MMTR Physiotherapy saved my life!! I lived with a constant migraine for 2 and a half years straight before I went to MMTR! They taught me lots of physical therapy and after doing it faithfully, I haven't had a migraine in over 2 years now! So grateful for them.

OK clinic and staff. Overpriced for the type of physio as the clinic does not offer much in the way of hands on therapy. The machine that they rave about feels like a glorified TENS device. It might help some, but not all.

I would not recommend this clinic to someone who is looking for the root problem rather than a one shoe fits all approach that they offer. I was given stretches that helped with stiffness in my neck, but not anything to do with what was actually wrong with me. When I was there doing my stretches, I noticed everyone else going through the same package and the only catering done to people was slightly different stretches, that probably didn't have much benefit to them getting better. This was a complete waste of time and money and I do not recommend this clinic to anyone. The issue that I had was tracking with my eyes, where I had to retrain my eyes. After only a couple days of sticking to the exercises given, I started to improve my vision/tracking. I only tried this clinic as I couldn't get into the SHIFT concussion clinic sooner and wanted to get better as quick as possible. After only a 20 min evaluation, they were able to find what was wrong with me.

Met Terry Moore in May of 1995, 6 weeks before my wedding and I could not pick up a case of beer. Through his Myo theraphy, his expertise and his training on specific stretches to assist my issues is was successful in regaining my life. Since then I have sent more than 100 clients his way and all with their own stories of success. I would rate his service a 5/5

I am very grateful to the team at MMTR for the service they provide and help they've given me on my road to recovery post-concussion. I had been dealing with post-concussion symptoms for over a year before going to MMTR and had tried other physio and massage options with only minor improvement. After the 2 weeks of daily visits, I had a noticeable improvement (fewer headaches, less nausea, less fogginess). I really appreciated feeling like I was back in control of my health - if I started to have a headache or fogginess, I could turn to the stretches they taught me to help alleviate these symptoms. I still go to the clinic as needed to keep my muscles happy and keep any symptoms caused by ongoing neck tightness at bay (my work and posture make this a chronic issue for me, even pre-concussion). I have happily recommended MMTR to a few people already and will continue to do so. Thanks!

Terry Moore is excellent. He and his staff take the time to treat and help everyone as much as they can. Their unique system works very well. I could not recommend them more for people with brain injuries, TBIs, ect. Outstanding business.

Physiotherapy with Terry Moore and his fine staff have been a godsend in my son's return to vibrant health. He had missed most of 6th and 7th grade following what had initially appeared to be mild head injury and whiplash. As a nurse practitioner in Tucson, AZ I have access to top-notch medical specialists and holistic healers, but their treatment made little difference for my son's vertigo, headaches, fatigue, confusion, and anxiety. We will forever be thankful to the caring and effective treatment of MMTR.

Firstly, I am a trainer under the College of Exercise Science and Physiology, a third year Kinesiology student and a Chiropractic assistant. I had a friend with me during my appointment who is an RMT with her BKin. My MD referred me to this clinic for an assessment of issues I've been having since I received my 5th concussion 3 years ago. While I am sure that the treatment they provide at this clinic would help any individual whose concussion symptoms are fresh and largely musculoskeletal, it is an expensive way to go about it. When your injuries are newer, you will find relief from a variety of methods including massage, chiro, or from a physiotherapist who does not charge you $150 per treatment. This clinic justifies their cost with their Myoworx machine, however it is not drastically different from IFC treatment you would receive in any chiro or physio office as long as the practitioner keeps the settings low (avoiding muscle contraction). For me specifically I feel this $300 appointment was a waste of time and money. There was no neurological/cognitive examination - I have received partial neuro testing from a doctor I have been seeing and we were expecting I would go to this appointment to receive a more in depth neuoro exam from a neuroscientist. The man who did my assessment was a phsyiotherapist and administered an exam that I could administer to any of my clients as a personal trainer. To be clear, I explained my situation when I called for the appointment. Not only did this exam only tell me things I already know (like that my range of motion is decreased on my right side, or that I have tight muscles) the assessment seemed to be designed to create problems that I do not have. The physiotherapist asked very leading questions, rather than open ended questions and so it feels like the exam is designed to lead you to very specific conclusions, which of course is followed by a recommendation to come in and use the Myoworx machine 5 days a week (at $150 per treatment....sure!). I am sure everybody gets the same speech at the end of their assessment which states that there is no way symptoms are coming from a low level brain injury; rather, you are caught in a cycle of tight scalenes and tight traps (neck muscles) and that tightness is restricting blood flow to the brain. They tell you that the lack of blood flow is the cause of all your problems. This theory is not supported by the other doctors I am working with - they are worried that this is the information people are being given. As I have had time to think about what I experienced at this clinic, and to discuss it with my friend who accompanied me and my doctors, I have become more upset about the treatment I received. I did not need to have my core strength tested, I did not need to have my neck strength tested and I did not need to have my range of motion tested. I needed to have my eyes examined. I needed memory testing done... I needed an actual neurological exam. This did not even come close. Plus, I have been doing the stretches and the exercises they give you in this clinic for 3 years, along with soft tissue and chiropractic treatment. If the problem actually was what they said, I would have healed a long time ago. I am positive patients can find at least comparable, if not better, treatment at a more affordable rate elsewhere.

I'm writing this on behalf of my mom. She says "Everyone was very kind and really helped relieve her pain while she was going, they also helped her greatly in regaining some mobility after her accident"

This experience was life changing for my daughter. My daughter suffered from post concussion syndrome for 6 years. And now it’s like her body woke up!! Dr. Terry Moore and his staff were wonderful and paid attention to detail for her. We were up there for the 2 week session, which I think is extremely important. She had to stretch out her back and neck muscles, then slowly build up her endurance . They tough her how to handle, the severe migraines, barometric pressure while living at a high altitude. She still has a lot of work ahead of her, with her exercises. Went up to Guelph, to help with headaches and she came back with very little headaches every Once in a while, range of motion has increased dramatically, her eye sight is better, anxiety gone, depression gone, and medication free!! ???? it has been a long road and so incredibly grateful to Dr Moore for helping her see that she doesn’t have to live that way. She could change it for a better way of life! My question is, WHY, why the healthcare industry in the USA and others not following this protocol? We could be helping thousands upon thousands of people out there!

I'm so pleased with how much progress my daughters have made here. My youngest is doing so much better in school and my eldest is regaining nerve function. Terry is brilliant, caring and dedicated. All the staff is friendly, well educated and organized. We travel over an hour to go here and it's worth it!

Very simply, Terry (with his phenomenal knowledge of anatomy and muscle function) and his wonderfully skilled and supportive staff gave me my life back. I was suffering with trigeminal neuralgia in all three branches on both sides of my face. Over 10 years, I had been on every drug for nerve pain and they stopped working. I was doing acupuncture and physiotherapy weekly but the positive effects did not last. My neurologist advised me to try alternative therapies. I called Terry and he told me (in contrast to all of the MDs) that Trigeminal Neuralgia was "easy to treat". After several months of twice weekly visits, I came off the meds--that was over 10 years ago. Of course symptoms still threaten to return but MMTR teaches patients how to take control and minimize their symptoms--you must be willing to take an active role by doing the exercises long-term if you have chronic injuries, so it is not a quick fix or a walk in the park. Just being in the waiting room and gym at MMTR is inspiring--watching so many people with extremely debilitating symptoms gradually get better. Keep up the great work MMTR--you are changing lives!

I suffered with post-concussion symptoms and a cervical spine injury for almost two years. My symptoms were so bad that I could neither take care of myself nor my family. I am from Florida, and I'd visited numerous neurologists, brain surgeons, spine surgeons, and specialists at the Mayo Clinic, and no one could help me. They basically told me that I would have to deal with it for the rest of my life. Through my desperation, I found MMTR in Guelph. From the moment I entered MMTR, I received nothing less than 100% compassion, empathy, and understanding from Terry Moore and his team. Terry Moore is the most knowledgable man I have ever met. One month after visiting MMTR, I am now 95% symptom free. I can enjoy life again. The work that they are doing at MMTR is truly groundbreaking. I hope it can be brought to the states. I would highly recommend MMTR to anyone dealing with post-concussion symptoms, cervical spine injuries, and/or any other neurological problems.

My daughter suffered from post-concussion syndrome since 2012, and shortly after she has developed POTS. We have been to many doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapists since she was injured. We visited Dr. Moore without high expectations because of our past experiences from many medical professionals, but he and his approach were completely different from others. Dr. Moore taught my daughter how to fix her issues by herself through various exercises. As a result, for the first time, she has the confidence to ease her conditions without relying on others. She has also stopped taking medications completely. We still have to watch her condition carefully, but we are so thankful for Dr. Moore and his wonderful staff.

MMTR Review In 2006 I fell down a 30 foot escalator while working at a conference, incurring multiple blows to my left hip and back. Nothing showed up on X-Rays or ultrasound exams. I seemed to heal fairly well from that fall, but several years later I fell again on the same side while gardening. I had more tests, and hip replacement was ruled out. The doctors said, “We do not do back replacements. You have to live with the one you’ve got.” In 2016 a friend referred me to MMTR where she had success treating her lower back problem. My doctor endorsed the treatment. I booked a consultation appointment with Terry Moore, PhD, who spent almost an hour with me intently listening to my head-to-toe symptoms, then providing an initial conclusion. He said that the first fall was a “full body fall”. That could help explain the nerve sensations in legs and feet and my headaches in one temple and the top of my head. But he thought that it was the second fall that caused the severity of my lower back pain in the L4/L5 region. Therapy would improve my posture and possibly relieve pain. Finally someone was listening! I entered three months of intensive physiotherapy that involved twice daily exercises in 25-30 different positions. Some were easy, some hard, and some initially impossible for me to do. In three months I went from a standing time limit of 10 minutes and a walking limit of about two blocks without severe pain, to being able to join my husband on a 10 day chartered tour of London, England. With some discomfort along the way, it was still achievable. MMTR definitely put me on the right path to recovery. Since leaving therapy I have continued to do many of the exercises once a day, including the Bridge yoga pose that was initially impossible. I have eliminated the toe touching ones. Leaning forward is my key pain trigger. I have added one exercise that further improved my mobility, the modified “curl-up” as described in Back Mechanic by Dr. Stuart McGill, PhD. I have now recovered about 75% mobility, and am able to enjoy regular shopping excursions to large Malls, or run errands to five different places without pain. I can stand indefinitely, being mindful to shift weight occasionally. While gardening, I avoid leaning forward, focussing on the tasks that can be done kneeling or standing upright. I don’t expect to go on another chartered walking trip, but self-directed travel at my own pace, hopping on and off subways and taxis, is definitely in the plans. What is my age? I am in my 60's. I am lean and otherwise very healthy. My advice? Be persistent, and listen to your body. With expert guidance, it is telling you how to move. Thank you Terry Moore and your team of specialists. Terry Moore and his team have developed a one of a kind Concussion Treatment Policy! I had undergone PT elsewhere immediately after my concussion and followed the "Back to Sports" concussion protocol for 6 months with few results and still suffering from PCS. I was at the point that brain rest was NOT helping; I was in constant pain, head pressure, headaches of varying degrees, unable to manage day to day activities, photosensitive, and many diverse emotional symptoms etc. Being a nurse, for the first time I was in big need of someone to take care of me. The staff at MMTR do such thorough assessments and interventions and took great care of me! The empathy and genuine compassion for their work reassured me for many months. I contribute my FULL recovery to them! I would walk in to the clinic with multiple symptoms 8/10 pain on a scale and I would walk out feeling 1-2/10 or NO symptoms! The teaching and insight I learned about PCS and how to manage was invaluable. Not to mention directly treating the PCS to the point that I am back to pre-accident condition now.

Truly life changing service that not only treats but teaches you the skills required to stay on top of symptoms when away from the clinic.

I suffered from post concussion syndrome for 2 years and had nagging knee pain from an acl surgery 5 years ago. I saw many doctors and therapists with the Cleveland Clinic, I saw Dr. Leddy in Buffalo, and I've seen a chiropractor. None of them come close to how helpful Terry is! He not only dramatically helped my post concussion syndrome, but he also essentially eliminated my knee pain. I am nearing the end of my program with him and expect to be symptom free, have no knee pain, and be able to run as many miles as I want. Words cannot explain how awesome Terry and his program are. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Keep in mind that his program is physical therapy so you have to stick to the program using the correct technique for it to work. It also takes time. This is not a quick fix. Number of injuries, fitness level, age, how much time you can dedicate, etc. can all affect the length of time you need to do physical therapy. I am 24 years old and have had a broken collar bone, acl surgery, 5 concussions, and countless rolled ankles. I have been doing therapy with Terry's program for a year and a half, and I expect to be done with therapy around the 2 year mark. So it can be a long hull. But if you do stick to it, the results are absolutely amazing. I am very happy with amount of time I put in and the results I got out. I was also finishing up college, while I was doing Terry's program, which made my therapy longer. I've only had to make 3 trips up to Geulph with a total of 18 appointments. He really wants you to be able to control your symptoms on your own. That way you do not have to keep paying money to see him. And you can treat yourself if you do become injured again. I've never met a healthcare provider that cares so much about his/her patients as Terry.

Terry Moore and his team at MMTR are Amazing. I went there having had Post Concussion Syndrome for 1 1/2 years. All of my symptoms have decreased immensely and each day I get better and better. This treatment takes a lot of effort because it is solving the problems with your muscles not just numbing the pain. If you want to get better and get rid of any chronic pain or pain in general this is the place. Terry Moore's guidance and knowledge will make you pain free. Anyone who says otherwise isn't following the treatment plan. Thanks MMTR for giving me my life back!

I have been a patient of Terry Moore's physio. clinic on and off for the last three years. I have always found the staff to be most professional, pleasant and helpful. I owe my current state of good health to their ministrations and would recommend them to anyone needing their type of care.

MMTR and Terry Moore have been instrumental in my multi-year recovery from concussions. As a long-time patient, I really appreciate the holistic nature that the team utilizes to help its patients. Their comprehensive and humanistic approach are unique, enabling them to help people with a wide variety of complex symptoms. I encourage anyone suffering from any concussion symptoms or a neck-based injury to go see Dr. Moore and his team.

Jennie Miller

I struggled for years with concussion symptoms, went to many doctors, and Terry was the only one who could help me. He has truly been life changing for me. I had no idea all my symptoms were coming from my neck and back!! The best part about his approach is that he empowers you with the tools and knowledge to bring down symptoms on your own. I have never met a practitioner with such a heart to help people-- Terry is truly one of a kind. And the rest of the staff is lovely as well! Could not recommend more, especially if you had a concussion or neck/back injury and are dealing with lingering symptoms. You are sure to feel relief from his method, which is safe, non-invasive, and actually addresses the root cause of your problem! Even if you have not had an injury, Terry helps many different conditions and anyone can benefit from knowing how to bring down a headache without taking Tylenol or how tension in specific muscles can cause symptoms.

When i first arrived at mmrt physiotherapy i told the staff that they could not help me as i had been to other physiotherapy places prior. Well im so impressed with the staff and the results. They tòok my challenge and fixed me to where i can enjoy going for a walk again. Best of the best.

Loved my experience at MMTR! I ended up here after 2 years of dealing with my Post Concussion symptoms. This was the first and only place to help me eliminate my symptoms! Thanks!!!!

Mandy H

A word of caution: this is not the miracle treatment they make it out to be. Works for some, yes, but not all. I went in with post-concussion syndrome stuck faithfully to the (expensive) treatments for 3 months with little improvements. Don't get your hopes up.

Katia Kiefaber

I had such a wonderful experience here. I got a concussion 2.5 years ago and have been struggling with post concussive headaches, pain, and tightness since. I live in the US but was so glad I made the trek to Canada for the 2 week program. It made a huge difference in my symptoms and helped lessen a lot of my pain. Also Terry is AMAZING. Such a compassionate guy and truly understands the concussed person’s experience because he has gone through it himself. I’ve come to dread doctor’s appointments because I’ve found that many doctors don’t know nearly enough about concussions or have compassion for my situation and Terry is the exact opposite. He was able to answer all of my questions, address things I didn’t even realize were going on, and treat me with care and generosity when I’d cry or feel emotional. I’d highly recommend this program for anyone with a TBI or other back/neck or general health problem!

MMTR Health provides top notch physiotherapy service. I've never experienced another place whose professional team spends the time and care that MMTR Health does. On top of all of that, the results I got are great!

Marné Gallant

I would recommend anyone dealing with Post Concussion Syndrome take a trip to MMTR physiotherapy. They have an in depth understanding of the issues and know how to get to the root of symptoms. Dr. Moore is an incredible doctor and he has a wonderful team.
