Terrible development service, extremely expensive. Father retired I think and the son has taken over the business and he doesn't provide the quality service for film development that his father used to. This place will not last long in my opinion.

I have been in a few times - twice recently to get my new 5D Mark IV, and the new Canon flash. Both pieces are pristine as expected but it's nice to see the boxes are obviously not manhandled haphazardly. The gentleman I saw (I assume owner?) was very helpful and friendly. He has held both items for me so I don't have to worry about someone buying before I make it in. I have never had a bad experience in here and have always learned something before walking out. Thank you for being a professionals best friend! Haha.

I went here to Simply develop a few pictures which turned into a headache. I sat down and the person working there came over and showed me how to access the website and she's my photos. After spending about 15-20 minutes picking my photos there was many errors and then he tells me that the machine doesn't work properly because there had been a virus on it. What?! Like why would you set me up on there and let me waste my time. If the machine doesn't work. Also am I going to have virus on my phone now? I am so unimpressed with us service you shouldn't be open if you can't be able to develop pictures at the photo store

WOW!!!! This place well deserves the five stars. Not only was my 35mm colour film ready to be picked up in 2-3 days (much faster than the 3 week wait time at shoppers!) it also came out AMAZING quality!! never before have I had the beautiful warm tones and exposure colours like this. I’ve truly fell in love with 35mm again, thank you Peterborough Photo!! (some of my favourite photos are attached, all shot on kodak rolls and point and shoot cameras from thrift stores)

Just found this store today. I needed pictures printed out today asap. They were super friendly and helpful. Printed all my photos within an hour . The quality is great and cheaper then Walmart. Awesome experience. We'll definitely be back

As a photographer, and someone who works in the photo lab industry in Toronto, I have to say this is the absolute best quality printing you can get in Peterborough, and best prices for what you pay for. You might be able to find something cheaper at Staples, or maybe Walmart but it definitely won't last nearly as long as the Fuji crystal archive paper they use or even look comparable to the crappy inkjet printers you'll find elsewhere. You have to pay double in Toronto to get the same quality that this local gem provides! (+1 for being a rad local buissness so you can support the community). The staff are also super friendly, speedy and willing to help ya out with anything and are super informative. The turnaround times are also up to par -- was ordering prints at noon on Christmas Eve and was able to get them within the hour!! Overall 5 Stars. If I wasn't already working in a lab I would print all my photographic work here exclusively.

I definitely have to disagree with Trevor's review. I think the store has flourished under the ownership of the son. Every encounter I have had with someone who has been in the store is always positive. I definitely see this business lasting a long time as there are always quite a few customers when I go in. Film processing is reasonably priced, and excellent quality. I find it impressive that even though they are the only ones who process film in a reasonable time frame, they are still very competitive on pricing. Same holds true for passport photos. All the way around a great store! Customer service is impressive!

It's hard to find someone to develop film anymore, and I was pleased to find out that Peterborough Photo still did. It was worth the 40 minute drive I thought, to support one of the last shops still processing film on site. About 6 weeks ago, I brought 2 rolls of 35mm film. One was a found roll, that came in a Retinette Camera, I had recently purchased, and the other from one of my regular cameras. I didnt expect much from the Retinette film, and I was right, it yielded no images. The other roll turned out fine. Now here is where the disappointment arises. I received both sets of negatives, uncut and inside the same film cannister. I have had hundreds of rolls of film developed, and this is the first time, anybody had ever pulled something like this. A week ago, I brought a roll of 120 film. I told the very nice lady at your store what happened, and she agreed that my previous experience was unacceptable. Today I picked up my negatives from another very nice young woman. I had brought a USB drive for her to load the scans on. She proceded to cut the negatives without gloves on. I left while she finished the scans. When i came back to pick up my order, I found my metal 120 reel, and USB drive all in the same envelope, with my unprotected negatives. I am not blaming the kid, but she has received shoddy training. Sadly from now on, I will be sending my film to be developed online.

Wow, this place will remind you why it's great to shop locally. I went in to find a present for my son. Martha patiently and expertly went through all the options with me. Also did a quick online comparison to make sure I was getting the best deal. I will definitely be going back! Thank you! BTW - my son loved the gift!

Jason is a working photographer. He and the staff know the products well, but I can't give five stars because in some cases his pricing is way out of whack with what are common rates. It pays to shop around. A plus is that they do process film.

Was looking for a camera, and I am so greatful for the people who own this store. There are not many places now a days were they will take the time and ask you what your needs are, and what you will be using the camera for. Show you cameras that will be good for you, not to mention take the time to show you how to work it. This is why we need to shop local, and not the big box stores. What a great experience, highly recommend this store.

Bought an expensive camera plus lenses here. At the time their prices were on par with other retailers and the staff was friendly enough, but when it came time to sell or trade my camera they did not want to work with me. Because of that I can't give them a 5 star rating. The next time I need a camera I'll just go to Henry's. At least they are willing to work with you there.

Very nice saleswoman, very helpful, but the price of camera film is insane. I know this is a small business and I have taken that into account, but I cannot excuse the cost. There are many independent retailers who charge reasonable prices. Downtown Camera in Toronto is a much better choice.

I was in this store today for a passport and was told it couldn’t be done as there was a huge number of portraits being done. I totally understood and won’t mind going back as I never leave things for the last minute and expect someone to accommodate my faults. There was a person there who wasn’t happy. I must say that if people wouldn’t leave things for the last minute they wouldn’t be disappointed. This business has helped our family find the best camera for us, they even price matched with a large retailer in the Toronto area and they spend all the time needed for us to understand how the camera works. They offer support continually. Do the best developing and have accommodated us promptly when we had a request for some pictures to be reprinted for a family funeral. I have heard they go out of their way to stay late for customers also. I highly recommend them. This is a family business who have served PETERBOROUGH very well. Small retailer with GREAT customer service and dedication. I’d rather go here than to some big box store.
