Sportmed Plus has been my go to physiotherapy center over the past few years. Previously I have had a lot of issues with knee injuries and concussion symptoms from ski racing. I have met with Doug Linklater many times and can not say enough positive things about Sportmed's physiotherapy and physician services.

Just finishing up a cardio physio and occupational therapy work hardening program with Nico and Matt. After suffering a heart attack this has been a complete life changer as I can confidently start living again! I gave 5 stars and would have happily gave more if they were available! Sandra was kind and supportive in arranging my many appointments. Would highly recommend.

Before I start, I chose this clinic because I've seen Dr. Lemenchick before and he's awesome so you can imagine my disappointment with what I've experienced. I had the worst physio experience here! I came in early, checked in with the rude receptionist lady who was very short, no smile, and slow (she only perked up when a french speaking patient came in) and was told my physiotherapist would get me soon. I was among 5 others in the waiting area and one by one they all got called in. I sat waiting, well past 20 minutes into my appt time. The receptionist didn't even bother to tell me what was going on, so I had to approach her for info. It was like I was bothering her asking for her to do her job? Anyway, my physio was running late and I was like ok, no worries. I understand people run late sometimes. I fully expected to STILL have my FULL one hour initial appt. Finally I got called in, after approx 45 min waiting. I had a heavier set physio lady, she seemed quite nice at first. She took me to an open floor plan exercise room. There is no confidentiality in this area as everyone can see you. That's fine but also everyone can hear what's being said. After a few movements, she diagnosed my issue without physically examining me (like all the other physio therapist have) and THEN exclaimed loudly that I will end up with a permanent disfigurement!! I was pretty surprised because she was saying it so matter of a fact. I'm young and healthy and here she was telling me I'd be disfigured in a few years even if I did all my exercises. Being pretty health conscious this really frightened me. I laughed it off but kept thinking about how uncomfortable I felt and how unprofessional the whole experience was. Btw this "disfigurement" was totally disproved by my current physio who is amazing. She had me do exercises in which she totally left me alone for a good 20 minutes. I was already done by then and just sitting around. She came back and said she was gonna print the exercises and left again. During this time she was also waving and yelling across the room to other patients she recognized. She even stopped on her way to talk to one of them. Eventually she came back, gave me the print outs and I was free to go. I looked at the clock and realized the whole appt was about 35 min when I booked an hour with her. I made another appt and went home. Checked my insurance a week later and they charged me a full one hour appt. Not to mention, the receptionist calls me 2 days before my next appt to reschedule but left no details in her vm. I never called them back. If you have no choice since this is prob the OHIP covered rehab clinic in hospital, then hopefully you get a better therapist. If you have insurance or pay out of pocket, avoid this place. Maybe the others are better but I didn't stick around to find out. I got ripped off big time!
