I came to Alan Dean Photography upon the recommendation of my son’s agent. “My son, the actor...” -still feels weird to say that. Jack is young, but Alan didn’t talk to him that way. He sized Jack up pretty quickly and knew that he was serious about the craft of it -that he wanted to do this well -that he was professional. So Alan spoke with him like a professional, taking his time to explain the choices he was making and stopping every now and then to show Jack the images he’d taken. “See that? See the changes just by putting your foot up? By altering the light? By taking on a different persona? That’s where the photo is. Do that.” It was an incredible thing for me, as a parent, to sit back and watch. Seeing my kid respond to something that he’s so driven to do and soaking up the education that Alan was willing to give him- I’ll remember that for a long time. We were there for two hours, but the experience will continue to impact Jack well into the future. And the resulting photos are spectacular. I honestly can’t recomend Alan Dean Photography enough. Besides getting the best image out of all of us, Alan's fast with professionals and far more patient with kids than I'd ever be. I wouldn't bother looking anywhere else if you're in the Ottawa area.
