It was a Motor Vehicle Accident that brought me to their door. They only had one clinic then, but I am not surprised at all, that they now have 3 locations. For 6 months I saw Penny, she was amazing! A few times, when she was booked, I saw others who were equally great, with no break in my treatments (a really good team!). I even did some massage. It has been many, many years since then and I was very grateful for the relief from pain. But now I can feel age catching up with me and it made me think of them again. Maybe I should drop in for a tune up, I bet they are good at that too!

Shelbourne Physiotherapy-Cook Street Clinic is best service in our town. Really amazing services.

First off, Jenna was nice, and knowledgeable, although she was a bit rushed and it felt like I was a number at times. That being said, she helped me recover from my back strain. Thank you, Jenna, truly. My poor review is based on the interaction I had with someone at the office who had literally yelled at me over the phone. I had cancelled an appointment with Jenna who had assumed that I would be back the next week. I told her I was traveling for Xmas and would not make it. I had no idea the cancellation hadn't gone through. This cancellation was done one full week in advance. Then, about a month later I noticed my scheduled appointment wasn't at a time I thought I booked it at. Whether that was my mistake, or the admin's error I'm not sure. So that cancellation was given 6 hours ahead of time. A few hours after cancellation, I received a phone call from someone at Shelbourne physio therapy who actually yelled at me. He told me to take my business elsewhere. I was told what a burden I was for cancelling the appointments. Any time I would speak up and try to explain why the cancellations occurred, it was met with deaf ears and I was immediately talked (yelled) over. It wasn't simply unprofessional, it was the most childish and outlandish experience I've ever had with someone over the phone in my adult life.

Chris is a fantastic Pilates instructor. His approach is incredibly motivational, engaging and friendly. He has an uncanny ability to describe complicated movements that help to visualize the desired movements. I feel so fortunate to have been introduced to him!

I did a lot of research about the condition "plantar fasciitis" and the myriad of clinics that touted success in the treatment of these painful symptoms. It had gone so long, that the problem had become chronic, and the most successful outcomes for chronic conditions is with radial shockwave modality treatment. This Hillside location is one of the few physiotherapy clinics offering the radial shockwave treatment. Needless to say, it was very effective. My pain went from a baseline 8-10/10 during work, to a 3/10 at its worst aggravation. Ignacio and Miriam were the team I worked with and they showed efficiency, and good clinical skills. Highlighted by a good balance of therapeutic exercise, education and physiotherapy modalities to manage the pain. I am happy to have this problem behind me, and would recommend Shelbourne Physiotherapy Clinic to address your aches and pains towards a better quality of life. I am truly impressed...and I am a physiotherapist as well. Thanks team!

I had been referred to Laura Werner after being diagnosed with a pelvic pain disorder, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience. Laura is truly wonderful; she's not only very knowledgeable, but super friendly and a delight to interact with, which made every appointment pleasant. Would definitely recommend her and Shelbourne Physiotherapy to anyone that needs it.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Shelbourne Physiotherapy. The staff welcome you as family and everyone is so friendly and attentive. Phil is wonderful. He answered any and all questions I had about my injuries. Shelbourne definitely makes injuries into a positive experience.

Bekah is fantastic and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her.

I'm not a patient at this clinic, nor would I ever want to be after what I've seen my loved ones go through. I am a witness of this clinic's unethical and dangerous behavior.

Very professional, courteous, friendly, and all highly skilled therapist.

I have been a Shelbourne Physio patient on and off for years. They are very professional and I always leave feeling better. Highly recommended!

Jen at Shelbourne Physio on Cook St was a real help when I tore my left ACL (the second time). It was a year after when I was still doing rehab and not getting results. I couldn't walk up stairs properly or even go on a 10 minute walk - let alone do sports. She performed ART (active release therapy) which was painful but made a huge difference. With her help and orthodics from a podiatrist I am all better.

Jeffrey Reimer

Ruan Le Roux is a great physio! His advice and care has really helped me rehab my shoulder.

I was expecting a much higher level of care as I had experienced at my previous physiotherapist. The woman who assisted me, Catherine, was impersonal and I found it hard to connect with her. I did not feel heard or like she understood my issue. She rushed me through my appointment and then right out the door without properly explaining the exercise designed to help me, handing me a brochure saying read that and I'll show you next time. I left feeling confused, rushed and cheated. EDIT: I'd like to amend my review in that the studio coordinator contacted me after I posted this to discuss my experience and offered to rectify the situation. I appreciate this greatly. I do still feel that an intake appointment might be scheduled for a longer period as it is the start of a new relationship and it is important in that a new patient who is in pain and worried about their health needs to feel heard and understood and not rushed through their treatment. Thank you for following up.

I love this place. Direct billing and open Saturdays. I had a bad experience at RebalanceMD but this clinic is way better. Miriam is a great Physiotherapist and the clinic is new, bright and has parking. I am improving steadily and am going to try their massage therapist soon.

Spencer Reid

10/10 would go to Phil again (ankle issues)

UPDATE: After the original review, the owner called and offered a free session. Penny the physiotherapist was very attentive and carefully explained things. I got two free sessions. The second one included diagnostic ultrasound and needles and she gave me the exersises. ORIGINAL Issue: Unprofessional receptionist: I called to find out what physio treatments they offer besides exersises because the surgeon that operated on my shoulder recommended to try some. The phone person - seemingly the only one there didn't know half of what they offer and which therapist offers which. When i politely asked if i could speak with somebody who does know she said there is nobody and there will not be anybody in the future that knows and I have to book an appointment with their physio therapist if i want more information on it. When i commented that this is unreasonable she hung up on me.

My ongoing osteopathic treatment with Mohsen has been excellent, and my general well-being has improved drastically from not being in pain all the time. I couldn’t recommend it more.

I had heard good things but hadn't been in until today, since I don't live close and already had a set of great care providers. Unfortunately I needed some urgent assistance with a stubborn back problem, and my regular RMT was all booked up. I'd booked an appointment for this morning (Monday) with the only place I'd found on Saturday with an open appointment online, and that place cancelled on me. I was really in sore shape, had just lost my light at the end of the tunnel and started calling all around town to find an opening. It just happened that there was a cancellation, and T'airah not only helped me carefully with my seized-up back, but referred me to a specific physio to help me with my specific problems. It was such a relief to be in good hands when at the mercy of a last-minute scheduling. Thank you to T'airah and the Shelbourne clinic, and I will update after some physio!

This is unbelievable! I just called this place, and based on the conversation I had with the lady on the phone, I realized that this is not the place that I want to rely on. She was unprofessional and rude! She even didn't let me finish my sentences! I was asking whether it was possible to have appointments for later in the evenings, but she interrupted me a few times without letting me finish my my sentence! This wasn't the greatest first impression! Please train your front office staff! Be polite and professional!!!

Ruan is the best physiotherapist for sports injuries. Shockwave worked great for my soccer and rugby injuries.

Upasana Purohit

Very good service quick and fast. The guy was really great and friendly.

Deb Morse

My massage therapist Jennifer was fantastic. The clinic director showed an astonishing lack of humanity when I notified the clinic of a matter that would impact their staff out of my concern for them. I would have to stay that in decades of receiving health services I have never seen callousness of this magnitude. Beware.

Debbie Readman

I was referral for physiotherapy the best technology.

dangerous physio

Avoid going to Shelbourne Physiotherapy. It is dangerous. I had mild pain in my leg and went there for physio. Unfortunately, within a session, an incompetence physiotherapist created life-long injuries for me. As a result of injuries, I had to go on medical leave. I have been to so many doctors, and they could not help. I have to live up with my injuries for the rest of my life. I wish I have never been there.

Victoria Bielert

I see T'airahs for massage. She is amazing and was so helpful. Even gave me stretches to help my progress which I have never had an RMT do before. All around a great experience at Shelbourne. Highly recommend

I’ve had lower back pain for many years on and off. Initial Physiotherapy Treatment with Mohsen helped a lot to relieve it. My neck also was frequently sore over the last couple of years, I’ve been getting a lot of headaches, I would like to say thanks to him, that I am no longer getting headaches and my overall back health has improved dramatically.I’m experiencing with support the excellent team in Shelbourne Physiotherapy.

The manual physio theraphy lasted so short like 5-6 minutes at most, moreover it was too soft. And they put a hot pack for another 7-8minutes. I paid $80. It was definately a waste of money. I felt nothing better after the super short and super soft physio theraphy. I am never going there again.

My visit here was less than acceptable. I found the physiotherapist cranky and unprofesional with little enthusiasm at her job. I was hoping to experience an encouraging promising uplifting atmosphere in which it definately was not. I am looking to destress my life not add to it. A very rude and stuck up establishment. Don't wear any deodorant because the receptionist will cover her face with a scarf while she talks to you from 4 feet away. Pathetic at best. If you want to feel uncomfortable and unimportant this is the place for you.

fake physio

I went to Shelbourne Physiotherapy in Cook St. with a minor leg injury. A physiotherapist manipulated my leg and created life-long injuries for me. After several months, I am still limping with severe pain in my leg. I recommend not to go to Shelbourne physiotherapy. If for any reason, you decide to go there, make sure that you are accompanied by a friend as a witness so that you can prove you were injured. Also, record your conversation. Consider going there with camera glasses (check out the law first). If you are injured by a physio, make sure to submit a complaint letter to the college of physiotherapist of BC (CPTBC). You can find the procedure through CPTBC's website. According to the law, a physiotherapist has obligation to explain clearly and precisely for you, what he is going to do. If he deviates from what he said to you, make sure to mention it in your complaint letter. Without video/voice recording, a physiotherapist can easily lie and deny what he did to you. Let's clean up the city from incompetence and unprofessional physiotherapists.

Jenna helped me to recover from my lumbar disk and sciatica. I wasn't able to walk or stand by myself but now I can walk properly and work part time. she knows exactly how body works. Thank you so much what you have done Jenna!

Physiotherapist Nicole Gill is really detailed & really cares. She is great at exercises but also manual therapy. Helped me a lot in just one visit! I highly recommend Nicole for physiotherapy!

Diana Fabulyak

Alex Thompson is amazing! She is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her job.

Varsenik Gevorkyan

Extraordinary compared to other clinics. I went to another clinic first and was wrongly told I was good to go back to normal physical activities. After going to Shelborne Physio, I was informed properly about my actual condition and got the help I needed from the start. Penny saved my back and allowed me return to my regular activities safely.

This place has gone drastically downhill. I have been going periodically over the years, and every time there is a new set of therapists to choose from. This is suspicious to me. Today, they cancelled my son's appointment 20 minutes before it started after I pulled him out of school for the morning. Then they blamed me for their mixup, and said they sent an email, which they didn't. I am never going to go there again. Addendum: About 20 minutes after I posted my review, the owner called me at home. Rather than apologizing for their mistakes, he rudely accused me of lying and threatened to sue. Since then, he has sent abusive emails to me, called again after I told him not to, and sent harassing emails to my young child. He has even sent a letter to my ex-girlfriend. He must think his behaviour will make me change my review. Right now, I notice that there are only two other reviews about his business, both positive and 4 or 5 years old. That was about the time my friend Peter stopped working there. (Peter was an excellent and knowledgeable therapist.) Why are there no more recent reviews, positive or negative? (I am sure the owner will write some positive reviews soon!)

Rebekah Neubert

I had horrible neck and back pain after a fall. I have seen Penny, Andrew and Jenna for physiotherapy. They were able to resolve my back pain quickly, took the time to listen and were extremely knowledgeable! I highly recommend this clinic!
