Tina and the team at Foundation Physiotherapy are awesome! In a short time span, Tina helped me relieve my lower back pain and ensured I was preparing the right muscle groups for my climb. I was able to continue my training schedule and I climb Mt. Rainier in a few days. Thank you!!
I saw Victoria Lavinskas for a knee problem (I could barely put weight on it) and she was incredibly knowledgeable and her treatments were extremely effective. After doing her prescribed exercise my knee is back to 100% . All the staff I've encountered are always smiling and very kind. Would definitely recommend this clinic and especially Victoria!
Last year I had a goal of running a 10km race. Every time I would hit 7 or 7.5km on my runs, I would start to get a pain in my right knee and would eventually seize up completely and I’d have to walk home - never hitting 8km. I missed out on both the Sporting Life and Waterfront races because of this issue. So this year, I decided I needed to seek out someone that could help me find out what was going wrong with my gait. I booked a run assessment with Victoria and was incredibly impressed! I found out my knee issue was caused because I had a muscular imbalance in my lower leg as well as a weak arch in my right foot. I also found out that I was taking really long strides and landing incorrectly. So she gave me some correctional exercises, told me to run with a cadence of 170-180bpm (I literally ran with a metronome app playing in my headphones for 4 weeks) and to try running with with my Nike Free Runs, instead of my coushier running shoes. I’m happy to say that her plan worked! I ran the Lululemon Waterfront 10k race a couple weeks ago and was able to complete the race without stopping and best of no injury at the race or during training! Highly recommend Victoria and everyone else at Foundation, easily the best clinic in the city!
I have had great outcomes with Foundation Physio. I had a bad shoulder with very limited range of motion and after a few appointments with Matt, there was a huge difference. I have full ROM now. I also had a knee problem and that also got sorted out quickly. There is such a range of talent in this field of work but these guys know what they’re doing.
Don't be fooled by Matt's size. If you have a back problem, he will fix it in no time. I was always skeptical in acupuncture but a mix of that with spine re-alignment and daily exercise and within a month my back problem that I have been carrying for years now is gone. These folks are very professional, courteous and patient. They will ensure whatever treatment they are about to apply is the right one for you. Thanks guys!
I had a really bad fall in Nov 2015 and I waited four months before going to physiotherapy which caused me severe chronic back pain for a number of months. I found out about Foundation Physiotherapy from my work place who pushed me to attend physiotherapdly classes to ensure im capable of working. Foundation physiotherapy is awesome and relaxing place to get the therapy you need. The staff are amazing and friendly which makes the environment a place you want to be. I just finished my 3 months therapy class with Matthew Lang and I feel totally brand new! In the beginning of the treatment, I had to go two to three times a week due to the severity of my back injury. The classes ranged differently each week which was good because I learned alot of different exercises. I feel great and I've come a very long way in the last three months, i'm very proud of myself for pushing myself each week to go and recieve therapy. Thank you so much Foundation Physiptherapy for pushing me to the limit to reach my goals. Matthew Lang is the best!!!
I have been seeing Raj at Foundation regularly since the summer of 2020 to treat chronic vertigo. Raj helped me finally get rid of a 12 week episode of chronic vertigo. He figured out why it started, treated it, told me what I need to get rid of it and prevent it. His regular treatments are essential in my life. Great guy and genuinely cares about my health. This is the second chronic vertigo vertigo he has treated me for and he always knows what to do. Not sure where I'd be without his treatments. Highly recommend!
Was recommended by my surgeon here after I tore my ACL/MCL/Medial miniscus. Shirin Patel, my PT has been more than wonderful. After an initial assessment she laid out a 3month plan of rehab until surgery. Her explanation of the purpose and benefits of each exercise only made the experience better. And with each session my strength and mobility improved preparing me for the surgery. Foundation Physio also carried out Covid protocols with absolute ease and continue to do so. I absolutely recommend Shirin and Foundation to anybody.
I just moved to Toronto and I absolutely Love this place. They are very bright and the space is great, excellent location. I have only seen Katie and she is excellent. Everytime I leave she always makes sure I leave relaxed. She is the best RMT I have seen so far in Toronto! Her pressure is fantastic and she delivers excellent customer service. She really focuses on the problem area's and providing a comfortable, relaxing massage. I would HIGHLY recommend her. I leave every time so relaxed :)
Foundation Physiotherapy is an amazing place! My physiotherapist, Matt, was caring, compassionate and very knowledgeable about helping me with my knee. This past October I ran my very first half marathon. It was a great experience but it wasn't great when I experienced knee pain and couldn't do some of the things that I really enjoyed doing ... even walking was painful for me. Matt did a great job assessing my problem from a variety of different angles. He planned a program that helped me strengthen areas that would help reduce my pain. Matt was very patient with me and was always happy to answer any question that I had. He even had me running on the treadmill to assess the way that I run. I felt like a professional athlete even though I am just someone who likes to go for a run now and then. Currently, my knee is feeling great. I know that Matt will be willing to help support me if problems arise with my knee again.
Foundation is definitely one of the best Physiotherapy spots in Toronto. Matt is extremely knowledgeable and thorough - he helped me understand my injuries completely and what he was doing to help heal them. I would recommend these guys to anyone who wants to heal the right way with great people guiding their recovery.
I was treated by Jennifer who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Her advice helped me recover from my elbow injury quickly and her guidance ensured that I would be able to avoid future injury of a similar nature.
Karlyn Driedger is an amazing physiotherapist. I was referred to Foundation Physiotherapy & Wellness on Edward Street after spraining my ankle. My treatment was excellent and not only was my ankle rehabilitated and strengthened, but I began running training (all within months!). Highly recommend this clinic.
My physiotherapist, Alex Chow was EXCEPTIONAL! I had neck, shoulder and lower back pain and went in for treatment. Alex spend some time to figure out what was really causing the pain. He listened to my needs and developed an excise routine that helped me to increase my shoulder mobility and core strength. He was very knowledgeable, professional, thorough and patient. An outstanding physio clinic with staff that go above and beyond. I've worked with a chiropractor, running specialist, and massage therapist at various times, but mostly worked through my injury with Tina for over a year. I'm far from the perfect patient but Tina was always extremely patient, knowledgable, and professional. I almost regret that my injury has healed, because I won't get to work with Tina anymore. I'll certainly be back if I ever need a physiotherapist as long as Tina is still working at foundation!

I had Abby work on an injury and stress related issues. Not only was she professional, but she clearly had a fullsome understanding of numerous issues happening within my body, and was able to address each one. She absolutely provided relief through massage treatment for my areas of concern but also provided recommendations around self treatment/home care. Abby is the most professional and knowledgeable massage therapist I have ever worked with. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Solid physiotherapy place! Recovered very quickly from a tendon strain I had. Victoria helped me restore my tendon back to its original self. Feels great! Definitely would recommend to others!

Most of all, I want to specifically thank Tina Homayouni for her incredible work in helping me in my recovery journey. She took the time to fully understand my needs and created a personalized workplan based on my goals and activities. Tina is the epitome of an amazing physiotherapist and human. For additional context: - I am an avid runner and athlete (soccer, hockey, boxing, etc.) - I hurt myself on a 15 KM run that persisted for months until I decided to visit Foundation - I had 8 sessions, including a first assessment, and a running assessment - I am now fully recovered, stronger, and more knowledgeable Thanks again for everything!

Jared Bruce is a physio savant. He is exceptionally knowledged and has improved my mobility tenfold. He has helped with my unhappy triad injury and post-operative support and has my shoulder feeling back to normal after a rotator cuff injury. Thanks Jared!
Thomas did a solid job of assessing my calf injury and providing clear instructions/exercises on how to strengthen my muscles in order to prevent re-injuring myself again. I was able to book an appointment one day after sustaining my injury, which was very convenient.

I started seeing Tina at Foundation Physiotherapy for wrist pain and back pain that I’ve experienced for years due to spending many hours a day in front of a computer. Tina did a full assessment of my injuries and gave me a personalized and detailed work out plan that has truly changed my body. It’s been only a few weeks since we started the back exercises and I already feel 10x better than I have felt over the past two years. I’ve been working on my wrists for the past couple of months and I no longer experience daily discomfort with my wrists. I’m very grateful for Tina’s empathy and commitment in helping me. She’s always been so patient and attentive during our physiotherapy sessions. I have learned so much in such a short time and I’m very excited for continuing my progress with our sessions.
My experience with Shirin Patel, Raj Suppiah and the Foundation Physio clinic has been overwhelmingly positive. I recently re-tore my meniscus and Raj was able to do a telephone consult the same day and connect me with an appointment with Shirin the next. Shirin has been absolutely wonderful and was able to reduce the inflammation and increase weight-bearing in injured leg in the first session. I've been seeing her weekly since then and my recovery from the initial injury has been has been quite swift. The strengthening and stretching regime that she recommended has been very helpful and her in-person interventions are extremely effective. I notice differences immediately after our sessions. She has also been helping me with some pre-injury issues related to glute inactivation. She recommended me to the in-house doctor who was able to get me an MRI within a couple weeks of our initial consultation which is really incredible. (By way of comparison, I have yet to even hear back from my surgeon's office regarding the injury.) I have only being seeing Shirin in the COVID period. I have done this because it is obvious to me that Foundation Physio conforms rigorously to COVID cleaning policies and protocols. The offices are immaculate and the staff are always in masks. I have always felt very comfortable going for in-person sessions because of this. Foundation Physio is an excellent clinic, staffed by knowledgeable and capable experts like Shirin Patel who care about their client's well being and know how to get results fast. I unreservedly recommend both Shirin Patel and Foundation Physio for anyone looking for physio, massage or training.
Katja is a fantastic physiotherapist! She provides a comprehensive treatment plan designed to address your body's problems. Thanks to Katja, my neck and back issues stemming from work and pre-existing injuries have been largely resolved. She will definitely take great care of you. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
I've been having shoulder problems since I experienced a slight dislocation skateboarding over a decade ago. I went into Foundation Physio and saw Dr. Bruce and thanks to his treatments and exercise plan I am on a great road to recovery. The staff at Foundation always made me feel welcome, and having a water bottle or coffee at my disposal everyday upon entering made the difference (especially since I was often frantically cycling down there to make my appointment on time) 5 stars.

I have been seeing Victoria for almost a month and my experience with her has been awesome. She has great bedside manner and really knows her stuff. She’s the first allied health professional I’ve met who had detailed knowledge of my back disorder without me having to explain it. After a few weeks of hands-on treatment I have seen a huge improvement in my carpal tunnel syndrome and her prescribed exercises and tips have been great to manage my other problem areas. I highly recommend Victoria!
Have nothing but great things to say about this place. Everyone - including the front desk staff and my physiotherapist (Victoria) - has been very professional, efficient, and friendly. Plus the issue I went in with is well on its way to being entirely resolved. Would 100% recommend :) Update (Aug 2021): Had to return for a different issue, and this time had Nava as my therapist who was super encouraging and somehow made physio enjoyable (an impressive feat, IMO). She also gave me a variety of maintenance exercises to do so that I can reduce my chance of re-injury and hopefully get back to sports again soon.
I'm so glad I found this clinic. Alex was amazing and the reason I was able to recover from my injury so quickly. I slipped on black ice on December 17 and fractured my radial head (elbow). I saw Alex almost immediately to start treatment to help maintain the range of motion in my arm while the bone healed. Exactly two months later I 'graduated' with full range of motion in my arm - something that seemed impossible when I fell.

I had the fortune to find and the pleasure to work with Raj on my rehabilitation. He helped me get back to the basketball court ahead of my expectations after having suffered a complete achilles tendon rupture. Highly recommended.
I went for the Functional Movement Screen at the beginning of 2021. After a few injuries, I was curious to see what my movement patterns and mobility were like and where my weaknesses might be to address in my programming and take my strength training to the next level. I had never tried this before and was super curious to figure out what my score would be. Thomas was amazing to work with! He is super knowledgeable and brings such a fun energy to his work. He demonstrated the movements clearly and took the time to explain my score and exercises I could do at home to improve. Pro tip: do your homework! I went back after about six weeks of consistently working on the exercises provided and saw my score improve on the second time through. I recommend this service for athletes and fitness enthusiasts of any level to better understand where they are and what they can do to improve their performance. I've had a bad lower back for 6 years now due to a disc problem (L1). I'm constantly throwing it out. I've been to about 3 other Physio clinics over the years and none of them even come close to Foundations. I live in one of the condo buildings in the nearby area and naturally chose this place because of its proximity to me (pretty randomly in other words). I've been going to them for about a month now and have seen SIGNIFICANT improvement in my lower back. Not only that, but the staff (Alex) are a pleasure to work with and come across as though they sincerely want to help you get better - which is what's most important to me. I'd recommend this place to anyone. 5 stars!

I started seeing Jared 2 years ago for a running injury. After deciding to take on a marathon, I checked in with him to make sure I'd stay healthy for race day. He recommended seeing Michael for massage to supplement the physio appointments. Both of these guys kept me healthy and were a big reason I was able to finish my race, injury free. They are dedicated to making sure treatments work for me and the bonus is that we always have a few laughs. I can't recommend these guys enough.
Awesome treatments, seriously knowledgeable and experienced with a wide range of injuries. I had a serious injury which required about two years of physio. I can honestly say Foundation Physio made my recovery a lot easier.
Katja is amazing. Would highly recommend seeing her postpartum, especially if you are hoping to get back into your pre baby fitness routine (for me this was running). I was in WAY better shape after just two sessions. I also really appreciate having my exercise program accessible via web to be able to remember key things to focus on.
Great knowledge of explanations from Jared and Raj. Jared is exceptionally good at explaining in detail what the issue is and has been helpful with getting my knee back in shape post ACL surgery. Front desk people are friendly but can be a little more welcoming and social.

TL;DR: Foundation Physiotherapy is the best and most professional place you'll find! Walk out feeling better every session. Stop reading this review and go in already. Now the long one.. Went in with pain all over, to the point that it was effecting my mood and mental health. Tina took the time to understand all my concerns and develop a holistic "experimentation" plan to assess and validate where the source of my problems were. She created benchmarks on my performance, made sure to have regular follow-ups through emails with a detailed breakdown of exercises I need to be doing at home in-addition to ensure best results. Every session was filled with nuggets of well-articulated knowledge and analogies that helped me understand my movement as a whole better. The whole staff is professional, super-organized, and the positive vibe is a worth a 6th star.
Foundation is easily the best Physio/Wellness clinic I have been to, and as a lifelong athlete and someone who has lived in multiple cities, I've been to a lot of them! The team is fantastic from the front desk, to the physio team and up to ownership. I can't say enough great things. If you are in search of a new physio therapist, I highly recommend going with Katja. She's a rockstar and is super knowledgeable, effective and helpful.

I completely recommend this place for Physio. I recently developed a back issue and have been in pain for months. After finally getting the right assessment done by a local Dr. he suggested Physio. This place is located in my bldg. and it had good reviews so I thought I would try it out. They accommodated me the same day and Raj is super cool. Being a girl it's nice that I can feel totally comfortable and I really do. And especially knowing that he knows what he's talking about. He explains every exercise really well and gave great tips. After the first physio I felt better. Unfortunately after a couple weeks I had hurt my back again and it was early on a Saturday before a flight out of town and I just called them up and Matt was there and they saw me immediately. That made the difference. Everyone is really great and accomodating. I definitely recommend this place.

I suffer from Fibromyalgia, and Foundation Physiotherapy has been a cornerstone of my recovery. Alex Chow's dry needling treatment has transformed my life, allowing me to thrive in life and work, and with much less pain at that. I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for relief of tight muscles after long hours of working.

I’ve been coming to Foundation after my ACL reconstruction surgery in the summer. The location is great, the staff are friendly and organized, and there are always convenient appointments available. I’ve been seeing Jared for a few months and have received patient and extremely attentive care. My recovery has been truly remarkable. I highly recommend this clinic!

I would highly recommend Victoria to any runner needing support regarding an injury or a tune-up. Also, the front staff were friendly and welcoming.

Alex Chow was awesome! He was super friendly and funny - I felt very comfortable with him. He spent a lot of time & effort figuring out exactly what was causing the problem for me when other physiotherapists at other clinics I had been to had not been able to. On top of that he was able to target the issue and get give me exercises and recommendation to rehabilitate. I would definitely recommend him!
All of the staff at Foundation has been great and Victoria has been fantastic at getting me back and keeping me running through various injuries.
I came in after I sprained my ankle, I was unable to run, play soccer or CrossFit. After my initial consultation and well planned routines, I am back to my regular daily activities. I enjoyed how my physio (Nava) explained why the body responded in certain ways or acted in certain as it helped understand the purpose of everything, she was very friendly and eased my anxiety about returning to normal activity.
The friendliest and most professional staff you can find is at Foundation Physiotherapy. The front desk staff are always smiling and helpful. The physiotherapist i deal with, Matthew, is very knowledgeable and has helped me heal through very tough and painful times. After i had back surgery, he put together a set of exercises to help me regain my balance and muscle strength. Everytime he would alter the exercises depending on my progress and how much i can physically handle. What i love about my treatment at Foundation Physiotherapy is that Matthew took the time to listen to my concerns and gave feedback to every question i had (unlike other places I've been to) I can honestly say that i feel so much better and so much stronger. There are no words that explain my gratitude and content with this place!
I've gone through two separate rounds of physio with Kaitlin Turner at Foundation and I've had nothing but positive experiences. I'm active in sports and Kaitlin has treated me for 2 serious ankle sprains (first the right and then the left). Not only have I made a full recovery and am back to playing at 100%, I feel that my ankles and the supporting muscles are stronger now than before the injuries. Kaitlin effectively used a wide range of treatment options and custom-tailored exercises to not only get me healthy but hopefully keep me from re-injuring (which involved strengthening the my legs and my core). Overall, she's very knowledgeable and caring and I appreciate the help she's given me. If I get injured again, she'll be the first person I call!

I have been going to Foundation for massages for over 5 years and the service has always been fantastic. I recently injured my back and had the opportunity to use Foundation for their physiotherapy services. Alexandra put me on a schedule of therapies to reduce pain & swelling, then developed a progression of exercises to condition and strengthen the muscles so that I would never need to return. She was friendly, knowledgeable, supportive, professional and tough when I needed it. Strongly recommend.
Absolutely great experience!! Would highly recommend. I had terrible back pain and my chiropractor Stephanie was able to address quickly, with a smile on her face & friendly personality. Front desk staff were also very nice & accommodating.
I have had a leg injury since I was young, which has been bothering me more as I get older, but was unsure about physiotherapy as it didn't seem to do much when I first sustained the injury years ago. But upon the advice of doctor, I decided to give it a try as my leg continues to bother me more and more as time passes. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting results right away, so I was shocked how much better I feel after one appointment with Raj. I have to say, in the last few days since seeing him, my leg has bothered me less than any time over the last five years. Raj is super friendly, and was happy to answer my questions (I tend to ask a lot as I'm a fairly curious person). Also, the clinic is located in a really convenient location. Easy to find and very bright and clean. Overall, a great experience!
Had an amazing, comfortable and ultimately successful nine months of rehab with Alexandra Sandler at Foundation. She took my atrophied wrist and brought it back to its original form... Or possibly better. Couldn't recommend her and the amazing staff there more.
Had a great experience with this physio clinic! Easy scheduling, convenient location, organized clinic. Loved working with Jennifer Shtulberg who was able to understand my needs, and provide me with the right treatment & exercises to get me back up and running again. Particularly love that the exercises are sent digitally so I can always pull up my exercises as needed :)
Dr. Ryan Albert is by far the best chiro I've seen to date! Ryan is incredibly knowledgeable, honest with the length of time it will take to improve my hip mobility (which I appreciate), and is quick to answer any questions I have outside of our appointments as well. He truly cares about his clients and is passionate about what he does!
I made an appointment in this place just because it was close to my house but I was nicely surprised, I really love the physiotherapist, Katja, she knows what she is doing, helped me a lot and she is very nice too. They also have a little welcome gift and chocolates in the waiting are :) I am not giving 5 stars just because of the front desk staff, not all, but some of them are just not very attentive, it’s like “give me your money and leave” kind of feeling.
I am so happy with the care I’ve received at Foundation Physiotherapy on Front St. My physiotherapist, Victoria Lavinskas, is wonderful. She is so knowledgeable and professional and super friendly to boot! My body was a mess—whole right side was aching and tingling in places that shouldn’t tingle. I couldn’t even bend over to put on my socks! Victoria helped me to stretch, and strengthen and heal what she diagnosed as a nerve problem stemming from foot issues. I’m moving so much more freely now after only a few weeks and I’m on my way back to normal. Socks are no problem now, and a nice bonus is that my arthritis is not as bad because of strengthening all the muscles. I’m so grateful! I’d definitely recommend Foundation.

I had an amazing experience at Foundation Physiotherapy. Competing in several different sports I was devastated when I injured my knee. Jared was able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong on our first assessment and provided excellent treatment during our sessions along with specific exercises for me to do on my own. Jared pays attention to detail, is extremely knowledgeable and clearly cares about his patients. I would definitely recommend Foundation Physiotherapy to everyone.
Having suffered numerous ankle injuries in the past, I was told surgery might be the next step for me to recover. After hearing the great results a family member was achieving under Raj at Foundation, I scheduled an assessment and haven't looked back. Raj is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, explaining my issues in detail as requested, and creating a plan that addressed all my concerns. He is very accommodating with his schedule and offers evening appointments regularly. He was even able to see me the very same day I had a time-sensitive request. His treatment has not only addressed my ankle, but issues with my core and back that contribute to my chronic problems. I plan to forgo ankle surgery as I am enjoying amazing results and am back on the court. His staff are also extremely friendly and go out of their way to help with billing and scheduling. It makes sense that this clinic treats many high-profile athletes as the results speak for themselves!
When I came to Foundation Physiotherapy I was suffering from mysterious pain in my shoulder that was impacting my ability to sleep and preventing me from doing many of the activities that I enjoy. The staff at Foundation were able to help diagnose my issue and get me back up and running. My physiotherapist, Kaitlin Turner, definitely went above and beyond to help me - I am very thankful for her time and patience! I am happy to report that I am now well on my way to being back to my old self!

Seven months ago, I started a treatment with Victoria Lavinskas, who helped me recover from 4 sprained ligaments in my left ankle. She translated to me the results of my exams and made me understand everything that happened and how the treatment would go. I am really happy with the results of her work. Absolutely recommended! Additionally, the front desk people were always kind and e-mail the invoices after each appointment. That made my life easier with the health plan. Thanks, folks!
Avi is an excellent RMT! He is very thoughtful in his treatments for my neck, shoulders, back, hips and headaches. I always feel so much better and zen after receiving treatments from him. I highly recommend him! The other staff (receptionists, physiotherapists, and RMTs) are also knowledgeable, kind, and courteous.
Jared Bruce has been an amazing physiotherapist. Very knowledgable and fixed me pretty quickly. I'd recommend him to anyone.
I highly recommend Foundation Physiotherapy. I've been in a number of times to see Jared, he is a master and professional. He has completely sorted me out using a number of different skills and techniques when I come in with an awful pain. He goes above and beyond, having explained to me the anatomy of what the problem was and what he had to do. I really appreciate what he does, I could tell he genuinely cared about my well being and process to recovery.
Staff (Kaitlin and Katey) were most professional and knew exactly what they were doing. I was well-coached back to recovery following shoulder surgery and remain most grateful for their attention.

I was recommended Foundation PT by my GP for neck and shoulder stiffness and it has been a very positive experience. Alex has been fantastic in terms of assessment and treatment. Was recommended to come here by my insurance company after getting into a car accident. Front staff are friendly and the physiotherapist that I was connected with is amazing. Would highly recommend Karlyn! She's such a pleasure to work with and made me feel so comfortable from my first appointment onwards.
I saw Jared for a few months for a bicep/shoulder injury. I liked the variety of techniques used during my appointments. The exercises I was given to take home were easy to do, and progressed appropriately as my injury began to heal. It's been about 4 months, and I've had no issues with my shoulder since! Everyone at the clinic is very friendly, it's easy to book appointments and reminders are sent before your next appointment.
I went to Jennifer for low back pain. She was great and got rid of my low back pain. While Jennifer was away I saw Matthew twice for upper back pain. He showed me some similar exercises as Jennifer but learned some more info about the correct form for doing the exercises which I appreciated. My only complaint is that Matthew forgot to send me the exercises after our session (which is fine) but I emailed and followed up with him 2-3 times and he ignored my emails. I understand everyone makes mistakes and he probably couldn’t remember the exercises he gave me but he should have just acknowledged that he forgot instead of straight up ignoring my emails.
My experience with Victoria has been outstanding thus far. I've had about a dozen or more physio sessions with Victoria after undergoing an arthroscopic meniscectomy. Aside from being very easy going, Victoria is diligent at targeting the proper muscles, bands, ligaments, etc around my knee to strengthen, stretch, and loosen all those pieces of the puzzle to get me back to walking properly. I am 95% there and every week my knee feels stronger. Victoria is a running specialist and that is our target in the coming sessions. Thanks Victoria!
Foundation Physiotherapy & Wellness is a highly professional and experienced facility that is dedicated to its client’s health. I had the privilege to work with Nava Naseri on identifying and working on a recovery plan for long-term discomfort and pain through my back and neck. Nava has been so knowledgeable throughout our sessions and has always made herself available for follow-up and clarification at any time. Nava spent several sessions with me going over a detailed plan to identify where the pain was originating and to develop exercises to build up flexibility and strength. She also tuned the recovery plan to reflect my personal health and lifestyle so that it was achievable, and success was measurable. I've been feeling so much better with Nava's help! The entire team made sure to use every precaution while in these COVID times and I never once felt unsafe - PPE, sanitizer, dividers, and regular cleaning throughout. A big thank you to Nava and the team for all the help they provide - best physio I treatment I have ever received!

By far one of the smoothest experiences when dealing with this type of clinic. Calm, considerate and caring are the three words that pop to mind given the circumstances surrounding my visit both before AND after. Bedside manner is a BIG DEAL when you are dealing with medical professionals and, without a doubt, Alex Chow goes beyond the reg. concern and treats you with kind, gentle hands. He was a sincere pleasure to be in front of and is a true gem at this spot. Heads up, the front desk was also incredible sweet and soft spoken - a rare breath of fresh air at a clinic in Toronto.
Jennifer is truly amazing. I left my corporate job last year, and have been on my own ever since. With my arm injury, I had to come in for assessment and sessions and was so worried about $$ as I’m no longer covered by insurance. Jennifer told me I didn’t need many sessions which was a big relief for me. I really appreciate her honesty and integrity. It’s very rare nowadays.
I started prepping for a half marathon this year and started getting some aches and pains while training. I saw Matt and he made sure I could continue. Thanks to the great help, I managed to complete my first half marathon. Matt was awesome. I highly recommend Foundation Physiotherapy!!!
I had been suffering sever neck pain due to degenerative disc disease for over a year; nothing was working for me. Matthew was amazing from the beginning! After a few months of acupuncture, I was pain free and only coming back once a month for regular maintenance. The team at Foundation really take the time to analyze the issue, try different angles to see what you benefit from most and give you recommendations for at home treatment as well.
My favourite physiotherapy clinic. Everyone is kind, friendly and most importantly my physiotherapist there helped me recover from a back surgery. I will always recommend Foundation Physiotherapy to those who are even just curious about trying physio.
I can't say enough good things about this place - thorough, knowledgeable, honest, and most importantly helpful. I came in after a very bad ankle sprain and Matthew was able to asses and help increase my mobility after one session. He provided great exercises to take with me between visits. My progress was much faster than would have been without Matthew and I could feel the benefit after each subsequent visit. Once I had reached a point where I no longer needed treatment, Matthew was very quick to provide some last exercises to take with me and let me know there wasn't much more to gain from further sessions. Very honest and very helpful!!! Matthew was also great at explaining exactly where my injury was focused, how it affected me, and targeted his treatments to help heal these areas and also tailored them to my personal goals of getting back to specific activities. Have been visiting Jared Bruce the past few weeks. His understanding and experience as a physiotherapist is nothing short of brilliant. Used to visit other alternate medicine practitioners a few years ago but didn't do much to help me. 3 visits and I noticed drastic changes. Have to keep at the exercises. Great staff and location, it is always easy to book a consultation or appointment and the staff is very helpful. I have seen Jared Bruce for several different injuries now and each time the recovery process has been quick and I have been able to get back to 100%. I would highly recommend coming.
Jared is the best physiotherapist I've ever seen where he's eager to applying different techniques to fix a problems I had (ankle, hip) and if it didn't feel as effective, he won't give up and will try something else. He's also an excellent personal trainer, which is covered as a physio consult, and also really a great guy who's down to earth and motivating to work with.
Karlyn Driedger is amazing. Unlike many other physiotherapists or chiropractors who only spend the first 15mins and end a 30mins session, Karlyn devotes the entire time allocated to figure out the core issue and what can be done to help you feel better or recover. I had acute disc hernia in early October last year and saw a chiropractor. It helped but not as much as Karlyn did. After Karlyn and I started working on my disc, I have gotten significantly better - pain reduced from a 7 to 0 out of 10, my range of motion came back to normal. She’s also very accessible even when you don’t have a session with her to inquire about activities or sudden pain you experience. I’ve been recommending Karlyn to anyone around me who needs to see a physiotherapist. Karlyn fixed me to be normal again.
Neck and shoulder pain due to overhead working. Was able to identify trigger points, release over-worked muscles, and help recruit other muscles to take the load off my upper back. Friendly and knowledgeable.
This is the place you want to go! I saw Jared, and if you want someone who will listen to what is actually wrong, go and ask for him! I had seen to two other different physiotherapists prior to Jared. After a full year of physio my lower back was never completely ok. That changed going to Foundations. Overall, all the staff are wonderful and welcoming.
We followed our massage therapist Chloe to Foundation Physiotherapy. We have nothing but good things to say about our experience there with her.
Fantastic clinic! I heard about Foundation from a friend and visited a few months ago for a knee injury I had from soccer. Raj, my physio, was able to diagnose the injury, cause, and gave me exercises and steps to follow to recover and prevent it from happening again. I'm happy to say that after a few visits, I'm back to 100%! I have also recommended this clinic to family and friends who also have positive things to say about their service. If you're looking for a great physiotherapy clinic, Foundation gets my vote!
I was treated at Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness by Tina H. We worked for several weeks on some pain I was experiencing in my wrist. After many sessions and exercises, I am no longer experiencing the same pain I was before. Tina's been great to work with and provides email summaries of our sessions with details about exercises (including links to YouTube videos). I highly recommend Tina and the Foundation Physio team!
I came to foundation physiotherapy after experiencing a ton of lower back pain. My pain was probably a result of bad squat form at the gym, as well as 12 hours/day of slouching at my desk job. After a few months of physio with Jared, my lower back pain is 100% gone and I’ve been squatting and deadlifting at the gym with absolutely no pain! Jared also taught me how to sit properly, and he improved my posture as a preventative measure to make sure that the pain doesn’t return. During the first session, Jared took a full hour to understand my problem, as well as the underlying cause of my pain. Over the next few months we did the following: - Manual therapy (Jared basically massaged my muscles and cracked my back to put everything into alignment) - Specific stretches and exercises to strengthen muscle imbalances - Acupuncture During our sessions Jared also taught me proper squat and deadlift form, and gave me specific exercises to improve my form at the gym. I don’t usually take the time to write google reviews, but I’m so happy and grateful not to be experiencing lower back pain and I’m ecstatic that I can continue to go to the gym. Jared is honestly one of the most organized and knowledgeable physios I’ve ever met, and also a great guy! If you’re looking for physio, I would definitely recommend him!
I have had a fantastic experience at Foundation Physiotherapy. All staff are very friendly, efficient, and immediately helpful. I was in a considerable amount of pain in my back when I saw one of their physio therapists, Victoria. Victoria managed to isolate the cause of the problem right away, gave me treatment and exercises as a long-term solution. I have been feeling great and mobile ever since. I would absolutely recommend Foundation Physiotherapy.

Hi highly recommend Foundation Physiotherapy! The whole team is extremely experienced and professional. I have been doing virtual physiotherapy sessions with Tina who is absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable. She was able to help me find the root causes of my issues and I immediately started seeing improvements as soon as I started her exercise program. Especially now with COVID and working from home, virtual sessions are just fantastic and they are equally effective when you have a good physiotherapist. I'm very happy with my progress. Tina will teach you not just how to recover from an injury, but also how to improve your strength to prevent that from happening again and keep improving your performance.
Highly recommend Foundation Physio. The clinic is friendly and comfortable, and the therapists are talented, professional, and easy to talk to. I've had such great results from all of my treatments there. COVID update: they do a great job to make you feel safe, everyone is in masks, the rooms are cleaned thoroughly between clients, there is a partition between you and the reception - I was only ever in the room with my therapist or the receptionist, and they have contactless pay. And it was SO WORTH going back to see my physiotherapist after 4 months, she worked magic to get all the built up stress out of my body! Thanks Katja :)
I had one session with Victoria to assess and treat knee pain from over-training. In the span of an hour she was able to identify the cause of the pain, gave a great sports massage, assessed my running technique, and provided tips and exercises to speed recovery and reduce the likelihood of the pain returning. Would highly recommend!

I have been coming to the clinic on Front St. for three years now for a reason. Knowledgeable, capable, and pleasant therapists. Flexible hours and a technologically advanced clinic where I'm able to make/change an appointment online and access to my treatment history any time. I've been seeing Alex Chow for my left knee from a hip surgery, lower back pain from my desk job, and most recently a shoulder impingement from working out. I am always surprised at how quick he is able to find the root cause and provide me with therapy and exercises that reduce my suffering every vist! Alex is a superb physiotherapist with skills and knowledge that resolve issues and instill confidence to his patients.
I threw my back out while I was working out about 2 months ago. This physiotherapy clinic was recommended to me by one of my friends and this clinic is close to where I live. I saw one of the owners Raj right away. He is a very knowledgeable, empathetic and patient physiotherapist. After seeing him for 4-5 times, my back is now back to 100% and he gave us more exercises to strengthen my back more so something like this does not happen again. My appointments were on time every time and everyone in the clinic was nice and welcoming. I recommend this clinic to anybody who is looking for a physiotherapist and massage.
I went to Foundation Physio because I was getting knee pain while running. Alexandra, the physiotherapist I worked with quickly identified the problem and explain it to me concisely and clearly. She was always great at answering all my questions and the stretches, exercises and advice she gave me were great and got rid of the pain. The front desk staff is always friendly and accommodating and (depending on your insurance) they can bill your provider directly, which made the entire experience even better and more convenient.
Been working with Victoria for a couple months now. She's very knowledgeable and has been able to recommend strengthening exercises and stretches that have helped a lot. Hours are also really flexible (early mornings and later in the evening).
I started coming to Foundation about a year ago after a friend recommended I see Victoria about running as I wanted to train for a marathon but consistently had knee pain if I ran for more then 5 mins. Victoria addressed things that were always a bother to me but I thought was normal pain (whatever that is) we worked together on many hurdles and got me through them all. Fast forward to a year later and I am currently seeing Jared (For Physio) as Victoria has moved to another clinic, and occasionally seeing Michael (For RMT). I cant wait to do my first marathon this fall. I currently can run 7KM + without pain and I can't wait to see what my body is capable of now that I do not have pain. The whole team is genuine, caring and their #1 priority is to take care of you. The owners Raj and Matt ensure that the team is strong and the culture of this clinic is one of a kind. I highly recommend Foundation Physio for all your wellness needs.
Great service and great practitioners - I was with Jennifer and Katja and both did well to provide useful exercises/stretches and also did well to explain what was going on, where/why I was experiencing soreness, etc. Exercises can be sent to you by email so you don't need to remember everything. Location is also very accessible, right off the street. Only recommendation for improvement is that the initial booking can be a little confusing when done online.
For the last year and a half my foot has been in a lot of pain on the daily basis (nothing was on MRI or X-rays). I went to about 4 family doctors, a chiropractor, an orthopedic surgeon, who all did various treatments of the leg (including wearing of the air cast that threw off my back) without realizing that the issue was all in my back. Through a recommendation I went to see Matthew Laing who immediately was on the right track of treating my back instead of the foot. After less than 2 months of visits I have a fully functioning foot, can run and dance! Thank you so much Matt, it was truly a pleasure. I for sure would like to strongly recommend this clinic and Matt in particular for anyone needing a great physiotherapy specialist as he did something many could not do!
Highly recommend Jennifer Shtulberg as your next physiotherapist. I saw her for my shoulder injury from tennis. I felt good right after the first treatment. She's very meticulous in her diagnosis and she gave great explanation. I especially appreciate the exercise videos she sent me after each treatment. I also like the email receipts, no more losing paper receipts..
I have been seeing Katja for my neck, and Back. I was in a car accident 2 years ago, and have seen many other physiotherapist and Katja is hands down the best I have ever had. Her methods are super hands on which has helped me in sooo many ways. The relief from the headaches alone is life changing. Katja is super friendly, kind and all around amazing. If I moved out of Toronto, I still drive hours to see her. 10/10
Kaitlin was very helpful and professional. She was able to help me eliminate my knee pain 2 weeks before my first 1/2 marathon. I wish I had gotten her advice before I started running to learn proper running technique, but better later than never!
I worked with Nava for a rugby injury and she was great. She's very knowledgeable, gave very good instructions on how to help the recovery process and is a lot of fun to chat with during appointments. I'll be a return patient if I ever need more physio support.

Went to Foundation Physiotherapy after a broken fibula for rehabilitation. I was assigned to Matt, who was professional, but with an easy-going and relaxed manner. The staff are helpful and friendly, the office hours were varied, which meant that I was able to get the appointments that fit my schedule, whether that be before work, during lunch hours, or after work on some nights as well. I would definitely recommend Foundation Physiotherapy.
I've been being treated by Jared Bruce. He was recommended to me by my brother who is doing his Masters in PT and was taught by Jared in some of his labs. He described Jared as knowledgeable, professional and personable, all of which I can attest to. He quickly diagnosed the root issues of my discomfort and limitations, finding a simple, unifying diagnosis, that he then treated effectively through multi-modal therapies and exercise recommendations. Jared is an excellent physiotherapist and I would gladly recommend him to anyone who is looking for one!

From the assessment with Raj to my physiotherapy sessions with Giulia and massages, I was very very impressed with their knowledge, skills, exercises and support throughout my visits. I can happily say I'm healed thanks to them. And front desk was both personable and understanding. I would recommend Foundation to anyone in need of physio or kickass massage.
Foundation is great. Everyone one is really friendly and nice. The front desk will reschedule your appointments if you have any issues making it without any trouble. Raj my therapist was excellent. My condition was fully resolved after after about 7 sessions; when I first started I felt like it would never happen. Researching online is great to get more information about your condition, but you need to visit Foundation Physio so that they can determine the exact location of the issue and have them give you stretches/exercises to resolve it.

After a couple of years of having tendon issues associated with running, for which I went to other physiotherapists to solve with no avail, an MD told me to stop running and referred me to Raj at Foundations Physio. I was initially skeptical with Raj's assessment to do more core exercises, but he made an interesting proposition- if I did my exercises, he'd have me back running in 2 months - which was way ahead of the schedule the MD was thinking. So, I kept an open mind and stuck with Raj and did my exercises, and he ended up fulfilling his promise for pain free running in 2 months. It didn't end there- he quickly tapered off my sessions, and increased my mileage, and taught me to be self-sufficient in my tendon care, so I wasn't having to knock on his door every couple of weeks. It's now been 3 months since I last saw Raj, he emails me periodically to make sure that everything's still good. And it is.
I've had only great service from foundation. Recently I've received treatment from Jared for a rotator cuff injury that I was unable to recover from despite treatment at other physios. After three sessions with Jared I was fully recovered! I'd highly recommended them.
Came in with a bad leg injury, Raj helped get me walking again within a week and fully fixed inside a month. Was able to play a frisbee tournament at the end of 4 weeks. They kept the number of required appointments to a minimum and provided me with the exercises and stretches I needed to heal on my own as much as possible. Had my last (4th) session today and walked out very happy.

I had my rehab at Foundation Physiotherapy after I tore my left ACL. Raj Suppiah did wonderful job to get me back to complete recovery. Since then I always go there for any kind of physio work. I'd highly recommend this place to anybody needing physiotherapists.

I went to Foundation with a severe lower back condition (after trying another well-rated downtown physio clinic), caused by a sedentary lifestyle, all day in front of a computer. Victoria is a thorough professional, extremely competent, took the time to understand my condition, and put me at ease with her friendly manner, patiently answering all my questions. Foundation uses a exercise program mobile app, which helps avoid mistakes while exercising at home. Victoria was also very responsive on email. There are no quick fixes to a life time of bad posture, but I'm now more aware of poor habits and how I'm moving. Highly recommend.
Matt is a miracle worker. Very easy to get along with, makes you comfortable with a generally uncomfortable thing (treatment), and gets results. I'd recommend him to anyone, and would go again. 5 stars
Victoria is the best physiotherapist I’ve ever seen! Came here by recommendations of my co-workers. Ankle had been bothering & inhibiting me for months and could not figure out why. Went to 2 other physios in the city and was told that it was just a strain and it would heal by itself, obviously without any result. I recently had the pleasure of being treated by Victoria and my issue was diagnosed and mostly fixed in one session. I was most impressed by the amount of detail she went into when explaining her findings, and the number of techniques she used to understand what was wrong. It really makes a difference for me to have a Physio who can clearly articulate what is wrong, and why you’re feeling certain things. Clearly Victoria is someone who has put tonnes of work into understanding the intricacies of her profession. On top of all this, she’s just a great person with fantastic stories to keep you entertained while you’re being treated! Have been back for several followups and now feel confident I’m back on track to a healthier version of myself. Will recommend to everyone I know.
I highly recommend Foundation Physiotherapy. I was treated for injuries resulting from a motor vehicle accident. My physiotherapist, Alex Chow, was a pleasure to work with. I was in constant pain the first two weeks following the accident. I couldn't sit, stand or walk for more than half an hour without experiencing pain to my lower back and at times, my upper back, neck and knee. He worked with me for six weeks and by the end of my treatment, I'm finally feeling like myself again. Alex was professional, but also personable. He was supportive and encouraging. Thanks Alex! I also had sessions with Karlyn (acupuncture) and Katie (massage therapy), who were also excellent. At the desk, Kimberly, Karen and Christine were also very helpful and friendly. I had acupuncture Physiotherapy years ago and didn't like it at all it was extremely painful and not helpful at all, after being recommend Alex Cho at foundation physiotherapy I was still very skeptical about how helpful it would be, I can't stress enough just how amazing his treatment is, extremely professional and a courteous gentlemen with a great deal of knowledge in his field. He was able to pin point tight muscles overstretched from having a weak core that put all the strain on my limbs showed me great excersize routines and stretches that strengthened my weak areas making me feel stronger and much healthier condition! I strongly recommend anyone to just give him a try, you'll find that you will be pleasantly surprised!
Nava is a knowledgeable professional who has mastered her craft and has exceptional interpersonal skills: the ability to listen, patience, empathy. She has definitely relieved me of my hip pain which had been torturing me for 3 years with a personalized plan according to my rhythm. She used manual techniques, exercises that I had to do at home. To make sure I understood, she offered to film the exercises on my phone and then take it home and what I particularly appreciated was the summary she sent me afterwards to summarize our meeting and all the homework I had to do.She is enthusiastic and always in a good mood. This is the place to be to get relief from your pain.
I am so, so grateful to Raj Suppiah for helping me overcome an acute bout of sciatica. He thoroughly assessed my condition and established a treatment plan and exercise regimen for me that over the next several weeks relieved me of my immediate pain and strengthened my back to avoid future relapse. He is highly knowledgeable, ready to answer any question in person or online, and friendly. Clinic staff is equally easy to work with. And they have chocolates! Hurt my knee while playing sports this past summer. Tina assessed it to be a sprain in my MCL very quickly. She got me on a detailed and helpful plan of care after the initial consult to improve my range of motion, soft tissue release, and strengthening my hips to prevent injury during sports. Within 4-5 weeks, I was fully recovered and back to playing sports (soccer, beach volleyball, spikeball, etc.). Tina is incredibly knowledgeable around all aspects of physiotherapy, injury prevention, and sports rehab, and I looked forward to our appointments! Sorry for the late review, Tina! Avi, my RMT, was fantastic. Incredibly personable and empathetic, he works with you throughout your treatment to deliver the great results. Went in with extreme back pain and sciatica and within two sessions was able to move regularly again. I will come back to Foundation Physiotherapy to see Avi again.
Before finding Foundation Physiotherapy, I’d seen four different physiotherapists, an osteopath, various massage therapists, and a chiropractor for a lower back injury I had sustained in 2014. These specialists treated my injury with band-aid solutions that never fully addressed the root-cause of my ongoing back pain. After four years of trying to resolve my issue with no luck, I finally began to accept my pain as something that would never go away. After moving to Toronto, I decided to give it one more last-ditch effort. At Foundation Physiotherapy, I met Victoria, an incredibly talented and personable physiotherapist who took a fresh approach to fixing my injury. Within three months of treatment, I am finally pain free! I’m so grateful for the thoughtful and skilled care I received and will certainly be returning if I were to need Victoria’s services again. I am so happy with the service I received from Foundation, and from my therapist Raj. I had gone on a friend's recommendation, with a mystery pain in my hip that flared up after running, after wearing high heels, or even after sitting too long. Raj sent me for an ultrasound, which revealed a small tear in my hip muscle. He then set up a plan for healing the tear via acupuncture and physio, followed by a training plan so I could resume running without re-tearing the muscle. His recovery plan totally helped and had me back running again with no problems. I'm especially grateful that he didn't just help to heal it, but that he taught me the things to watch for in my running habits so that I don't re-injure myself -- they're very much about preventative medicine at Foundation, which I think is too lacking in a lot of clinics. I am so very appreciative of the helpfulness and friendliness of Raj and the entire staff there. Thank you!
I had a great experience here. I had initially sprained my ankle (partially torn ligaments) after landing a bad jump, and I underwent physio with Shirin Patel for a few months. Initially, I was on crutches and couldn't put any weight on my foot. With the home exercises she recommended and the rehabilitation work we did in person, I was able to noticeably progress each week. Towards the end, things were back to normal with my foot and I was able to run again. The offices were very clean/sanitized, and we both always wore masks. Would definitely recommend the Foundation location on Front street for anyone looking for physio!

I've been seeing Victoria for my knee, as various issues cropped up due to my years-old ankle surgery, and it's been fantastic! While still a work in progress, my knee feels a lot better as we've been working on on strengthening muscles and improving my ankle mobility. Victoria was also able to quickly accommodate me when I experienced sudden neck pains, and she's always friendly and communicative. She also has good tips for getting started with running for beginner runners like myself. Highly recommend!

The best physiotherapy and massage therapy in the city! Raj has played a significant role in the healing of my fiance who had his shoulder replaced after many years of dance. I have suffered from upper back tension, neck pain, and knee issues for years due to both weigh training and bad studying posture. I have tried various exercises and stretches, creams/muscle relaxants, masseuses, cupping, heating/cooling, and other physiotherapists. I was beginning to lose hope until I started seeing Alex Chow. After 3 sessions he had released my upper back tension. When he did not see progress at the rate he wanted to for my neck, he was honest enough to tell me my neck might need to be manipulated and referred me to someone else. I am trusting my knee to him, and he will the first person I go to for any future injuries. You should just do it right the first time around, and go straight to Alex! Alex is by far one of the most professional and respectful people I have ever dealt with, in healthcare or otherwise. He is extremely well read on all things related to physical therapy and is always ready to answer any of your questions. He explains things simply without sounding condescending. Most importantly, he definitely cares about his patients and really does go above and beyond to ensure progress. I have never felt rushed with him and he always follows-up with his patients to ensure you are doing the right exercises in between sessions. It is obvious that Alex is passionate about his work and really wants to see progress in his patients. I could not recommend Alex more highly. Foundation Physio is incredibly lucky to have him. I would not drive downtown for 40 minutes, for just anybody! Also, Karen and Brianne at the front are a pleasure to deal with every time!
After my ACL Reconstruction, due to complications, I only had 80 degrees flexion and 20 degrees extension. I changed my physio and started seeing Raj 3 months post Op. I started seeing a difference from the first week as Raj is very knowledgable and always went that extra mile to help me, since my case was very rare. Within 3 months after seeing Raj, I was at 135 degrees flexion and 10 degrees extension even after the fact that the scar tissue had hardened. I received different methods of treatments such as acupuncture, hands on work, exercises and forced sustained holds. I had a chance to work with Matt as well, amazing knowledge and great advices. Raj was honest & told me that I may have to do an arthroscopic cleanup, however his great work made this process easier for the surgeon to perform the cleanup. The surgeon had told me I might still be off 10-15 degrees from full flexion, however within a 3 weeks after the cleanup, I was running and actually reached full flexion and extension just like my pre injury state ! I HIGHLY recommend Foundation Physio as they are very professional in their work and have a very friendly staff.Thank you for everything !

Victoria is professional, friendly and while the healing took longer than I hoped (I'm not as young as I used to be) she explained everything and really helped get me back on track.
Injured my biceps tendon at the gym and was out of commission for weeks. Alex really helped speed my recovery and I haven't had an issue since. Could not rate this place any higher. Awesome.
My experience with Tina at Foundation physio was nothing short of exceptional. She was extremely effective in assessing and treating my neck pain, and I was able to essentially fully recover within the 6 week time frame of treatment. She was extremely comprehensive and ensured that I understood each step of the treatment, and why each was important to my recovery. Beyond the outstanding clinicians, the front desk and support staff of the clinic were also top notch. They made everything regarding the service extremely easy and clear, and created a very welcoming environment for me as a new client. I've been to physio for a number of issues before, and I've never had a better experience than with this clinic! I'll absolutely be coming back if I ever have another injury or issue to take care of.
I had Jennifer Shtulberg as my physiotherapist, and not only did my groin injury improve over only 3 weeks, I also have a routine to continue to strengthen my injury on my own time. It was a very positive experience and I would definitely go back to the clinic for any other sports related injuries. For over a year I have had pains and it was effecting not only my training but also my daily life tasks. I wanted to rehabilitate myself and fix it by myself but nothing was helping. I met Raj during his demo in cityplace and he knew right away what was happening with my body. After visiting him few times now I'm pain free and back to my training. I'm very happy and thankful. I came to see Jared after a previous practitioner was unsuccessful in identifying the cause of discomfort I was experiencing in my knee. After just my first session with Jared and a week of working on the exercises he prescribed, I was already feeling better! I have been to foundation physio for two different issues, both times great experiences. A couple years back I broke my leg and went to Matt Laing to help rehab it, Matt was very patient with me and my recovery as well as knowledgeable on the best methods for a quick recovery. Recently, I went to see Jared Bruce for treatment on reoccurring muscle strains due to my work environment. Jared was great with treatment plans, following up with emails of the exercises and a great conversationalist.

Inconsiderate and not punctual. They told me to come 15 minute before my appointment to fill out some forms. Yet over 10 minutes after the start of my appointment, Jennifer did not appear. The receptionists kept telling me she will be right with me. The receptionists claimed she was running behind which is not true because in the 30 minutes I had been there I saw her go out to get dumplings and eat dumplings in a room while ignoring her appointments. People leave work early to see you because they are in pain, try to respect their time.
I love Foundation and have been coming here for the last several months. Jared is a great physio that is constantly learning and educating himself. I had a bad knee for several months and couldn't do a single lunge without pain. After a couple months, it's SO much better, and I can do pretty much anything, pain free. Highly recommend!!

Everything here is amazing - the studio is clean, my appointments are always on time, the front desk staff are super helpful and on the ball, and my physiotherapist Victoria L. is the best. I can't even compare my past experiences with physio's as an athlete to the people at Foundation. Their co-founder Matt traveled with the Canadian Beach Soccer team to Italy in 2018 and he single-handedly worked on and resolved each players' short term inflammation, tightness and strains that were aggravated during the 6 game long tournament. Not only that but he focused in on mobility issues and problems in individual movement patterns and he took our performance and recovery to another level. The difference with the people like Matt and Jared and other physio's at Foundation Physiotherapy is their passion to pass on their knowledge and understanding of movement and healthy mechanics in an easy to digest way. If you're an athlete, with or without an injury, they will treat you like you're Lebron James and can put you on a path to better strength, mobility and performance. But the best part is that if you're just coming in for a massage or have them assess or work on an ache or chronic pain issue they'll translate what your body is telling you into a prescription, real words, that you can use to keep yourself moving happy and pain free. The physio's at Foundation, like Matt, should be considered somewhere in between magician and physician. I started by asking a question to @mattdoesphysio on instagram, he tagged me in a few video's of stretches and exercises and I got help right at home an hour before a game. Next level service and expertise that has no boundaries. 10/10. I wouldn't send my friends and family anywhere else. And I never forget to appreciate the big smiles, friendly reception and FREE COFFEE
Had some long standing shoulder issues since a surgery several years ago which had recently become worse from overuse. Through 7 or so sessions with Jared Bruce the pain has gone and my mobility has significantly improved. Jared is always looking to adapt the exercises he assigns based on the results he sees from session to session. Kind front end staff too. Highly recommended.

After my mountain biking shoulder injury I did physiotherapy at this location, Nava explained every exercise/stretch to me and even made videos on my phone so I could do those exercises at home with proper technique… Highly knowledgeable staff and perfect location for those, who can walk to this clinic.

Just as a reference, I have had many dissatisfying experiences with physiotherapy clinics. Fortunately, Foundation Physio is not one of them. I would highly recommend Foundation Physio to anyone with any injury. I went to Foundation Physio to see Alex Chow regarding my knee, and within the first consultation, Alex was able to diagnose my knee problem, administer rehabilitation, and provide me with an exercise plan to carry out for the upcoming weeks. During my follow up appointments, we managed to incorporate rehab on my previous shoulder surgery and helped me to develop a treatment program to recover my range of motion. I'm happy to report that after a few sessions, my knee has recovered and my shoulder is almost back to full ROM!
I was seeing Katja and Mike for a couple of months following a motor vehicle accident that left me with some soft tissue injuries. I was referred to the clinic by a friend and I’m happy that I went in to see them for physio and massage therapy. Both Katja and Mike were extremely professional and knowledgeable about their work. They were attentive and precise, locating all the pain points and helping me get back to my pre-accident state. I highly recommend this place for your healthcare needs.
Terrible!!!!!!!! I can't speak for the other doctors but, Dr. Andrea Horta is NOT SOMEONE I recommend going to. Had joint pains, and went in for her 15-minute consultation and she was only concerned about the time and prompting me to book a paid appointment. Once I booked a paid-1 hour appointment, she ran out the clock by asking me unrelated and irrelevant personal questions (nothing to do with my ailments) so that I can book another paid appointment!! Too money minded!! No thank you!
Foundation physio is the best physio clinic. From the booking experience, to the front desk, you can always expect to feel comfortable and welcomed. Special shout-out to Jared, who is the most incredible physiotherapist. He is extremely knowledgeable and skilled, and will continue to work closely with you to adjust your program depending on your progress and needs. He motivated you in your recovery. After almost a year of living a sedentary lifestyle due to COVID, I decided to pick up running and immediately experienced pain in my knee/calves. Tina was extremely helpful in diagnosing these issues and helping me work through them. She's friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I really like how transparent she is when explaining how different parts of the body work together, and why I might be experiencing the issues I have. I feel like overall Foundation Physio has been doing a great job of sanitizing and following COVID guidelines. I would definitely recommend Tina and foundation physio to anyone who is experiencing issues in the future.
I worked with Shirin over the past year for my Achilles tendonosis and would highly recommend her as a physiotherapist! She was very thorough with my exercises and was easy to contact in between appointments if I had any questions. She is also super friendly and makes coming to physio enjoyable :)

Suffering from Vertigo I was referred to this clinic by a friend of mine and I am glad to have been there for my treatment. The whole staff is friendly and welcoming. Location for me was perfect with public parking just across the street. Raj, the Physiotherapist is very friendly, professional and reassuring. I was worried because Vertigo can be pretty debilitating but after a few physio treatment sessions, my Vertigo is gone. I was provided with tips and tricks to stay in shape and avoid any recurrences. I am really thankful for their help and professionalism. I would strongly recommend this clinic to anyone.
I've been receiving physiotherapy treatment from Matty for neck and shoulder pains that have worsened since WFH. The level of care at each visit has been truly unparalleled; he takes the time to really diagnose and assess the underlying issue, has been able to provide advice and detailed at-home strengthening exercises for a more thorough and speedy recovery, and is just really knowledgeable and passionate about his work. Couldn't recommend Matty Laing and the Foundation staff enough!
Tina from Foundation Physiotherapy is an amazing physio. She helped me fix a shoulder and neck injury thanks to her accurate assessments and a personalized recovery program that has worked for me. I'm now able to go back to any sport activities without issues and with new best practices she gave me during the sessions. I'd recommend 100% and will definitely go back to her.

Had serious back/chest issues after basketball/snowboarding accidents and went in to see Kaitlin. She was very professional and helped me out with my recuperation. She was very informative and based on the advice she has given me, I can say that I am fully healed and feel great. Definitely suggest going there if you have any physical pain/issues
This was the 1st time that I have tried Physiotherapy. As someone who is not comfortable with this, I was truly amazed at the service. Every step of the way, I was informed of the procedures and checked to see if I was relaxed or if it was too much to handle. The first time I came in was due to my right shoulder- which I had impacted. I was given great information as well as exercises to help. After a few weeks, it felt fabulous! Then my left shoulder went. Within all the frustration, Nava saw me through it and a few weeks later I can do handstands. Back to normal. The most amazing thing was, throughout both injuries, Nava stuck with me and sent me so many detailed emails all the time! She even requested info over the thanksgiving weekend- totally work driven- she needs a pay raise!!!! Nava, you put so much time and energy into your professional life- absolutely above and beyond. I was very lucky to have Nava as my physio and I had a great experience. She built and adapted a routine over the course of my sessions that tackled the source of my issue. It very much felt like it was specifically tailored to what I needed. As well as this, I found her to be really easy to chat to, which made me feel more comfortable reaching out to her when I did have questions. All of the staff I interacted with were extremely nice people and great professionals.
I badly injured my ankle a couple of years ago and have been coming to Foundation to treat lingering knee/hip pain (result of compensation for the ankle). I've been seeing Shirin for the last month and she's been nothing short of wonderful. I've seen several physiotherapists in the past and Shirin truly stands out for her expertise (I've been progressing swiftly) and as a genuine joy to work with. She went out of her way to ensure my assessment was thorough, that I understood the cause of my pain, and kept following-up to ensure I kept up my progress at home. I can't recommend Foundation enough, and Shirin Patel in particular. She's amazing! Be sure to ask for her.
I’ve been getting treatment from Jen for almost three months due to a sports injury. She is very knowledgeable about her profession. She has been very kind and helpful to me. My injury has improved drastically thanks to her work and the exercises she provided. Also, the organization is very professional and friendly. I love the free chocolate and water. Also, the ability to collect points in each visit and using them for free massage sessions had been fantastic. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I’ll always choose this location and Jen in the future as well
Over the last 6 weeks, I’ve been seeing Jared for rehabilitation of an elbow injury. I had seen 2 other physios who were no help and my family doctor and they kept telling me it was tennis elbow. After the assessment, Jared told me that the pain was actually because of a nerve issue stemming from my neck. I felt better after 1 session and after 4 weeks my pain is completely gone! The clinic is clean, and the staff are friendly. No machines or physio assistants here, just you and your physio for the whole treatment! If you’re thinking of going here just do yourself a favour and GO!

I went to Alex a number of weeks ago in advance of my soccer season with some legacy mobility issues and muscle tightness in my lower leg. In short order I have greater mobility and am recovering quicker as I ramp up my schedule of games and practice. Excellent, professional and attentive would describe all of the Foundation staff I met.
Jared Bruce was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn’t be more glad. Prior to treatment, I couldn't reach a 90 degree squat, let alone any form of knee bending without significant knee and hip pain. This left me feeling restricted and uncomfortable in movements that we typically take for granted such as walking up the stairs. Jared utilized a multimodal approach of IMS, deep tissue massage and dynamic stretches/exercises in my therapy - not to mention taking the time to explain why he was doing what he was doing and kept me engaged throughout. Fast forward a couple of months and my mobility has improved almost 100%. I cannot thank Jared enough (despite my love-hate relationship with IMS). Of note, the front house staff made every appointment extremely pleasant (always with a smile) and booking follow-up appointments a breeze. Overall an excellent team which I HIGHLY recommend.
I went to Foundation Physiotherapy with a variety of back pains, which at times made it unpleasant even to go for a walk. Raj led me through a logical sequence of stretches and exercises that have gradually made it possible to be active without pain. Great service and professional treatment from him, at this excellent clinic!

Having gone to a number of physios with no real success, I got a recommendation from a friend to go to Raj. Raj was fantastic and solved an issue with my arm that had been bothering me for a long time in 2 sessions. The team were all wearing masks and doing a thorough cleaning before and after each patient. Couldn't recommend Foundation highly enough.
I saw Jennifer Shtulberg, physiotherapist, at the Front Street location. Jennifer was amazing and helped me with my knee and back pain. Jennifer took the time to understand the symptoms of my pain and determine the cause. Jennifer was friendly and professional, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for pain relief or to work on their body mechanics.
Best place to get physiotherapy in GTA! I had issues related to ulnar nerve and posture from last 4 months now. I had visited other physiotherapist, but was not getting any results. Just a month ago, I found Jared here in Foundation Physiotherapy. He immediately diagnosed the problem and I am already on my way to improvement! He is an expert and fun to work with???? The place is also very clean and sanitized properly! Highly recommended.
Matt Laing was very understanding of my injury and crafted personalised solutions to help me recover quickly, I would highly recommend their services, hours and flexibility of appointments is also great. I am back playing soccer and know how to stretch my hamstring for the future.
I highly recommend Alex Chow and the Foundation Physiotherapy team! I was having pain in my IT band and hip while playing tennis, but wasn't sure how to rehabilitate the injury and get back to achieving my fitness goals. I have seen dramatic improvement in 2 weeks that has literally been life changing! Alex has great bedside manner and made me feel comfortable as a first timer to physio. He spent a lot of time figuring out what was causing the pain and developing an exercise routine I could do at home to increase my mobility and strength in between sessions. He always made me feel comfortable raising my concerns and telling him my progress. As I started improving he also made a point to help me improve my form and technique with exercises to prevent future injuries. All around a wonderful experience! I visited Foundation Physiotherapy because I was experiencing hip pain when both walking and running. I was booked in with Karlyn, as she is a pelvic health specialist and she was amazing! Karlyn was extremely helpful and knowledgable, and she focused on the underlying cause of the pain. I am happy to say that I learned a lot, have become more aware of my body, and what I need to do to avoid injury in the future. Highly recommended!

After my first session I felt the difference and now it keeps getting better and better. Now I also go there for massages. OMG, best massages I ever got!! Katie is the best RMT ever. I did the Running Consultation with Victoria. In the past I've been prone to injuries of all kind, but with Victoria's guidance I was able to recently finish a half-marathon in my best time in 8 years, injury-free. Looking forward to building to a PB in the marathon later this year with Victoria's help. I recommend seeing Victoria for help avoiding running injuries.
I recently completed my physio sessions at Foundation with Jen for my knee and had a wonderful experience. She was able to provide advice and exercise recommendations specific to my case, and was always a pleasure to work with! The overall process was also very easy, and the staff at Foundation were very welcoming. My knee is a lot better now after about 6 sessions, and I will definitely return to Foundation for future physio needs.
I went to Foundation to see Matt Laing, he was both professional and knowledgeable. Within the first 10 minutes, Matt was able to diagnose my shoulder injury and helped me to develop a treatment program. I'm happy to report that after a few sessions, my shoulder injury was healed. I gained shoulder strength as well as my full range of motion. In a sea of physiotherapy clinics in Toronto, I would certainly recommend Matt to anyone!

I had an injury in my lower back back in September, and I also had a problem with my shoulder that was bothering me for more than 6 months. I was looking for a physiotherapy clinic that could accept patients with the WSIB coverage as I injured at work, I looked in the internet for several minutes, I had trouble finding one but, when I reached Kim at Foundation Therapy she gave me the good news that they were able to treat me. I was assigned to Alexandra Sandler a Registered Physiotherapist and let me tell you that she did a great job with both my lower back and shoulder. I also did receive great customer service from Christine the other receptionist during my visits. I would like to thank and recommend this Clinic as I got treated with the right exercises, moral support and great customer service!!!!!! Now, I am pain free thanks to Alexandra!!!

I had such a wonderful experience with Nava! I came to Foundation Physiotherapy about 2 months ago. Nava went through some diagnostic testing and located where the root of the problem was. Nava would continue to show me new exercises as I progressed through my calf injury all while creating a very warm and comfortable environment. Nirvan worked with my mother after she had been suffering from a severe bout of lower back pain and sciatica. Within a few weeks of working with Nirvan my mother showed significant improvements. I saw Victoria for 2-3 months for ongoing lower back pain and within that time saw great improvement in my condition. Right away, she connected with my goals for the treatment and demonstrated a good understanding of my pain and how to effectively treat it. I couldn't recommend Foundation enough. All the staff is very friendly and helpful, and Victoria is incredibly deft in honing it to any problem areas and coming up customised treatment - all in a super relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I also loved how insightful the running consultation was, and tailored to my needs. I've always felt really well cared for here and genuinely look forward to each appointment!
This clinic is a joke. They're slow, the physiotherapists run late or over schedule. If my appointment is 7:00PM to 8:00PM I expect my appointment to be finished at 8:00PM not 8:15PM or more. They need to take into consideration that people have lives and places to be. Oh they also pressure you into making fake positive reviews online. Well guess what. Here is my review and it's not a good one. Not going back to this clinic and I highly don't recommend you come here if you like to leave "on time"
Worked with Karlyn for post op recovery on my ACL. Thanks to Karlyn I was cleared for sports just 6 months after surgery. Everyone was very helpful and it was easy to deal with insurance as they can bill directly for you. Thanks everyone at Foundation!
Victoria Lavinskas, provided me with a handful of exercises which got targeted muscles stronger and I was running again (after a fractured tibia). The clinic uses "Physiotec", a home exercise app, that you can consult at anytime to make sure you use proper form and follow your program. More specific to running, Victoria uses "HudlTechnique" an app that records you running and enables the therapist to analyze your stride, foot positioning and overall body posture. Victoria does a great job keeping you engaged throughout the sessions and with the program. Recommended.
Karlyn Driedger is amazing. Unlike many other physiotherapists or chiropractors who only spend the first 15mins and end a 30mins session, Karlyn devotes the entire time allocated to figure out the core issue and what can be done to help you feel better or recover. I had acute disc hernia in early October last year and saw a chiropractor. It helped but not as much as Karlyn did. After Karlyn and I started working on my disc, I have gotten significantly better - pain reduced from a 7 to 0 out of 10, my range of motion came back to normal. She’s also very accessible even when you don’t have a session with her to inquire about activities or sudden pain you experience. I’ve been recommending Karlyn to anyone around me who needs to see a physiotherapist. Karlyn fixed me to be normal again.
I went to Foundation Physiotherapy for a shoulder injury and saw Alex Chow. He was great! He assessed me, explained what was wrong and showed me a bunch of exercises to help stabilize, strengthen and heal the injury. Within a week, it was feeling much better and within a couple more it was completely healed. The staff here are also super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Thanks so much for helping to get my shoulder back to normal!
I must say that my experience at Foundation with Jared was absolutely phenomenal. I was quite concerned about my various muscle pains but Jared's s resolution of my aches and pains were quite effective and efficient. I would recommend Foundation and Jared to anyone. The entire organization including Jared are absolutely professional. I am now smiling again without any aches or pain. Kudos to Jared and Foundation....I would go back in a heartbeat! Cheers
I've gone to several Physiotherapy offices in the downtown area and this is by far the best one I've been to. My physiotherapist is Kaitlin, who is very knowledgeable and passionate about her job. Two thumbs up!
I started seeing Jared about 3 months ago for physio from my Lisfranc injury. From the first session he was able to pinpoint my problem areas and put me on a plan to full recovery. Jared is very knowledgeable and the specific exercises he recommended really helped accelerate my recovery. He puts the time and effort into each of his clients. Each session I left feeling better than the last and I am very thankful for his expertise. I would definitely recommend Foundations and Jared to anyone working through an injury!
This clinic is the best I have been to. Raj, one of the owners and physiotherapist is very knowledgeable and effective. He explains to you what is going on and does a very thorough assessment. His demeanour is very pleasant and you can not help but feel comfortable and that you are in good hands. I feel confident that I am getting the appropriate treatment. Both receptionists are very welcoming and accommodating. The location and hours are very convenient as well.
Had 3 really good physiotherapy sessions here with Jennifer and would definitely recommend both, the facility and Jennifer. The place is clean, has all the required equipment and is conveniently located. They also email you the exercises that you are supposed to do at home after your physio session which I found extremely helpful. Jennifer was amazing. She is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She took time to understand the problem areas and then provided me with the right exercises. She was also very pleasant and professional throughout.
From the exceptionally friendly front desk staff to my physiotherapy treatment, my experience at Foundation has been nothing but positive. I had been battling a knee injury for a few months when I booked an appointment with Alex Chow. Alex is hands down, the best physiotherapist I've ever worked with. He is knowledgeable, dedicated, and shows genuine care towards his patients. In the past, physiotherapists often isolated and treated my symptoms of pain, but Alex identified root causes of my injury and developed a treatment and conditioning plan to tackle the issue as a whole. He used a combination of electroacupuncture and manual therapy to treat my injury, and set me up with a great foundation for performing strengthening exercises on my own. Tina is my physiotherapist. She's amazing! For the first time in my life, I finally have a physio who talks me through and educates me with what's going on. She's extremely patient, accessible and very professional. The clinic itself is really clean and are always great with scheduling/rescheduling appointments.

I recently contacted Foundation Physiotherapy and immediately got an appointment with Victoria Lavinskas for an aggravated, historical neck/shoulder injury. I was very impressed with that first appointment and my subsequent sessions. Victoria is a very competent, professional and approachable therapist who listens and observes intently, quickly setting about her business helping me understand my injuries as she worked to resolve my pain and mobility issues. Jen (Physio Therapist) was awesome! I had a hard time with my sciatica, which was extremely painful and hard to walk anywhere. Jen was amazing and spent the time to treat me over a few sessions. She assigned me in-home stretches & exercises that I found very helpful in building my strength back again. Also, the exercises were accessible online, which was very convenient and easy to follow! Absolutely recommend and thank you!
A big thanks to Katie at Foundation for relieving me of some serious upper back pain through her great massages. All healed, up, but I'll be continuing to come see her for a while to come! Highly recommended.

I was having major issues with my ankle to the point where I could barely walk. My doctor recommended physiotherapy for it and after researching a few places, I chose Foundation Physiotherapy based on the excellent reviews I read. Kaitlyn immediately was able to diagnose the issue and implement a program to help build my ankle back up and correct the issues that were causing this pain. Turns out it was more than just the ankle, but also my back, hips, calf etc. My ankle was just bearing the brunt of the pain. I went from hardly being able to put any weight on it, to being able to walk normally in a matter of week after the adjustments and exercises recommended by Kaitlin. She used a mixture strengthening exercises, cupping, and acupuncture to help heal. I highly recommend Kaitlin and the entire team at Foundation Physiotherapy to help you feel better!
I have had a great experience with Shirin. She's very knowledgeable and was great in helping me recover from an injury. The clinic is very easy to get hold of and they were always accommodating. Definitely recommend them!
This place is amazing. I’ve had recurring lower back pain due to an old injury and my physiotherapist, Katja, has helped me for over a year. She is patient, extremely knowledgeable and also very caring. She has helped me a lot through my pain and in regaining movement and strength in my lower back. I’ve also had a couple of massage therapy sessions with Michael and he was amazing as well. I would highly recommend this clinic - the staff is very helpful and the therapists are extremely professional and knowledgeable.
I've been getting treatment for back pain at Foundation Physiotherapy for a year now, and I am extremely happy with the clinic; from the physiotherapists, to the massage therapist, to the front desk staff, I couldn't ask for better, friendlier or more professional service! I have seen two of the physios -- Matt and Kaitlin -- on different occasions, and they were some of the best therapists I've worked with. Not only are they good at quick fixes -- I've been in a few times where I almost couldn't walk or sit, and they sent me out the door feeling worlds better -- but Kaitlin, the therapist who has worked with me most closely, has also been instrumental in helping me rehabilitate my body in the long term. She took the time to develop an exercise routine that fit my lifestyle, time commitment and fitness goals, which is something that I really appreciated. She also has a great eye for detail and a willingness to work through problems that set her apart from therapists I've seen at other clinics. As for the massage therapist, Katie, she is professional, friendly, and great at what she does. Even on days where I was in a lot of pain, I always left my massage feeling refreshed, energized and able to get back to my day. Katie even coordinated her treatment with the physios, which meant that my massages helped directly in my overall recovery. She is definitely the best massage therapist I've been treated by. Finally, I have to say that the front staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met, and they work closely with the rest of the team to coordinate treatment in a way that takes a lot of the headache out of booking. They go out of their way to make sure that you get the services you need and make you feel welcome in the clinic. When the clinic was busy, they even called me to let me know about appointments opening up -- you don't find that everywhere. All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about Foundation Physiotherapy. I would recommend it to anyone in Toronto. I commute an hour to get there, and it is well worth the time.
Overall great experience with Foundation Physiotherapy and Tina Honayouni. Went in for a concussion and Tina developed a comprehensive plan that was easy to follow but still gave results. Exercises and work done was modified depending on how I was doing.
Foundation was referred to me by another health professional who had heard good things from her clientele. Victoria worked with me and was awesome - she explained the why and what, which helped me to understand the treatment and motivated me to perform the exercises that led to my healing. HIghly recommended.

Had 6 sessions with Jared Bruce for a longstanding shoulder problem, and by the end of it was feeling better than ever. This may be a long review but I hope it won't deter others from reading it who are likely in the same situation as I was in. I had been living with bad lower back pain for a number of years but it was a recent accident that set it off badly, causing pain down my legs. I'd been to a couple physio therapists in Toronto at this time and was only somewhat satisfied. I'm very cautious when it comes to chiropractors/physio therapists as I'm never sure if it will be worth my time, money or most importantly, if it will actually help with the pain. So I decided to go to Foundation because of the positive reviews and it's proximity to my place. I got an appointment with Alex Chow. In short; SEE THIS MAN! Alex truly renewed my faith in fixing my lower back pain problems. And I mean fix, not just temporarily relieve. For starters, I was blown away by how kind, knowledgable, and genuinely concerned he was. He went through everything with me, seeing how I was able to bend and twist and really digging deep to find the root of the problems. He asked me for a full recap of my back pain history; where it started, what sets it off, what makes it feel better and actually took notes and asked question, which is something that can't be said for other physio therapists I've seen in the city. With each visit he would do a run down of my progress and always give me new, effective exercises to do during the week before my next visit. After about 3 weeks I was feeling more in tune with how I was years earlier. I remember always reading reviews and thinking "well it's probably not as good as they say it is", and it's funny to see that I'm now contributing to one of those very reviews I judged. But believe me when I say that Alex really helped me out and I'm feeling better than I have in a long time. Anyone looking for help with pain should check them out!
I had a good experience at Foundation Physio and it is one that I would recommend for others. Jennifer was friendly and helpful. After every session she would email the list of exercises with video examples to show proper form. Sessions were very quick and efficient and the facility is clean!

Jared is an amazing physiotherapist. He is very thorough, professional and respectful. He is a very hands-on and involved physiotherapist, not one that leaves you doing exercises or hooked up to a tens machine. On the first visit he does a full assessment, and at the beginning of each subsequent visit he always asks about improvements and any new issues. He makes notes so that he can track your progress and adjust treatment areas and techniques accordingly. He also shows you exercises and gives great advice on things you can do at home in between treatments. If you are looking for results, go to Jared; I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a top notch physiotherapist.
I was having pain during and after even short runs. After months of ineffective treatments at another clinic, a friend recommended Jared. Jared's diagnosis was quick and evidently accurate. When I first came to Foundation I had been dealing with a running-related hip injury for two months. Victoria assessed my running technique and the tension in my hip and provided me with at-home exercises. I was all better within 2 weeks! I've been to a few physiotherapist clinics around the city but Foundation is the best by far. The staff is efficient and friendly and the clinic itself is modern and in great condition. I've been a regular client for 4 months now and am training for a half-marathon with Victoria as both my coach and physiotherapist. Victoria is super professional and wonderful at quickly assessing and resolving any injuries or issues that come up in my training. My home exercises that she's prescribed me have made me a stronger and more efficient runner and I already feel prepared to run the half in October. Best physiotherapy clinic in the city!
I started seeing Victoria Lavinskas when I hurt my back. I went somewhere close to work. My coworker said she liked going there. And what a great decision. The front desk staff are always pleasant when I come in. Victoria has been great to work with. She is friendly and knowledgeable and has a passion for making you feel better. I see Jared Bruce for Physio, Avishek Bhattacharjee for massage, and Ryan Albert for Chiro. They're all legends. Jared is an absolute master, truly amazing and down to earth, Avishek listens to what you want and delivers perfectly, always going above and beyond and Ryan is also a true pro that cares. The front staff are great too! 10/10 would recommend.
Olivia is an amazing physiotherapist and her warmth and openness made her easy to talk to. I visited her at the Corktown location with a condition that had been undiagnosed for over a decade. She was able to recognize it immediately and assure me that with some specific exercises I could decrease and possibly eliminate the problem. I followed her direction and recommendations and it made all the difference. Olivia was the first one to recognize the problem and spell out a clear path to repair. I would highly recommend her.

After years previous to finding Foundation Physiotherapy, I went to multiple different practitioners without much improvement and declining health. Physiotherapist Raj Suppiah, turned my life around with his treatment and care, improving my quality of life drastically. I continue to go on occasion for adjustments and flare-ups, and have always left feeling better with significant more mobility and peace of mind. The staff at the front desk have always been effective and accommodating with booking and I can't recommend this place, and Raj enough.

Working with Shirin from Foundation Physiotherapy & Wellness has been a great experience. After 8 weeks of training/exercising, we were able to strengthen my knee, so that I could continue running. Prior to visiting Foundation Physiotherapy, I was suffering from knee pain as soon as I started running (as a result of overtraining in 2020). Through the exercises and stretches that Shirin recommended that I complete, my knee pain has disappeared, and I'm back to running multiple times a week. I've had weekly appointments with Nava for around 4 months due to several injuries on my left leg (hamstring tear, toe fracture, stiff ankle). I always walked out of appointments feeling more mobile and motivated to keep doing the exercises that helped get me back on track. I am slowly easing back into sports and am thankful for the guidance and accelerated progress Foundation and Nava facilitated. The banter and humour at each appointment made the experience even better.
Deserving of 5 full stars because of Avi. Avi is knowledgeable, understanding, and holds himself to the highest of standards to ensure his clients are given the best possible treatment. I've had issues with my back for a prolonged period of time which was rectified within simply one session with Avi. With continued treatment, my back felt better than it was before the issues emerged! Furthermore, Avi goes above and beyond to ensure you feel at ease with your sessions. 100% recommend you attend Foundation physio and book a session with Avi to see for yourself!
After having visited a few different specialists (chiro, osteo and physio) for hip and lower back pain I finally found some relief with the program Jared has given me. He was very thorough and professional in assessing and recommending some exercises and stretches for me to integrate into my daily routine. Couldn't recommend him more.

I have had several sessions with Jared to help relieve the pain and tingling sensation in my shoulder. I was pleasantly surprised that the work he did yielded great results! Foundation Physio has helped me through several recovery processes. I play a full contact sport and I trust that they understand both the demands on my body and also my commitment to continue to play. All the staff there are friendly and I have always received excellent care. I am happy to be currently injury-free, although I do miss seeing Alexandra every week. :)
I had been having problems when my neck and shoulder on my left side. The problem had been persisting and wouldn't go away. Luckily I was able to find Foundation Physiotherapy which was close to work and was the main reason why I went. But it is definitely worth checking out if you have any nagging problems with your body regardless of how close you are. Katlin was great, she was very thorough in her assessment of the problem. She explained the problem to me and gave me suggestions on day-to-day stuff to make sure I don’t make things worse as well as exercises that definitely helped me on my path to recovery. All the other staff are very friendly as well. Highly recommended.
I've been going to Foundation Physio for about 5 months now, and it is by far the best physio experience I've encountered. I've had the pleasure of being treated by Matt, Jared, and Victoria. Each one has been super professional, knowledgeable and extremely good at what they do. Constantly showing excellent strengthening and stretching exercises to get rid of all my aches and pains. My initially appointment was for tight hips and lower back. Since then, I've been treated for a sprained ankle, stiff neck and foot pain. Also, love what they have been doing with the community and local sports teams like Canada Beach Soccer and the Toronto Wolfpack! Definitely should check them out at the next community event in Toronto. Highly recommend these guys!
I’ve been a Foundation Physio client for over 5 years now and that’s because the quality of service is always there. Most recently, my prenatal and postnatal experience with Nava has been exactly that. She’s knowledgeable, professional and super friendly! I started seeing her when I was 12 weeks pregnant, continuing every 4 weeks until I gave birth. I have always been active and being pregnant I needed an expert in the field to help me prime my pelvic floor muscles. We worked on pelvic floor strengthening to help support my pregnancy and labour and strategies to help with labour and birth including labour positions and breathing. My recovery post birth was very quick and smooth and I think I owe a lot of it to my exercise but also all the work and guidance from Nava! Now I’m 3 months postpartum and back to exercising and feeling great! I highly recommend Nava and her expertise! Thank you ❤️
I have had a great experience at Foundation Physiotherapy. My PT Tina Homayouni made every session super fun and easy to follow. The exercises were beneficial and helped my injury in a great way. She made sure that it doesn’t just heal but gets stronger too. She is the best physio I have experienced!

If you're looking for a physiotherapy place and aren't sure where to go - stop looking. This is the place! When my doctor suggested I try physiotherapy to help with my chronic leg pain, I was unsure about it at first. I had never done it before, so I wasn't sure what to expect... but I'm super glad I went. Nava Naseri was my physiotherapist and she rocked. Super friendly & professional at the same time, it was a joy to go in. She even went the extra mile and responded to my emails after hours - outstanding. She told me up front how many sessions we would aim for, and never pushed for any unnecessary expenses. I was sad to leave - but she's too good! My leg is great and I'm back to running like I used to. And a special shoutout to Yvette at reception who was always a pleasure to talk to.
I have had a great experience through their running assessment program with Victoria. Victoria was able to provide me a break down on how I was running, and ways to fix/improve my form. Since the assessment, I was able to reach a new personal best for a 10km race. I really recommend any runners, whether beginners or advanced runners, to check out the program.
The experience with foundation was all too smooth. The booking and the appointment all until treatment went absolutely smooth. I was experiencing numbness and tingling in my feet and tightness in my legs and back. A simple thing like walking to the train was becoming a problem. After my first visit with Jared Bruce I felt so much better I wanted to go back the next day and hug him! He took the time to explain what was going on and how we are going to fix this together with treatments and exercises. I am so happy to feel back to normal again...Thank you Jared!
I have had an excellent experience with Foundation! I broke my humerus and incurred radial nerve damage from a fall off my horse and require PT to get my strength and ROM back. I have worked with Thomas for the past month and he has been absolutely exceptional. He is very knowledgeable on the recovery process for both my bone and nerve injury. He has also somehow made my “30 minutes of stretch torture” every week quite enjoyable with great conversation and ~humerus~ banter. Thank you!
I am a long-term client of Foundation Physiotherapy (since December 2018), and I continue to feel very fortunate to have found this clinic, as the service since day one has been without parallel. It is an up to date and modern facility, that is staffed by very knowledgeable and conscientious professionals, and the Client Experience team members are well-organized and a pleasure to deal with. Also, due the fact the CoVid-19 safety protocols have been exceeded (I am a front-line worker myself), I have peace of mind knowing that I am safe during each and every session during the pandemic. Shirin has been my physiotherapist since July 2020. She continually strives not only to help heal the client, but also to improve her skill-set by taking additional courses in order to help facilitate that healing. This has been evident in the treatment that she has provided me with. She has also provided me with the necessary supporting documentation requested by my employer, to ensure that the compliance surrounding my long-term shoulder disability has been met. I am able to maintain my livelihood due to her all-encompassing treatment, acumen and commitment. I started seeing RMT Avishek in July of 2021. He is a thoroughly dedicated practitioner who goes above and beyond the call of duty, and he is also an engaging and thought-provoking conversationalist. I find that sessions with him encompass the whole "mind, body, and soul" healing ethos. He also ensures that there is a synergetic approach between him and my physiotherapist when it comes to the actual treatments. I always feel significantly better after seeing him, and ready to tackle another physically challenging work-week. He is a terrific addition to the team. I applaud the owners for continuing to recruit top-tier team members, and for their efforts to ensure that the clinic remains safe during this multi-year pandemic.
I would definitely recommend Alex Chow for anyone in need of some physio. He is knowledgeable and friendly and trained in acupuncture which is a bonus. The facility is great and all staff are friendly.
I’ve been going to Foundation Physiotherapy for over a year now. I had a Meniscus tear last year and I was seeing them. The physiotherapists and whole team are very experienced. The clinic is friendly and comfortable, and the therapists are professional, and easy to talk to. The massage therapists are highly effective and you’ll come out after the treatment feeling great! I would highly recommend them.

The incredible staff at Foundation Physiotherapy will make you feel comfortable and at ease as you recover from whatever ails you. They are knowledgeable and patient, taking to time to explain the mechanics of your injury and how the treatment you are receiving works to correct the problems you have. After my very first session I felt an improvement which steadily increased as I continued to see Raj, who I have now dubbed my "health care hero." As someone who has never enjoyed physical activity, I was amazed to find that Raj was able to motivate me to "rebuild myself"! Not only did he help me recovery from an injury that had literally disrupted my entire life, but his coaching and encouragement got me motivated enough to keep up with exercising after my treatment had ended. I saw physiotherapist Alex this summer after a joint dislocation. I felt dramatic improvement after the very first visit! He gave me a comprehensive recovery program, and was extremely helpful. My time was respected, as 95% of my appointments started within 4 minutes of my scheduled time. The office is clean and welcoming. The treatment rooms and tables are in good condition. I would recommend Alex to anyone requiring a physiotherapist.
I have been seeing Raj for a ruptured patellar tendon since August and I have nothing but good things to say. So far the treatment has been tailored to my needs and I feel like I am on the right road to recovery.
I have been suffering from chronic shoulder pain for last one year and that was very stressful. Had physio sessions in multiple place but nothing went well. I had lost faith in physiotherapy and one fine day I thought to give it a try at foundation and it took me only a 2 weeks to see the difference and thankfully I regain faith in physiotherapy. Credit goes to Tina Homayouni, who took the charge and eventually my shoulder almost healed now in around 12+ sessions and I will definitely go for another chronic back pain treatment I am dealing with for so long. I began a intensive workout routine in January of last year (having never worked out at a gym before), and quickly ran into issues with my right knee. Due to improper form while performing squats, I found myself limping around for a number of weeks, with my knee in constant pain. I visited Foundation (based off their many positive reviews) and had Raj Suppiah check out my knee. After a basic assessment, Raj explained how I had dislocated my knee, then realigned it using a number of therapeutic techniques/ massages/ tape, and showed me numerous exercises I could do on a daily basis to help heal my knee. My knee issue would clear up completely after 2-3 weeks. The similar pain did come back in June, along with some nerve irritation in October (that was from sleeping on my side), but follow-up appointments with Raj solved those issues as well. I've been in great health since :) I'm quite happy I chose Foundation for my physio needs. Raj was very knowledgeable, friendly, and really efficient in solving my knee issues. I definitely recommend Foundation to anyone in need of physiotherapy.
I have been seeing Victoria Lavinskas at Foundation Physiotherapy for about 5 months now. I came in with lower back pain that made it quite difficult for me to walk on some days and go on about my normal activities. I was also feeling numbness in my left foot due to nerve tension in my lower spine area. From my very first appointment with Victoria, she has been extremely resourceful, friendly, and immensely positive and helpful. I was very impressed with how quickly she was able to identify the root cause. She has provided me with weekly exercises that evolve as I progress and they have been super helpful. Everyone at Foundation is very professional and approachable and I have full confidence in the staff here at this clinic.
I was recently involved in my first (and hopefully last) car accident which led to some painful injuries. I have been coming to Foundation Physio for the last 2 years and can't say enough about the place! The team is incredible...everything from the pleasant receptions to the level of expertise from their therapists. I have been seeing Matt Lang for physio & dry needling acupuncture, and Chloe Tudor for deep tissue sports massage and between the 2 of them can't thank them enough for sorting out my chronic lower back and shoulder injury. Matt is an incredible physiotherapist and one of the best acupuncturists I've been to. He completely fixed my rotator cuff injury and really helps manage my chronic lower back pain. Chloe Tudor is a great sports massage therapist and offers instant relief for active individuals. She uses a guasha tool to break down the scar tissue and it really helps. Victoria Lavinskas is a excellent Physiotherapist, she has helped to recover from a nasty running injury. The exercise and treatment prescribed from her has helped me to come back to my running routine. The running assessment on the treadmill done in the facility by Victoria has improved my cadence as well. Advice for improving running posture was also provided by Victoria. I highly recommend Victoria to any runner trying to improve running posture or trying to come back to running after being injured! Front Desk Staff very friendly. Five stars!
Avishek Bhattacharjee is a very professional, skillful, and helpful massage therapist. I could always have an amazing experience when having a deep tissue massage. He knows what he's doing so well, so definitively highly recommended.

Jen Shtulberg was great and helped me be pain-free. After every appointment, the patient portal was updated with my new exercise program. It was really handy to be able to access the exercises online. The reception staff are very pleasant and appointments were always on time.

The staff at Foundations are always warm and welcoming. As a former national level athlete who has undergone several surgeries, the physiotherapists are very knowledgeable and work within your parameters. I would still be on the road to recovery if it were not for them.

Raj is by far the best physiotherapist there is. And I have been to a fair number of pt in my life due to injuries from my car accident. Suffered from sciatica, could barely walk, was on anti inflammatory and muscle relaxants - nothing helped. Went to Raj, and I was able to walk within a week and within a few sessions I was pain free. I am now getting treatment for shoulder/rib pain and again, he knows exactly how to fix the problem. Even better than any doctor I’ve been to. Front desk staff are so friendly and always helpful with scheduling appointments/rescheduling. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

I found Foundation online and am glad I did. Kaitlin's assessment was bang-on. She figured out the problem I was having with my shoulder, set out a course of treatment, and got results quickly. I was treated at Foundation Physiotherapy by Nava over the course of 3 months. I initially came in with a lot of back pain due to WFH. The pain radiated to my glute and leg, which made it difficult to move and kept me in bed for days at a time. Nava is very knowledgeable and showed me a lot of stretches/exercises as well as applied manual techniques that made me feel better after each session. She also followed up with detailed emails of the exercises that I needed to do in order to prevent pain in the future. I now feel significantly better and am able to prevent pain and discomfort before becoming immobile in the first place.
Great experience with Nava @ Foundation! She helped assess, monitor and put together a progressive plan to strengthen my lower back so I can get back to doing the physical activities I love (e.g., cycling, full-body workouts). She personalized my plan based on my previous activities and current abilities. She was also extremely friendly and supportive throughout the entire process. In terms of the facilities, safety and precautions Foundation felt safe during COVID times, requiring all patients and staff to mask up and sanitize consistently. Would recommend!

I have been going to Foundation at Front since its early days, and have been helped with numerous concerns (mainly from running related injuries). All of the physio staff I have consulted with have been great (most recently I've been seeing Katya, who is very friendly, has excellent knowledge and does a fabulous job releasing the tight spots in my legs). I always walk out feeling much better than when I entered, and with great exercises to correct and avoid similar future injuries. Massage therapy has also been great there -- they pay attention to where you want to focus the massage and ensure your comfort with the level of pressure.
I had a great experience working on my rehab with Jennifer and Fern. The entire staff from front desk to therapists were very friendly and supportive throughout the entire process. They really cared about my recovery and were very accommodating. I would highly recommend them.

My experience with Foundation Physiotherapy was very positive. The staff were always friendly and helpful. I worked with Matt Laing for my injury, and I highly recommend him for any physiotherapy needs. He was very knowledgeable and was very good at communicating that knowledge, which is a big thing for me. Understanding exactly what the pain was, where it was coming from and why was very helpful in my recovery. He also provided some between session exercises and stretches to help me ease the strain on my injured arm. I saw Katie for massage and she was also fantastic. I always came away from a massage feeling great and looking forward to the next one. I highly recommend Foundation Physiotherapy.
Foundation physio is probably the best physio clinic downtown. Raj is super knowledgeable. He actually spends the entire appointment with the patient and won’t let you leave until you do the exercises perfectly, firing up the right muscles. Definitely recommend.
Foundations Physiotherapy & Wellness is an exceptionally clean clinic. They are clearly taking every precaution with covid and are regularly cleaning/sanitizing. I have been training with Jared Bruce for a number of months through the clinic's new training program. With Jared's thoughtful instruction and expertise, I have past a number of physical milestones and no longer suffer pain from previous injuries. No better physio around!
I went to Jared for a calf injury from running. He was extremely helpful on my road to recovery and gave me advice not only related to my injury, but also how to increase my weights when lifting as I had been plateauing. Truly an outstanding physiotherapist and went above and beyond his duties.
Despite living in the opposite end of the city, the commute is definitely worth seeking out Foundation Physio. They are the best of the best and I would recommend Foundation Physio to anyone. Karlyn, Chloe, the ladies at front desk, and the whole team really are not only great at what they do, all of them are also super gracious, calm, and helpful. I've had chronic back and neck pains for some time now and I appreciate Karlyn's holistic approach to it and how easy she makes it to better manage it on my own at home.

Shirin was my physio for around 5 months & I can’t quite say enough great things about her! She identified the issue worked through it with me every session; giving me stretches, exercises as well as performing helpful massages which eased the pain. I have definitely seen an improvement in the issue and am now at a point where I feel I will be able to deal with it much better than before, because of all the guidance and improvement through physio over these few months! Also she’s is extremely friendly and makes you feel comfortable instantly!

My experience with Foundation Physiotherapy was excellent. Matt was impressively knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. He helped me completely bounce back from my meniscus tear, I am now back to regular exercise.
I had serious knee pain for a while, but after seeing Victoria for three times and doing the exercises she told me to do, the pain is all gone. She is super nice too! I'll definitely come back again. Thank you so much Victoria!
When I arrived at the clinic, it was already too late. I couldn't sit, stand or walk for more than a couple of seconds. I was in excrutiating pain and crying on the floor on daily basis. The GP said it's probably just tight or inflammed muscles. Kaitlin Turner and Matthew Laing were both my therapists and they right away figured that it's most likely a disc herniation. I felt better after the first session already with Kaitlin and continued feeling better and better as time progressed. MRI revealed a large L5-S1 disc herniation with nerve impingement. Again GP said no surgery required, Kaitlin and Matt both agreed surgery is a must, guess who was right. With numbness and muscle weakness throughout my left leg later on, I ended up having emergency surgery. Now I am after the surgery and still being treated by both of them for re-habilitation. They are excellent! They both know their stuff inside out and work in harmony. I am pain free now and feel better and better every day! They are gentle with you and very considerate to your situation, always asking if it hurts and where, and explaining what they are doing. They reasses you before every session to see where you at and take it from there. Office staff is amazing! Always polite, smiling, and most importantly accomodating! Thank you all for the great treatment!

Excellent physiotherapists. Understanding of the intricacies of a clients situation. Provide positive and helpful feedback. I found that they are easy to contact and reach. Well written document is always sent to you almost immediately following the appointment. All future exercises from each appointment are built onto the same document making it easy to follow. Well located close to Union station. Easy to get to this location. Flexible hours and schedules. Accommodating for those who work full time and can't attend between 9-5pm. You can manage to attend an appointment not take time time off work. Overall recommend this clinic. Definitely 5 star rating.

I booked an assessment at Foundation Physiotherapy for knee and foot pain that was progressively getting worse. I only wish I had booked the appointment sooner. I had discomfort/pain for several months that made it difficult to get through a full twelve hour shift. Shirin diagnosed and treated me and I’m extremely happy with the results. She was very encouraging, knowledgeable and professional. The facilities are clean and comfortable. I cannot recommend the services of both Shirin and Foundation enough- I no longer have pain at work or while working out. Thanks again-

I went to Foundation Physiotherapy for rehab from a broken wrist. Not only was Alexandra able to help with a complete recovery, she also cured a pre-existing issue. I had thought my only option left for frozen shoulder was a cortisone shot but Alexandra was able to cure this and for the first time in years I was pain free. I really appreciate the time coming here around October 2019 getting advice and support from the staff. They have a great source of energy and very helpful to try and get me over this hurdle. I still do physiotherapy with them now even when I had the online virtual chat from home due to Covid-19 the advice was still fantastic. I would highly recommend them they will guide you and be a great source of inspiration to you.
These guys are awesome, I just damaged my knee during the rock climbing. Victoria was very professional and really interested in helping me to recover. Also she recommended very simple exercises that helped a lot. Two weeks later I've fully recovered. Excellent service!
Shirin is by the best therapist and also a great person. She 100% understood my problem, my situation and accordingly advised about the treatment. She further referred me for pelvic floor physiotherapy with Katja who is equally amazing. Also this clearly shows that they are not money greedy. When my insurance coverage was over capacity they suggested other treatments that I could do until my insurance rolls over. I’m still a patient with foundation physio as my issue is on going for occupational reasons. (Not because of them) Couldn’t have asked for more in terms of services specially during COVID.
