We worked with Sara for both our engagement and wedding photos. Not only were we thrilled with the outcome but we absolutely loved working with her. For our wedding, we decided to do all our photos during the ceremony and reception. Sara had scoped out the locations ahead of time and only had us step away from our guests for a short while. She pointed us to a great elopement package that allowed us to still get married on our original date and move our reception to 2021. OK, so, to be completely honest, I was SO stressed about my wedding photos. We had a very relaxed, lovely elopement and Sara captured the day so well. We chatted back and forth with the build up to the day and a videocall (covid times!) to make sure we were on the same page for what we wanted. Sara was so great and made the whole day so so chilled, felt like she was a friend hanging out with us all day taking amazing natural photos - which is just what we wanted. She picked amazing locations across Tofino (as we had never been so asked her the best spots!) and the photos were amazing. Look.No.Further. Seriously, Sara is the best in the business for so many reasons. Sara was an incredible addition to our day and quite frankly our year of planning. Starting with our initial meeting, Sara made a point of hearing our concerns about 'traditional wedding photos', feeling like we we're far to awkward, and the limits of a tight budget. We we're essentially sold when we met her, but even more so when she promised us a bit of hand holding and an art-full outcome that wouldn't feel to formal...all of which she delivered on. We initially had Sara take our engagement photos (a great idea if you're awkward/nervous), which we did in our home to maximize comfort level. Both my husband and I were blown away by the results and by Sara's talent for capturing personality in the most understated, honest kind of way. The images really looked like us. Over the course of the year, Sara was organized, great at keeping in touch and even made some clutch recommendations for other vendors! Day of, Sara was such a calming presence and throughout the day felt like an excited friend rather than like she was 'on the job'. She was incredibly patient with us and our (sometimes unruly groomsmen), she took every opportunity for a unique/creative shot, and she really took charge of making sure we were positioned/arranged the right way, something I SO appreciated, being that I am uncomfortable in front of a camera and definitely NOT a great model. Bottom line: we could not have asked for more (and got more than we imagined) from Sara and her contribution to our day. Sara had warned us (being that we were an October wedding) that the turn around time on our photos might be a bit longer because she was coming out of the busy summer season, which we have no issue with at all. She sent a sneak peak a week or so after the wedding and that got us through until the whole package came. Sara, concerned that editing had taken too long, ended up sending us the most beautiful gift box with a couple of printed photos, our USB key with the whole lot, and a gift card to our wedding venue to go back for dinner! This was so above and beyond/unexpected and so kind. And then the photos ... I have no words. Some how Sara managed to capture us and our little spark, but in the most breathtakingly beautiful way. Her use of light and color and architecture was so stunning... I still cant seem to find the right words. Needless to say we were overwhelmed. Sara's photos are art, they are full of energy and feeling and they are so flawlessly executed. I'm genuinely not sure what more we could have possibly asked or wanted. So, Sara - Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for seeing us so clearly, for capturing all spark and no awkward, and for being such a wonderful addition to our day.
