I've been seeing Derek for a couple of months now. He took the time to assess me and come up with a plan for my long term issues. After a couple of months he referred me to a specialist as he thought it would benefit me more. He could have easily had me kept coming to see him and make money from me, but it shows that he really cares about his clients. Derek and staff are very friendly, easy to talk to. I never felt rushed or felt like my time was being wasted here. Will definitely refer people to Derek. Thx for everything.

I get neck-tension headaches because of my poor posture sometimes - I work at a computer for long hours. Joe helps me with my headaches by doing acupuncture on my neck and it is like a miracle cure. He also gives me some exercises to do to help strengthen my neck muscles and encourages me to take breaks throughout my work day. If I do these things then my pain goes away. And seriously, the acupuncture is a life saver. I hate needles but trust me - they are SO worth it.

For my first experience going to a physiotherapist I hit the jackpot. Derek and the team there were excellent in their care and they worked to make the whole experience as easy as possible. From insurance, to post care follow up. On top of that, Derek took the time to understand my ailment as it related to my level of physical activity. He showed me ways to prevent the injury from happening again and how to strengthen the area. His "bedside manner" is exceptional. I'm focused on customer service and Windsor Park Physiotherapy exceeded my expectations. Can wait to get hurt again. :)

I visited Derek at Windsor Park Physio during a particularly bad spell of vertigo. Having tried medications, nothing else seemed to be helping and I didn't have high hopes for this visit. Until this day, I didn't even know that physiotherapy could be used to treat vertigo. Derek was professional, knowledgable, and friendly. We went over some exercises, then he did the Epley maneuver, and explained everything in detail as we went along. He did not rush and made me feel very comfortable and at ease. He sent me home with more exercises and instructions on what to do from home. To my surprise, the vertigo was better immediately after and continued to improve over the next couple of days until it disappeared completely. Derek is a lifesaver! Thank you for your help. I wish I came in sooner...

I have been dealing with 2 separate issues. The first being torn MCL and Derek has been wonderful with pain management while I wait for surgery. I also suffer with Vertigo and recently did a Vestibular Assessment with Joe. I found the assessment provided a lot of insight into my Vertigo and we are now working on getting the symptoms under control. Both of these physiotherapist have been amazing with how well they listen to my ailments and help me deal with them improving my quality of life.

If I could give LOCAL/Windsor Park Physiotherapy more stars and credit I certainly would! I had the utmost pleasure of being treated and getting to work with physio Derek Purvis on some ongoing and persistent issues with pain and the overall alignment of my body. I was no easy patient, as my continuous and nagging ailments had been bothering me for over 3 years. I had ACL reconstructive surgery on my right knee and as time went on my lack of muscle balance in my legs started radiating up into my left side back and neck and even jaw. (I was a mess) Sleep became harder as I would go to bed and wake up with pain in my mid back, assuming it was related to something else. When in fact a lot of the issues were cause by off set hips and shoulders thanks to my body overcompensating for so long from a weaker leg. The attentiveness, care and thouroughness of my first visit made it clear that I was lucky enough to find someone who clearly loves what they do. Even with a mask on you could see the passion he exerts in genuinely seeing progress in his patients. I never felt like "just another client" as he got to know me on a personal basis and would bring up things we talked about my last visit in my life with authentic interest, concern and even advice. He went above and beyond in my last visit with him(literally my last as I am moving) and spent about an hour and a half going through every exercise, adjusting and critiquing my posture and movement. On top of that he took the time to listen and watch videos I had found, and would explain why he thought those videos were beneficial or not in regards to my recovery and overall strength goals. It's not often I am saddened to not have/get to go back for rehabilitation, as I had tried alternatives of chiropractic, active release and other physio(not to say they don't have benifits) but the progress I saw and the quickness of the elevation of stress on my daily bodily function was obvious that I went to the right place. The only thing I regret is not going to him sooner. The staff were all very welcoming and warm, easy to speak and joke with. I doubled up on my practices per visit, as I would see Olivia for massage prior to an extensive and thorough workout with Derek, and found that very advantageous for my progress. So overall 6 out of 5 stars! If you've taken the time to read all this, then do yourself a favour as I wish I had done early, and book a meeting with these fine folks, you won't regret it! Unless you like living life in pain and discomfort...weirdos.

Derek and his staff at Local do a great job with assessing your needs and working with you, whether it is getting back on the field from a long term injury recovery, or an acute injury that needs immediate attention. I have worked with Derek for several years now, and he consistently provides care with great knowledge as to the "how" and "why" of the recovery. Highly recommended. Ex elite athlete, now just an older athlete!

I would give more stars if I could, Joe Dyck was my physio and helped address a major issue I was having with my shoulder, I walked in unable to lift my arm under my own power and one week later I was back in the gym doing heavy pressing after a month off. He sat me down, assessed the issue and gave me a plan to use which worked! I had almost given up hope by that point. The clinic had a calm and professional atmosphere and everyone was friendly. If you need physio look no further!

He saved me alot of aggravation recently when my doctor misdiagnosed what was thought to be a pinched nerve, which after some careful assessment, Derek concluded was actually an aggrevated SI joint that we are now successfully treating.
