I contacted Matte Box on a recommendation of a friend as my partner and I hate having our picture taken, but we wanted something special to celebrate out engagement. From start to finish Justin and Laura put us at ease. Having an interview to get to know us better and to find out more about us, the things we like, things we like to do and of course how the proposal happen etc really helped us and them to get an idea of what we wanted.The day of the shoot went really well and it was like they weren't even there and we were able to enjoy ourselves and forgot we were having pictures taken. They were excellent at communicating and we received the pictures very promptly. The quality blew us away and the definitely captured us at our best! We will definitely be using them again when we get married. Cannot recommend them enough especially if you are shy or struggle having your picture taken.

The first time meeting Justin was so relaxed. I felt like I was hanging out with a long time friend! So of course we booked MBM right away! We did our engagement shoot last weekend and meeting up again was no different...hanging out with old friends. So much so that we hung out after the shoot was done! Laura mentioned that we would receive some teasers by Monday or Tuesday. I was thinking that is so prompt because I know some people have to wait much longer. Monday night I received an email that the teasers were ready ???? I cant wait to have tons of fun with these guys come wedding day.

When trying to find the right photographer for our wedding, the main thing we needed was someone who could make us feel comfortable and live in the moment of our wedding. Justin and Matte Box Memories did this and so much more! When we first met Justin (he even Skyped us because we were in Italy at the time), he made us feel so comfortable and we felt we could truly be ourselves in front of him. After we booked Matte Box Memories for our photography and photobooth, we had our complimentary engagement shoot with Justin. Just as we thought, the connection was instantaneous, as he showed so much interest in who we were as a couple, what makes us comfortable and what doesn't. He never tried to push crazy photo ideas on us but still provided guidance (as we had no idea what we were doing). I was so worried as my husband and I are not very photogenic in staged situations and Justin got us out of our shell and the pictures WERE AMAZING! For our wedding, the experience was exactly the same. In a hectic day of the wedding, Justin and his team took charge and led the way, which is a relief for a bride. There were some sudden changes with our picture location that we pre-picked with Justin a couple weeks before but Justin made the adjustments and everything turned out even better than expected. Justin even listened when I said we had to move on to the next event and was very respectful of my Type A bride personality in sticking to a schedule. It was a perfect balance of Justin taking charge and getting the shots he needed and yet sticking to my wants and needs. I couldn't have been happier! We also rented the photobooth from Matte Box Memories, which was a huge hit! The free design of the photo cards was perfect and the props were amazing! Every one of my guests was in there and they loved it! I would definitely recommend Matte Box Memories to anyone who wants a stress free and enjoyable experience with pictures at their wedding! Thank you Justin for everything!

It would help other brides and grooms if you could answer the following for them: 1) What you wanted in your photographer IA: someone who could work a crowd: control the overly zealous and controlling family members as well as making everyone at ease and who could stay on schedule. 2) Why you chose us over others IA: After meeting the team at their office, we saw the past works and the team asked us about our history as individuals as well as a couple so they could get a better idea of what and why we requested certain themes and ideas. They were very understanding and enthusiastic about our ideas and didn’t push anything on us but rather help guide us to make the themes and ideas. 3) What was your favorite part of the process and product IA: the who experience was fantastic. The team was setup and was not disturbing the preparations and when the ceremony was over, they really took charge of the family and friend shoots in a timely manner. During the reception, the team was engaging and having fun with all guests and having the photo pith was such a hit with the guests. My favourite was the slide show we received afterwards summarizing the whole event. 4) Would you recommend us to your family and friends IA: Absolutely yes. Many thanks to the team for making the memorable event that much more epic.

Justin was such a pleasure to work with. From start to finish, his team did such an unbelievable job and really focused on what we dreamed of for our wedding video. Due to uncertainty of the weather, we weren’t sure if we were going to have an indoor or outdoor ceremony. When my fiancee and I were planning our wedding we had concerns over which photographer and videographer we were going to use. We did not want the cookie cutting products yet we want our photographer and videographer to make the process easy for us. Justin and his team certainly met our needs. As soon as we finished our first orientation we knew we wanted to use Justin and his team. Justin was friendly, knowledgeable and organized. He gave us a very comfortable feeling that he would be able to deliver the end product that we want. Throughout the process from our pre-wedding photos, brainstorming ideas of what unique element we want to input to our photos and video to the actual day of wedding, Justin and his team made sure we stuck to the timeline and took the initiative to follow up with us on some ideas we were coming up with. First meeting was fun, Laura and her assistant received us warmly and made us feel very comfortable. Was a little disappointed that Justin was not going to be our chief photographer, we even had some doubts when Scott became the replacement. Surprisingly, Scott was a delightful and experienced photographer to work with. On our engagement photo day, it was raining on and off with a cloudy sky, but Scott did a wonderful job taking our pictures. We received teasers just a couples of days later, and we were both very happy with the photos and scenery selection. The lighting was very good on the photos as well. Laura was an attentive and helpful assistant, with her suggestions and help, the engagement photo shoot went better than expected. =)
