Got in contact with Shelly to capture my proposal to my girlfriend. Instantly I knew she was just as excited as I was about the day. Coming from Scotland and first time visit to Niagara Falls I was relying on Google Maps for possible locations. Shelly took my ideas, recommended her own and even sent photos of all the possible locations for the big moment. She kept in constant contact with quick replies on the run up. The night before the day I made a change to the location but Shelly took it in her stride and I believe was secretly pleased I decided to change Ramblers Rest to Oakes Garden Theatre. On the morning of the proposal the area was very misty with occasional rain showers. Nothing phased Shelly and she captured our proposal amazingly! Even though for the whole 4months prior all I mentioned was having the falls in the background but the mist covered them haha. The engagement shoot that followed was very professional even in the rain. She made us feel at ease and we enjoyed it thoroughly through all the excitement. I have participated in many photoshoots for many different reasons in my life which gave me a chance to work with many different types of photographers. Given that, I still always get weird and akward infront of the camera. Which causes the photos to come out lame. With Shelley’s style and direction I was able to forget about that and I can really see it in the photos. I look so comfortable and she managed to capture myself at my most natural self! So it is safe to say, she is my most favourite!!!! I almost always hate how Im captured and the outcomes of professional photography but the photos she showed me are beyond stunning! I love each and one of them. I cannot wait to have them framed hanging on my wall and sitting on my dresser for the world to see! Amazing editing job as well! My husband and I were lucky enough to have Shelly as our photographer for our wedding. It was a little bit different as we live in Halifax and our wedding was in Hamilton (Ontario). Shelly was unbelievably accommodating with our requests as well as planning process for photos. Shelly photographed our proposal/engagement in the dead of winter in Niagara Falls. It was not an easy feat but it was also nothing short of exceptional. According to my fiancé (who was the one who contacted her), she was very quick to reply and was very flexible. Here is what I personally loved about the experience: 1. It was a surprise and I did not see her hiding and photographing the moment of the proposal 2. She was very patient with me asking her if my hair looked okay ever 5 seconds 3. She photographed us from every possible angle and stopped to show us what the pictures looked like every once in a while 4. She asked us if there were any other pictures we wanted to take and she took them 5. She was very very sweet 6. She sent us the photos very quickly (only 2 days or so after we took them) 7. The photos turned out absolutely gorgeous Highly recommend!
