My (then) 4 month old was diagnosed with torticollis (flat head) at the back and towards one side of his head, meaning he favoured one side and that side was stronger, and we were referred to Neuro Physio. I got a call the day of the referral and I had my first appointment 2 days after that. Kendra, the Administrative Assistant, was welcoming, thoughtful and kind through all interactions before our appointment and made me feel welcome and safe bringing my son there during the pandemic. Mikella, the Physiotherapist was absolutely incredible! She calmed my fears about him having to wear a helmet (that's not an option unless torticollis is caught way later in a baby's life) and let me know that this is common and fixable. We worked together once a week for 6 weeks and my kiddo got stronger each week, with his head having rounded out every time we visited. I was given exercises and shown ways to play to enhance his neck strength and to keep him on tummy time because, like most babies his age, he hated tummy time. We were discharged this week and now my kiddo is rolling around on the ground, his neck is strong on both sides and the back of his head has rounded out nicely. All of this while ensuring I was in the know, that we were safe and protected from covid, and that I was leaving each week confident that I had the tools to ensure a speedy recovery. There aren't many other physiotherapists that deal specifically with babies (if any actually), but even if there were, I would still recommend Mikella and the team at Neuro Physio. Thanks again guys! Felix misses you already!
