Great staff, from the booking to the reception to the shoot. HOWEVER, and this is important, prices are criminal. The "whole package" is 900+$ and the most basic (only 5 photos) is 250$!! Absolutely ridiculous. Yes the photos were good, but really don't justify that cost. Only reason we came was because my brother got me a gift certificate, will definietly not come back. Do yourself a favour, go to a small independent studio or get a friend with a good camera to do it...

Needless say you must be ready to spend more than what you paid on the Groupon as all the pictures turn out beautiful and want to buy EVERYTHING!!!! They are very welcoming and professional. I absolutely LOVE the quality of the Magenta pictures. They are super crisp and they also have beautiful filter effects such as snow and twinkle that make the pictures even more magical. They also take multiple pictures and poses and have great lighting. However, I have to say they are way overpriced for extra pictures of a basic photo session and they do not offer any in between options between the basic package of 75$ (30$ with groupon) for one picture and the first package of 295$ for 10 pictures! They should offer a 150$ option for 5 poses and a smaller session (15-20 mins instead of 45mins)- which is only offered for their business adults!! and not for families and children. This would be the perfect in between- which I would love if they added it.

I ordered a custom 6.5x10 image with a frame and was told the turn-around time was going to be up to 20 days. Working in the mall I would frequently go check to see if my order was in about 15 days prior to placing an order. About 2.5 weeks in, the answer I kept getting from the girls behind the counter was “it will be in end of this week or beginning of next week”. This would go on for the next 4 weeks, with no status update as to if my order was being processed or in transit. I decided to attempt to refund my order, being frustrated at this point. My response I got was that they actually “don’t do refunds in person and we could look into it for you”. I was confused as to why I couldn’t get a refund in person even though I paid for this order in person. They gave me a customer service email address, not even a phone number to contact. They also told me that since it was past 3pm that customer service wouldn’t contact me until the following day. Extremely upset with the service at this location especially for spending over $120 on a gift. Won’t be a returning customer!

Kids school photos did not turn out so great, so decided to have better photos taken of the kids for this year. Purchased a groupon and called Magenta Photo at Upper Canada Mall to book an appointment. Called a few times and only got the answering machine. Left a message and was given a call back within 15 minutes. Associate on the phone was friendly, knowledgeable and made accommodations to help book a time that worked with our family’s busy schedule. 4 days before the appointment, I received a follow up call if I received their email about the upcoming appointment and also a few tip reminders on how to make the most of the appointment that I had booked. When we arrived for the appointment, Christine our photographer took time to talk about the goals of the photo shoot and also helped make recommendations on photo style and type of backdrops that would compliment the outfits that I had picked for the kids. Christine was amazing with the kids, and so very friendly and engaging. I had fun just watching her with the kids, but what I was most impressed with was how she was able to capture their joy in EVERY photo she took during the photo shoot. I only expected to get one great photo that I was going to pick and get printed as part of my groupon coupon package, but I did the big upgrade and purchased ALL the digital photos that was taken. How do you say no to all the beautiful shots of your children’s joy and precious smile? Sales person at Magenta said it would take up to 10 days to receive a link to download all the digital photos, but I received an email within 5 days! This is my first photography appointment for my kids, and for a mall photo studio - my expectations was not high- I really just wanted a better picture than the one taken at school. What Christine at Magenta Photos did to make my kids smile and the beautiful photos taken was beyond my expectations. I now have over 40 photos that I can proudly share with our family and friends. Thank you so very much Christine and team at Upper Canada Mall Magenta Photos. You have given me the perfect present that I can share. Would highly recommend!!

We took family Christmas photos at Upper Canada Mall in November. The photographer explained everything, gave clear instructions and was professional and bubbly which made us smile and laugh. The photos looked beautiful and the lighting was good. What we were not impressed with: A bit pricey. The props cater more to children. They need to invest in a better Christmas tree and props for adults. The tree they have is miniature with scanty props. They only had one change room with a very dusty mirror. We felt like the photographer needed an assistant to help her to ensure our pose was good etc. Also the photographer should had taken more photos for us to choose from. Overall, we are please with the service.

We made a purchase in maternity apparel Thymes store in Yorkdale Mall late spring 2018. We have been presented with $35 magenta photoshoot certificate with claimed value of $175 that expires in October 2018. We booked an appointment for 2PM August 19,2018 at Fairview Mall location. Upon the arrival we could see that you have three packages available with the least (MINI) one starting $150 which includes 15 minutes photosoot and 5 photos. Your representatives refused to honor the claimed value of the certificate ($175) even though the certificate is still valid (expiration date not reached). They discussed it with themanager over the phone and refused to provide 5 photos with MINI package that we qualified for. But offered only one photo, of a questionable quality by the way, instead. They disappointed me but more importantly they disappointed my pregnant wife with this action. We are very unhappy with the dishonesty of the company or the decision-making people who brought this stress to my expecting wife and her baby. I believe that it wouldn't ruin the financial welfare of your company if the employees would honor the certificate as they should have been. November update: I brought the above facts to the attention of the customer support but no-one even replied back to my complaint....

A good place to do your photos. My family (with 2 small children) did a photo session end of March. The staff were helpful, and did a good job at entertaining the kids. We wanted to do just few photos, but end up liking a lot of photos and buying a package. We did request alterations/adjustments to a single photo, and it was missed. Once we reached out to them, they provided a photo with that alteration as we wanted. Considering that all this happened during COVID pandemic, we are happy with the quality of work.

It took a while for the images to be sent to us and then we found that it had a glare on the glasses, so we asked them to fix it. It took three months and several follow ups. It felt like a full time commitment to nag them to get what we payed for. The customer service at the head office is non existent. They don’t even offer you a phone number where they could be contacted. Our photos were taken at the Don Mills store- a family session. Not using this company again a rip off for the price and the services you get. Don’t recommend them.

She rushed is through the session spending about 2 minutes to take photos with our baby. Wouldn't even let us make the baby smile! Then she spent half an hour trying to convince us to buy their extremely expensive packages. We walked out with 6 mediocre photos for close to $400, and very unhappy. These people should not even be in business with this kind of service. Avoid them at all costs.

I went to Magenta in Newmarket mall with my 2 kids. My experience was not pleasant at all. The approach of the staff was a pure sales tactic. The photographer was not listening to what I wanted and I had to repeat my request several times before she made a reaction that she actually heard me. The pricing was explained in a confused way however once the pictures were taken and some papers were signed, a list of the pricing packages were shown to you which very well explained how much you have to pay. The pictures turn out ok however not worth the 500 I paid for 15 pictures which I could have done elsewhere with a much better price. Once I paid, they explained that my pictures will be ready in 3 weeks and then I can come and pick them up. My experience was: I felt used and angry after the session and after I saw the pictures. Never going back again and will tell everyone I know NOT to go there.

We had an great experience at Magenta. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional. They were patient and clear when explaining everything from giving tips on how to prepare for the session to assisting us when choosing the package we wanted to buy. They offered their opinion on packages and pictures but we didn't find anyone pushy. They didn't try to talk us into anything. Our pictures arrived a bit earlier than we expected and we love them! Our daughter had a lot of fun and so did we as we watched the session.

SKETCHY promotion cupom. From $175 to $35 for a photo session + 1 digital photo. When I thought photo session, my first thought was to have some printed. Well... my pregnant wife, 2 children and myself were wrong and ended up paying $35 (1 photo) + $265 for more 5 digital photos (gasp!)! Yes... this is the CHEAPER package! BTW, no photo treatment at all. Let’s play with facts... who the hack would pay $175 dollars (regular price) for a photo session (which takes around ~35 min) that will take ~40 photos and you GET ONLY 1!!! Sketchy (setup) marketing.

Just completed our infant shoot at Magenta Newmarket and what a great experience it was. We were immediately brought in even though we showed up early and they made us and our daughter feel comfortable right away. Diana, our photographer, was great. She was open to our ideas and was able to give us her expertise as well. The shoot went amazing and Diana was extremely patient when our daughter got a little fussy. A little more and we were forced to put their hideous diaper covers on our baby when we had several choices of beautiful washable diapers for him. I then understood why ... the photographer came out full of brown accessories when we had opted for a gray and blue layer, fairly neutral. The colors just didn't fit! They are really stubborn to always do the same poses with everyone ... nothing original. (Original) Aucunement à l'écoute de nos propositions. On s'est fait imposer des décors que nous ne voulions pas. Un peu plus et on nous forçait à mettre leurs affreux caches couches à notre bébé alors que nous avions pour lui plusieurs choix de belles couches lavables. J'ai compris par la suite pourquoi... la photographe sortait plein d'accessoires bruns alors que nous avions opté pour une couche grise et bleu, assez neutre. Les couleurs fittaient juste pas! Ils sont vraiment entêtés à toujours faire les même poses avec tout le monde...rien d'original.

She is very knowledgeable, gives easy to follow instructions, and worked so well with my daughter when she was 1 week old and 6 months old. We LOVE our photos! I had 4 session done at Magenta Newmarket. I loved it before, however they don't have good services anymore. Last session they had to re do it as there weren't any good pictures I could pick. There were some lighting issues. I have stopped going there, not worth the money.
