You must go here! Couple of years ago I had torn my acl and meniscus, after the surgery I was always in pain, I was in my late twenties thinking that I would be living with this pain for the rest of my life. Other physiotherapist would just tell me I need to grow my muscle back and that the pain will go away, but it wasn’t until a friend of mine recommended me to go to here and to see Sherif, boy what a difference working with Sherif made. He is super friendly- as well as the rest of the staff, he is also caring and you can feel that he really does care what he does! I’ve been going to Physiocan and seeing Sherif for about half a year and the progress we have made is amazing! I highly suggest this establishment!

I have been a client at Physiocan for four+ years now. It’s the only place I will ever go for physio now!! And I’ve been to other physio places before as well as in Bowmanville. The staff here are amazing but having Sherif for treatments is why I always go back. He is the best physiotherapist I’ve ever had and always fixes all issues when I’m in, and is a miracle worker at decreasing chronic pain from sciatic and an old whiplash injury. I cannot say enough about PhysioCAN. Caring, professional and knowledgeable, Sherif and his team are miracle workers. They use hands on treatment/therapy, ultra modern equipment and take the time to educate. The are attune to my needs, promoting a fast recovery every time. They provide immediate appointments for emergencies and the wait time is minimal. They have helped me with chronic back pain, several impromptu injuries and aches and pains from living an active life. This is not an "apply heat and stretch" kind of clinic. It is an active, result driven practice. Their massage therapists are also all really good. I tried them all and they each have their own technique and results. Friendly staff, always available for questions and concerns... THEY REALLY CARE.

Sherif and his team are incredible! I had a severe lower back strain and could barely bend at all. After 6 sessions with Sherif, I gained full mobility back and was able to start working out again. I hurt my shoulder quite awhile back and was under the care of a different Physiotherapy clinic for a number of months. I wasn't seeing much improvement and decided to find a place closer to home. The clinic is amazing. I have struggled for almost 2 years with a terrible shoulder injury that led me down a very frustrating path using every treatment imaginable, with no real results. I was booked for surgery to repair the joint in early 2022, then I found Shereef and his team. He cares so much about his patients, like nowhere else I have been. Seems to treat everyone's injury as a personal goal for him to fix. I feel great, definitely not getting surgery and from someone who has been all over the GTA for treatment, I would recommend this clinic in a heartbeat. My shoulders and back have been atrocious for years, to the point wherein something as simple as bowling, or throwing a ball around, would mean I could not move it the next day. I have been seeing Sherif for maybe a few months, and already the progress is immense. I recently went hiking with far too much weight on my back, but to my surprise, the next day, I not only could move, but I felt amazing. I have nothing but the best things to say about Physio Can and Sherif. The morning of Feb. 14, 2015, I injured my calf muscle at a bootcamp and painfully made my way to Physio Can with fingers crossed that they would be open. As luck would have it, the doors were open and Sherif was there treating one of his clients. He took me in right away and started to treat me ASAP recognizing the amount of pain that I was in. 3 solid hours and many different types of treatments later I was able to bear weight on my calf and make my way home. Sherif, thank you so very much for taking such good care of my injury and being so kind, caring and taking the time to reassure me as I was in quite an emotional state. Highly recommend Physio Can.

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia & chronic pain and have been suffering for almost 2 years. My good friend advised me to see Sharif for treatments. I've only been recently coming here but so far the staff is warm and welcoming, always saying hello or asking how you are. My appointment was with Sharif (the owner) and he is absolutely wonderful. He is very kind, warm, empathic, humorous, listens and always made sure I was comfortable. I arrived emotional and feeling a lot of anxiety but he made sure I was at ease and my concerns looked after. I am feeling very hopeful and have a lot of confidence in him getting me back to my old self. He is very well trained/experienced in many treatments and has been doing this since forever lol! I’ve been coming here since mid February of 2019 (it’s now May 2019). I had issues where I couldn’t walk, couldn’t sit up-right, couldn’t drive, couldn’t function in general. And having two small children, it’s been especially hard. My first interaction with Sherif was interesting to say the least. However, he did make a promise that I would walk out of there that day. He delivered on his promise. Both my husband and I were gobsmacked! My next appointment was similar, except this time I didn’t doubt the magic that Sherif was able to perform. Now unfortunately for me, I do get hurt easily, so I’ve had a couple of set-backs. This being said, Sherif and Ryan patiently dealt with them all. It’s amazing to go there with something that happened acutely, and for them to take you right in for treatment. We are now back on track to treating the original symptoms/condition. The staff of PhysioCan are amazing, are very accommodating, and have an amazing dynamic in working together. The atmosphere is calming and relaxing, and I’m so happy to have found you all. Thank you so much for the help and support these past few months Wendy, Ryan, and Sherif!! I know my case has been an interesting one. Your patience in this whole experience speaks volumes for how much you all value your clients/patients, and how much you truly want to see us all be pain-free.

I honestly don't know what I would do without Mark. Between my career, and active lifestyle I've had his help treating hamstring strains, knee injuries, tennis elbow and tenosynovitis in my wrist. The biggest impact Mark has had has been treating my tension headaches. Previously these required at least 48 hours of muscle relaxants, pain relief and rest. They could be debilitating at times and working through the pain and occasional nausea was rough. Mark's skill at treating these is still almost unbelievable. In one session, he is able to completely relieve these headaches. I no longer reach for any medication, I just reach for my phone to call PhysioCan. My greatest regret has been not finding Mark sooner. I cannot recommend Mark and the team at PhysioCan enough.

This clinic is AMAZING! During COVID I tore my calf muscle which required manual treatment. This was the only local place taking emergency patient appointments. Sherif and his team were incredible. They had all the safety precautions in place and went above and beyond in treating me. I saw them for about 8 weeks, not only did their treatments work and help me heal but I always felt like I was getting 5 star treatment and care. This is an amazing place. Everyone is friendly and professional. Mark Wahba is a fantastic physio therapist. I went from a 10 plus pain level to a 1. And I have flexibility back in my arm. He knows his stuff!! Now I also have Charlene Ho who is a massage therapist she does a great job!! Another 5 Star!! Physio Can knows how to find outstanding professionals to take care of their clients. So another update....I don't need surgery yippie!! Thanks to Mark and all of his work with me I am doing so much better....I have little to no pain and I have flexibility in my shoulder....Mark is very knowledgeable and uses many techniques to get positive results......still a little way to go but I would not have done so well if it were not for Mark and his magic!!???? Just wanted to update my review..... would give 10 stars if I could. Mark has been the best I am now about a 2 pain where I was a 10+ pain and working towards better flexibility. I knew it would be a long process. Mark has helped me so immensely. Shout out to Noha for being a great assistant too!!!! Absolutely so impressed with this place! Everyone is friendly and professional. The place is clean; and has up to date technology. Mark is my therapist he is super nice and very knowledgeable. I have been almost two years in pain with my shoulder - after two treatments I feel sooooo much better. Highly recommend this facility.

Sherif is an amazing physiotherapist. He's also the owner of the clinic. To him, his patients come first. He's kind, empathetic and most importantly knows physiology and how to treat each patient for their individual problem. He really does take the time and genuinely cares. You never feel like just a number. I was referred by a good friend of mine to go see him. I've been living with constant chronic pain from an autoimmune disease and a bad accident that resulted in multiple injuries down the left side of my body. Some days the pain is excruciating. Sherif has been taking the time every visit (been about 4 treatments so far) to work on the pain and help me get some relief. He's always compassionate and caring and is determined to help ease the pain. If you need to see a physiotherapist, don't hesitate to see him. You won't be disappointed! All the staff there are also on the ball and you never have to wait more than a few minutes to see him. I've seen a few physiotherapists through the years but hands down, he's the best! I have to share my experience because it has just changed my life. I have been seeing Sharif for about 3 months now. I am 29 years old and had to have a hip replacement due to a condition I had as a child. I was 1 month post op and beginning treatment in the hospital when COVID-19 hit and the hospitals physiotherapy closed down. I was so upset and desperate to find help as I am so young and did not want to put therapy on the back burner due to the virus. I called Physiocan and Sharif personally called me back and told me he would do whatever he could to help me. This man on his OWN time drove to my house and met me outside and did a quick assessment of what was going on to decide where to go further. He then saw me a few times a week as an emergency patient after. He was doing things with me that the hospital did not do. He helped break up my scar tissue, did muscle stim and acupuncture on me. Let me tell you I am forever grateful that Sharif has come into my life, he has been such a light to my life through this hard time and when I felt my weakest and needed the help he dropped everything to make sure I got the proper care I needed through rehab. He is so dedicated to his practice and I can see that with every patient he sees he takes the time and truly cares about each individuals needs. My mom and my aunt have also now been seeing Sharif and thank me everyday for introducing me to him. If i could give PhysioCan 10 stars for everything they have done for me I would. Hands down the ONLY physio place I will go to from now forward. If you live in the Bowmanville area, please please don't hesitate to give Sharif a call.

I want to thank Sharif first of all for being a life saver for our oldest daughter Stephanie who had a full hip Replacement at 29 years old. Myself, my husband and my daughter all see Mark. He diagnosed my condition and my daughter's, the MRI confirmed the diagnoses. He has helped us all tremendously. Before I started with Sherif at physiocan I was always tense, my muscles were extremely tight and I was in near constant pain. I could barely move. After just one session I had a dramatic increase in my mobility and range of motion and a significant decrease in pain. After the second session I felt comfortable in my body in a way that i hadn't felt in a long time. I go to physiotherapy at Physiocan once a week and it has made a huge difference in my life. Sherif is a wonderful therapist. He is incredibly knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. Sherif Shafey is the "Master". His knowledge and experience are evident from his ability to treat all forms of injuries with the numerous techniques he uses, most of which are not available in this area. Furthermore, his caring and attentive staff are a benefit to his clinic. The facility is clean, orderly and well maintained as one would expect. I have yet to wait for my scheduled appointment, regularly being taken to the treatment areas more than 10 minutes prior to my appointment. It is a busy clinic, but that is obviously a testament to the staff's abilities and why Sherif's client base continues to grow exponentially. I am treated with care and attention and all time with the ultimate goal of being 100 % without milking my benefits as some physiotherapists have done in the past. I'm not sure how some of these techniques work, but they do. I came here a month after a shoulder operation (SLAP tear) and saw results after the first visit. I'm still recovering and still have some aches, but I have mobility today I haven't had in over 7 years! If you are looking for a spa like atmosphere and fancy amenities, this isn't the place. You want your body fixed then come here. Highly recommend.

After a major accident I was unable to use my right hand,shoulder or stand straight, insurance physio did nothing, I passed by one day and drop in to physiocan and met shareef, He said I will get you back into shape,well he did exactly as he said, After walking hump back for over a year he straightened it out After I couldn't brush my teeth with my right hand for over a year he had me reaching for the ceiling, He is a genuine individual he is there to help you, not like other physio who get you in and out to collect the money, and he does not give you a whole heap of useless junk , he truly want to fix your issues and help. First Google review ever and it has to be for Sherif Shafey and his staff at Bowmanville Physiocan. They are amazing! I can't believe the knowledge and expertise that Sherif has when it comes to injuries and various types of treatments. I have been to a few places in the past where they set you in a room with a Tens machine for 30 minutes and charge you money and call it treatment. Sherif takes the time to diagnose the problem and treat it accordingly with acupuncture, Graston etc and you feel almost immediate relief and improved mobility right away ( not weeks of a Tens machine or heat packs ). If you are not seeing results where you are I would strong urge you to speak to Sherif.

I originally went Phyio-Can for a sore left shoulder and heal. It was their suggestion I get a x-ray for both shoulder and heal. My previous Dr suggested I was getting older and probably had arthritis. X-rays revealed a torn rotator-cuff and heal spur. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which left me virtually an invalid. I couldn't get out of bed without difficulty, getting dressed was very challenging and a cup or a plate were too heavy for me to lift. I could not raise my arms above my shoulders and I had pain in all my major muscle groups. If you wait longer than 10 minutes the sign states advise receptionist ( you are always called in for treatment well in advance) My experience, there is no minimum treatment time limit, you are in treatment for whatever time it takes. Sherif the owner and licensed physiotherapist may or may not be your practitioner, if not he appears front and centre to ascertain how you are progressing. A young passionate group of practitioners.
