We were given ample opportunity to ask questions about the vehicle, financing options, adding, and the like. Recently purchased a new vehicle from Subaru City. Nothing but great service from Richard Lavallee and the finance team. Richard was very patient and even though the whole point is for them to sell cars, I felt more comfortable here than at most dealerships. Left with the vehicle of my dreams, all the staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful.
Dropped off my car for service, and Subaru City Uber'd me home and then back to pick up my car. Car was washed, service was fast and finished on time, everyone I met was friendly and courteous. Getting a vehicle serviced at a dealer is never fun ($$$), but these folks made it as painless as possible.
Weld failed on rear sub frame for sway bar mount on 2014 outback with 75000kms. We were accused of hitting something to cause the damage even thou there is no evidence of this happening. As the bracket is high under the car above the lower control arms and behind the bumper, no other parts are damaged or scuffed. So I will be talking with Subaru Canada about this issue and will no longer be using City Subaru or Rally Subaru for any repair work, services, or new vehicle purchases
Terrible service and company. We had an appointment at 11 to change the oil, instead we had to spend half a day waiting for the car. Nobody warned that when the meeting at 11, your car will not go to work at this hour, and in a few hours, and you have to wait here 3-4 hours. And they do not care that you have other things planned and you were left without a car . I don't advise anyone to deal with this company...

My husband recently bought a used car from Subaru City. We have had no end of trouble with the service department since we bought it. The car had not had a full maintenance done by the previous owner and three weeks after the purchase we already had to put $700 into the car. We were told that they had to order a part in that is still covered under warranty and would let us know when it had arrived. Two weeks later my husband called and they still hadn't ordered the part. Now, almost a month and a half we're still trying to get a hold of someone at the service department to find out what happened to the part. Every time my husband calls he has to leave a message and no one ever returns his calls.

Bought a used Impreza one month ago and have to say that the experience of purchasing from Subaru City was amazing. Douglas Bodtcher was an immense help and a fantastic dealer to work with. He was helpful and informative, without being pushy in the slightest. In the end he worked out a deal that I didn't think I would get. The car was in pristine condition and handed over with everything checked over twice and cleaned. I received a courteous early morning welcome when I brought my car in for service. I asked that the vehicle be ready by noon and Ryan ensured that it was completed on time. Under our current pandemic restrictions, Subaru City cannot offer shuttle service but kindly offered the UBER option. I was very surprised and pleased to find that my Outback had been washed, something the car desperately needed but was not expected. A great place to do business.

Just bought a Subaru Crosstrek (2019) From Teresa Anderson, Such an amazing lady. I wouldnt even call her a "Sales" Lady, I'd call her a Client Experience associate, honestly, she took care of everyone of my needs, concerns, came in on her day off to make sure after my purchase my delivery experience was equally as satisfying. I forgot to ask her a question while I was there, and I texted her after the dealership closed, she was prompt and professional the whole time. If you're looking for either new or used, I recommend personally asking for her at Subaru City. You're in for a car buying experience that you wouldnt think exists. I did not feel any pressure and it was about "MY" needs never about what was better for her or the dealership. I'm impressed.

The service dept is fantastic and this dealership actually answers their phone when you call them :). My windshield fluid froze up with our first blast of winter. They were able to squeeze me in on short notice to get it working on my way to work today. Not only that, but they also didn't charge me an arm and a leg when I was in dire need of a quick service call. Only 4 stars since their prices seem to be a little on higher side (on cars and parts), but if you would like better service it may be worthwhile paying a little more. At the very least, it's worth getting a price from them once you know what you want to buy.
I have purchased 2 veichles from this dealership. I have a love for Subaru, and was treated kindly by sales staff both times. However, the test of a dealership in my eyes is the service department. I have had nothing but issues with Subaru City. Treated with disrespect and rude attitude time and time again. I will not return nor would I recommend purchasing a Subaru in Edmonton for this reason. But please find yourself a sweet subie somewhere else.

WE GIVE ZERO STARS BUT CAN'T POST WITHOUT AT LEAST ONE I ordered several parts for a vehicle, had to wait till all parts were in before starting the job, most were correct except the bolts, they sent us rear bolts we needed front! SUBARU CITY PARTS MANAGER IS REFUSING TO REFUND THE BOLTS BECAUSE THEY WERE SPECIAL ORDER EVEN AFTER THE "MANAGER" ADMITTED SEEING THAT WE WERE DOING ALL REPAIRS TO THE FRONT END AND ADMITS THE BOLTS WERE INCORRECTLY ORDERED AND YET REFUSES TO REFUND THEM!!!!!!! WOULD BE A DIFFERENT STORY HAD WE CALLED THEM WITH THE PART NUMBER BUT IT WAS THEIR REP THAT ORDERED INCORRECTLY ABSOLUTELY THE WORST DEALERSHIP EXPERIENCE EVER. VERY THANKFUL THE PARTS WERE ONLY $30 BUT THE FACT REMAINS THEY ARE JUST OUT TO RIP YOU OFF ANY CHANCE THEY GET!! I had an excellent experience buying my Subaru from Subaru City. My salesman Greg Harrison was very helpful and not pushy at all which I greatly appreciate. He showed me all the cars I was interested in looking at and let me test drive any of them that I wanted to. When I chose the vehicle I wanted to purchase, I asked if I could possibly get it the next day to allow me to use it for my vacation and Greg and the whole team did everything they could to make it happen and I was able to get it the next day. I would highly recommend Greg if you are interested in buying a Subaru.
I brought the vehicle in for its 50k km check up and two recalls. I specifically asked in booking the appointment that services a-c get done as well as the recalls. Upon arriving the rep recommended I go with maintenance service A. I should have said no but didn’t think better and said yes. Realized on the Uber home five min later it was a mistake. Tried to call, text and email dealer to tell them to perform services as I had originally mentioned. Instead got a callback almost two hours later and was told it was too late, not impressed given the number they text me from is supposed to be one I can easily reach them at. To top it all off, I asked they check my brakes because my Crosstrek has been squeaking for two years. Got a notice during appointment to confirm an additional service mechanic was recommending, $300 to clean brakes. I declined given I cleaned the brakes two years ago for the same reason and it didn’t fix the problem. Report said I had no history of cleaning brakes which is false given I just looked at proof of receipt this morning. So my own dealer can’t even get that right. To finish it all off, brakes squeaked the very first time I pressed on them trying to get out of Subaru lot. The rep may be nice, but I can’t help but think it’s because they are trying to upsell me when I have a very knowledgeable mechanic best friend with twenty years experience who tells me what services are worth my while and which aren’t. May start going to the other dealer as this has happened twice now and they still can’t figure out my brake problem, upsell me when I make it clear what I want and generally I just don’t feel heard.
My mechanic couldn’t figure out what was going on with my car so I took my Forrester to Subaru and they figured out the problem right away. Jonathan was lovely to work with, kept me updated throughout, and I was able to reach him easily throughout the day through text message to ask questions which made it so easy.

Good day, Having close to no choice, went to the closest option. Still had to absorb the financial burden of car cie in their bad choice of parts providers. That said, if not obligated by laws, not sure the cie would have taken any action in this potentially dangerous end state situation metal particules exploding in their clients face already in dangerous road situation. Service was basic, and dealership team communication showed to be poor. No evidence of exchange between services and sales reps. and I didn’t come even close to be able to testdrive a future car interest and talk about getting a new Subaru at City Subaru in Edmonton. Recently got tires changed. Service staff is good, helpful and they were able to help me promptly. Jonathan, Ryan and the other gentleman were able to tire change as they were in stock thankfully. There is a communication error/blockage between the people who actually do the work and the people you go and talk to. 2 times after service my car wasn't even washed after the service. I had requested a basic vacuum but it was not done. So when picking up the car, they said, "it should be done" but it was'nt. The lady took my car, banged my car door out of anger and washed my car for 30 sec and brought it back. That could have been handled much better. The uber service is good but I prefer company shuttle as I sat/interacted with 4 uber drivers in 2 days. Now, with COVID, I prefer 1 car/1 driver instead of getting exposed 4 different cars/4 different drivers. No antiseptics were provided in the car and those door handles would be touched by so many people. I only pray for good health of all. Thankyou to the gentleman who filled the air when service was closed due to long weekend. Keep up the good work!

First time getting my sti worked on at this dealer, and I am pleased with the service. Unfortunately they weren't able to find one of my concerns with my transmission, but fixed my other concerns. The tech came out and spoke to me personally about my vehicle, which I appreciate. If I have other warranty work on my car I will be coming back.

Ashton is the best sales person I have ever dealt with . He took me for a test drive and literally educated me about all aspects of that particular vehicle which I should know about before making a decision. Not just your average test drive guy , he is very knowledgeable and open minded . A must have test drive before you buy any car which you plan to keep for a while . He is a no pressure guy . My partner and I were treated like valuable clients rather than just a set of numbers on a page. Doug is a rockstar.Literally. We wanted an Outback at a price that was not conducive to their stock. Too bad, because I really , really wanted an Outback. Covid has decimated the Auto Industry and Subaru City is killing it in sales. Everybody else knows what I have known for many years. Subaru's are #1 for lots of reasons.
Got my winter tires put on, also my windows were reset as they were malfunctioning and my molding was fixed on my driver side door. I love my Outback. Bonus was having Doug help me figure out maps on my screen and then all these shortcuts that I has no idea. He improved the sound of my radio by adjusting the base. He moved some icons I never use to another screen. When I got to my car, I noticed that they cleaned inside including my leather seats, left me a bottle of water and my car was cleaned. What an amazing service. High praise for Subaru. Thank you Bill for your wonderful salesmanship in helping me buy my Outback and also to Doug who answered so many questions about my screen, map, shortcuts. He did not have to help us but he willingly did and he was so enthusiastic. Best.
Full disclosure: I know the general manager. That said, the entire staff are helpful and cheerful. The premises is well thought out and the customer lounge (for people.waiting for their cars) is very comfortable with large TV, coffee, and bottled.water. What I like best about this place is that there are no high pressure sales tactics at this dealership. The sales people are around but give you your space while you kick the tires. Second review: Took my Outback in for a major service. Had to make arrangements beforehand but the dealership provided me with a loaner. Once I returned, the service advisor went over the entire bill and answered any questions I may have had. Very professional service. If you're looking for a Subaru in Edmonton and area, this is where I'd go.

I went into look at buying a WRX and was greeted by Douglas - from the initial contact he was courteous, friendly and helpful. This helped me relax a bit as buying a new car can be very stressful. Douglas had me try out several different WRX's and even provided a map he put together explaining where to go and what features to try as COVID made it difficult for him to come. I finally decided on the 2020 WRX but no automatics were to be found in Alberta - Douglas began the task of finding me one. A great amount of time had passed and I was getting "hangry" Douglas went ABOVE AND BEYOND offering me his lunch - which I ate - Thank you Doug! One was located in Vancouver and we struck a deal. As I waited for my car many a texts and phone calls were patiently returned as I kept changing things up. Finally my car had arrived! When I picked the car up Doug was so very thorough, marking the important pages to read in my manual to showing me every important option including helping me set my phone up and setting up stations that were worth listening to on Sirus Radio. As well, he introduced me to all the necessary people and added an extra gift giving my son and I matching Subaru mugs!! I know its the job of a salesperson to sell you a car but Doug made it more than that helping make my dream car buying experience unforgettable. I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a Subaru to contact DOUGLAS BODTCHER - you will be treated to Starbucks coffee on him and if your lucky, you might even get to share his lunch!! Normally I always give the five star rating! I did 4 stars this time - everyone was super knowledgeable & friendly. Great experience but COVID made it a little bit different for me once I get used to the procedure - definitely 5 stars!
Needed to get my stereo and fob fixed, as the door lock wasn't working and the stereo had locked me out (needs a password). When I first came in the mechanic told me and the service guy I was dealing with (who was actually really helpful, I think it was Rob? he had a great mustache anyway...) that the fob needs to be replaced as it isn't responding to the new battery he put into it, as well the stereo couldn't be accessed so that needs to be replaced too. That was fine with me, so I ordered a new fob from them for $300 and booked a second appointment with a mechanic to have it programmed two weeks later (once it arrived from their warehouse). When I came back in things were unfortunately not very professional. I was told the fob was not actually the issue. Turns out there is a $1700 computer part inside the car that needs replaced. BIG surprise to me, as it was not mentioned on the original diagnosis or quote. What's worse is that then I was told they wouldn't refund me for the fob (that I now did not need), as it is a computer part and they don't refund computer parts. To me it seemed like I was being hit up for $300. I had to argue with them awkwardly in front of other customers for over 20 minutes before they refunded me for the fob. The first thing their customer service guy said to me when I explained the situation and asked for a refund was "did you try to program it yourself and mess up?" No, guy. I bring my cars to you because I don't know the first thing about fixing them. But, apparently, neither do you. Not overly professional. Jordan and Ryan I believe were the two people at the parts department I had to deal with. Not very understanding, professional, or courteous. Unfortunately, I'll have to deal with third party mechanics from now on.

My car was acting a bit goofy so I phoned up the dealership and was connected with Jonathan in the service department. I explained what was ailing my otherwise trustworthy car. It was refreshing to speak to someone who was technically inclined and was able to offer suggestions as to what was going on. I ended up taking my car in for a once over. I was quoted for an hour’s worth of work, which ultimately wasn’t needed as my problems were easily diagnosed and a remedy was offered. The dealership was able to shuttle me back and forth via Uber to my hotel, at no charge to me. I am happy to confirm that no major issues were identified with my car, and my dealings with Subaru City was top notch and second to none.

I hate writing negative reviews, but... I bought a car here 3 years ago and I still have nightmares about it. It involved 6 painful hours of waiting, discussing, "checking with the finance guy", charging "admin" fees, upselling bogus warranty etc. Basically everything you hate about buying a car. By the end of it I felt so tired I just wanted it to end and bought a vehicle. My engine light came on about 2 hours into driving the 4 year old "fully checked car". 3 years later I still get spammy emails, phone calls to my cell, letters to my home address, asking me to bring in the vehicle, asking me to refer my family. I would stay far away from this place.

We recently purchased a used Toyota Rav4 from Greg at Subaru City and it was the best used car purchase experience!!! Even though we live across town, the dealership was easy to get to, and near a lot of other dealerships in the Mayfield industrial area so it was easy to find. The whole process they were very mindful of safety and made sure the car and everything was clean and sanitized before our arrival. Greg was super friendly, made sure our kids were happy and even gave us water bottles for our test drive! This was definitely a no-pressure environment and we got a great deal on our purchase. I also loved that there was a TV upstairs to keep our kids happy while we filled out the paperwork, and they never seemed annoyed that our kids were there (which some places would be!). Greg really knew a lot about Japanese cars (not just Subaru but Toyota which we happened to be buying!) even down to the year, make, model etc. They really went above and beyond, and even cleaned the car a second time before we took it home (even though we were the last ones in it and it had just been cleaned!) I will not hesitate to recommend this place to all my family and friends who are looking for a great deal on a used (or new!) car in Edmonton!
I had some key work that had to be done on a used vehicle and Jared K (the mechanic) did an absolutely fantastic job. He did a great job diagnosing the issues and was so diligent in walking through the problems with me. He then insured that all things were taken care of with such perfection and a professional touch. Jared and Jonathan R(service advisor) kept me informed throughout the whole process. Very impressed with Jared and must say that he put my trust back in dealerships and would highly recommend Subaru City for their work. I've had my previous car for 14 years, so purchasing a new one was a little bit over whelming. I came into this dealership and had Greg Harrison help me and my husband out. He was friendly at first. I came in and test drove the Legacy 2017 and the Crosstek 2017 and was debating between the two. I came in with the intention of purchasing a vehicle but just having to figure out which Subaru vehicle I wanted. When I couldn't decide, he said "give it a couple of days and come back". A couple of days turned into a week as our schedules didn't align. But during that time I checked out other vehicles to make sure I wasn't absolutely in love with any other vehicles. I went and ended up taking a look at a used 2015 with a tech package, and fell in love with the pricing. Ended up purchasing it. Greg sent me a text a couple of days after I had purchased the vehicle just to see how I was doing. I had said "I'm sorry but I went ahead with another vehicle". He then shot me a text saying "Thanks for wasting my time". I was taken a back by the text message. I understand that salesmen are on commission but that response was not necessary. He then sent another message stating "I hope they treat you well". I took it as a snarky remark as the first text message was a little rude. I deleted the message and took the high road and didn't respond. I would still recommend this place to my friends and family but not that particular salesman.
While their service department may not be the cheapest option out there, you get what you pay for: quality work, done on time, and there's no hassle. Booking appointments online is easy and the drop-off/pick-up experience is seamless. Its been a few years, but my sales experience was great too. If Ole Hansen still works there, give him your business if you're in the market for a vehicle.

Went there ready to buy an impreza and met a sales guy name Ken. I honestly doesn’t know how he does his living. Very condescending, spent 40mins in the office and never even talk about the price of the vehicle we intend to buy. A really big waste of time and never got talked to in this manner. So the question is, why such a poor customer service? We left there angry because of his condescending tone and got ourselves a vehicle elsewhere with someone that actually want to work with us. To you Ken, not sure how you got all the awards in your office, but it certainly look like you gave it to yourself. You can reply whatever you want but it won’t take away the fact that you gave a piss poor service and EVERY should avoid dealing with you.

I recently bought a Sti from Subaru City and the sales associate, Ashton who was really helpful during my purchase. The test drive was very professional which was the key reason that I decided to buy this car. He didn't really push me to buy the car like some other dealership and he also tried his best to give me the deal that I wanted. So I highly recommend if someone wants to be a Subaru fan, then Ashton is the person who you want to talk with.

I purchased my new Forester in January and I am very satisfied with my purchase and with the help that I've received from Bill Wong. He is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and patient. He has been very quick to respond to my questions. I recently had an issue with my remote starter and thanks to Bill, he was able to connect me to Certified Radio and the issue was resolved within minutes! I've only had my Forester in for servicing once, but they were professional and very accommodating when I had to pick up my vehicle outside of the service department hours. Took my STi in for a cooling system flush and refill. Was done quickly and at a reasonable price. Also had an issue with the overflow/expansion tank cap popping open. They took my vehicle back in right away and resolved the issue at no charge. I'm usually wary about going to dealerships. I have very mixed feelings about this review. The buying experience was fantastic I was super excited to drive away in my brand new 2019 Impreza that the salesperson Teresa searched and searched and found me the last one in Vancouver. I was over the moon with the service and experience I was receiving it made me extremely confident I made the right choice. However, when I brought my car back to get my winter package installed there was miscommunication about the appointment and the situation was not handled professionally what so ever. The employee yelled at me and treated me very disrespectfully and I have never felt more uncomfortable and disrespected in my life. It makes me sad because I love my car but I do not feel comfortable going back to this dealership for service to my car in the future.

$400 dollars to change a block heater cord, this just proves why I avoid getting my maintenance done at a dealership. They wouldn’t just sell me the cord, I had to pay for the block heater kit ($270) now I have new spare block heater sitting on my passenger seat(smh) cause my old block heater is working fine. Than I was billed $130 to replace the cord, I am giving Subaru city 2 stars cause at least its working but I can’t help but feel ripped off.
I called another dealership in town so that Subaru Recall Campaign WTM-73 could be completed on my car. The other dealer informed me that I must order the parts myself from Subaru of America. I declined to have my recall work done at this dealer. I went to Subaru City and was immediately greeted by a service adviser. I informed her that I required recall work on my car. I handed her the VIN, then she asked me if this was a US market car and I replied yes. At the same time she updated my address with Subaru and offered a selection of times to bring my car in for service. The times that she offered worked wonderfully with my schedule. I am very happy to have chosen Subaru City. I will submit an update once my recall is complete.
Worst service I’ve ever had rude over the phone service manager hung up as he didn’t wanna here my reasoning for being upset finally picked up the car got my car back with the glove box hanging off not put back on to witch after I got them to fix that leaving I overheard the manager say to a coworker that he wasn’t gonna say anything and I quote “rat him out” for not checking through the car nothing will be service here again and I will be making sure word gets around.

I went to Subaru City as its the closest Subaru facility here in Edmonton from where I live as I had an issue with my newly acquired vehicle. The adjustment panel in the driver seat came off a bit loose and as it turned out the bracket connecting the plastic cover to the seat was broken. I called and was so glad that they had an open slot for a service appointment the next day. I arrived at Subaru City and was immediately accommodated by a service advisor and he took a look at the panel. My issue was solved in around 30 minutes of me parking my vehicle at the facility. The appointment went quickly, smoothly and as painless as possible.

I gave 3 out of 5 stars because we were not able to close the deal, but the sales person i was dealing with definitely deserves a 5 out of 5! If you ever decide to buy a Subaru at this location ask for Teresa. She was great and she was willing to really work with me to get what I wanted from pricing to payments and to the color and make of the car we wanted. She was willing to go the extra mile for us, to get us the best deal we could possibly get. It was unfortunate that the deal fell through during the financing stage, because Subaru didn't want to approve us for there inhouse finance and wanted us to go into bank rates and longer term. Which was a deal breaker for us because that was the main reason aside from the car (which was our second choice) why we wanted to go with them. But if Subaru is what you are set on I highly recommend Teresa in sales 5 out 5 experience with her.

Subaru City was amazing when my car got broken into. I was leaving the city and had to leave my car there until my new window showed up. They made sure it was covered and brought it inside overnight and on the weekend to make sure it was safe. Not only did they order the window on the spot but they were done the day of its arrival and before I was back in the city. Their later hours for pick up worked perfectly and I was able to have my car before work the next morning. Seriously above and beyond. Thank you!
Just finished off purchasing our 2019 Limited Forester from Ashton; was a great experience all around! We were very indecisive and everyone there was very patient with us and took us on multiple test drives over various trips into the dealership. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, never felt too pressured and always answered our endless questions or got back to us very quickly with the answers if they didn't know them right away. The Service Department team is very helpful. I have been able to get answers to challenging questions. The mechanics outback (Outback? hah hah) are more for quality than rushing to the next job. I recently needed the Timing Cover seal replaced. Big job. It was completed in the time anticipated. Now with it being spring time the engine compartments get really dirty. Most mechanics would have just cleaned the necessary area. Nope, the WHOLE engine compartment was completely clean. AWESOME!!! The purchase of your new vehicle is important. The team that maintains it is critical. We have had various mechanics, (you know who you are :) ), work on out two Subaru's. All are terrific. (This next section was posted shortly after our second Subaru purchase) It's always nice shopping for a quality product. And Ken Hutzal knows it!!! Easy going and never pushy. A nice change from other places. Subaru looks after engineering and function before glitz and glam.
Got my car serviced at Subaru City. Very friendly, efficient, personable and left my car sanitized. I enjoyed a nice bottle of cold water while sitting outside in the sun waiting while I was self distancing.

Took my Subaru for warranty service a few months ago. I did not purchase from them but they went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. On-top of a time sensitive schedule and the requirement of a vehicle, they didn't hold back any inclination to help. Where as the Southside Subaru just told me they couldn't help me even despite explaining the severity of the situation and the recent loss in my mother.

I had an appointment to change my air bags due to the recall. Subaru City estimated that it might take 3-4 hours but the technicians that did the job got it done in 2.5 hours. I was very pleased that the job was completed quicker than I expected. When I returned to my car they had a plastic seat cover over top of the driver’s seat and a bottle of water waiting for me. I appreciated the gestures. I’ll be back when I have to service my vehicle again.
Rio was absolutely fantastic to deal with! We must have been there for almost 3 hours the first day checking out all the options and going for test drives to figure out which vehicle would fit my life best. I decided the next day to buy a 2018 Impreza. I was strapped for time and was only in the city for an appointment but him and Paula from finance got everything going and we were able to do a good portion over the phone. Lori from finance took care of the rest. It was the most stress-free car purchase I have ever experienced! I've never had a good experience at a dealership until this one and have actively put off going to one for anything more than I absolutely needed for a little over three years. Because of this I didn’t enter the dealership with the best attitude. Rio was patient though and gave my husband and I the space we needed to do our own look through of everything that was on the floor. He paid enough attention to come by and give us more details if we lingered at a specific vehicle but never hovered which we were extremely grateful for. He’s definitely one of the most down to earth salesmen I have ever dealt with! Even when we were comparing other makes and models to Subaru he never once put down another brand, only listed the pros and cons of both. I went in to Subaru City after seeing another mechanic who wasn’t able to complete an install for a faulty ABS control module. It was a significant purchase, upwards of 2.5k. Once I took the car home, the problem kept coming back. At this point I was incredibly frustrated since the problem had not been resolved after spending so much time (4 visits over 2 months) and money. Discussing the issue with front line service staff, no solution was apparent so I took my problem to their service manager. I’m so glad I did. After explaining my issue, he said that he promised to treat me fairly, and he did. Took my car back in and after a lot of detective work, they found the fault was with a shorted break light wire. They resolved the issue and did not over charge me for the complication. I really appreciate the honesty and integrity they showed, and that they resolved the problem while minimizing the hassle for me as much as possible. Many thanks to the Subaru City service team
I was certain I was going to upgrade from my Crosstrek to a Subaru Ascent so went to Subaru city and Doug helped me out. I was able to test drive the Ascent by myself, Doug suggested I test out all the controls while out and there was no formal time limit on my drive- it was great because other places there is a set route and the salesperson comes with, it's so much better when you can test drive the vehicle on the streets you will mainly be driving it and not being told to try all the buttons while driving. Doug was the opposite of a typical car salesperson, he is there to help you choose and purchase a vehicle not sell you on one. He is knowledgeable and has a competitor comparison guide for you to check out- which is also a huge help because if you haven't searched online for months(like myself) having this resource to review is tremendously helpful, even just for dimensions and specs. After my first test drive and info session Doug didn't pester me afterwards and I ended up going in for a second test drive. In the end I didn't go with the Ascent and chose a different brand of vehicle and Doug even referred me to a better dealership than the one I was using and followed up with me to see how the process elsewhere was. Doug is a true asset to Subaru City. You should choose Subaru City if you are either thinking of purchasing a Subaru or just on a new vehicle search, all of the sales people are great, but I would 100% recommend Doug.

My visit today was very smooth and not one complaint! Trying to get a appointment; being on hold waiting for the service department to pick up. 22 minutes. Yes I could have hung up and tried again, but this was the second time in two days that I was put on hold. It would have been better for the operator to ask for my number and had given a call back when it wasn’t as busy.
I would rate the dealership as alright. The sales department was always friendly (they typically are) but I’ve struggled a bit with the service department. They were always very nice but I had to travel to the city 3 times (from 2 hours away) to get warranty work done as the wrong parts were ordered. Jonathan was apologetic about the situation but I never did hear from their service manager although I had expected to. I appreciate their loaner car program but it may be a good idea not to be down a customer’s throat about “filling the gas tank” on it when it has first off, travelled 12kms and second, has involved the customer travelling 1400kms due to a dealership error. Other than warranty work, I don’t know that my car will be back to that dealership for service work. I doubt I would stray from Subaru when I purchase another car but I doubt it will be from this dealership.

He helped educate us on the vehicle, set up the initial test drive, presented our negotiated offer to management, setup a 2nd test drive, and ensured final delivery of a beautifully presented vehicle. I have just purchased my second Subaru from Mr. Ken Hutzal at Subaru City, and I can say that I would not have gone to any other dealership. Not only did he once again find me the perfect car, but he worked with my budget and made sure all of my car buying inquires were addressed with professionalism and patience. In the past I have felt very uncomfortable with pushy, eager sales people, who didn't care about me as a consumer, they just wanted to close the sale. Not once did I have this experience with the Sales and Finance team at Subaru City. UPDATED REVIEW: I am very disappointed with the service department. I still love my vehicle but have found a different place for servicing and inspections since I do not appreciate getting hit with an enormous bill for unnecessary work and parts every time I take the car in.

Just an example: a few minor accessories were missed when I picked up my car (to no fault of Doug's), and the very next day he drove to my place and picked up the car and got the parts put on it for me.. even leaving a courtesy vehicle in case I needed to go somewhere. I recently had a family member purchase a brand new Subaru and we had a terrible experience, from sales staff to management. Among other concerns (unclear pricing and questionable sales tactics), when we observed an obvious dent and paint chip on the vehicle upon delivery, the sales person (Jonathan) was quoted as saying "no car can be perfect" and proceeded to make rude remarks about how picky I was until a manager intervened. While the issue was escalated and addressed, all further communication from management soon faded. There are some hidden gems here - from the folks in financing to the people in service - they were fantastic. Having said that, I will drive to Calgary to avoid dealing with this dealership when I purchase my next Subaru. There is simply no excuse for rude and unresponsive sales staff. *It is worth noting that we were offered a cash discount for a 5 star review, and as you can see, Subaru City, based on this experience, doesn't even deserve 1 star
Super happy with my buying experience with this dealership. They take their time, explaining everything to you, making sure you know the ins and outs of your vehicle. It’s nice to have knowledge about the new vehicle you’re going to buy, as a lot of places will just rush you out the door once you’re signed. We worked with Carlos to get a new Outback Outdoor XT, he was so professional, easy to talk to and worked for the best deal for us. Ordered a part that needed to be special ordered in. Perfect no worries. As it’s not something anyone carries that often. Now we’ve been waiting on this master cylinder for the past week. Followed up yesterday and was told “would arrive on either on the 12 or the 13th (today). Called this morning and was told the part has been in since Friday. Thank you for the lovely communication and the fact the box has the receive date written on it is just icing on the cake. What a load of garbage with communication from here with the parts department - I get it’s COVID and you might be short staff. But 5 days is a joke.

Had my oil changed, on Thursday January 13th , attendant said everything was reset on car to the next oil change time period. But everytime I start my car it says I need to have an oil change ????.
Awesome friendly staff that didn't pressure me to buy.. My wife and I test drove a crosstrek, and the salesman that was taking care of us showed he only cared that you get the right vehicle for us with the features and capabilities that we require.. I took my car there to be fixed. After they fixed my fly wheel on my car they decided to do a compression test and found out I have a couple dead cylinders. AFTER THEY REPLACED that part ($4,500). Then I told them to put it all back together and kick it out the door due to being expensive to go any further. They DID NOT PUT ANYTHING BACK TOGETHER AND DID NOT TELL ME!! They literally put parts/bolts in my back of my car... And I have no clue if I even have all my parts. I will NOT be going back there. You have lost all my business. You guys costed me even more money.

Be careful about having your servicing done with this dealership. We have a 2010 Forester and brought it in for a recall notice for replacement of the passenger airbag. When we received the car back, the invoice indicated 80 kms had be put on the odometer. When asked about it, their service department said they must have made a mistake entering the odometer readings. On two other occasions, we brought our vehicle in for regular servicing and was told that one of our tires had a nail in it. We had no issues with any of the tires leaking air. They charged us over $100 for them to remove the so call nail and patch it. Also, when I had my Subaru Impresa, they wanted to charge me about $1200 for a servicing that the dealership in Red Deer charge around $500 for. They told me it was more because extra things had to be done to the vehicle due to us being in a cold climate, say what? I drove down to Red Deer to have it done. There have been other issues, but don't have the time to go over all of them.

Got a flat tire on my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek on Monday. Jonathan in the service department was able to get me in the next day to have my tire looked at. My tire replacement was covered by my warranty purchased at a different dealership in a different province. I was able to pick up my car at the end of the day and I am very happy with the results. Jonathan was extremely helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and explained in detail how everything worked with the warranty and the new tire. I will definitely bring my crosstrek back to Subaru City in the future. Thanks again, Jonathan!

Writing only because I was disappointed in some aspects of the service here, and will opt for the other Subaru location in the future. After having a remote starter installed I got back in my car to find the glove box missing entirely. When I went back inside to ask about it, a (very nice) salesman was the only one around to help me out. He went to the back service area to ask the techs about it and if they could take a look, to which I heard "ya we're closed up." The salesman was very helpful but understandably limited in what he could do, and so he took a picture of the area and let me know I would get a call the next day. That call never came. While I found the glovebox in the back and eventually just re-installed it myself, both the attention to detail and service was unfortunately lacking throughout this experience. A simple call back would have been appreciated.

Very bad experience. Just want to purchase a used car. Got very insulting attitude from the salesman and the manager. Too low and you are unreasonable. What kind of attitude from a salesman. Remember, I am a customer walking to your door. Not need to be treated as a King but at least a customer.
I've visited numerous times, mostly to the Parts department in hopes to finally have a good experience but I think I'm done with Subaru City and I'll be taking my business to Rally Subaru. My first time, a man in Parts was incredibly unwelcoming, very rude, and overall super unhelpful when inquiring about a few parts for my Impreza. During that same visit, a woman from the Service department was standing and staring at me for an uncomfortably long time while I was waiting at Parts, and when I asked her why she was staring, she asks me what I'm doing when I was doing was standing patiently. Very offputting experience to say the least! Another time, I opted to call Parts instead of coming inside as I was not comfortable with coming in again, and the lady on the phone to whom I inquired about a part as a gift, was not at all pleased that I didn't have the VIN of the vehicle, as I previously mentioned is not mine as it is a gift, and was very stern and did not speak with any kindness whatsoever. I understand if the VIN is needed but it would be nice to be spoken to with some kindness. I don't know why the Parts department doesn't like me, and why the lady in Service decided to just stare at me, but regardless I have had a good experience with the Receptionist (very kind lady) and this one man in Parts, didn't catch his name but he is very tall with glasses, who gave me a funny tutorial on how to use my Paint Pen which he called a rocket. Thanks, but no thanks, for the experience, Subaru City. My family and I are proud Subaru owners, but we will most certainly not be back.
This was my first time buying a vehicle that wasn't a Toyota. I have to say that I am impressed with the quality of Subaru's vehicles. Equally impressive is their staff. Knowledgeable professionals who take the time to provide exceptional customer service. They took their time and answered all of my questions and at no time pressured me. In fact, they're incredibly friendly which made the process so much more relaxing. I will be recommending Subaru City and their sales consultant, Jim Bartzis, to my friends and family. Also I can't forget to mention their business manager Lori, she made the whole experience much more pleasant.

I was skeptical first walking in, as I have gone to multiple dealerships in trying to trade in my ford f150. Most dealerships were giving me horrible trade in values and no play room in trying to get a deal. However, I talked to Greg Harrison who was awesome in fighting for me in getting the best deal out of my truck into a new Subaru Outback. Even though it wasn't a quick deal, he eventually was able to fight for me as best as he could and I was able to walk away with a new vehicle. He is not pushy and looks out of your interest first before his own. As well Paula was nice and calm to talk too to finalize the payments. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars for Subaru City was because when we asked the salesperson who first approached us if we could take an Ascent out for a test drive even though we are at least a year away from actually purchasing one he was completely rude to us. When we explained why we wanted to test drive one in the middle of winter (you can't test drive how a vehicle stops/starts on an icy road in the middle of summer) he told us he would get someone else since "he works on commission" and wasn't interested in spending time with us since it was busy and we were so far away from making a purchase. Along came Ashton, we cannot tell you enough good things about this young man. He answered all of our questions, happily took us for the test drive, and was so very pleasant to deal with that instead of giving 1 star I gave 4. If you are looking for a Subaru I highly recommend you asking for him.

My Dad is quit sick at this time in hospital, and was in the search of a new safer vehicle for my mom. Doug was extremely helpful in finding a vehicle for my mom and spending the time with her once it was purchased. He spent hours with her teaching her about the vehicle and making sure she was comfortable as my Dad was unable to be there. He went above and beyond for my family. He also donated blood in my Dads name. I highly recommend not only Subaru City, but also Doug as he is by far the most genuine person.

After being told my vehicle would be ready within and hour I received a text message saying it would be an extra 30mins. I waited 2 hrs before deciding to ask the service desk what was taking so. Although the people were nice the service was slow and no updates were provided.
Usually buying a vehicle is an ordeal but Greg Harrison and Paula helped make this the best dealership experience I've ever had. No pressure at all. Got a great price on a used car and the whole deal was done in under 30 min. Only thing they could've done better was fill the gas tank before delivery, but the price on the car was so reasonable I didn't complain about it!

Be very careful when negotiating. I recently bought a 2021 WRX from them. When I talked to the salesman, I asked if it was possible to include a remote starter. I was promised that it was indeed included. A month later, I’ve reached out regarding the remote start since I’ve noticed that it wasn’t in the car. He told me that he will get back to me: 2 weeks of waiting, and I was told that there was nothing they can do to include the starter. My parents were past clients at a different dealership. I asked if the Loyalty Program would work even if I took the vehicle from Subaru City. The salesman told me that they would deduct the Loyalty from the total price, but it was not done. I reached out again two months from purchasing my vehicle, and they are now giving a different answer: Loyalty only works if the car is bought from the same dealership. Make sure you have proof of what was talked about regarding your vehicle, or you’ll be ripped off.
We had our STI service for oil change yesterday and Ryan MacDonald is one of the service desk who accommodate us and he is excellent on what he is doing, he explain to us the details what they did on our car and what we need to watch for future maintenance. They treated us like we were royalty and with much respect. They even delivered the car to our house on Christmas Eve, and then offered to take the vehicle back after Christmas so they could fix a couple of dents and some paint repair on their nickel which was absolutely not necessary as we did not ask for anything like that to be done. Sales team is great, but Subaru (the Brand, not the dealer) doesn’t like to cover Services that would be considered complementary at other brands (ECM programming updates to faulty programming). Why should the customers have to pay to fix faulty programming? Program updates should be covered by Subaru and included in services. I would also like the dealer to review their service prices, and maybe offer packages for service.
Had my Subaru here to get a key programmed and when I got my car back the vents on my bumper are gone and missing?!? And Subaru City are claiming no responsibility for them going missing so now I am out some money.......... Don't bring your car if you don't want them using it as a parts car........
Brian was very low pressure, the vehicle I was looking at was an "as is" sale; Brian ensured I knew it needed some work and the price negotiation was easy. I feel I got a great deal. Did not use the finance Dept. but paperwork was quick and easy. Used vehicle was very clean and they topped up the tank for me. Never tried to push a new or upgraded vehicle, just a great atmosphere.

I hit a pothole on the highway bending my rim and called AMA (that was included when I purchased my car at Subaru) and they ended up towing my car to Subaru city. When speaking with the service department, they could not order in the rim I needed to replace mine, they wanted me to order it myself and have it sent to Subaru, and they also could not find the tire I needed. I called Kal tire and ended up finding both through them so I took my business there. Subaru charged me an $80 service charge, but I don't believe they should have as they could not get the parts for me. They said it was for an inspection, but again I didn't hear anything about whether there was further damage to my car beyond the rim and tire.

My family recently worked with Carlos Arroyo at this dealership when looking for a Subaru Impreza, and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of their customer service. Especially as first-time Subaru owners, Carlos made sure all of our questions were answered, and that we were well-informed and comfortable throughout the whole process. Carlos remained flexible with any adjustments we wanted to make and explored every possible option with us. The rest of the staff were very easy to work with as well, and made the experience a very smooth and enjoyable one!
Took my vehicle in for recall work, received service without a smile when dropping off. In fact was not greeted at all. Service was performed quickly however I felt they recommended unnecessary services that had been completed prior. It feels like they think they are doing you a favour every time you drop off your vehicle here. If it wasn't for a safety recall I wouldn't even have bothered to bring it here to be perfectly honest.
The work was done quickly and efficiently, as well, the details of the work were explained to me after completion. I’m also glad and appreciative of the care taken to inspect my vehicle for other possible issues that are brought to my attention. Thanks and keep up the good work!

The worst experience ever I just dial in to connect one of the sales person looking for cars Super rude to me and doesn't welcome me at all Started swearing to me. I don't know how you do business but I wish you best luck if all your sales person like this.
The staff was friendly, approachable and helpful. I was a bit disappointed when I picked up my car. I found a used water bottle on the passenger seat, all of my seat and steering wheel configurations had been changed, and the car was returned without being washed, which, I was told would be done when I brought it in for service. When I pay $200 for an oil change, I would expect they would at least spray the cars exterior clean. Otherwise, I’m happy with the service.
Pretty much want to charge whatever they want. Got charge $160 for cvt fluid which cost 15 to 20 dollar to buy for the good kind and the cheap avg is 10 dollar. At most if u need 5 bottle is only 75 dollar. for the good kind too Amsoil not subaru oil. This liquid must me made of gold. Also I ask to fill back the cvt tranmission because it was acidentally drain from a new forester 2020 only 6000km. Was force to do a flush. Like what there to flush. Had the car for only 6 month. No wonder every one go to red deer subaru to do there service.
I had Johnathan looking after my car. He was friendly and very thorough on what needed to be done. Great customer service. Front desk was also very friendly and helpful.
Chris Oteiza was super helpful with my 2020 Forester purchase. Although there were a few bumps during the transaction, Chris and the team at Subaru City were able to deliver with the final product I wanted. There had been issues regarding finding the right color and mileage of the type of car I wanted. They were able to order in a car from western Canada; however, its quality was not up to my standard. I felt Chris went above and beyond when he personally went to Subaru Rally to try and scavenge an acceptable model for myself. In the end, even though the process was long and almost disappointing, Chris was able to pull through and I didn’t need to compromise on anything for my first ever car purchase. Thank you for your hard work. It is truly greatly appreciated!
These guys were professional, courteous, and honest about what I needed and what I didn’t. Work was performed well and on time and the cost was fair. They even saved me money by letting me know what work could wait. Shout out to Jonathan Ramirez! 10/10 would recommend Subaru City.
Absolutely love going here for service. Happy and friendly staff, Steven the manager knows me (and a lot of other people based on my experience) by name. They have a couple of new faces there but they look to be great additions. My Forester has 280000KM or more, this is the only place I have ever had it serviced. Love my Subaru, I am glad I have a place like this to go to.
I bought a used vehicle from this dealership and this was the best buying experience I have ever had. From sales sales to finance it was all professional. I would recommend their services to anyone.

good place to buy, but service is very poor. Management should review this department. Fail to return calls, and appointments are far into the distance. Perhaps the Subaru isn't as good as I thought, why else is it difficult to get a vehicle in for service? I wouldn't buy there again, for just that reason.
Had to make an unexpected visit to a Subaru dealer as it appeared some moron had attempted to steal my catalytic converter. Subaru City was the closest one and the Service Advisor, Jonathan Ramirez, was wonderful to deal with. Really helped at a stressful time. Just on this brief interaction I’d have no hesitation in recommending this dealer for service.
I love Subaru City! One of the main reasons I continue to purchase Subaru vehicles, aside from their reliability and great performance, is the service department at Subaru City. They are dependable and timely but more than that they are so accommodating and really want to help. One of the service consultants has worked there as long as I've been going to SC! Most other service departments I've been to before can't match up to that kind of consistency. You really must consider Subaru City for all your vehicle needs!

Ashton is one of the best sales reps we've ever dealt with. He was straight forward and honest. On the test drive he educated us on not just the many great qualities of Subaru vehicles but also on the physics of the engines and put it in terms we could understand. We would definitely come back to Subaru City as long as we get to work with Ashton.
Scheduled service was as expected on time and no surpizes with my 380K Tribeca vehicle. All was on time and costs. d
The cars are excellent and the employees are great. The logistics for supply however is terrible. While on hold the company brags about older vehicles continuing to operate on the road. I drive a 2006 Subaru but must wait two months for a exhaust section. If you have an older model vehicle and the part is too large to fly because they are not willing to pay extra to support your repair expect to wait a unreasonable amount of time.

I had my vehicle serviced - regular oil change check up. It was about 18 months since the last service - due to Covid I wasn’t driving much. Car was serviced, exterior washed (complimentary) in an acceptable time frame. I was consulted/advised of things that would need looking unto in the future - realizing that I’m on a limited budget. Great service. Nice people. Been going here for years with no complaints.

I can not say enough good things about our buying experience at Subaru City. Our salesperson, Christopher Oteiza, was amazing from start to finish and Lori in finance is awesome too. From the minute we walked in the door, to the moment we drove away in our new Outback we never felt pressured. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and great to work with!
I am amending my previous review from 4 to 1 star. Initially in purchasing a used vehicle from Subaru City I was happy enough with the service but after dealing with out of prince inspection issues, registration issues, and being told that even when an appointment is made a week in advance, the service department cannot get their acts together enough to do an inspection on time, I feel compelled to change my tune. I am sure that anyone buying a new vehicle from these people would have a great time and excellent experience but used is another story. Scheduling issues, guilt trips, rude staff, and questionable inspections mean I would not recommend this dealership to anyone I care about. Deeply disappointing.
