You will be able to see the feddbacks of real people who buy the services and products of Banff Alpine Medical Clinic (Physiotherapist) in Banff (Canada).
Now the business gets a score of 3.7 stars over 5 and this score has been based on 66 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is positive, and it's founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may conclude that the rating is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give opinions when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Physiotherapist belongs to the category of Medical office.
To any female in the area needing a pelvic exam, Dr. Jane Fowke is great. Exams of this nature tend to be incredibly intimate and oftentimes quite uncomfortable. Highly suggest her for her caring, quick and comfortable manner. Best experience I've had yet, and was happy to let her know. Dr. Shigeishi is also worth seeing, especially for matters of mental well-being. Dr. S is patient, non-judgemental, a great listener, and though overworked, (as seems the case for this clinic) is willing to give you his extra time. The high rating is discounting experience with reception--could be warmer and more professional. Worth noting is the convenience of being able to book appointments by doctor--and having a calendar view of their availability. This is something the other clinic in Banff (with higher patient satisfaction ratings) doesn't yet have.
Whoever the secretary is there, real nasty Please reconsider.
I was seen promptly. Being from US I did need to pay upfront and seek insurance reimbursement on my own but I expected that. A busy clinic with competent doctors and staff.
Dr.Clem has been very kind and knowledgeable with me!! I went him for something I thought was trivial but he handled the matter professionally. Everyone there is kind and polite, and I have not had any problems with them!!
This is a small Clinic, in a busy town. Expect a wait. The doctors and staff are excellent.
I have been a patient of Alpine Medical for several years. Yes- I have had time that I have had to wait despite having an appointment , but i understand the same courtesy has been extended to myself and my family. The physicians are straight forward and thorough.
Went to this Center last week with my daughter. The receptionist who was in training either didn't wear a mask or else had her mask under her nose the entire time. This was even though there were signs everywhere saying that masks were mandatory. All the other staff and patients wore their masks. It really stressed me out. The medical staff were nice. Building is hard to find and would be really difficult for anyone with mobility issues to access.
just wanted to give a shout out to the receptionist team who are clearly dealing with A LOT with the Covid situation in Banff, working their butts off to keep us safe and healthy.
This has been our family doctor for the last 5 years of living in the Bow Valley. We've always felt well-cared for at this clinic. Dr. Fowke delivered our first baby, and even though we have moved farther away now, I only trust Dr. Fowke to look after me and deliver the rest of my babies too. Thanks for looking after us! :)
Staff went above and beyond when I brought my wife in close to their closing time. The location provides a very friendly, almost home-like atmosphere. All staff I personally interracted with seemed geniunely concerned for the patient. The doctor made a call to the emergency room and the transition from their care to emerg was seamless. Thank you guys.
Worst Worst clinic ever. Very disorganized office staff. 2 times my wife's booked appointment was misplaced and when we got to the clinic for my wife's follow up appointment the doctor we scheduled to see was on vacation. If the doctor was going to be on a vacation, you shouldn't schedule any patients to visit that doctor. Doctors are nice and eager to help but they need a better office staff and management.
I was in town for a work conference and required a doctors visit. I was dreading the process as an out of province patient at a walk in but was amazed with the service I received. The receptionist was incredibly helpful over the phone and in the office, and both the medical student and doctor were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and polite. I found out that they were even short a doctor that day and I still was able to book an appointment, see a doctor in 2 hours and had a positive experience. I wish my long time family doctor was this easy to visit back home!
Went in for a checkup as I haven't had a family doctor since I was very young. Had an appointment with Dr. Weaver who was extremely condescending, acting as if I was dumb for not knowing that physicals are only for those 50+ (sorry for caring about my health lol) and made me scared to ask questions or talk about my health. She told me I did not need to be seen as I'm young and probably healthy and should leave. She and the nurse also did not close the office door fully during my visit! There was literally only one other patient in the office when I was there so not sure why they needed to rush me out. I have had much better experiences in other towns with walk in clinic doctors who are also super busy! Don't be rude to your patients, it's very unprofessional. I work in the service industry and get lots of "stupid" questions/requests from customers but if I ever acted like this to one of them I would be written up.
I've had to go in a couple of times during the pandemic and clearly the staff are under an awful lot of pressure and incredibly busy. Despite that they were great. Hats off to you all for an incredible job during hard times.
I waz going to go here but after all the bad reviews i wont bother lake louise medical clinic is way better and worth the extra 30 mins
Don't know why this place has bad reviews. Doctor MacDonald was really nice & a great doctor - I read the reviews and was a little concerned but it was absolutely fine
I would also give 0 stars. My sister and I came in for sore throats and then charged 100$ for a test to make sure it wasn't streap throats and instead of that she seemed more intrested in telling my family that we were over weight and so unhealthy and that we needed to be on a strict diet and I was very hurt because I didn't come in to this place to be hurt I came to see if I had strep throat. Overall this place is the worst the only nice thing is the ladies at the front are nice. I'm rating this place a 0 out of 10 If your sick you may as well just go to the hospital. Also I nearly forgot to mention the docter we had was very rude and she had a mean tone. And when she was telling us about our weight everyone in the waiting room could hear us. And when I left I hand no self confidence. Very unprofessional and a lack of privacy at this clinic. No privacy at all ! Before we were called in the lady in front of us was in the room and the docter was yelling about what was wrong with her ? HERES A THOUGHT MAYBE GET BETTER PRIVACY! ????????????????????
If you're desperate only. This place is the fast food of medical clinic. The doctors just wanna get rid of you. Unfortunately it's the only walk in clinic in town. I prefer to go to the emergency at the hospital instead...
Dr. Fowke is the best Doctor, she is so passionate even me n my husband don't speak good English it is important for u Fowke s to have good communication n understanding with doctor but language is not a barrier to communication for Dr. Fowke and of course she has so much experience for her job, we are so blessed to have her in my pregnancy n delivery time. Now we have a healthy normal delivery baby . Thank you so much Doctor n all Apine medical clinic staffs.
American style health care in the heart of Banff the dr told me if I had any questions regarding my medication to call or come in. Well I made the mistake of calling this morning was told by receptionist that it was a 100$ to talk to the dr over the phone. Which had to be paid first. Never again . If you like to be treated like a patient and not a customer head over to the hospital or anywhere but here.
Doctor MacDonald was amazing and when my family doctor is unavailable I feel so comfortable being around him and you can tell he cares about his patients. Also the lovely receptionist I believe here name was Monica H. Was so lovely and was a great face to deal with when you aren't feeling well. She is a great asset to this place and would come back to have her again.
The clinic itself is okay, however if you are in need of a Doctor, I highly recommend avoiding Dr. MacDonald. He is rude, dismissive and not personable. Perhaps other Doctors at this clinic are more professional.
Absolutely ridiculous. 3.15pm appointment. It's now almost almost 4pm. Absolutely no remorse not even a hint of an apology and the doctor is nowhere to be seen. At least alpine medical clinic knows that people who need to see doctors have absolutely nothing else to do in their lives. Ridiculous!
I had the blessing to work for this place about 15 years ago when I was living in Banff. I had the opportunity to witness first-hand the love, commitment, dedication and professionalism of the doctors. Doctor Fowke was amazing on the pre-natal care of my daughters and the delivery of my eldest. I was high risk with my second pregnancy and I was referred to a specialist in Calgary (although this last doctor was good and knew her job, the friendliness, love, compassion and professionalism of Dr. Fowke does not compare!). To this date, our whole family prefers to travel to Banff to see our doctors Fowke, Shigeishi. Dr. Shigeishi is my husband doctor. Not only as a human being he is amazing, but also as a professional. Very dedicated and scrupulous. When I worked there, I remember he used to run a bit late in his consultations. I came to realize because he is very thorough and does not take patients lightly. This is why he is always super busy: patients love his approach and those faithful to him do mind waiting a little longer to be seeing by him.
Get a new receptionist. Rude on the phone when calling to book an appointment. Just use another clinic, not worth it.
Short wait times and very pleasant staff. Unfortunately, an ear infection was missed and we ended up taking my son to the hospital the next day due to fevers of 40C. He required antibiotics and hydration.
I called Tuesday morning from Lake Louise w small medical problem . They had an appointment at 11. They let me know it was pay-today as I'm from out of the country. I walked in to a very packed waiting room, a kind of cluttery country-doc-type room. They saw me right away, Dr. Fowke was professional, friendly and efficient. I was on my way by 11:20 with a solution to my problem. Highly recommended! Thanks Banff Alpine Medical Clinic!
Walked in first thing in the morning 8:30, was seen immediately and greeted with kindness. Dr. Zuzana Triska was very kind and professional. She was thorough and was able to prescribe the right medication. This place was a God send and would recommend it to anyone! Then go across the street to Gourlay’s Pharmacy and met with the same caring, respectful attitude! Quick service in getting our prescriptions filled! Great experience all around!!!
Words cannot express how thankful I found dr fowke to be my doctor. Throughout my first pregnancy she was amazing and I felt truly lucky to have found such amazing doctor. Leading up to my due date she checked me daily towards the end and she always ensured I knew how to get a hold of her via phone. As we know in the bow valley cell phone coverage isn't always the best so she even told me what restaurant she was dining at one evening to ensure I could reach her if need be.When the time came she reassured me throughout the whole birthing process and truly made it an experience I will cherish and never forget. My second pregnancy was a little rocky as my baby had a heart condition found on ultrasound so I was seeing multiple clinics and doctors and dr fowke was my rock throughout - she helped me keep all the pieces together and kept up with my check ups and I knew I could always call her if needed. My second also decided to come six weeks early ( via emergency c section) and as soon as dr fowke received my delivery report she called me to see how I was going and she continued to check in on us even stopping by the NICU in Calgary to meet our newest arrival. She truly goes above and beyond for her patients on multiple occasions. I couldn't ask for any better care for myself and my girls as the service she delivers is something I never imagine we would receive.
Just moved to the area and needed immediate care. The walk-in clinic was SO fast and the receptionist was great at handling my out-of-province health care. Both the doctor and nurse who helped me were extremely caring and professional. They validated my concerns and gave me plenty of options. Happy to know this clinic is in the area.
Dr. Fowke is fantastic. Very informative and pleasant to talk to. The front desk staff are extremely accommodating, helpful, and friendly. One of the best clinics I've ever been to.
Dr Chawla prescribed me amoxicillin even though she was aware I had a penicillin allergy, since I hadn't taken it since I was a child. She told me "it was probably just a childhood sensitivity" with absolutely no evidence to the fact. What a joke. Do not go here.
Our husband and I feel so lucky to have had Dr Fowke for both my pregnancies. Her wealth of knowledge and experience is a privilege to have. Dr Fowke is so caring and supportive. She gives you all the options and empowers you to make your decisions based on what’s right for your situation. I always felt so comfortable and looked after by the whole team at Alpine Medical. You really need to write a book one day Jane, I can’t wait to read it.
Dr. Glover and her team were wonderful.
Being from out of town I was glad to be seen as a walk-in patient. Being a medical clinic, having the receptionist work while being quite ill with a massive cold should have been a warning sign. The doctor I saw gave the incorrect diagnostic, and stated my illness was viral and should be gone in 1-2 weeks. It turned out to be bacterial, which i am glad I got a second opinion on, and received the proper medication, which I started to feel better late that same day. If I followed the diagnostic of the doctor from Alpine Medical Clinic, who knows the complications I would of had waiting the 1-2 weeks.
Late Sunday afternoon, I crossed my skis on the slopes of the Canadian Rockies and severely injured my knee. I managed to hobble into Banff Alpine Medical Care at 10 minutes before they closed. In spite of my late arrival, they were prompt and thorough in their diagnosis, treatment and recommendations. I highly recommend their services should you find yourself unfortunate enough to need them.
Dr Fowke is our family doctor for the past 6 years. She delivered my three kids in a amazing way. She is a amazing doctor and she knows what she is doing. I just trust on her to take care of our family.
Dingy and disorganized. I was touring Banff and had a minor medical issue. They insisted on cash up front, and then took over an hour to see me. Dr. MacDonald was incredibly curt and I felt he dismissed my concerns without taking them seriously. Afterwards I looked him up and realized he is being sued for malpractice... I guess he is not a very good doctor. I would recommend other people to steer away from this place just in case.
I had Dr. MacDonald and he was very rude, forceful and unprofessional. After reading reviews and talking to friends I’ve found out there’s been an ongoing pattern. I’ve never been one to leave negative reviews but I feel if less people go here, then it will create a need for him to improve himself and his practice. So if you can avoid this place then please do so.
I highly recommend that if you live in the Bow Valley to seek medial attention elsewhere. I have come here because of the same-day appointment availability . However, after coming here multiple times for reoccurring issues, I have yet to receive any answers. I have seen a variety of the doctors at the clinic, and always receive a lack of caring, a lack of getting to the root of the issue, and never have received adequate treatment for the issues presented. Most recently I had tests done and were told I’d be in contact to book a follow up appointment. No communication was had, weeks after the tests were done. When I went to place an appointment online to discuss the results, it was declined. The student-doctor during the testing appointment informed me that I had an infection, yet no communication was made with the results. Now on the hunt for a doctor in the Bow Valley accepting patients.
Reception was so mad that I didn’t check the voice mail on my phone which I don’t have that voice message system. As I made an appointment online, COVID prescreening answer can be done online/email too. Who is coming into the clinic when you have flu symptoms now, she was shouting at me “you need to do the prescreening before entering the clinic every time!!!” Treated very uncomfortable.
We were visiting Banff from BC when my spouse had an injury that we felt she should see an MD about. Front line staff here were friendly and helpful, and she was able to see a Doctor in less than 20 minutes from the time we walked in. A positive experience from start to finish. We left with our concerns well addressed (and both of us relieved) and a prescription that we filled locally. Back to our vacation in very sort order - thank you to all!
Excellent! I've lived in Banff for a few years now, and thankfully Alpine clinic is efficient and there knowledge seems to know no bounds. Taking there time to always explain in detail what they feel is going on, or even just the way they listen and care. Keep being awesome!
I brought my teen son into the clinic during the week after Christmas. We're from Ottawa and had been skiing that day at Sunshine, where my son had twisted his lower leg. After a short wait, we were seen by Dr. Shigeishi and I was delighted with his care. He spent a considerable amount of time understanding how the injury had happened, diagnosing the problem and advising on options for treatment. Everything about the experience was excellent and I feel fortunate that we had such easy access to such a fine doctor and clinic.
Nice and very friendly place.
Been going to this clinic since my wife and I first moved to Banff. This is a busy clinic as Banff services residents, temporary residents and visitors. If something serious needs attention they will always make time, even when busy. I love the staff here, and I (male) have felt very supported. Dr. Fowke delivered both of my kids and was an incredible advocate and guide in our experience at the hospital. They have been strong advocates and a resource during Covid. One of the first clinics to offer testing and vaccinations. I highly recommend this clinic.
I attended the clinic last Saturday with a sore calf muscle. I was seen by Dr Weaver who gave me a very thorough examination and prescribed medication to get me safely home to Scotland. Medical staff at the Western General hospital in Edinburgh were full of praise for her treatment, as after many additional tests I was found to have a lung clot. Dr Weaver's initial treatment probably prevented much more serious consequences and I am very grateful for all the help provided. Brenda from Edinburgh
Online booking is great. Doctors are best in the valley
I was from out of town and walked in. I was very impressed with how helpful the reception team was and how quickly they got me in with a Dr, I waited for maybe 15 minutes. Dr Clem was amazing! He was patient, understanding and took all my concerns seriously. I would 100% use this clinic again in the event I needed medical attention while in the area.
I only give 2 stars cause the staff was really nice. The doctor herself was really unprofessional, it was busy that day but she didn’t even bother checking me properly. She also made a wrong diagnosis which had me suffering for 2 more weeks until I went to a doctor in Calgary.
Just wanted to give a shout out to all the clinic staff for all the hard work they are doing for our community during the Covid-19 crisis. Thank you for the great care we had this morning!
This clinic is amazing. My family and I have been seeing Dr.Shigeishi for years and have never been disappointed in his medical care. He is easy to talk to, compassionate, caring, hardworking and extremely intelligent.
I was in the clinic and the care and expertise I recieved was amazing. I was educated on my condition and NOT rushed which was nice. Dr. Fowke was very understanding and knowledgeable on my condition and for that i am very grateful. For you ladies out there who have some questions or concerns regarding womens health issues this clinic is the place to go! Thanks again Dr. Fowke
Had to go there a couple of weeks ago because I had a stomach bug and I needed a doctors note. Waited there for about one and a half hours (didn't have an appointment of course), concentrating on not to throw up. When I finally saw the doctor, I started explaining my issues, like I usually do it when I see a doctor. After a while she was interrupting me, asking me "so what do you need?" When I told her that I'm here for a doctor's note, she reacted quite annoyed, asking why I didn't mention that in the beginning, like I was stealing her time. I mean I don't want the doctor to act like my mum and care for me like I'm a little baby, but after I waited that long to see her it was very disappointing that she wasn't interested in what I was telling her in any way. Seemed like she was rather blaming me for being hungover, just getting a doctor's note so I don't have to work. At least she didn't charge me the full price of 250$ to see her, just a 100 bugs and 20 for the note. But still, this place doesn't offer a good service. The doctor seemed like she wanted to get rid of everybody. Of course it was a busy day, but it is her job to deal with it and she didn't do it in a good way at all.
Wasn't asked if I were okay with a male trainee preforming my pap smear. Also had another physician disturbing us mid procedure.. very uncomfortable experience. Always been scared of doctors and this did not help. The male trainee was very nice and calm, but would have liked to been asked if I was okay with him preforming my procedures. I felt like I didn't have a choice at the end of the day and that's not okay. Review mended after several phone calls from Alpine regarding my choice of words. I said receptionist instead of physician in my review and also whether or not the door was fully open when the disturbance happened. We agreed on ajar. My apologies Laura.
I have been seen on a number of occasions recently as a result of a persistent illness. The staff have been excellent at getting me appointments with a minimum of wait time and I have seen several different doctors, all of whom have been spectacular.
Dr. Fowke is an outstanding asset to the women of the Bow Valley and their fertility. She is compassionate and provides patient care above and beyond what is expected. Thanks Alpine Medical!
The front staff were extremely nice and helpful however the doctor herself was awful. Terrible bedside manner, I came in feeling horrible and left feeling worse! The doctor told me I was making up my illness and not to worry. Went to a doctor in Calgary and it turned out to be a more severe infection than I thought. Good thing I went for a second opinion. Also when the doctor was checking my kidneys she hit me so hard that it winded me. She obviously didn't want to be there, but she didn't have to take it out on me. Never coming back.
