Today I went by Henry’s in Scarborough by Kennedy and 401. I wanted to print a few pictures from my phone and also reduce an already printed photo. They had to all be a specific size. This I’m sure may not be complicated for many yet for me it is. I waited in line and was hoping to get some assistance. I at first thought both people ahead of were together because they both were very warm and friendly to each other. It turns out one was a customer and the other was Jacob, an employee at Henry’s. He acknowledged me and let me know he will be with me shortly. Once he finished with the customer he assisted me. What an amazing customer experience!!! He even went ahead and beyond his duty and let me know Michaels had a 40% off sale and I was able to get my hooks to hang my frames at 40% off. Jacob was the epitome of excellent customer service. I was here last year as well and had a similar experience with someone else. I highly recommend Henry’s.

They have a history of helping out youth in our community. While Big Box stores spend 10 time the money to promote something they give, this Family owned business, just gets out and does it. That and the fact all of the staff are active photographers and the prices of most camera's are close anyways, makes this the store for me and my family.

Horrible experience they treated me like dirt not even worth 1/2 star I bought a 1500$ camera and I was told that if I buy it they could walk me through it and came back the next day to ask a few questions about it The sales associate rudely made fun of me and told me if I don't know anything about the camera I should return it so then I had nothing to say I came back the next day since it was busy The day before Michael the so-called manager reminds me of a big PRICK he's taking his salesperson side and telling me that I have no business ethics to mention threatening me telling me we'll see what happens when you walk out of the store .... I told him that I want a refund and he has a smirk I feel bad for the sales lady that helped me she was such a great help unfortunately had no choice but to return I still feel bad that she lost her commission before you go in can I suggest you to private message me if you have any questions or concerns about this location. NEW UPDATE *** I talked to headoffice and again they are taking their side HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Purchased ink. They have a wide range of photo equipment, good prices, knowledgeable staff. And, at the mall locations, lots of free parking. Mall locations are usually near a highway or major road, making access convenient. The Church St. store is larger and carries an even larger selection, being downtown it's convenient to transit but parking can be more difficult/expensive.

Went in to buy a tripod. Was greeted by an individual named Mark (darker skinned individual with clear acetate glasses). Helped me buy the tripod and out of curiosity ended up asking him for some help cinn texting my phone to my fuji. Mark sat with me for 40 minutes trying to connect my phone. Updated my software and made sure my phone would pair with my camera. Really appreciated all the extra help. Would 100% recommend buying camera gear from here when possible the support is amazing.

they get 2 stars for having some decent equipment. they lose the other 3 because I needed to return 1 item out of like 6 items I bought and they just kept trying to come up with excuses not to let me return my item. nothing was damaged and I made sure that everything was in the condition I bought it in. I only had the item for 3 days before I did my return. then once they agreed to let me do the return, they kept trying to sell me more items to convince me not to return my item. it just screamed desperation rather than helpfulness to me. I shopped at Henry's because of their reputation but after this experience, I don't think I'll shop here again.

I posted a one star review a while ago because I was completely ignored when I went into the store. HOWEVER The Manager was so responsive that I tried them again some months later I have since been back 3 or 4 times and each time the service has been professional, knowledgeable and most courteous. Based on these visits I updated the review to 5 stars - clearly whatever happened on my first visit was a one-off and has not happened since. Keep up the good work!

Henry's customer in Toronto for many years (longer than the sales clerk has been alive). Visited their Windsor location as, based on my Toronto experiences, they always are knowledgeable and helpful. Not this time. Wanted replacement batteries for my Sony Video Cam plus information re the WiFi wrist module. Young lady was unsure of the answer and I requested that someone familiar with the product assist me. Responds, well you will have to wait to speak with one of the two gentlemen and just walks away and heads into the back room. And that's it...never referred my query directly to them. Waited for a bit and then left. Went to Best Buy where they not only had the replacement but their camera expert was able to assist with my query. Henry's Windsor, excellent job of losing a sale and a customer.

The man that helped me was named Mark Sianquita and he was a very knowledgeable, talented photographer who provided me with a very wonderful experience. A few days ago I spoke with a gentleman Ethan over the phone, in regards to a new camera I was willing to purchase. He explained everything in detailed of their pro's and con's and just helpful in every way. I actually scheduled to meet him the next following day but I got caught up with work and had to go there another day. Went in there today and was politely greeted by staff member behind the counter. Store is big, clean, organized and spacious and has lots of camera gear. However I was completely ignored for about 10 minutes while I was in pacing back and forth waiting for staff to help me. It wasn't that busy inside so not sure why no one was helping. I was expecting to get some advice since I am new to photography and read a lot of positive reviews online. Not sure if I will return.

How refreshing it is to have a clean and new camera shop in the city! Except they need some work on customer service. I walked in at 6pm and 3 different staff members saw me, no greeting. But thats okay, I don't care for small talk anyways. However, it was obvious I was looking for something cause I went through the entire store and caught eyes with every staff member working only to be skimmed over and ignored for someone else. No big deal I figured, Ill wait for the next person. I was grabbing umbrellas trying to find the size needed but no one offered help. Then a new customer walks in and the girl who just walked right past me greets him and offers him help. Was there something on my face? I didn't need much help but it wouldve been nice to know if you had a particular umbrella in stock. Plus, if Henry's in Toronto can reply to my email inquiry within an hour, theres no reason you guys can't for an inventory check. But you didn't and that shows how little you care.

I'm a fan of the Sony RX100M1 - I've owned 7 now. When I bought #5 I went to Henry's. ret service, but wishing a month the camera was doing funny stuff, double shots randomly and more. They said they would normally send it away for repair, but I was leaving town at the end of the week on a cruise, so they gave me a fresh one on the spot.

October 10th, 2021, I went to Henry's camera on Broadway in Vancouver for the first time. I had good experiences ordering online from the store in Toronto, so I thought I would try out the real store. I was lucky to meet Cory who was very helpful. I am not an expert in cameras at all, but Cory was very patient with me and explained many technical terms so that I understood what they mean. I have a mirrorless camera that I bought because people I know said it was good, but affordable. So it is not the top model, but it is the best camera I have ever had. I want to get my first new lens but online there are too many choices. There are so many lenses that could fit my camera, with lots of different features and options. Then, other ones that could fit with an adapter. I could not figure out why one lens that looked just the same to me as another would cost so much more. So I decided to go to an actual store to see if it would help. It certainly did! Cory explained lots of details and even allowed me to put the most likely lens choice on my camera to try it. I immediately noticed it did not have the option to zoom with my thumb - this is called a "power zoom", he explained. I really like this feature because I can hold the camera steady and zoom. I did not realize that most lenses do not have this feature. The lens is a lot bigger than it looked online, but lighter than I thought. It was really great to see it on my camera and know how it feels to try and make it work. Every question that I had, Cory either knew the answer or was able to quickly look it up on his phone and tell me right away He knew a lot, but an impressive part of that knowledge was all the trustable photo gear sites. I was very relaxed by his patience and lack of pressure to buy. If the magic lens that did everything I wanted had emerged, I would have bought it. However, it seems that it might be better to get 2 new lens to cover everything I want to do. I still have to think about this more, but I have a great starting point. Thanks to Cory, I know a lot more about my options. I told him that I had bought some used gear on Henry's online before, but I thought there would not be any lens that would fit my new camera. Cory told me that sometimes gear that is fairly new can be traded in and to just check Henry's online periodically. Then, I expressed some doubt about buying a used lens from the Henry's site. Cory assured me that the quality and function of everything was checked by professionals before it was put up for sale. Maybe I will consider buying one new lens and the second from the used online store. I am sure Cory would advise me if I am making a good choice, even if the lens is on the Henry's web store.. It was worth the time to go into Henry's to see the lens options in person and even try one out. I am so glad they have a store in Vancouver now.

Nice new, clean store with lots of stuff. Same customer service you can expect from the Toronto store. The issue is that they had no 52mm lens caps in stock, which was what I was looking for, and they let me know they ran out long ago and had no idea when they would get more. This is not a good sign for a new store. If your customers can't rely on you to carry the essential equipment and accessories, they will stop wasting their time with your store. I went next door to London Drugs, and they had what I needed, in addition to a fully stocked grocery and pharmacy section. Maybe take some inventory and supply chain lessons from them.

Very deceptive pricing. They list the canon 70-200 f2.8 is ii at $2299.00 dollars. They say you will save $770.00 off list price. I've never seen that lens for a dime more than $2299.00 on line. Henry's dose that on all their products. I purchased that exact lens on line for $2199.00 about a year ago. Have purchased items from Henry's before. Won't be going back! Shop around.

Henry's has a great selection, but during this time of COVID-19, often items are not in stock. Thankfully, their shipping policy is good and fast. Henry's prices are very competitive and they have great open box equipment for excellent prices. I got a near mint, open box Nikon Z7 with a kit lens for just $3500 with a bonus $300 gift card. So I used it to save on a Nikkor 105mm f/2.8.

Nice to have another player on the photography retail scene in Vancouver, especially one that carries different product lines from the others i.e a wider range of Godox and Magmod. This is also a big space with lots to look at - plenty of gear to salivate over! I ve had to return /exchange a product and it was smooth and easy. They've also been very quick to respond over email so two thumbs up for my customer service experience. My only negative comment would be the lack of parking in the area... be prepared to pay, dropped off, walk in - or go green and take transit :) Also just found out they're opening at the mall near me so I hope that location will be more of the same.

The employees don't smile much and can sometimes be impatient too. If you're looking for GoPros and everything DSLR then by all means go to this location. Other than the things mentioned above the store is pretty redundant, everything inside is mediocre and the cameras are nothing special especially if you're looking to spend $1000+ or buy something high end. For rentals go to the downtown location and remember to bring ID and some form of credit card. All in all I would recommend going to the downtown location there's lots more options there and it's probably one of the best places to buy all things photography and videography in Toronto.

As a newcomer to the city finding a good camera store was key! I came across Henry's one day by chance and within 2 minutes of entering knew I had found my Vancouver store. I called this location to purchase a Canon Porgraf 300 printer I had researched online. I live in northern BC so we don't have access to stores like this to browse and ask questions in person. Saw some good deals online, so visited the store as it is their closest location to me. Wasn't necessarily intending on buying the camera I was half interested in, as it was stretching my budget a little. I was pleased to learn that Henry's matches their online prices (and those of others), including promotions. The lady that helped me, who I think was the manager, didn't pressure me, offered to show me around the camera and let me handle it etc... Online showed that the store was out of stock of the lens I needed to buy in order to get the deal on the camera I wanted... however, turns out the information was wrong, they had the lens. I ended up buying the camera and had a good visit. I'd been once before to this location several years ago. I wanted to take advantage of a buy 3 lens filters get a % off, but could really only find 2 I liked. After seeing me struggle, a sales associate said they'd just honour it on 2 filters. I recommend this location of Henry's.

First experience with Henry's they are nice welcoming and always willing to help. Not sure if it was just me but I did not receive the loyalty they are known for. I asked to get a T5i held for me till Monday the person working at the time said she would, called in Monday ready to buy it and well - they sold it on me. The lens I put on hold they were nice enough to hold it for me for 2 more days. I came in a day later to buy it, inspected it and there was major damage to the inside. I left with no confidence in this location, I was satisfied with their customer service, but not their customer loyalty - which is everything. I will be fair and give a 2 out of 5. Loyalty is everything. Just one experience - will try again.

This store is good. It does what it's supposed to. My last experience there could have been better. I called earlier in the day to make sure they had a specific battery I needed. The sales person asked for the model, when I gave to him, he sounded like he thought about it for a second and replied "mm yes should have lots of those in stock". When I showed up later in the day they did not have the battery. When I asked about it they said this usually needs to be ordered online. So it was a bit disappointing. All other times I have been able to pick up stuff I need there without any problems. Mostly self serve stuff

The worst customer service. Period. They have little to no ways to contact them during the shut down. I placed an order with express shipping, which was 2-3 to arrive…it’s been over a week and not even an email response of any kind. And chatting with them on their chat service online, is useless because they can’t even look up your order. Once my order arrives I will not be buy from them any longer. After the many thousands i’ve spent at this store to be ignored is just unprofessional. A delay would be expected because of the current climate, but taking money for express shipping and not sending it in even double the time is just wrong.

They offer great customer service in store but when issues happen their customer service seems to disappear. They do a great job with getting you to make purchases but no service after that. Recently made an online purchase of the Canon EOS R and the camera came in a thin plastic wrap. The package was shipped from Toronto to Vancouver. The box was damaged. For such an expensive camera, they shipped it with only a plastic wrap, not even a box! Who knows what kind of damage it did to the camera itself? I emailed their customer service right away and its now the 7th business day, still no response. I used to really enjoy shopping at Henry's but now I completely do not trust them anymore. I'm very disappointed with their customer service when problems arise. How the company handle and care for their products is one issue, and how they treat and handle (or ignore) their customers' concern is another.

When I walked in, I already knew which camera I wanted to buy. It had the same sale price as Best Buy but the people at best buy were so useless that I walked out not buying it there. I also had a lense in mind that I planned on buying. Ethan M. was a huge help. I love that you can try everything out in the store and get advice on how to achieve the type of photo you want, within your budget. Stores are all about trying to make a sale of course, and I know that, but the staff at this shop is always interested in putting into your hands the right product, not just any product. They provide valuable advice and guidance and you're willing to spend the time and effort to make sure that you have a clear understanding of the equipment that you're purchasing. They will even advise against certain purchases because they might feel that you have the proper focal links already accommodated in your camera bag. I'm not sure of how other stores operate when it comes to Camera sales and photography but this particular store is the best I've seen .

At first they just kept saying that it takes x amount of time to prep the lens for shipping but I really needed it for the trip. I suppose Christmas/Black Friday is a bit much for any company. I had no plans of buying anything but Marley showed me the printing machine and I honestly thought it was so cool! He also helped explain all the Sony lenses that I was looking at and I actually picked one up! Such great service and customer focus from him! I definitely recommend seeing him whenever you visit! I didn't get to interact much with the other sales staff but I noticed that they were super helpful with the other customers in the store as well. Alison (I'm assuming is the manager) was so welcoming when I first entered the store. She's very genuine and has a great attitude! She even invited me to come back to the store which I definitely will, either to print more photos or maybe even more lenses! Honestly a great first time Henry's experience!

This is the real review you are looking for. I have been visit this camera shop since they opened in Vancouver. I found that their staffs are poorly trained. Don't expect they are able to give you any professional advice. I bought an inkjet printer from them on black Friday. They give me a coupon for a free 8x10. When I went to the shop and make a 8x10 print, they said coupon is only valid from January next year. I instantly feel totally disappointed. How can they give you a posted dated coupon. I have no choice and just pay for it. There is a lot of choice for camera shops along Broadway. I don't think I will come back to this shop again. I will give it zero star if I can.

Called the store to put a Tamron lens on hold and asked if I could price match it with Amazon since they had it for $50 less than what Henry's is selling it for. Just incase the price match won't work, i've added the lens to my cart on Amazon and checked out (now waiting to be shipped). The person I was speaking with double checked the amazon website and said that they would be able to match it. Great! The next day, I drove to the store and asked to pick up the lens that I put on hold. The gentleman rang the lens through and I told him that I will be price matching with Amazon. He goes on the website and searches for the item. With my luck, the lens was no longer there to be found but told him that I have the lens ordered already on Amazon and just waiting on it to be shipped. I showed him the price of my order and explained that the only reason why I put the lens on hold was because of the price and that I would be able to pick it up instantly, unfortunately he showed zero interest in helping me out at all (even though his colleague already approved the price match). It should have been noted on the hold that I was price matching it and how much i'm matching it for. An unfortunate situation that could have been handled better by both employees.

Absolute GARBAGE Service. I took my cheap disposable camera to Henry’s that only holds up to 22 photos. Not only did they mention it would take up to 3 weeks to have them printed, but now it’s been about a month and still not one phone call to let me know what’s going on. At least have the right decency to let your customers know whats happening even if your backed up or whatever the case may be. And the older gentleman that usually works most days at the counter is very rude, and I found that he wasn’t willing to help me in my situation what SO EVER. I have been shopping at Henrys St.Catharines since 2004 and have always found their staff to be super helpful and knowledgeable. They take their time with every customer and make sure to answer all your questions and even let you try out equipment in store to make sure you are comfortable with it. Steve has been my go to person for all things Nikon the last few years and he really knows his stuff. Not only is he super helpful at answering questions but he has real world experience with the equipment and tells you the pros and cons from the perspective of someone who’s actually used it and that makes a big difference to a sports photographer like myself. Before I make any purchase he always asks me what I am using it for and tells me what my options are and the pros and cons of each so I can make a more informed decision which has saved me from going home to look up reviews on-line, and I always walk out feeling like I’ve made the right choice. It’s not always about the upsale or pushing what they have on the store shelves either, if they don’t have it, they are always glad to order it in and most items come in within a few days. One thing I have found that sets ALL of the staff at Henrys St.Catharines apart from other stores is how they remember you the next time you come in the store and ask how your shooting has been going and how your last purchase has been working out (even if it was several months ago). It really means a lot when they remember you and it makes you feel confident in knowing there is always someone you can go back to if you have any questions or concerns. That is something you definitely won’t get on-line or from other retailers that don’t have the same staff on. Having the same knowledgeable staff you can go back to with questions or concerns who actually remember you and check up to see how your purchase has been working out and have experience themselves makes a world of a difference and that’s why I will always be a return customer to Henrys St.Catharines and recommend them to all of my friends. I went here with my business partner over the weekend. The place looked nice from the outside but we weren't able to come in. They were suppose to be open but instead was doing inventory. I made a mistake and called a store in London instead of the one in Windsor. I thought I had called the Windsor store to see if a camera was in stock. I was told yes, one new one in the box. Needless to say, I went to Windsor to pick up the camera but they only had a demo unit in the showcase. I mistakenly thought that this business was doing something underhanded however, they did not. My biggest issue was that I made at least 4 requests for the salesman to call Ted there but he did not answer my request at all until the last request where he said that the store Manager/owner? didn't have a phone. The whole confusion could have been resolved right then and there. Too bad as Ted called me 2 days later and apologized for the confusion despite it being my fault. Kudo's to Ted for offering to make things right despite it being my fault entirely. Unfortunately, we purchased the same camera elsewhere and they lost the sale as a result. Had the salesman called Ted when I requested, we could have resolved this with a win/win for everyone. Perhaps Ted can instruct his salesmen to call him if things like this happen again. Ted was outstanding in handling this and I recommend Henry's in Windsor as a business with integrity.

One of the best locations for photography and videography related items in Scarborough. The only other option for this type of equipment is Best Buy and their variety is very minimal. The staff are very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. They always take their time and explain the equipment, the options available and advice appropriately. The only issue (and not really an issue when you take in as a whole) is that the trade in values are not as high as they could be for used equipment. Definitely highly recommended and will be coming back for sure (as I have been for the past 8 years or so).

It's amazing that in this day and age, there are still enough people afraid of online shopping to keep this place in business. Occasionally, they'll match Amazon.ca's price, but in most cases, you're better off ordering your equipment from any of the reputable retailers in the US, even with the exchange rate, shipping, and HST. But let's not forget, the place is also a makeshift social club, where shutterbugs congregate to chat about the latest telephoto zoom they bought or whatnot. I know, holding all this inventory costs money. But unless you're a professional having some lens or tripod related emergency, I can't see anything that would justify paying those prices. Even their "special deals" are still more expensive than the regular prices at major online retailers. On the plus side, there's ample parking, and some lovely restaurants around.

Very nice staff they're very educated in what they're selling and will give tutorials on whatever camera or item they have. don't be afraid to ask about any piece of gear. If you are not sure what camera to obtain they will help you with your purchase. Overall Henry's has friendly staff would definitely recommend this store for photographers alike.

We had a great experience at Henry's. After an initial mishap with ordering large photo prints, they went above and beyond to help us sort out the issue and get the prints (re: three aluminum 20x30 photo panels, so not your normal paper prints) that we wanted. Andrew was extremely helpful throughout the whole process, working with us to figure out what exactly we needed to do and was so accommodating to the situation. He also contacted the print center to talk to them about what had happened and help expedite our new order along. Mark was also very kind and helpful. Dare I say, the initial mishap was worth it simply because we experienced such great great customer service; it made me confident in our decision to get our photos printed there. We definitely recommend Henry's for your printing needs and will be going back to get more printing done.

I live in Scarborough and for the past decade, I have purchased 3 cameras from Henry's and a bunch of lenses from this location, no problem. Back then, I'd give this place a 4.5 star. Now, depending on the time of day you could get really good customer service or really bad customer service. Sometimes I will walk into Henry's Scarborough and I know they they are busy. This year, I walked into Henry's Scarborough THREE TIMES hoping to get information on camera accessories for my camera. Because the accessories that i'm thinking of purchasing are pricey, I'd want to talk to someone knowledgeable to ensure that I'm purchasing the correct items for my camera. On my 1st visit in August, I went to purchase a camera, the Sales Associate had absolutely no idea what he was talking about, so I left and bought my camera at a different location (Henry's Thornhill). On my 2nd visit in September, I asked a Sales Associate about camera filters and holder options and I got the impression that he didn't want to help and he seemed a bit cocky and talked down to me, so I decided not purchase anything from him. On the 3rd visit in December, I decided to give it another shot (3rd times the charm, right?). There were 5 Associates on the floor, I looked at each one of them in the eye and neither of them said a word to me. I hung out for 10 minutes and then left. A simple "Hello, sorry, i'm with this customer right now, I will be with you shortly" would have been much appreciated. Because I feel the customer service has gone down significantly, I will no longer be shopping at this location. Instead, I will travel to Henry's Thornhill at Yonge and Steeles as they will definitely greet you even if they are with a customer and Sales Associates there are very knowledge.

The staff was friendly but I felt like I knew more about the product I was buying than they did. The prices are good for the items I bought, as I did shop around, but other things are cheaper next door at London Drugs. The selection of larger camera bags is limited. They have lots of smaller sling bags, but only had 3 of the 6 larger bags I wanted to try. One of the items I bought showed up as in stock online but wasn't there the first time I checked. I went back a few days later and it was stocked that morning and only one, so now they are out again.

I have lived in St. Catherines all my life and while I have seen the bright orange sign many times, I didn't know what Henry's was until today. I have been scouring the city for a tripod - tablet adapter and they're like unicorns, but today I captured one! It's not very often that you get greeted by smiling employees this close to Christmas but that is exactly what happened. The staff were friendly and very helpful. And bonus! I got coupons for free photos! Definitely worth making it your first stop for all of your photo video and digital media needs! Very happy customer!

The Windsor Store is FANTASTICLY helpful. I had a special event I was to be the archival photographer, taking pictures at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Ted K. the manager was very helpful. After telling him what I had to deal with at Carnegie hall he suggested I purchase a Nikon D7100 Body to replace my older D80. He also recommended I rent an 85MM 1.4 Nikon lens. Ted also went out of his way to instruct me on the finer points of the new camera body and how I should shoot manual mode not automatic. To top it all off. The day before I was to fly to New York I was so busy I was not able to get to the store to pick-up the rental lens before it closed. Ted went out of his way to meet me at the store, so I could pick-up the lens. Thanks to the world class service I received at Henry's Windsor I have priceless pictures of my son playing piano on stage at Carnegie Hall.

I have been going to Henry's ever since they cropped up in BC. I went to the one in Langley first before it was unfortunately shut down due to covid. The one in Vancouver does have a ton of options and a bunch of knowledgeable quote who know what they're talking about. One in particular is Marley. Not only does this guy know his stuff, but he's also a pleasure to talk to when it comes to talking shop. I always enjoy going by the store and just seeing what's new and talking with the staff about different gear and tech. If there is a way, I buy my gear from them over Kerrisdale everytime because they are better priced, and even Amazon unless I absolutely have to because I want to support a Canadian store.

This is the worst return camera prices in town, but they do tell you exactly that when you come in. Went in yesterday to browse their sales and used section. I was looking for a small zoom lens for travel since I mostly deal with primes. I was there for approximately 25 minutes and no one acknowledged my existence. No one asked if I needed any assistance or even said "hello." When I saw the item that I was interested in and waited around at the counter for someone to say something - and after several minutes nothing - I decided that I did not want to bother waiting any longer. Unfortunately, this is why ordering online is preferable for many. Hopefully their online store is more attentive.

Checked the website and said the item was available in store. I also did a reservation for pickup as well thinking it would be quick service like Bestbuy. Decided we should go to the store and see it first hand for fit and feel. I did try to call the store ahead of time about 4 times with no answer but decided not to leave a message on their general voicemail. Arrived about one hour before closing, greeted upon entry. The store was empty with only 3 customers. We headed to the backpack section to browse and a salesperson came over, looked but decided to help a different customer in the same section. He walked back to the counter and I proceeded to ask for help. I told the salesperson the bag I was looking for and only then proceed to provide assistance. The salesperson couldn't find the bag in question on the rack and said it might be in the storage area. The salesperson went in search for it because inventory on the store computer said it was there. They did make two attempts at trying to find it. Finally I was offered to have it ordered in. We went through the whole process of ordering on the store computer, but I identified it was my first time here. I stated I want to pay for it now and wait for the confirmation for pickup. Also I had a better price from the competitor which I showed on my phone the website plus price. Sadly, price matching happens at the time of purchase so when the bag arrives in 7 business days the sale could be over. Hence the reason why I wanted to purchase at this moment. Salesperson only put notes "price match". The whole customer experience is uninviting for someone ready to spend $300+ on a camera bag - we did strike up a conversation on what I intended use of the bag. As a salesperson or CSR, it's pretty clear that equipment purchases are of high value. One would think to try and capture this customer for future purchases with Henry's being a boutique camera shop. Lastly while waiting I browsed the drone section which is lacking, but the GoPro section was massive. I'm sure this store will do great based on the location but there is room for improvement in all CSR and SALES areas, which other stores and competitors already have. In closing, I'm still waiting for a confirmation email whether or not the backpack is in-stock or not or even ready for pickup. Update 1: I guess someone at Henry's saw my review about the customer service I had. The person on the phone did attempt to apologize for the concern. I was told they would process the price match and my bag is already shipping from the warehouse and I would get a call on the following MON when it arrives. They want further the discount but it's not the point I was trying to make. I just wanted the bag to arrive and have it price match per their conditions. Update 2: Still waiting for a phone call or follow up when the bag is going to be ready for pickup. Update 3: The bag finally arrived after waiting over two weeks. New issue, wrong bag size. I requested for the 450aw, and the bag which came in was the 350aw, confirmed twice. I'm so done with trying, purchased bag elsewhere. There was never an email which came 24 hours later, I'm still waiting for the email confirmation.

Paul was the one who welcome me, and he helped me out for all of my questions. I were 100% happy with the lens and his services. We are regulars of this Henry since our team launched their photography unit, we've purchased a new camera and a ton of equipment with Sumit. Came in today to get a ring light for myself and had the worst customer service experience. Ethan was rude and had terrible customer service. I was unsure if I wanted to purchase a 12inch or 18inch ring light and when I decided to purchase a 12inch to try it out and exchange for an 18inch if it wasn't what I was looking for he told us to "grow up" and just get the 18inch. Not really sure what the point of that comment was nor what relevancy it had to my purchase. Probably the worst Henry's ever. The majority of time no one helps you. I went today just before 2pm and stood in the store for 10 minutes and no one helped me. I knew exactly what I needed and stood by the area where items I wanted to purchase (behind counter) and no one helped. To be fair there were only 2 workers and both were with customers. One lady I can forgive as she was on the other side of the store but there was one sales guy with 2 customers just chatting. I was right in front of him and made more than once eye contact with the sales guy to indicate I'm ready and, the sales guy continued to talk to the two customers with him and didn't bother coming to help me. I ended up walking out because I wasn't able to get any help.

They told me they can't do anythign unless I pay $400 more OR told me to "upgrade". Lesson learned: Henry's HELP warranty/repair service is a fraud, and Joe's repair shop has no accountability. You can tell the staff really love photography and they are knowledgable. When discussing options I didn’t feel like I was being up-sold and was spoken to honestly about cheaper diy alternatives to certain gear. Also, Henry’s actually has fair pricing on most products, I couldn’t find a cheaper Godox strobe online. I’m usually allergic to writing reviews but this had to be said, will definitely be coming back.

I walked in ready to buy a lens for my camera, but they talked me out of it. Unlikely other stores who would take advantage of you and sell you things you don’t need, they gave me an honest opinion and told me that I don’t actually need a new lens, that it wouldn’t make much difference in my pictures. Great store for camera gear with plenty of options. I find it valuable to get expert opinions from staff and price matching is always good. I docked a star because I got some hassle from management about price matching the same lens on Amazon, I forget their reason, but it had to do with the seller not being an authorised company or something like that. I spend 1 hour driving to get there and the doors were closed in front of my face - that day without posting info on their website they scheduled some inventory work. I made a second order and they promised me whenever the lens come they will honour the price which they did. The lens came in like after 2 months or so and once it was here they called me and I exchanged my Canon 16-35 f2.8 L ii for a very good price which saved me an extra $$$ plus tax. very professional crew and I had a very positive experience despite COVID and everything. Their equipment selection is very complete— among the best I’ve seen in Vancouver. Unfortunately, I’ve had two disappointing experiences, both failures to honour quoted prices. About two years ago I came in to buy a 64GB card for my Sony a6300. I was quoted the list price— twice— until I pulled out Henry’s newspaper ad that listed it at half price. With a sheepish grin, the salesperson honoured the advertised price. My second experience was more concerning. I was quoted a $200 saving on a Sony A7iii body, (plus a very pricey Zeiss lens). (We’re talking several thousand $$.) I left, saying I wanted to consider it. When I returned a few days later, I was told for the first time that the $200 discount was a Sony factory offer, and was no longer available. I took that as another bait-and-switch. So I bought the gear from another shop.

On top of not delivering the service they advertise, they do not respond to emails. all you get is automated "we are busier than usual". Went in today to get passport photos for my 4 week old baby. They have a really great way to take these photos of young babies that don’t have neck control yet. They can move the white background onto the floor and then your baby can lay on the background instead of trying to hold up their head (and not have your hand or arm in the photo). Unfortunately my little one was not cooperating, but Toby (who helped me) was amazing! He was super patient with me trying to get my little one to look at the camera. I was really impressed with Toby’s professionalism and he didn’t make me feel rushed or that I was a bother. I was really happy and will be back in a couple of weeks when my little one is a bit older and see if it goes better! Thanks!

I was extremely pleased with the service I received at Henry’s - Scarborough store. I went looking for some advice as I wanted to purchase a new DSLR camera. I had purchased items from Mr. Sumit Pandey before and remembered him to be patient and knowledgeable. On this visit, he was very helpful and attentive. He listened to my needs and helped me to select the best camera for my purposes. I left the store feeling confident that I had made the right purchase. Unfortunately I soon discovered that there was a problem with my camera and that I would have to return to the store for support. I wasn’t sure what reception I would receive as I was not going in as a potential customer on this visit. I’d had experiences in other stores, not Henry’s, that led me to conclude that you don’t always get the same friendly service when you’re going in with a problem as when you’re a potential customer. Fortunately I was treated with the same courtesy as I had been on previous visits. Mr. Sumit Pandey was very understanding and took the time to help me resolve my problem efficiently and effectively. I am very happy with the initial advice and follow-up support that I received from both Mr. Sumit Pandey and the management at Henry’s and I believe I’m fortunate that I did not purchase a DSLR on line as I highly doubt that my problem would have been resolved so expeditiously.

My experiences have always been good as I try to talk to Summit who goes over and above to be helpful. I know other posters have had negative experiences with the store but if you get the right people and you don't expect everyone to drop what they're doing just for you then it will be fine. If there are 3 sales staff all serving customers you have to expect to wait. If you were being served you would not want to be dropped as your sales staff runs off to the next client who walked in the door. On my last visit to the Scarborough store all the staff were friendly and gave me the time I needed to check out the floor before helping me.

Honestly, this was a very disappointing experience. I went here rather than buying from Amazon or Best Buy, because I thought I would get better customer service at a store specializing in cameras. I waited 20 minutes without being approached, before I was able to ask an employee for help. I shared what I was looking for, and the employee showed me a few products, but only really knew the one camera they used and didn't share any product information. I couldn't try the cameras I was interested in, because none had batteries. I was then abandoned by the employee, and almost left, before another employee came and helped. They, too, only knew the camera they used, and couldn't share any helpful information to compare models. I found a camera bag with a sale sticker, but they said the sale was over, because there was a date on the sticker?? Please take the sale stickers off, then. Another employee who seemed to be the manager was on his phone the entire time. Overall, lack of product knowledge, lack of customer service, and lack of professionalism. I ended up buying a camera, but feel like I would have been better off going to Best Buy.

I purposely chose Henry's to buy our daughter's camera, camera bag and lens as the staff in the Vancouver store had been so helpful. I wish I had known just how difficult it would be to deal with the online portion of this company. We bought the items in the Black Friday sale. When we purchased them at no point did the site say that anything was out of stock. Once purchased, we received notification that the lens was out of stock but the other items would be shipped. Then we waited and waited and waited. The parcel took 13 days to make it to Mississauga and then the tracking just disappeared as Canada Post could not say when it would ever arrive. When I called the helpline, the unhelpful assistant told me that no only was the lens out of stock but they had no idea when would ever be back in stock and they had no idea where our parcel was. Given the very public press about how bad Canada Post has been during this pandemic (and noticing that other companies had switched to private courier companies to tackle this), I am disappointed that Henry's used Canada Post to ship out items and then take no responsibility for this decision. The parcel eventually showed up on January 6, almost 6 weeks after the purchase and definitely too late for our Christmas surprise. We decided to cancel the purchase of the lens. After 15 tries to actually reach someone on the phone (after leaving voicemails and no one calling us back), we finally got through to cancel the lens. We STILL have not received a refund. When I look at the Henry's site today, it says that lens is in stock which is just a lie. No company should be able to say that to lure in customers only to then be told that the item is not in stock and make getting a refund so difficult. This level of customer service is just not good enough. Needless to say, I will NEVER use Henry's again. The one star for this review is for the Vancouver store staff and the fact that I cannot post this without clicking something.

i really loved this store. I bought my wife's Sony camera from them. The store was clean and neat. They have wide selection of cameras and accessories and knowledgeable staff. Not a good buying experience. Went in to buy a camera and lens, sales associate seemed pushy to sell their 'in-store' warranty (I get why) but I was clearly not interested. After clearly stating so - the sales person began using scare tactics and horror stories of their own camera not working and kept on pushing it. I also purchased a lens and was then told I needed an adapter to update the lens (which was not true after the fact as I bought the same lens down street from their competitor). All this happened after I was trying to get the attention of a sales person after quite some time with the clear intention to purchase. I prefer their competitor down the street - no up-sell, no scarcity gimmicks; just gear and straight to the point.

BEWARE, this Henrys store sells, stuff as BRAND NEW that are taken off the box and shown to potential customers many times. The boxes are damaged and so is the packaging and the equipment have passed so many hands, and does not look new anymore. Even used items and open box items from other Camera stores look better than Henry's brand new items. Recently I purchased a Godox flash head from Scarborough Henry's and the box was severely damaged. When I inquired the sales rep said Godox packaging is not strong and they break easily, however the unit is brand new.He said he will mention the damage of the box in the receipt,and he never did. I subsequently had to return it, because I bought this unit expecting to buy the GODOX AD600 open box item, that I requested Henry's Dundas to hold till the weekend. When I went to buy it on Saturday, they said they cannot honour the sale price unless I buy their warranty. I was forced to buy their warranty to get the sale price of $659. However after coming home I realized USA stores had the unit much cheaper and a 3 year warranty was included. When I went to return it to Dundas store, they refused to accept the GODOX FLASH HEAD I purchased from Scarborough Henry's saying I damaged the box and they have to charge me a restocking fee. After a lot of explaining, they finally said as a favour they will accept it for a full refund. All this hassle just because Henry's Scarborough sells open items and items that have been shown many times to potential customers as " BRAND NEW" Once I mentioned this to their store manager on a previous occasion where they sold me a open box Flash as Brand New, and the Manager said that HE HAS NO PROBLEM SELLING PRODUCTS AS BRAND NEW EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE PREVIOUSLY OPENED AND SHOWN TO OTHER CUSTOMERS. This is a shame. I have shopped with Henry's for over 15 years, and have spent many $$$$'s and made friends with many of their sales folks who have now retired. Henry's new attitude had made me shop for my photo equipment elsewhere.

Henry's Vancouver is great and here are my reasons why... 1. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful: - They (Ernest, Yann, Steve, Sam, Jordie, Zak and Jarod ) didn't mind me asking tons of questions and calling, visiting and testing the demo products at their store before pulling the trigger. Yes, they all helped me during my research period. I tested the xt3, gh5, eos r, 5d iv and the a7iii at their store over several days and for several hours and they didn't make me feel like a leper for taking up so much of their time. Thank you! - The staff (Yann) lent me his own A7iii to test at the store as there was no demo model in the store!!! I wouldn't have bought the camera without his enthusiastic and genuine willingness to help me understand the product more. - The staff (Yann) let me use his computer to look at the photos and videos he took himself to help me see the performance of the equipment out in the field. - The staff (Sam, Ernest and specially Yann) let me take their pictures!!! I really appreciate this as this can let me see for myself what the pictures will be like and they didn't make me feel bad for taking their pictures, Yann was even posing for them and giving me his best Zoolander smoldering looks (Ha ha). At other camera stores, the staff kinda make me feel awkward when I take their pictures and even asks me to delete the photos or just completely not to take their photos. I understand why and do not hold any ill feeling about this but this is why I appreciate Ernest, Sam and Yan's service a whole lot more. I was particularly worried about the greenish skin on A7iii that is why it was important for me to do this test. I was also worried that the A7iii wouldn't hold up against the canon color science. - Ernest helped man the camera to take a few videos of my puppet so I can see the focus system at work for the XT3, GH5 and the 5DIV. - Yann installed my screen protector for me as well even though he was already off duty! He insisted to complete this task before going home to a well deserved rest. - Zak and Ernest helped me set up my camera to work with my gimbal in a more fluid manner which will practically save me so much set up time! LOVE IT! - The store has lots of cameras that I can test drive. NEGATIVE: 1. Have to pay for parking =( 2. Yann sold lots of the lenses I wanted to try out, so I have to wait a little longer before I can test drive those lenses =\ Thank you once more =)

Totally exceeded my expectations!! For about 6 months I have owned a Sony a7iii. It has performed extremely well, especially the auto-focus. I recently installed the latest firmware update. The result was that the camera would no longer auto-focus using any of my e-mount lenses. After making some phone calls I learned that Henry's was the place to go - even this is a new store in Vancouver and was not here when I bought the a7iii. Yann fixed the problem. The camera now works even better than it did before I installed the update. Yann was very professional and courteous. He told me that it is just like computers. Once in a blue moon the camera must be reset and initiated after an update. This is a very rare situation but Yann diagnosed the problem and brought the autofocus back to life. Don't sell your old material at Henry's!!! They will try to get it for almost nothing. The guy wanted to buy a 70-200 canon lens for 15$ ( no scratches and I managed to clean it myself) 5D canon box for 180$. What a joke! Everything is also very expensive compared to other shops. Especially second hand stuff!!

Called this location and offered to pick up my camera as I never received any communication (3 days after making a purchase online). The women who took my call was rude and didn't even give me a chance or offer any assistance. It's been over a week since making my purchase (Christmas gift) and I still haven't received any shipping notifications. I want to give this store a better rating but the absence of customer service, and lack of knowledgeable reps prevents me from doing so. Inquired about gimbals, the rep knew virtually nothing about them. I had a malfunction with my camera, and even though I purchased their extended warranty the best they could do was send it to the manufacture to be fixed. If you wanting to just purchase camera items and gear this place is fine. If you desire quality customer service and knowledgeable/helpful reps, I would highly recommend going somewhere else.

I enjoy going to this store it has a nice big layout so you can browse around and not feel pressured and has a fairly large selection of gear. The staff are not overly aggressive so if your not in the mood for their assistance you won't get bombarded by every staff in the store. Although if you do need assistance in my experiece I have been politely offered help by a staff member in most of my visits.

I avoid this location after a few unpleasant visits. Bought a lens - i was already set on it and they didn't have to try to sell it to me. Sales associate was very charming but stopped once I made it clear I did not want their protection plan and made a passive aggressive comment about how he barely makes any commission from selling the plan. I know it's sales, but I do not like fake people. The manager at the Markham location is much nicer. I was having some AF problems and decided to exchange the lens for another copy. Tried a different associate because I wanted to avoid the first one. When asked why I wanted to exchange it and what I might consider an alternative he was very condescending and basically dismissed my reasons. Yes, i have done research. I have tried the lens and I don't like it. Yes, I would appreciate your advice and opinion but don't treat me like I'm stupid. From just listening during my visits the reps seem a lot friendlier with people who are new with little knowledge who are ready to spend lots of money on their first full kit purchase and willing to take whatever is recommended (protection plans included perhaps) - pretty easy to do with mirrorless cameras and lenses being quite expensive currently compared to the traditional entry level SLRs. funnily enough when I decided I didn't want the lens in the end I approached a female associate for the return and while she wasn't friendly or anything she was very professional and I was in and out with no problems. Much preferred over the other two associates. I'm still looking for a new lens but i won't be coming here to find it.

Excellent knowledge. Very friendly staff. Give you a lot of time in helping you make your purchase. I started using them 4 years ago and continue to this day. I ask for Shauna when I am there. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. I was recently on an expedition trip to Antarctica with professional photographers. Their advice to me was to purchase from the local stores that spend hours helping me out as well as letting me try out new lenses. The internet stores don't spend any time with you and have nothing invested to make a sale. In the end Henry's give me the best value because of the time, knowledge and help they provide. The cheapest price is often not the best value. Go to Henry's Scarborough, ask for Shauna and judge for yourself.

Henry's was referred to me and so I went to the webiste and was impressed by the the number of excellent reviews- primarily around service. Well- I experienced it myself today. I had a relatively minor issue that was resolved within minutes. The young man, Graham, was very helpful, friendly and the whole atmosphere of the store was really upbeat.

I had a very bad experience with Henry's with their 3 Year Help Extended Warranty Plan! aside from bad customer service! They always say "I understand you" BUT they didn't really, they only think of how to make money. Don't ever try to believe their HeLP Life Plan 3 year Warranty. Very misleading in what they stated in Letter L. Terms and Conditions!. When they sell to you, they will always say "buy this 3 year warranty, after 2 repairs we will exchange a new one, no questions asked!". You will always hear these words from whoever sales rep. Their 3 year warranty plan will still give you headaches!they will give you a HARD time! will not replace your camera with a new one after 2 repairs! It will be assess first by a technician. Another 4 to 8 weeks of waiting. if the result of the assessment is okay, no replacement. Why we bring it back on the 3rd time, just to complain for nothing?? I will not recommend Henry's to you. Don't stress yourself out! Ok, here's my story. Me and my husband went to this store to browse (not planning to buy)some waterproof camera last Oct. 22, 2013. We are going for a vacation on Dec. 16th, back on Jan. 22nd, 2014.. We are aware of the 90 days exchange defects. Counted the days, it's exactly 3 months. But the salesperson, Tim convinced us to buy, just wants to make sales I guess. We bought the Olympus Tough camera. We told him if there's a problem, we might be returning it after 90 days. He said it's okay, he will find ways to replace it, if we return it right away. He MAKE US BELIEVED we can exchange it if there's a problem. Fast Forward, just a week after our vacation, last week of January 2014, went back to Henry's, our OlympusTough dial button fell down & bubbles came out in the lens. We asked for a new replacement. They will not replace it since 90 days, is done! what? Tim doesn't offer help or even smile in the counter. Ok fine, we have it repaired. The camera back in our hands after 4 weeks. We went for a vacation last April 2015 in Mexico, same problem:button fell off and bubbles came out in the lens, pictures not sharp like it used to..had it repaired last week of May. I had my cam back last June, now there's a problem again, it's getting worst, bubbles came out in the shutter button & in the lens and water build up in the lens,pictures, not good.. Last June I spoke with the Asst Mgr Peter, he told me, if you're not happy with it, return it back right away. So I return it back today because of the problems I mentioned. In my mind, they will replace me with a new one, no questions asked since this is the 3rd time. But when I get there today. Peter told me that the camera need to be assessed, will send it back to Olympus, their technician should be the one to tell if there's a problem. So that means he didn't believe my complaints! I told him to test it in the sink,for sure there's a sink in the store, he can dip it with water, bubbles will come out, water build up around the lens. Common sense will tell you if there's problems. I even read to him the terms and conditions of their Help Warranty that Letter L. there's no word "ASSESSMENT". it stated:'..PRODUCT REQUIRES REPAIR MORE THAN TWICE FOR ANY PROBLEM, IT WILL EXCHANGED FOR A COMPARABLE MODEL". I bought many 3 HELP warranty at Henry's Scarborough, NOBODY EVER TOLD ME, AFTER 2 REPAIRS, THE 3RD TIME WILL BE ASSESSED FIRST BEFORE EXCHANGING IT!. So, Beware for this terms and conditions of Henry's. It's misleading!. Peter offer me solution,that I will buy a new camera. If there's no probs with Olympus after assessment (why will I complain if there's no problem?), I will return the new camera intack! I am using it this weekend, you can never tell what will happen. I might end up buying that new camera! and had my old one! Trick again?Thrice now!?! After I spent more than 5kCAD$ in this store, being loyal to them (customer since2007). They gave me this kind of cust service?!! Not to mention the stress & hassle going back & forth to the store,etc.I will not recommend this store to anyone! Don't trust Henry's ever!

Came in to trade my dslr we bought from henrys years ago for a new bridge camera. Sales person looked up my used camera and lenses said its worth nothing cause the computer stated $0.00. Didnt even want to try to offer anything for the camera or even have it appraised. Then didnt offer to show me any new cameras and when the phone rang, answered it and ignored me. Lost a sale!

They put a lot of efforts into the layout of the store! I liked how its spacious room looked with lots of cool gears on display. I didn't like the service I received however. Their level of customer service was on par with that of typical fast-food chains, rushed and unprofessional. Maybe I came in at the wrong time. It was after dealing with London Drugs employees who are almost always excellent, so it made the representative look even more childish. I'd visit the store again if they have things I want on sale, but I doubt I'd be a loyal customer.

Poor, poor customer service!!! I went there with my wife last night to look for a DSLR. There were 4 people working there at the moment, 3 of them with customers and 1 was at the POS machine. We waited for about 10 to 15 minutes and nobody said or intended to say anything to us. And the girl at the POS walked by us like we were never there. Disappointed even more when we heard the girl not with a customer told us she was not in sales. Will never buy from them.
