I highly recommend Hand Works. I needed to get a thumb brace, on very short notice. Island Hand Therapy was recommended by my GP, but was a two week wait. The person I spoke with there suggested I call Hand Works (kudos to her). Eric penciled me in for late afternoon, same day. He did an awesome job, was super friendly, answered all my questions and reassured me that if the brace needed adjustments, I could come in the next day. The brace is perfect, so no need for adjustments. Thanks so much Eric!

Eric has been my therapist for three years now and has guided me through multiple surgery recoveries. Along with being extremely well educated and knowledgeable (surgical procedures, causes, infections, treatments, wound care, bandaging, and healing) he quickly created a recovery plan and made multiple braces that tailored to my specific injury and recovery goals and knows how to find the balance between when to push and when to nurture your recovery. Eric is a very caring and compassionate therapist overall and has gone above and beyond for me numerous times without question or hesitation which has played a critical part in my recovery. His commitment to his patients is also demonstrated by how well he runs his practice overall, he is always on time, never cancels an appointment and is flexible and accommodating to schedule.

I have been seeing Eric off and on for years now. I sustained a severe hand injury more than 40 years ago and Eric helped me design and create a specialized orthotic when I began to suffer from the effects of wear and tear and from arthritis thirty years later. That orthotic has enabled me to continue living a very active life. Lately, Eric has been helping me with my other hand as continued aging takes its toll. He’s a great hand therapist with a caring demeanour and I recommend him very highly.

Eric takes the time to listen to what I say about the limitations of my thumb after surgery. He's designed an appropriate re-hab plan for my thumb, which we adjust based on the successes I'm having with movement and strength. Thumb re-hab is a marathon not a sprint, and we are making steady gains towards full functionality of my thumb.
