Sophie is amazing! She not only helped me to manage pelvic pain and varicose vein discomfort through my pregnancy, she gave us great tips for labour and recovery. I have had issues with vulvar pain prior to pregnancy, and was really worried what that would look like post labour; but it did not exacerbate my pain; actually I would say it has been much better since my delivery and special care to my pelvic floor recovery. I’m still breastfeeding and my joints may be more relaxed than normal and Sophie is still assisting me as needed to keep my hips aligned. Five stars!!!
I am so glad we have Sophie here in Whhitehorse. She is an excellent professional. After baby's delivery she helped me to understand my body. Now I know what exercises are good for me and didn't have any pelvic floor issues. Also I love how commited she is with the community! I can just say THANK YOU! I highly recommend her!
Sophie is amazing. I have used digital and in person courses, ebooks and seen her in person consults both pre and post my two babies. She is so well informed and takes a wholistic approach with science and a little bit of magic. I recently bought her pregnancy and labour prep course and really appreciated the pelvic pain release videos for during my pregnancy. The breathing techniques for during labour, as well as the videos to support my partner in learning the pressure point pain release techniques for labour were game changer for my second baby. I highly recommend Sophie's courses, and services if you are expecting or recovering from birth.
It had been 2 years since I had my last child and the pain in my abomen had been getting worse and worse. Waited to see Sophie as she was highly recommended, and it was worth the wait. After one session my pain was gone and I was able to start to strengthen my core! Sophie is very professional and competent... Very knowledgeable in her field!
I connected with Sophie after being referred through a friend. I was told if there's one thing I need to do in my pregnancy, it was to connect with Sophie. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and she has been so helpful in educating me about my pelvic floor - why don't they focus on these pieces more in school?! Throughout this pandemic, it has posed extra challenges to accessing resources for the birthing process and I have really appreciated Sophie not skipping a beat and doing all that she can to move things online and to continue offering support in what can be a scarier time. Recently took her ball rolling workshop and learned a number of techniques to help out pre-birth, during labour and post-partum as well. I would feel so lost in this pregnancy without Sophie - so thank you for doing all that you do :-)
I am so grateful for the Mommy Yoga classes I took through Physio Borealis. I was three weeks postpartum when they started and the first class helped me to see the changes that my body had gone through after having a baby. Terice is a very responsive and gentle instructor who was amazing at accommodating for all the mamas and the babies in the room. These classes were essential for me to feel more confident about moving my body in a safe way. I would highly recommend Mommy Yoga to any mama after having a baby!
Sophie is a one-of-a-kind physio who serves in a much-needed role. She a wealth of information and personally invested in helping her patients improve. Her therapies are easy to follow but effective and she is wonderful at following up and maintaining open communication; you get the feeling she genuinely cares. After working with her, I've regained confidence and feel empowered to pursue my exercise goals. I will never forget the personalized care she provided and the vast improvement in my post-partum symptoms.
I really can't recommend Sophie enough. She is kind, a straight shooter, creative in her interventions and so competent as to have really improved the quality of my life on a number of occasions. She has been there for me though they pregnancies and two deliveries and she has been amazing. No birthing person should be without someone like Sophie.
Sophie is always warm and genuinely interested in supporting my unique recovery from postpartum pelvic complications. She helps me feel more hopeful that I am making progress and helps me see and celebrate successes even while working on setbacks and challenges. When my partner and I attended her prenatal classes, he was eager to learn but somewhat unsure of his role in the process, especially as Covid regulations had prevented him from attending ultrasounds and prenatal appointments. This was such a wonderful opportunity for him to feel like part of our pregnancy in an active way. While I was in labour he was able to provide concrete support beyond just words. When it came time to make some challenging decisions in the middle of a difficult labour, he felt confident in joining me in those decisions as we both felt empowered by everything we learned in Sophie's course. We both could have felt like everything was out of our control, and while things did not unfold as we imagined, we were well-prepared to make informed choices and still feel grateful for that.
Sophie is so knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. She cured my back pain after suffering with it for 10 years! I'm meeting all the goals we set together at the beginning of my treatments. After only 4 sessions I feel so much better.
Sophie helped me recover from both my planned and unplanned c-sections and I am so grateful! I really valued her knowledge, skill, and compassion and could not recommend her more highly.
Sophie is fantastic! The exercises she gave me during my first pregnancy really helped with my delivery, and I am sure contributed to avoiding any birth related injuries. I highly recommend seeing her early in pregnancy!
Sophie is such a soulful, kind, caring and compassionate caregiver! I saw her for two pregnancy and recoveries. For my first, it was so reassuring to get her coaching for birth, her help for pregnancy aches and pains and feel supported during my recovery. During her postpartum excercize class I met other new moms and closed my abdominal seperation. For my second pregnancy I went back to my email and found all the excerizes, course material and videos she shared. I was able to get started on my recovery right away. When I saw her at my 6 week check up I had already toned my pelvic floor and she was able to close the last of my abdominal seperation right there during the appointment. I can't recommend Sophie enough! Having her support through pregnancy, recovery and being part of the community she builds around birth has been so wonderful!
Sophie has a wonderful approach. I felt well prepared for birth and recovery after taking her prenatal class. I am a second time mom, but still found the information incredibly useful and necessary. My first birth was an emergency c-section and I was determined this time to have a VBAC, with Sophie’s help I was able to accomplish this, with almost no tearing, so recovery has been so much easier this time around. And I am currently following her postpartum course information which has given me helpful tips for recovery. Sophie’s techniques for my partner to assist during labour that we learned via a 1:1 session were helpful at relieving some of the pain during contractions(which was incredibly helpful at the time) especially during early labour. I truly believe that the perineal stretch helped me have a successful VBAC, and without Sophie I wouldn’t have know about it. I would highly recommend her courses and 1:1 sessions. Thank you Sophie!
On the first class with Sophie, I felt safe and that healing was to begin. Her classes were so powerful and positive. I strongly recommend her services. She is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I really felt like she care and is passionate of her work. I believe every mama should get this informations, symptoms or not. I took her class after my 4th pregnancy and am SO thankful I did. So glad this post partum class was available to me.
Sofie was very helpful both of my pregnancies and I learned a lot from her that helped me feel better and survived the labor and delivery including post partum! Highly recommended!

Sophie makes you feel very comfortable and she is so knowledgeable and can help with any issue you bring up it seems. It's nice to have someone so passionate and knowledgeable about their area of expertise.
(Translated) My postpartum online consultation was very rewarding! Sophie takes the time to listen to our needs and guide us to the optimal solution for our situation. She's listening! Thank you very much, I come out with several tools, techniques and more understanding when it comes to my perineal rehabilitation!
Firstly becoming pregnant was a surprise after being told that it was going to be difficult, so the partner and I took risks and low and behold we got a fantastic bundle! The first thing my friends did and the best thing they did was refer me to Sophie, even during the height of the pandemic she was able to provide pre natal classes safely and effectively which as a new mum to be (who was very underprepared found so informative). Secondly Sophie has taught me the importance of my own mental, physical and sexual health during and after pregnancy, she gave me the confidence needed for labour (even though it ended up not being natural), and was there after to listen and make sure my own healing was happening and the confidence to do the activities I loved pre pregnancy (skiing....sex...and skiing) Sophie is an asset to our community for women's sexual health and I will continue to pass on the recommendation that had been passed onto me!
Sophie is just awesome! She has a way to make you feel totally comfortable... she helped me so much. Thank you Sophie, you rock!!!
Discovering Sophie’s pelvic physio services has been very empowering for me. I first connected with Sophie after the caesarean birth of my first child. After just one postpartum session, I profoundly wished I had known about her services during my pregnancy. Through those initial consultations, I learned a ton about my body specifically and pelvic health more generally and really felt supported in that learning. During my second pregnancy, I was thus able treat my body with more gentleness, awareness and respect. I had set my hopes on a VBAC and Sophie helped me prepare for that goal - which was a success! I am much more mindful with my postpartum recovery this time around, and I am grateful to Sophie for having connected me to my pelvic health. In private sessions and throughout her classes, Sophie offers clear and concise explanations, often supported by incredibly helpful props and anatomical models. Her recommendations are realistic and effective. She is equal parts personable and professional, and is committed to helping women experience physiologically and emotionally healthy pregnancies, birth experiences and postpartum recoveries. I can’t recommend her Experience package enough.
I went to Sophie for the birth of my second child after having had a c-section with the first. It was a wonderful experience. She helped me to get in tune with my body and ready myself for labour while ensuring proper pelvic health. I 100% believe that my working with her contributed to having a successful v-bac. Now I am working with her post delivery and I am feeling great and slowly getting back to my previous pelvic health.
Sophie saved my life!! Prior to my first baby I had very little knowledge of pelvic health, but considered myself an active and strong person. However, after delivery I was experiencing lots of pain and discomfort down there and my doctor recommended seeing a phsyio. Thankfully I found Sophie! We had to start from square one! I had almost no strength! Today I am now a mother of two! Sophie not only gave me the strength to feel normal again after having a baby, but also the strength to endure another pregnancy and delivery! It was a world of difference for recovery from baby 1 to baby 2, all thanks to Sophie! :)
Sophie is incredibly talented and professional. For a year and a half after my first child's birth, my tailbone hurt terribly and I could not sit for more than 20 minutes. Doctors and relatives told me nothing could be done about it. After a single session with Sophie, the pain was gone. Nearly a year (and a second child) later, my tailbone still feels great and I can sit comfortably for long periods of time without experiencing any pain. Thanks to Sophie my quality of life is much improved!
