One of the best labs in the city! I don't know why there are so many negative reviews for this location. I have processed over 60 rolls of colour film here and have never had an issue. Their prints are beautiful as well! The staff is kind and hard working. No negatives.

Chris told me 30 minutes and called and left a voicemail to let me know it was done at the 30th minute.... these guys are efficient and know what they’re doing. I HIGHLY reccomend this place for your photos Shoppers messed up our passport photos for our 2 month old baby, and we had to retake them. Sooters only took around 5 min compared to shoppers 20min. Highly satisfied. Also they know the passport office requirement very well.

Do NOT NOT NOT use this service. 24 hours after they took my films to be transfered, they called me back and RAISED THE PRICE BY 20% above the quote and it was too late to get them back. Just picked them up and they are not colour corrected, so am having to do it myself. They also told me it would take longer than they quoted and they would call me when they were finished. Never got a call. Dropped in to check and the "woman" at the counter was upset at me for being upset because they had been sitting there for 2 weeks. AVOID THIS BUSINESS!

I simply wanted to get some photo's of my son developed to hang on my cubicle wall. I entered Sooters as it's close to my work, I plug in my phone and start looking through my pictures selecting which ones I wanted to have printed up and some jackass comes from behind the counter telling me that my phone won't work on his machine and genuinely upset I was trying to use said device to print up pictures, and then went on some rant about how he can't afford the software and where do I think I am. I then just said ok and unplugged my phone (what's funny is I had about 12 photo's already selected ready to be printed). Then he told me the he supposes I could email it to him, but I told him I'd just go somewhere else, then rather heatedly he told me "Perfect, take your business somewhere else". To which I commended him on his excellent customer service. So I went to Black's, paid way less than what I would have paid there and had my photo's developed by extremely pleasant staff. Avoid Sooters, it's a garbage dump that treats clients like garbage. Pay less somewhere else and get way friendlier service.

Entry not as advertised. Pictures are sold in sets of two, customer service is spot on; this is the place to go if your country is giving you a challenge to get out passport pictures or citizenship pictures on their terms only.

It is in these offices that we were given the card of this professional Sooter located at a street corner. Arrived in the store, first bad surprise: the prices of simple identity photos are exorbitant. I had never paid so much by far. When you need to take pictures for a family it represents a considerable expense and such a high price is not justified. They take advantage of their privileged location and be a little in cahoots with the offices of the administration which claims many for nothing. But the worst part is that I had to redo my photos because they were ultimately refused by the administration ... Otherwise the welcome is courteous and pleasant from the staff. (Original) On nous demande dans les bureaux de l'administration sur la même rue des photos d'identité alors qu'on en a déjà donné plusieurs pour notre dossier de carte de résident. C'est dans ces bureaux qu'on nous a remis la carte de ce professionnel Sooter situé à un coin de rue. Arrivés dans le magasin, première mauvaise surprise : les prix de simples photos d'identité sont exhorbitants. Je n'avais jamais payé aussi cher et de loin. Quand on a besoin de faire les photos pour une famille cela représente une dépense considérable et un prix si élevé n'est pas justifié. Ils profitent de leur emplacement privilégié et d'être un peu de mèche avec les bureaux de l'administration qui en réclame de nombreuses pour rien. Mais le pire c'est que j'ai dû refaire mes photos car elles ont finalement été refusées par l'administration... Autrement l'accueil est courtois et agréable de la part du personnel.

I just moved back to Ottawa from Montreal. I needed to find a new film lab and found Sooter’s. First off, the prices are much higher than anything I’ve ever paid. Which would be ok, if the scans weren’t absolute garbage. Even the slightest crop renders the pictures incredibly pixelated (not grainy, just full out pixels). I recommend sending your film by mail to a lab in Montreal like Studio Argentique. For a fraction of the price you’ll get your scans faster and better scans at that. Even the ‘small scans’ at that lab are amazing and sharp... unlike this lab. Of the 5 labs I’ve been to over the years, this is the worst by far.

Fast, reliable and friendly, every time. There is not almost no one in Ottawa and Gatineau that offers their services. We have been bringing Theshlin our business for the past 4 years, and we could not be happier with the results, we throw them custom work and they never say no.. they have a can-do will-do mentality and it shows in their work: digitizing our old VHS was a breeze, slides from 50 years ago scanned looking brand new, old torn up photos of my grandparents look new, flawless, and photoshoots for LinkedIn and family portraits are selectively chosen, touched up and printed, and of course we bring them film roles every two weeks, and everytime we are promptly greeted with a smile and taken care of. Good note for new parents: this is the only place to take your newborns and kids to take a picture, the owner makes it look too easy!

Great service and price, picture quality is alright, paper could be better, fujicolour crystal looks much better than moritsu. Colours came out odd lost quality in some pictures versus feel of prints I got elsewhere, the pics arent as smooth to touch and look, there’s small lines that got added onto the scans from particles. the amount of light exposition can be off for some pictures, some underexposed; some scans and digitals were corrupted with black and grey lines... wish I could’ve gotten these better quality especially the digitals

I went to Scooter's for the first time to develop a 24 exp. film roll from an older camera that I own. They said it would probably take a week, but it was actually a lot faster. Good quality printing in gloss, and friendly customer service. Was medium to high priced based on my expectations.

This photographer had become our go-to photographer for all our occasions. The first time we needed a professionally-taken passport photos for my wife and my infant of 6mo. Tristan was very kind and professionally took beautiful photos (even by ID standards) and was very patient dealing with our baby. So, we booked him for in-studio graduation photo session that included my family, and again, Tristan was up to the job and took extremely beautiful photos, to the point where we're going to print several of them. Oh, and did I mention the pricing? It is very - well priced for both the passport photos and the grad session, especially when you see the high quality service and prints.

Never ever go there, they'll treat you as bad as they treat your pictures. I had my photos (a 35mm film) developped there by another photo shop, but when I got them I saw that the films were scratched, full of fingerprints, and the scans I asked for were in a terribly small resolution (about 1500 x 1000 pixels, in 2016, could you imagine), so I came back to ask for a refund. But as soon as I explained the situation to Pierre Storey (the owner), he got mad and told me it was one-in-a-thousand kind of problem. Then he checked the films for scratchs but couldn't see them (they were visible only by reflecting light on them, I've checked them since and they are indeed scratched), so he started telling me how if he ever saw my name again he wouldn't work on it, that he'd been in the business for 40 years and that ''a simple film'' couldn't put him out of business. I was baffled to hear what he was saying to me, so I suggested he look at his own scans he made and put on a CD but he didn't bother, instead he showed me on his small and outdated screen little screenshots of my pictures and proceeded to treat me as a liar. So when I asked him to get my films back, he told me that I could just ''bring (my) business somewhere else because (he doesn't) have time for a simple film''. When I got to the door, his employee shouted at me ''yeah, get out!'', so I asked him what was his problem, to which he answered that Sooter's is a family business and that I basically am trying to rip them off by asking for a service similar to today's standards. In conclusion, there's no reason to go there, as they are people who obviously don't care about you or what they do. Plus, they've got an anger management problem to solve, and quick.

I got some photos developed here.Terrible printing quality. The colour is bad and they look like bad digit photos that were printed on poor quality paper rather than film photos. Paid $18! I paid $10 in Toronto and got much higher quality photos. Will not use their services again.
