Wasn’t aware they schedule in 15 minute blocks which isn’t really realistic. Don’t do outfit changes on weekends...but was able to as long as we hurried and wasn’t told this before my appt. Felt extremely rushed for something you pay good money for and want to be special. Didn’t have a huge variety of backgrounds or props...brought my own. Would schedule during week as Saturday was extremely hectic and stressful. Photographer did a great job and accommodating.

Scheduling was a issue, they scheduled us an appointment at the exact time they opened, 1/2hr later we were finally called to take photos. They schedule in 15 min block, there is no way that is going to happen. When we returned to pick up photos there were gone to lunch and a sign said they would be back at 4:45, they close at 5:00.. The photos were ok but not photo studio quality.

Unprofessional. Waited 30 minutes past my appointment for our session to begin. On two separate occasions. One person working the desk and the photoroom for the first hour. When the other worker did arrive, she interrupted our session to ask for the log in information. Never again.

Let me 1st say this NOT a issue with the Taylor location!!! I ordered extra pictures online from our shoot at the Taylor office through the website. First my additional 5x7 were scratched and bent . I sent them a email right away and received no response. Now tonight I received my ornaments I ordered and for some horrible reason they placed the hole through my 2 year old forehead. You see that the picture is not even oriented that way. So frustrating.....

Let me say that everything was great with pics and photographer, but when we picked up our pictures and canvas up the lady tried to sell us our pictures in the envelope for $20 saying they are valued at $75 or 1 for $10. When we said no she just threw them in the trash right in front of us. We paid for the most expensive package that they offered. Very rude attitude I must say!

Appointment was scheduled for 3:15 and my son didn’t take his pictures until an hour later. At that point my son is cranky and needed a nap so my session went TERRIBLE and hardly got any pictures. Photographer was a nice girl but that’s just unprofessional

I had a wonderful experience at jc penney portrait studios. My photographer captured every price less moment that I thought of. She was sweet, kind and patient. I would recommend this studio to Anyone. Thanks for doing a great job.

I tried to make a reservation but they don't allow more than 8 people in a photo. I think they should adjust the rules to accommodate people with bigger families maybe not more than 20 in a photo. They are missing out on money because of this rule and lost my business

Wait times extend well beyond your appointment time. If would only go here if you absolutely have no other option. Bring pillows and blankets, movies, and snacks for the kids, and yourself. Everytime I have gone here I had a long wait. My most recent visit there was only 1 customer ahead of us, so I thought oh sweet we finally will be able to get in at our appointment time. Boy was I wrong the 1 and only worker that was there was back there with them taking their photos for 40minutes before they came out, only to do a wardrobe change and head back. At that point it was a he past our appointment and I knew it we wouldn't be seen anytime soon. So me and my family decided to just head home and never come back to this place. 1 other employee did end up showing up about a half before be decided to leave but he didn't pay any attention to us he focused on the phone calls, and cash register, his excuse was they only had "one camera that was working"

Wish I could give this establishment a 0 star. This was chaotic and ridiculous. Why book a time when your go over an hr wait to even be seen. Knowing most people have kids and babies!!! They do not want to wait that long. Learn how to schedule people accordingly. Do not just shove people in and expect them to wait for a long time. Don’t give people time slots. Saddened by this and I feel bad for the workers. They seem rushed and have to rush you. Gut wrenching to watch them run around. I’m definitely sharing my experience with my friends and family. I do not want them to ever have to deal with this place and their wait time. FYI put a sign out may be over an hr wait.

My family and I went to the studio in Taylor. It was disorganized and a lot of frustrated families were waiting for hours to get their photos taken. After managing through this aggravating experience and tolerating the frustrated overwhelmed staff, I wouldn't receive my pictures. It's been almost two weeks with endless calling and emailing. I finally received my digital pictures, but no copyright release. Again I have been reaching out to the Taylor studio and every customer service phone number and email, but nobody is capable of sending me the copyright release. It's not in my Shutterfly account either as they promised me. My family didn't receive Thanksgiving cards due to JCPenney staff's lack of support. I am still praying to get the release soon to at least send out Christmas cards.

I had an appointment today for 3:30. My husband took off of work and I took my daughter out of school early to be at this appointment. At 3:30 the photographer took back the 3:15, which involved 2 small kids, 1 adult and a wardrobe change. We ended up leaving at 4:30 because the other family still had several shots to do. My first issue is why were the appointments scheduled so closely when more time was obviously needed? My second issue is that there was another photographer available but he said the other camera room was "broken". So, after hours of getting myself and my kids ready and my husband taking the day off of work we don't even have pictures to show for it. This is not the first time we've had an issue with extremely long waits here, but we decided to try again. There was no apology by the photographer either, he just watched us leave. He had a horrible attitude. We will NEVER be back to have pictures done and will warn all my friends and family about this studio

Had an appointment today for 3:45. Showed up and was informed it was still an hour wait. After an hour there was still another at least 45 more minutes. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. Not a place for young kids.

Mediocre. Horrible. Robots. Why have "appointments" only to make us wait well past an hour after our original "appointment" time. Someone who checked in 25 minutes after us went before us. It makes NO SENSE. No organization systems in place. Never again will we go to JC Penny Portraits. Please do not waste your time. These people aren't even real photographers, and they don't know what they are doing.

I have been going here for years and I am never disappointed!! I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Everything from newborns to adults and even our dog.they are friendly and professional! My favorite is angel she is absolutely amazing!!!! Keep up the awesome job everybody!!!

The photographer was amazing but the person up front who checks you in and shows you the pictures was not! She didnt seem like she knew what she was doing and wasn't helpful at all! But over all besides her it was great and a great price.

Great place! Very professional. The only complaint we have ever had was wait time! Honestly though, they alway get a smile out of my kid. We went two months ago and for the FIRST TIME they have earned a 5 star from me because there was no wait time and we were in and out!

Well my husband scheduled our family Christmas picture appointment online. They called a couple times and didn’t leave a voicemail until 9pm the night before to confirm our appointment. We were running a bit late but when we called to inform them of it, they claimed they didn’t have an appointment for us. When we got there they told us a 45 minute wait, no big deal I guess we could get dinner. Except nothing was open(not their fault). An hour and 30 minutes later we go back and we are next! We already went over lose info and stuff when we showed up and they wrote it down, 2 backgrounds etc. The photographer was pushing us onto only one background (at this point it’s my son’s bedtime, he is crabby) . We took a few family shots and did a couple with dad and son. Then a few with me and my son. Only 5 picture showed up on her screen when she showed us! I couldn’t believe the rest were literally black and green pixels. We were offered a reschedule but it would have been another week out and way too late for Christmas pictures! Severely disappointed and will never try jcpenney portraits ever again!

Angel did my kids pictures today and they came out absolutely amazing! I highly recomend this place and her! Amazing deals as well! I received 11 sheets of prints 1 free and the rest 4 dollars a piece with a coupon and saved 168.00 dollars! Well worth the price and have angel do your pictures!

The appointment was set for 5 pm . It was my daughter , her husband and 3 kids , 4, 2 and 3 months . They were told running behind about 10 - 15 min . Ok no problem . About 40 min later , kids are tired of waiting , having meltdowns and they decide they are ready for them . It was a hot mess . It wasn’t the employees there , it’s the people who schedule the appointments . They seriously feel families with small children can be done and out within 15 minute sessions . Really ? Bad way to run it all and they really need to rethink . We were told the Southland store seems to be the only studio they book so many , so close . Very disappointed. I feel sorry for those workers trying to make everyone happy yet still hearing the complaining . Try putting your customers satisfaction first over making money . You would be surprised.

Loved our photographer but when I went to get the pictures I ordered i was really upset that they had extra pictures that I didn't order with the option for me to buy. I understand that there trying to make money but i just don't think they should do that. Especially since I bought the digital and copie rights to the pictures and could have printed them out for free at home what they charged me $20 for that I didn't even ask for. Great idea to make money but sneaky and I don't like it.

Waited an hour in a half for an appointment scheduled and we decided to leave. It's understandable 30-45mins behind, but that was way too long with a 5yr old and 1 yr old and still had another appointment ahead of us. Maybe schedule sessions further apart or limit the poses families are aloud to get. Won't recommend
