I recently had Melanie do new Corporate and Social media shots for me. I was hesitant and have delayed this for years. I don't like having my photo taken. Melanie put me at ease right away. A wonderful suggestion was to include her husband who is a Men's clothing stylist to help me shop and choose from my own wardrobe for the event. What a great idea. We laughed all through the shoot. I was so at ease and really enjoyed the process. I am absolutely delighted with the finished photos and have had almost 100 compliments on my new profile photo in Facebook and LinkedIn. I only wish I had found Melanie a long time ago. So if you are like me don't hesitate to call. You'll be glad you did.

Melanie will agree upon a price, then hold your pictures until you pay more... We agreed on $300 for a shoot and post production, her worker did an alright job but did sit around quite a bit on set, we even supplied Molly lunch and drinks - Molly waited for a number of shots went an hour past the allotted time - that was great but we never asked that but assumed it was a nice gesture. Melanie asked for the remaining payment before supplying the photos, against my better judgement I paid. Then I get an invoice this morning for $250 + more... Demanding we pay for post production. I've been in media for over a decade and have never dealt with a situation like this. Melanie must be really hard up for money to be screwing people over. I called Melanie today in quite anger - havent been this angry in quite sometime. She told me she had a recording of our conversation - she must screw a lot of people over to be recording conversations. Strongly recommend never to do work with Melanie Gillis Photographer, reminds me there's still untrustworthy people in this World. Which is too bad but alas we move on - I write this in hopes this doesnt happen to anyone else. Doug

I usually dislike being photographed, but Melanie established a calm and relaxing atmosphere. She even managed to elicit (and capture) a real smile. The shoot was over before I knew it and I would even say that it was fun time. If you are at all considering asking your friend, mom, cousin, uncle or gardener to take your professional photos—don't! This is your career we are talking about. It is worth it. Melanie provides a level of service that no amount of ring-lights and instragram posts can compete with. It is easily worth the money.
