. I get nauseous and dizzy when I even speak his name now….i’m truly traumatized. I just want this fixed. Please stop hiding Dr.Kara! Be a man and face the path of destruction you have left for me, and from reading other reviews, for several other women. I was backed into this corner and had no choice but to leave this review in hopes that you will at least try to rectify your mistakes. Please contact me asap.

They are horrible. I have purchased a block of facials and I have tried to book appointment to get the facials done but they canceled on me a few times. One time I went for my appointment I was told the technician was not there and they did not bother to call me to cancel. Now I am trying to book appointments their office is closed and their phone line is not working. Very disappointing. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY to this doctor.

My Grandmother had a chemical peel done with Dr. Kara last year. I thought she was crazy! The recovery time was several days to weeks and it was a pretty intense peel. Wow was I wrong to question it. She is so happy with how she looks and feels. My grandmother is 73 years old and looks like she is in her 50's. Dr. Kara and his staff walked her through every step of the process, gave her explicit instructions to follow for her at home care, and gave her excellent care in their office weekly for several weeks after the procedure. I would recommend Dr. Kara and his staff to anyone.

Whitby location ripped me off. I had Botox done there by MJ in March 2018. She did a fabulous job and the results lasted way longer than usual as I have been doing botox on my frown lines for 8 year. I went again Nov 2018 and after spending more than the last time but got very little results. After going back to inquire as to why the Botox was not working they wanted me to spend another $380 for more Botox on top of the previous $380 I already paid!!! Are you kidding!? I've never had to get that many 'units' ever. It made no sense. I complained to a male doctor who said he would review my file and call me back in a few days. He never bothered. I have realized for my self what happened. They told me they switched to "Dysport" instead of "Botox" but had said it is the same thing. Well if you research it, I now understand you do need DOUBLE the units to have the same effect as Botox. Dysport is cheaper for the doctor to buy but Dr. Kara's office is not passing the savings on to the clients. It's a dirty, dishonest way to make people spend more money. Now I know why they didn't call back... because they screwed me big time. Dr. Kara does not work out of the Whitby office to my knowledge anymore and the care and attention to client has gone downhill fast!!! Iall that seems to matter is how much $$$$ they can get out of you.

This place and man disgust me. I had surgery done with him (an augmentation) and he was so sweet until he got my money and things didn't go as expected. He tried to pawn me off to another surgeon in the US to fix HIS mistake!! I saw surgeons here for second opinions and all of them agreed he should be fixing this. He avoided my calls and emails until I finally got an appointment and that was his solution, to wipe his hands of me!!! I was recommended this place by a friend who had surgery there years ago but i'm guessing she hasn't been in there recently because no one knows what they're doing, everyone is new and Dr. Kara is a money hungry thief!!! I ended up spending the money and going with an actual REPUTABLE surgeon to fix HIS mistake and now i'm happy. Stay away from this place and doctor...if you can even call him that!!!

I had breast augmentation surgery on September 14th and I could not be happier. Dr. Kara and his team are incredibly pleasant, fun and knowledgeable. I had my surgery on a Saturday and the following day I took my kids to the park by myself, went on a long walk and was back to my everyday duties with the exception of lifting anything heavy. I couldn’t believe how great the recovery was. I was a bit sore, I compared it to when my breastmilk came in but that only lasted a few days. Zehra is my nurse and has been at all of my appointments – she is absolutely wonderful!! She makes me feel so comfortable and always has a smile on her face. She called me in the afternoon after my surgery to see how I was doing and Dr. Kara called me himself as well that evening. They started to drop slowly and now at almost 3 months post-op, I am so happy with them!! I have been going for the laser scar removal treatments as well, I’ve had two and they have made such a difference, although the scar is so minimal to begin with. They offered me a numbing cream to do before the laser but I passed, it is literally like a little pinch and the laser only takes about 5 seconds each side. They are great with accommodating for appointments, I live an hour and a half away so they always get me booked in the evening or weekend. I highly recommend Dr. Kara and his team!!!

I am in my early 70’s and therefore have age-related issues, i.e. sunken tear trough, naso-labial lines, jowls beginning to sag, thinning lips. Gabriella my nurse-injector addressed each of these areas of concern with a light touch and a keen eye. By the end of the session, I was amazed at the transformation. The hollows under my eyes were gone, my jawline, beautifully contoured, my lips had the same, natural fullness as in my youth. I couldn’t believe this simple procedure could have produced such dramatic and immediate results. A week later, as everything settled, the results became even more apparent. It was like the gift that kept on giving.The clinic staff was friendly and helpful and Dr Kara, who oversaw the procedure was extremely supportive. To say the least, I am thrilled. Highly recommend.

I am 50 yrs old and went to Dr. Kara's for a BA consultation, Samantha was so knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable I booked my size & procedure that night! I had my surgery Oct 29, 2019 and it was the best decision I ever made. I have such great encounters with Dr. Kara and my nurse Zehra, they both go over everything very thorough and take such great care of you! Surgery day was a breeze with Zehra by my side, I was home and out shopping same day, no pain at all. I am now 2 months pre-op and feel/look great!! I am getting Co2 laser done for my scars which is making them look awesome, they actually weren't even bad to begin with. Sharon does the treatments for these and she is wonderful! Hello everyone! After years of contemplation and research I finally had my BA done with Dr. Kara on Saturday, April 20 2013. I had my surgery at 10:30AM on April 20th and was walking out of the hospital by 1PM. After sleeping and showering 4 hours later, I was out and about walking the mall and went out for dinner with my family the same night! The following day I was already driving around and was getting my nails done before going back to work the next day. I did not have to take one day off due to my BA. My consultant, Gina was fantastic and very attentive towards me. She was easy to contact whenever I had any questions and/or concerns and was very supportive before and after the surgery. I recently had my 3 month post-opt appointment and my scars have faded dramatically and my breasts look and feel natural. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kara and his services to anyone looking to receive amazing outcomes to their BA surgery. Had 2 procedures done. Satisfied with the first but Was very unhappy with the second one as I did not receive the result I was promised. And also the lady who did my consultation didn’t help at all after the procedure. First one was amazing second one very disappointed with results will be going elsewhere next week and hope for better results. My before and after looks the exact same. They couldn’t even pull up my original photos because the consultant did not save them. I’m so disappointed I spent 5000$ and got no result :(. Breast augmentation amazing but lypo definitely a fail.

Went here for cool sculpting twice. Procedure went well however directly afterwards there was no recovery time in the office and I had to drive home with one leg still frozen and sore the first time, and the second time I ended up passing out as soon as I made it to my car. They took no responsibility for what happened. Said I should have known my body and asked to stay longer even though I was told I was good to go after the procedure. Very disappointed in the way the situation was handled. Other than that, good place.

I have had 4 procedures with Dr Kara and I highly recommend him and his staff! From the first time I spoke to his staff, I was pleased with their attentiveness and caring. The consultants I've seen are knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Kara is so kind and takes so much time each time I have seen him. He doesn't rush you through at all and he is very personable. I was immediately comfortable with him. I really appreciated that he goes away to so many workshops and trains with other doctors even though he's been in business for so many years. I also appreciate that when I've asked about a procedure I think I need, he will honestly tell me if I don't- it's not a cash grab with him. His prices are on his website and very reasonable so it's not a guessing game. Plus, his surgeries are done in his offices at the Scarborough Centenary Hospital and that made a big difference to me. If you are considering plastic surgery, do yourself a favour and book an appointment, you'll be happy you did!

I was referred to this location from a close family member so my expectations were quite high. I contacted the office Tuesday, July 27 at 5:31pm. The receptionist was very friendly and listened to my needs. I just wanted to book a consultation, which she did and told me it will be a video call the next day. We scheduled it for Wednesday, July 28 11:00 am and I waited for my call. After receiving no phone call, I called the office again. The receptionist took down my information and ensured me that the nurse will be calling me within 30 minutes. I received no phone call nor were my calls to the office being answered. After this, I gave up until I got a text message (attached) at 9:40pm from nurse “Mary”. 1. I don’t think 9:40 pm is an appropriate time to be messaging clients. 2. She did not acknowledge what I sent her about having a virtual call today. 3. No one in the office called me to reschedule if there was an issue with my booking. Overall, I’m not happy with the service I received and there were a group of us that were planning to go to Dr.Kara, after this, I don’t want to imagine what the service would be like in person.
