Because she tried to be a friend, not just for a business. I definitely can tell she is the best photographer I ever met! She has a good personality and her mind as well. My fiancé and I were very fortunate that we won an engagement shoot with Henny. She was so fun and easy to work with and even though my fiancé hates taking pictures he really enjoyed it. Henny, where do I even begin.. Henny is fantastic! Her work speaks for itself clearly - she really has an eye, and is very much on the ball! She even manages to capture those moments where you might think « ah I wish someone caught that! ». But Henny’s incredible work goes beyond angles and exposure.. and that’s the energy she brings to the day! (Just look at the photo my dad got of her in action, you can really see her passion, and warm soul) She has wonderful cues, unique and beautiful ideas, and does it all in a way where we felt calm and comfortable. We were blessed to win 2 hours of her time as part of a giveaway and although I wasn’t checking the time I’m pretty sure she may have extended her generosity.. and if that’s not the case she managed to get A LOT done in the time that she was there! Having her as our wedding photographer was truly a dream come true!!! All of our wedding guests commented on how wonderful she was. We can't recommend Henny enough if you're considering her as a photographer for your special event. Henny's eye for a beautiful picture was the reason we hired her, but it's certainly not the only thing that makes her exceptional. From the initial meeting with her, we both immediately noticed her warmth, passion and attention to detail. We both felt like she took the time to get to know us, and learn as much as she could about the sequence of events leading up to the big day. On the day, she was incredibly accommodating, easy-going and went out of the way to make sure that she not only got the perfect shot, but also that we were at our most comfortable while she was doing so (even bringing us food at one point!). I was nervous about doing my own hair and make-up for photos, and she was very supportive & re-assuring about all my decisions as a bride. She was the one who encouraged us to leave the party for a short time to have alone time, which ended up being one of my favourite memories of the day. She also went above and beyond the next day, when she encouraged us to do an impromptu sexy post-wedding bliss photoshoot (honestly, best decision, include this in your budget)! I can honestly say she didn't just document our day, she helped to make it even more special than it already was! Lastly, her pictures - as if they don't speak for themselves.... We just received our photos back this week, and looking at them transported me right back to the day of our wedding. She managed to capture not only moments, but the feelings and essence of the whole event. Her photos have brought me, and many of the friends & family I've shared them with, to tears (of happiness). Henny, I can't thank you enough for all the magical contributions you made to our day. We will treasure your photographs forever! <3 <3

Henny was recommended to us by a fellow photographer and it was like we won the wedding photographer lottery! From start to finish, she was professional, prompt, detail-oriented, and highly talented. She met with us at our home and enquired about details that we hadn't even considered yet. She went to the location ahead of time to check the lighting and to familiarize herself with the unique landscape. We had a small, intimate wedding on a beach in West Vancouver. Henny captured so many beautiful shots and we loved her attention to those candid moments that we would otherwise have never noticed. She sent us a sneak peak within 36 hours and the whole album within 2-3 weeks (a much shorter timeframe than she originally estimated). The final pictures were everything we could have hoped for and more. We found her price for our "elopement style" wedding shoot to be incredibly reasonable. I would use her again in a heartbeat.

We first met Henny through a friend who completed a fashion shoot with her. Henny spent an entire evening with my fiancé and I at Lighthouse Park to shoot our engagement photos. We had an amazing time with Henny and the whole experience seemed like we just went hiking with a good friend who was super talented with a DSLR. The photos turned out great and we even enlarged some shots on canvas. For our wedding day, we thought of having Henny shoot our wedding photos as well. That way, her style would be consistent with our engagement shots. She is certainly an expert when it comes to working with different lighting. An important aspect of her work is that she knows how to pose her subjects to get the best angles. Once you see yourself in her shots, you will know what I'm talking about. Above all, she makes you feel comfortable and at ease, so the pictures come out looking natural. Henny took headshots for me to use for work and answered all of my questions from what kinds of clothes I should wear to how I should stand. I had had numerous awkward photo sessions with other photographers, which made me a bit nervous going into it, but I immediately felt at ease with Henny. People have commented on how nice the pictures are and I think the biggest compliment to her work is that the photos are professional enough to use for work, but also my close friends and family said that her photos capture my personality. I got to know Henny's work through instagram. I love how genuine her work looked and booked her for my engagement photos. When I booked her service, I was so pleasantly surprised that she wanted to get to know us before the shoot - she sent us questionnaires about us, and we had a zoom meeting as well. So when the day of the photoshoot came and we met her, it was like we already knew each other. On top of this she is so fun and energetic and had great tricks to make us laugh and just goof around. I think our photos turned out so well - so natural and just us at the best angle. I also loved her editing, she captured the colours so beautifully. I hope to have her photograph us again!

Henny is an amazing photographer and a beautiful storyteller! She is so gifted at capturing and framing all our special moments. She was our engagement photographer and we loved her style so much, we ended up changing our wedding photographer to her as well, and it was the best decision we’ve made! Henny is so easy to work with and made us feel comfortable from the start. Despite numerous postponements on our engagement shoot due to COVID, she was very flexible and catered to our schedule.
