I had a sports related accident that resulted in a nose disfigurement. At first I thought I could deal with it but then I started dealing with PTSD and I associated my nose with the accident. I'm a theatre student at the University of Alberta. I've been acting all my life and I'm a confident person except I had a crooked nose. It has always bugged me and made me feel self-conscious—especially on stage in front of an audience. I finally decided to do something about it last summer and went to see Dr.Zakhary. She gave me the full run-through of what I should expect, what the surgery will entail and how long it'll take to recover. I had the surgery done in May, and by July I felt transformed. I no longer had a crooked nose and classes wouldn't start for another two months. Going under the knife isn't for everyone but neither is getting braces. It involves trust on both sides but I can confidentially say Dr. Zakhary is very trustworthy. She was professional and informative throughout the procedure and even followed up after the first three weeks to see how I was recovering.

My experience at the Dr.Zakhary’s clinic was very good. I felt at ease and well-attended from the very beginning. Everything was explained in detail, all my questions got understandable answers. Her bedside manner is more than I have ever expected, because she is able to reassure and explain medical procedures in simple words at the same time. Last year Dr. Zakhary performed a rhinoplasty on me. Everything went well, from the surgery itself to the follow-ups. There was a little pain and almost no discomfort at all. It was really great to see Dr.Zakhary near my bed when I woke up after the surgery. There was a swelling after the procedure, though it didn’t last long. 3 weeks later after surgery my breathing became easy. Dr.Zakhary warned me of all the inconveniences after the surgery beforehand. So I was prepared to them. After several weeks my nose started performing better and I can breathe well. I would for sure recommend Dr.Zakhary.

Dr. Zakhary performed a rhinoplasty on me 3 years ago. In the beginning it was hard for me to get used to my new face. But, as the swelling subsided, I started to appreciate my new nose more and more. Now, I can confidently say that I am in love with the final results. I went in for a consultation for rhinoplasty on May 1 2019. We went over everything and talked about what I wanted my nose to look like and what Dr. Zakhary could achieve. I booked my surgery for July 26. I got the procedure done which went absolutely perfectly. I was curious on how the recovering process would work but the Holy Cross Hospital staff got me out of there in good timing and i was able to go home to recover. I got my final cast off on Friday August 9th and I am already in love with the results. I have no idea how Dr. Zakhary can picture the results in her head but she did better than I even thought possible. I am still very swollen and have a long time before final results but I am so happy I chose Dr. Zakhary and would do the whole thing 10x again. Thank you for making me feel confident and finally happy with my nose!

She is AMAZING. In the end her advice was to not have any corrective work to my nose. I had three surgeries after breaking my nose several times as a child. Although not %100 happy with the appearance now, Kristina said it would be a bad idea to have anymore surgery in the area - the risks were too great. She then explained the risks, none of which any other doctors I interviewed mentioned. I won't be getting surgery unless my nose changes and I absolutely can't live with it. But for any other facial work I will see Dr. Zakhary because she was honest, caring, took all the time I needed to ask every question. I appreciate her honesty instead of trying to make a buck off me. When I read the reviews I wondered how it was possible she had so many people raving about her and now I get it!

One star is too many ... My 32 year old daughter is so upset with her results, every day she cries over the bad nose job. Dr Kristina Zakhary said she would give her a nice “girl” looking nose ... defiantly is not any smaller and looks very manly...Zakhary is not a refined plastic surgeon ( is she a plastic surgeon?) and claimed Alberta Health Care saying she had a nasal deviation , she did not... and now my daughter can’t breathe out of one nostril, she is devistated and would not consider ever going back for a correction ... Everything from the surgery (she threw up so much blood)to the results now 6 months after ( her emotional breakdown) is a total disappointment... as her mother it makes me so upset that nothing can be done to compensate ... this is a real case and if you ask questions I will reply ...please do not make my daughters mistake choosing Kristina Zakhary ????????

I came to her because I was looking for earlobe reconstruction surgery as I had stretched my earlobes over many years to about 1" in size. I waited less than a month for an appointment. In May/19 Dr Zakhary did a quick procedure in her office to sew them back together. There wasn't any pain. My earlobes look so natural now - like nothing was ever done to them. I knew I wanted it removed and I came across Dr. Zakhary's clinic through a quick google search. After learning more about her impressive qualifications and achievements, I contacted the Clinic through its website. One of Dr. Zakhary's staff members contacted me by phone within 24 hours of submitting my inquiry and I scheduled an appointment. Dr. Zakhary and her staff have been nothing but pleasant to deal with - they are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and personable. I chose to schedule the consultation and procedure on the same day which required an initial deposit of about 60% of the procedure's total cost at the time of scheduling, the remaining 40% to be paid the day of my appointment (I'm sure this cost breakdown may vary depending on circumstance or procedure). Dr. Zakhary's clinic is easy to find, bight, clean, and very nicely decorated. I am extremely pleased with the results of the procedure. The healing process is going very smoothly due to the specific aftercare instructions provided by Dr. Zakhary and her staff. They are very supportive and have made it clear they are available for any questions I may have throughout the healing process - They have exhibited an exceptional level of patient care. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Zakhary's services to friends and family. I have been really impressed by the overall experience and thank Kristina for helping me regain my confidence.

First at all, rude. You can't just take care of a patient through e-mails and phone calls on such a sensitive issue as a possible surgery. I was told that it is not possible to do anything to me without being assessed in person. She charges 150 per consultation and I am willing to pay for an "EVALUATION" because that is what it is all about. It is a comprehensive service from step one to the end. Dehumanising treatment and you can tell they are locked in a bubble which apparently has worked for them but is a far from how things are in other places. I repeat, she is a guide, regardless of whether or not anything gets done in the end, not a money machine. Extremely bad service.

After contemplating septorhinoplasty for years I finally got the courage to go ahead and do it. I researched for a few months and decided to go and see Dr. Zakhary. I felt very comfortable with the fact that she specializes in rhinoplasty. It's true what everyone is saying below that Dr. Zakhary is so kind, doesnt rush you and shares realistic expectations. She immediately made me feel comfortable and she listened and showed that she knew exactly what I needed to help create a nose that would suit my face without changing my overall look too much. I have had my surgery 6 weeks ago and I cannot express to you how happy I am. Once I had the splint removed 2 weeks after surgery, and could really see myself again I just cried. It is exactly how I always envisioned I should look yet I still look like me. It's not overdone, it's me just improved. She has exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to see how much better it looks in the months ahead. As far as the staff goes I dealt with Shelby mostly and she was amazing! :)

I called Dr. Zakhary’s office to set up a rhinoplasty consultation. She charges $150 and doesn’t even see you in person!! It’s all done via webcam! I’ve seen 3 other surgeons in Calgary and they all see you in person to make sure that they can really know your specific case and give a proper consultation. I’d advise staying away from this place. Also, the consult fee was the highest that I came across (and she doesn’t even see you in person).

With Dr. Zakhary, she was able to completely remove the tattoo so that when I look in the mirror, I finally have a clear chest. I'm a pretty religious person, as is my family and I was always taught to embrace who I am physically and emotionally. However, I've always struggled with my nose--it's droopy, and it has led to some mental and emotional problems for years. I met a girl recently during a yoga retreat and she told me about Dr.Zakhary. She told me Dr.Zakhary performed a rhinoplasty surgery on her a year ago to reduce a former bump on her nose. I wanted to get a bump on my nose reduced and I consulted quite a few plastic surgeons, who were all nice but quite pricey for what they charged. Dr. Zakhary had a great rate, but also was transparent the entire time. She told me about the surgery, what it would involve and told me how long it would take before I saw results. I had no illusions going on that I would magically get a new nose, and Dr. Zakhary echoed that and told me it's a process. I am writing about my experience. I have some facial scars that I wanted to have taken a look at and based on the good reviews I scheduled an appointment. It took two months to have a consultation. My review is not of the doctor herself but the practice. I don't feel that they are professional and there is an air of pretentiousness. I am a working mother and brought my son to the appointment who is 19 months. I do appreciate they were accommodating but I did not like the comments that I was told that the equipment was expensive and hope he didn't break anything. Secondly, what I'm disappointed about is that I was told after my appointment if I needed to take time to think about it that was okay as its a big decision and they would allow me to credit my $150.00 towards my appointment. When I decided to call and make my appointment I was then told that this was not possible and that I misunderstood. It was also further communicated it would be an additional 3 months so 5 months in total for the appointment. As a matter of principle I can not book the next appointment. I am going to and suggest others to go to Preventous Health. They were incredibly warm and it was family oriented and I was encouraged to bring my son. There was no pretentiousness there and I felt very comfortable there. Also, the consultation was free and there was never any pressure to book their services and the doctor spent a considerable time with me.

I have always had a droopy nose. It wasn't something that bothered me when I was younger but it has recently started to. My youngest daughter recently visited Dr. Zakhary for to reduce some acne scarring, and I noticed Dr. Zakhary also does rhinoplasty. I decided to request a consultation, and my daughter naturally came with me. Before I knew it I was having the procedure done, not because I was mowed over or convinced to do it but because of the level of professionalism Dr.Zakhary exhibited. She was very straight with me and thorough when she told me about the procedure. She informed me of all the side effects, and the time it would take to heal after the surgery. She showed me pictures of all the stages of recovery so I would know what to expect. But, she also told me she would be there over the phone, in person or over email to answer all or any questions I'd have. Dr.Zakhary is an absolute pleasure to work with hands down. I’ve been living with a keloid scar for as long as I can remember and it’s started to swell in recent years, causing significant discomfort and pain—both physical and mental. I approached Dr. Zakhary after a slew of prior consultations with other doctors and treatments and it was the best decision I could’ve made. Dr.Zakhary knew exactly what a keloid scar was and how she would treat it, whereas the other plastic surgeons I’d met seemed a bit puzzled/confused by the whole thing. I've been putting this off for a while but after reading some questionable reviews im going to do this. I had rhinoplasty done with Kristina 3 years ago. My results were not great 1 week after surgery. Cast came off and there was what looked to be like a bone protruding from the side of my nose. She insisted it was bone swelling and to continue to tape it up. So I did. Even told me to apply pressure when ever possible. 3 months after, I came back and insisted this was not normal and she then did an in clinic surgery. bone filing and everything. I saw results immediately but I couldn't breathe! I had major congestion issues. felt like I had a cold everyday. So she injected steroids to thin the skin in side my nose. Clear a passage for air to come thru. I must have had over 10 needles in my nose and on top to reduce swelling inside. After time the one side of my nose started to go concave from al the injections. So now my nose looks crooked. She suggested putting fillers in it or take a piece of bone and fill the area! I was shocked. Should she even be a surgeon? I went to see another well know surgeon for a 2nd opinion and he told me that he's been fixing her mistakes for years. nice to hear 3 years later. revision is in my future for another hefty price tag. She thinks other surgeons are out to get her practice, when in reality her poor surgical skills are giving them all business for revisions. After all, I have no choice. I cant breathe ever and my nose is crooked so what's my option other than paying for a revision.

I am writing this review just after my 6 month follow up, so I've experienced the entire process. To say that Dr. Zakhary is the epitome of professionalism is an understatement. She never put down the other surgeon or his work (even though I thought he did a horrible job on my nose). She clearly stated what I could realistically expect from my result and she went FAR beyond expectations. Starting with the consultation, I knew within seconds that I came to the right place. Leading up to the procedure, she was quick to answer in depth my millions of emailed questions. The day of the procedure was also very smooth: Her staff was very comforting. The result is exactly what she described pre-op. Her precision is outstanding. Again - Beyond what I expected. I would recommend her for rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty.

I would not recommend Dr Zakhary. First of all, she pays to promote herself and to get ads everywhere, which should be a huge red flag to start with. Her office is not the cleanest and very unorganized. A nose surgery is $5,600, plus $1,200 every hour and the surgery is 4 hours. A huge amount of her patients end up going back for revisions, another red flag. And most importantly, she spends most of the consultation talking about herself and barely listens to your concerns or opinions. Save your $150 consultation fee and go somewhere where you actually won’t get cut off every 5 seconds. And trust me, I’m not some random who’s leaving a bad review for no reason so don’t be fooled if her office answers this review calling this “FAKE” or calling me a “competitor”, I genuinley feel like I wasted my time going to see Dr Zakhary and I’m not the only one who’s had a bad experience.

All my life I've had dark circles under my eyes as a result of my South Asian heritage. I just had a rhinoplasty surgery done with Dr. Zakhary. She's probably the best plastic surgeon in Alberta. I wanted to get a bump on my nose reduced and I consulted quite a few plastic surgeons, who were all nice but quite pricey for what they charged. Dr. Zakhary had a great rate, but also was transparent the entire time. She told me about the surgery, what it would involve and told me how long it would take before I saw results. I had no illusions going on that I would magically get a new nose, and Dr. Zakhary echoed that and told me it's a process. She was with me, physically and emotionally the entire time and even had me back six weeks after the surgery to do a check-up. Please double click on my name to see horrific scarring below: Kristina ZaKhary removed a tiny mole from the end of my nose. for some reason when I returned to have the stitches removed they fell out and I had a hole in my nose. Dr Zakhary had 3 further attempts at fixing this, each time cutting a bigger section of skin away. After the 3rd attempt she had her nurse come and tell me that she could do nothing further and I should be thankful she did 2 revisions free. I am now scarred for life and have a huge hole in the end of my nose. I have had legal advice but unfortunately the little disclaimer she has you sign means there is little consequence for her which was reflected in her attitude once she ruined my nose. I also left a prior review and that was removed. beware!! So I read her response below....no it was performed approx 5 years ago and I asked if I could have it removed by laser and she said it would need to be removed by knife... also Dr your suggested option for fixing this huge whole was that you would do a one time filler injection for free...laughable that you expect me to get filler for the rest of my life to cover up your sub standard surgery. To be clear, I would not let you perform another procedure on my ever again, I just hope that others have fair warning and see this empty gesture for what it is...... Dr Zakhary is the most unethical doctor I have ever dealt with. A mediocre surgeon could of done a better rhinoplasty than she did. In an attempt to straighten my nose, she left my nostrils uneven. I wanted a natural look and she lifted my tip way too much that I look ridiculous now. She most certainly did not live up to the "reputation". So I decided to investigate her so called "calgary's rhinoplasty surgeon" reputation. It's all FAKE! She has an unrealistic number of positive reviews which is a legit problem on google. Businesses create fake accounts and post fake positive reviews. Compared to other highly successful surgeons, she has 100x more reviews. Why? Because it works! I went with dr. zakhary based on the reviews I read, which turns out, are fake. I've seen a few plastic surgeons in regards to revision surgery and they've all said that unfortunately, dr zakhary is extremely aggressive. One surgeon said that he has been fixing her mistakes for years! My life is ruined because of her lack of moral compass. I urge everyone not to trust her reviews. Go see every plastic surgeon in Calgary and make an informed decision. It's about your face! Value it enough not to go to a self-obsessed surgeon who will go to any extent to earn money.

Dr. Zakhary is a true artist and expert in her field. She performed my Rhinoplasty to straighten my crooked nose (that I got from playground injury a long time ago) and then I was so happy with the result, I returned for a chin implant and chin liposuction. Had a rhinoplasty with dr.zakhary 2.5 years ago. My rhinoplasty did not turn out well. My tip and septum don’t align properly. Now when I smile my nose makes a curved shape. My tip ended with some weird dent in it giving me unbalanced tip which really shows up in pictures. When I went to her with this concern a year later as I wanted all the swelling to go down first, she told me if I operated on my nose again I would turn out like “Michael Jackson” and that I was crazy. She became total opposite from when I first met her for my initial consult. If I did decide to do the revision she told me she would “squeeze me in with her other surgeries”. This turned me off from her completely. If she couldn’t get it right the first time, I doubt she could get it right the second time. Her revision rate is low because she scares her patients with her Micheal Jackson line. My advice to people who are looking to get rhinoplasty done, interview atleast 4 Doctors before deciding on one.

She is so good and awesome, I even can’t describe it. I broke my nose twice when I was a kid and had a couple of surgeries after. But Kristina told me me not to do anything and not to have any corrective job on my nose. She was honest and sincere explaining why it looked like a bad idea to do this. That’s amazing!!! Her honesty and professional approach saved my life as the risks were pretty heavy!!!! I went to some consultations before but nobody told me that, they were interested in making me pay money but not how I would feel and could live after the surgery!! I am not one to leave negative reviews but I feel I need to warn others of my horrific experience at Dr. Zakhary's office. First of all, the services are extremely overpriced as you can get some of the services elsewhere for a way more reasonable price and she claims that other places don't live up to the professionalism and standard that she performs but they do, and they are actually better. The laser technician burned me very badly, it was the worst pain I've ever experienced. She is not trained very well and is not professional at all. There's only 1 technician and it took her 3 hours to do my arms and underarms every time. Dr. Zakhary did not handle the situation the way it should have been dealt with and does not really care about her patients. I am still dealing with the scars left behind from the burns and thankfully I have found another laser hair removal place that is doing a much better job and I am seeing tremendous results. I do not reccomend seeing Dr. Zakhary at all. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I could not be more disappointed with Dr. Zakhary and her team. I really regret having chosen her to work on my face since I am now miserable. I started crying in her office and she actually walked out of the room, clearly fed up with my complaints. I now have to pay FULL COST to get the mess fixed by another surgeon. Do not be fooled by her reputation or her ads showing up everywhere like I was. Great surgeons are known by their work, not advertisements. BEWARE OF THIS DOCTOR REMOVING NEGATIVE REVIEWS, WHICH IS EXTREMELY MISLEADING AND UNETHICAL. I had an upper lip lift done by Dr. Zakhary and she resected so much skin, I look borderline deformed and not like myself at all. This 'procedure' completely distorted my nasal base: nostrils and columella are pulled way down and out! I had NO knowledge a LIP lift was going to affect my nose AT ALL. When I brought it up, Dr. Zakhary dismissed it like it was all in my head. Moreover, she didn't even try to hide the incision and placed it so low and almost in the middle of my white lip, so now I'm stuck with an ugly wide almost 2 inch long scar that is very embarrassing and cannot be properly concealed with makeup. Isn't it part of a surgeon's skill set to be mindful not only of the procedure but of scar placement as well?! At follow up appointments Dr. Zakhary minimized my concerns by making statements such as ''This is just how it healed'', ''No one can tell you had a lip lift'' (that's true-no one can tell; they all think I had an accident!!). At one month post op I asked how I'm supposed to cover an open wound that has thick suture knots poking out of it, she told me to ''try powder'' and that ''this is the best-looking lip lift'' she had ever done, when I looked like a poorly repaired cleft lip patient or like I had been in an accident. (To this day people ask what happened to my face!!!!) Office staff matches the doctor. I cannot count how many times her assistant Shelby called me ''dear'', said that I'm ''in good hands'', and ''We'll be with you every step of the way''. Every time she tried to tell me that things are looking better despite it being not true and me not asking for her input. On one occasion, she even blurted out, ''Well, you signed a waiver'', and walked out of the room. But, let's be real, who cares if the staff isn't nice/genuine as long as you got an ethical competent doctor who has your best interest at heart and one you can trust to do no harm? That just wasn't my experience with Dr. Zakhary: from her undertaking this surgery (other docs said it's RIDICULOUS she said I was a candidate because my lip wasn't even remotely long) to aggressive skin removal (again, I trusted her not to harm and to know what's appropriate) to simply blaming the 'result' on bad healing and failing to take any responsibility whatsoever. I've seen multiple plastic surgeons since my lip surgery and every single one said that the very fact Dr. Zakhary performed a lip lift on someone this young that clearly didn't need it (my white lip wasn't nearly long enough to warrant this kind of surgery!!!) is beyond ''unethical'' and ''unconscientious'', and that my options of fixing the disaster are very limited (can NEVER put skin back and scarring as well as nostril distortion is permanent), and that I'm pretty much ''stuck'' due to her removing ONE HALF of my ENTIRE upper lip and leaving me ''skin deficient''. NO good ethical doctor would have ever put their patient in an intolerable position like this, where they can't even get a proper revision elsewhere. I'm a couple of years post op now and will be dealing with this forever. This is absolutely devastating for a young woman. DR. ZAKHARY TOOK MY MONEY AND CREATED A DEFORMITY WHERE THERE WAS NONE BEFORE. She had a responsibility as a surgeon not to allow for such irreparable damage. Having Dr. Zakhary operate on me has been the most SCARY and TRAUMATIC experience of my life.

When she first took off my cast I experience some standard side effects--swelling and fatigue. However, within a week from crooked, bumpy nose had turned into a straight and natural one. I swear by her methods and would go back again in a heartbeat, notwithstanding the side effects.
