Terrible university. They take ages to analyze your submitted documents and finally give you a stupid reason to reject you, such as your school grades, even if you have a very high final exam average.

I love McMaster. I went to school here so I'm biased, but it acts like a great, giant, interconnected think tank. A lot of the faculties (in the upper years at least) end up taking courses where you meet different people. Engineers in psychology, science students working on sustainability with environmental science students, if you look for it McMaster supports an interdisciplinary approach to solving problems. It does have some faults, but so does every other university out there.

I am the first in my family to ever go to a top ranked school in Canada. They make sure your education is not only high-quality but also uninterrupted by any problems and there are always people here to help. The alumni are always noted for their achievements. Every graduate is almost guaranteed to go far. This is place where degrees aren't bought, sold or forged. If you get it, you earned it and you should give yourself a big pat on the back for it.

Greatest university I could've asked for to do my undergrads. Prof is very knowledgeable and students are very friendly and easy going. Incredibly diverse and lots of student groups. Don't get me wrong - classes are no jokes and you WILL want to pull your hair out during finals. Most students eventually will find a way to deal with stress by partying hard!

This is an institution that turns a blind eye (to say the least) to the violent, discriminatory, hatred-based, coercive methods adopted by the worst kind of student activism. Nothing was done to prevent hatred-filled mobs of self-proclaimed social justice warriors to completely disrupt peaceful lectures by well renowned academics under the pretext of standing for some alleged "higher moral standard". Places like this are a threat to the intellectual integrity of its dwellers, and a total disgrace to the educational system and society as a whole.

Worst university experience ever had. I wanted to apply for the iron ring through the Alumni relations staff, they rejected me by mistake. I was %100 confident I'd pass all requirements. However, once I asked them how come you ended up that decision and kindly asked them to review their decision and all the evidences I had provided, the Alumni relations' manager simply and rudely replied me: DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER! So, I applied with exactly the same documents through Conestoga College and within a couple of weeks I got simply accepted. I hope the Mc's heads pay more attention to who they hire as university staff.

I studied engineering at Mac. It's a decent school, but not all the courses were useful. The residences were very old, but internet speed was good. They upgraded a lot in infrastructure since I graduated.

I school here. Beautiful campus, amazing places to see. Has a very serene vibe at night. Lots of greens and trees and nature overall. The academics is also on par with the best out there. Everything is well organized to meet the needs of both students and staff.

Excellent care for their SDS ( same day surgery) patients. The nurses are very compassionate and fiercely attentive to their patients. They on a daily basis, endure a continuous bombardment of questions and comments and jokes. These people are highly intelligent with a vast knowledge of medicine and patient care. They are a genuine asset to any hospital setting and position. Thank you for your kind and thoughtful care.

Great place and academic environment. A wide variety of clubs and groups to join. My only concern is the food. If you stay in residence for a year (which most people do), they force you into a meal card, which is about 3000$. Now if you don't spend your money before a certain date, it all 'expires' and you can no longer access it. But that's if you somehow manage to still have any money left, after paying for overpriced, ridiculously low quality food. Another issue is that if you are following a special diet (kosher, gluten free, vegan) you pretty much can't stay on campus.

The academic aspect is top-notch but the student campus life is a little lacking, some activist groups are toxic and culture clubs are exclusive. Food is mediocre and expensive. The management system for student to administrate their accounts and courses is terrible.

Good learning environment for engineering, however does not fully prepare students for life after university. 'How to succeed after university' workshops are optional thru Oscarplus, they should be mandatory. A degree does not guarantee success; it is 100% up to the graduate to make their own success happen after university with diligent work habits and fostering growth through adversity

I studied at McMaster University, and really enjoyed my experience. The University is top-notch, and one the best-rated in Canada. They say you don't use a lot of what you learn in school, but I still use what I learned at McMaster very frequently.

when McMaster students looked for part time jobs outside . they totally ruined the reputation of McMaster university . They show off their marks at school but working performance is totally opposite than the mark they put on resumes . they cheated the work , dishonest manner not impressive with their behavior and surprise they named they are McMaster student

Great campus close that backs onto a nature reserve allowing for anyone to enjoy school and nature at the same time. Some residences are nicer than others. If you are accepted to Les Prince residence, it would be wiser to drop it and find a house off campus for cheaper and closer. Tons of libraries to allow for students to study unlike a lot of other universities.

I was here for an annual appointment with my endocrinologist. Check-in is thorough. Asked a number of questions, given a new mask and off i went for my appointment. When i arrived at the quarrying area i decided to stand in the hall--there were too many people seated for my comfort.

My children's school. We all love it. There are some issues about school administration and efficient use of technology. For example, the online course registration and their counseling systems give you this feeling like they want you to make mistakes so you can spend more time and money to correct it. We, even more strongly, got this feeling last year when we heard that Chinese language course teacher is financed by Chinese government and the teacher was a member of Chinese intelligence service. They cancelled the course. The way to finance it was so cheap and the solution is immature!

Not recommended for non-Canadians! My friend tried to apply for a course at Master level, she has Professional 5 years Bachelor from outside Canada with A- grade, but the admission coordinator after 2 months of repeated follow ups had audacity to say that you need to do undergraduate course again! I think they want immigrants to go to low grade colleges while making Universities reserved for their own flock!

I have a team of Dr.s that have cared for me and still do from day one due the fact, I have congenital heart disease. I have had three operations on my heart and a forth soon to be a transplant. Great school for engineering programs with good professors who knows their stuff relating to the program and their topics. Great environment, clean school and many buildings to travel around, see new things and meet new people. I would recommend this school for engineering technology program, even though it's not easy and independent work is required, but at the end you could learn a lot and leading to big success.

I love being a McMaster graduate. This university is beautiful, safe, and upholds its reputation as Canada's most innovative university. Some extremely successful, influential, and internationally recognized professors teach here. The degree you will earn here is prestigious. McMaster is the leading school in Canada in terms of medical and science research. Their nursing, engineering, and business programs are absolutely some of the best around. There are issues with every university, and I will admit parking is AWFUL (pricey and far away if you're a student) but that's probably going to be an issue anywhere you go.

I could not find information about McMaster University and how it really now fares, for I had received a M. Sc. degree i n mathematics from McMaster university in 1972 when they had already granted me a M. Sc. degree in mathematics. Of course I went to the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY in July 1975 from where I received a Ph. D. degree in mathematics in 1980 .

Worst experience of my life, thank goodness I’ve finished my program. Wouldn’t recommend social sciences or humanities here. Some of the profs not all are stuck up and believe they know absolutely everything and are not willing to accommodate for emergencies or extenuating circumstances.

In the deepest cavern beneath the university, it sleeps soundly. What magnificence. It is so large. Gem encrusted, breathing peacefully. Ten men could fit inside of it's mouth. If you come to the university in the night, look for Kelvin the caretaker, he holds a flashlight - easy to find. He will take you to it, if you ask.

Psychology and Psychiatry programs are very weak and superficial. Waste of time and money. These Departments have "neuroscience" in their title but teach so little on biology, and their TAs simply don't know anything!

People are gonna have mixed experiences depending on the life they lived, and how much return they got from their education. Overall, it is a good school, but what you make of it is largely a part of the experience. Being an introvert, I didn't involve myself enough in student activities or social life, and I fell through the cracks in the system despite being an honours graduate. They should focus less on academic theory but bridging that connection to the real world. That's ultimately where you'll either fail or succeed. University, teaches you nothing about that.

I have in the past adored the care my kids and I have recieved in this hospital. Recently they have changed their policy because of covid and now my husband can no long attend hospital visits with me during a high risk pregnancy where I attend the MFM clinic once a week. Less support during this time has only made me feel more lonely and stressed.

The University may be good in the education but terrible at service. When I applied to this university I had some doubts that I needed them to clear it. I sent multiple emails about the status of my application or if there were any missing documents for the process, and did not get a single answer. After 1 or 2 months I got an automatic email saying that I had to complete the application process because there were some missing documents, which clearly I asked them if they needed any document from me a couple months ago. All in all, I cancelled my application and fortunately got an offer in a very good university.

I've had my daughter at mac a few times... people are great here... it's always a long slow process but that's because they help a lot of people... a trip to the emergency room will take 4 to 8 hours but they will put you at ease and take care of you...thank you for everything Mac staff!

It was my first time at McMaster for day surgery and finding my way around was a little confusing but apart from that, everyone I met, from registration to after care, was very caring and supportive. I cannot express my thanks enough for being made to feel as comfortable and at ease going in and coming out knowing that I was efficiently cared for.

Overall very good experience at Mac and wouldn't trade my undergrad experience for another if I could. Like anywhere I guess you'll have to deal with staff that make you wonder how they got hired but those instances were very minimal for me. Overall McMaster is a wonderful university with a beautiful campus!
