I had checked out his portfolio so I knew we were booking a very experienced and talented photographer, but when our engagement photos came back I was still blown away. He knew exactly how to direct us with minimal effort, he had so many great ideas for photos (including a freaking DRONE), and he was so easy to get along with! My husband’s brother, who was at the same table during dinner, even made a point of telling us what an awesome guy he was. The images are crisp, clear, and drop-dead gorgeous, and I'm so glad we'll have them for a lifetime to remember our wedding day.

Jim was absolutely amazing to work with. From the time we booked him he was always timely in responding to our e-mails, informative, organized and SO friendly. A week prior to our wedding, we did a 'getting to know you' shoot' which was awesome because Jim wanted to make sure we weren't awkward or uncomfortable on the big day, and of course, allowed us to become familiar with him! Our wedding day went without a hitch, Jim made sure that we got photos with everyone on our list, he took hundreds of candids (our favourites), and even stayed beyond the contracted time to take photos of a sing-a-long my friends and I did. BONUS - he is FANTASTIC with children. After the wedding, we got sneak peaks, a video slideshow (which was beautiful), and countless photos which have allowed us to relive the day over and over again. Mike (my husband) and I cannot thank Jim enough for capturing our day to a tee.

Given Jim's experience and reputation, choosing him as our wedding photographer was a very easy decision. From day one, the lines of communication between ourselves and Jim were always very open, efficient, and honest. A few weeks prior to our wedding day, he held an ice breaker photo session with us and this proved to be a very worthwhile exercise. It enabled us an opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera and get a feel for his approach to photography. This was great and we got some awesome pictures from it as well! Upon arrival of our Big Day, Jim had everything ready to go. He had an itinerary prepared for the day, the locations for different shoots were all arranged, and he was ready in every way to get things going! As such, his preparedness and demeanour made us feel very relaxed and we knew we were in good hands. Jim is very focused, extremely accommodating, and a lot of fun to work with. It's very apparent that he truly loves what he does and takes a lot of pride in his work!! His outgoing personality and ability to relate to people really helped him capture many great moments throughout the course of the day and well into the evening. Jim certainly exceeded our expectations and thanks to him we have many pictures and memories to share and cherish forever.

Cannot say anything but the best about Jim. From the start he was accommodating and very professional to work with... We are from out of province and he communicated great via email, facetime, and phone, and made sure we were comfortable with his services. Most importantly, he is very talented, has an eye for the most beautiful and memorable images, and can make even the most self-conscious couple (us!) feel relaxed and photo-ready. Also when your session is complete, Jim will send you an app that can bring up all of your photos! We have Jim's lovely work from our wedding day hung in our home and are also interested in ordering his beautiful photos from iconic locations in Newfoundland. He is so talented. We love Jim!

Jim was everything we were looking for in a wedding photographer! Not only was he so much fun and easy-going to work with throughout our day, but the pictures that he captured are better than anything I could have ever imagined. About two months before our wedding we decided we wanted to have a last dance at the end of the reception followed by a sparkler send-off, so we extended Jim’s booking through the end of the night. He was so accommodating about the change (even though it meant it was going to be a 12 hour day for him), and he captured some beautiful shots from the both the last dance and sparkler send-off that we will treasure forever. I cannot say more positive things about Jim, and would highly recommend him to anyone!

This review is better late than never????. We chose JP Mullowney for our wedding last October and could not have made a better decision. Jim was extremely accommodating throughout the entire process and made us extremely relaxed the day of the wedding! Our pictures were amazing and captured all the little special moments. Our little boy, who was 2.5 at the time, was getting a little overwhelmed during the day and Jim was amazing and patient throughout the process. He even managed to get my little boy to relax and take some breathtaking shots! Needless to say my little boy had a blast with Jim! We will definitely be using Jim for more photo shoots in the future.
