Trevor Allen is amazing. We had him shoot our family photos at Lawrencetown Beach and it was the best photography experience I've ever had. Most people in our family don't like having their picture taken and the children just wanted to go in the water, but Trevor made it happen! He made us laugh, enjoy the experience and feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. The photos look natural and gorgeous! When the children got bored he told them to go have fun in the water and captured them in their element: having fun. I would highly recommend Trevor for all of your photography needs - his skill makes the photos stunning and his personality makes the experience delightful!

This is no easy feat since we had 6 little ones for the shoot - 10 years to 1 plus a few reluctant 30 and 40 years olds! But Trevor did a fantastic job of making everyone comfortable and producing some amazing shots that captured our family spirit. I have been dreading writing this review because I don't think I have the words to properly describe how happy we were with Trevor Allen; nor how personally impressed I was with this consummate professional photographer who will be dressed and prepared for the occasion. Ladies, you understand the importance of investing in a great wedding photographer, look no further. Guys, you're the target audience of this review. I freely admit that when it comes to art, such as photography, I am pretty ignorant. I can however recognize that Trevor Allen is a master of the Art of Wedding photography. He is able to see the potential in every shot, location and person. His timing is flawless, capturing moments that others would miss. He uses his towering height to gain vantage points that others would need a ladder to accomplish! Funny, yes, but I'm only half joking; at over 6 & 1/2 feet, it's true! Impressively, he retains the rare ability to blend into a crowd and, when appropriate, make you forget he's there. As a father, he understands how to interact with kids and was great with my niece. Trevor's experience has taught him to read people and he'll work the happy couple and wedding party. Trevor is an exuberant people person and his spirit is contagious, his energy will keep you going and a smile on your face! If required, he'll skillfully run interference and squash a problem before you even knew it existed. He helped us prioritize our photos and happily accommodated our spontaneous requests. I did my best, but still do not believe I have the words to express how happy we were for choosing Trevor Allen Photography Inc. | Halifax Wedding & Portrait Photographer. His pictures will be your memories for the rest of your life. Trevor Allen is worth every penny. Let me stress that again, that Trevor Allen is the professional artist that will make all the difference on your wedding day and is worth every single penny. Took a basic three hour camera course with my teenage daughter. The time flew by for both of us. Very entertaining, enthusiastic instructor with lots of experience to share. We thought we were taking a course to learn just the basics to be familiar with our model of camera. Not only did the course give us a solid understanding of how to use our camera but made my daughter and I, with no previous training feel like we could be aspire to shoot like pros. He made it easy to learn. I have always been overwhelmed when faced with such things as the relationships between aperture, shutter speed and ISO. He broke them down and explained each one with multiple examples and then brought them all together. Then taking it a step further explaining to us how to take some normal everyday shots and make them look professionally shot. We can't wait to take a more advanced class from him.

Trevor is amazing in so many ways and I'm thrilled we had him for our engagement, wedding and now my website photo shoots. First of all he is a magician with the camera. He knows exaclty what angle to capture you in, how to work with the sun and the changing weather, and overal technically he really does work wonders. Secondly, he is so flexible and easy to work with. We recently did a shoot for my website and we were at the mercy of our NS spring weather. He made himself available almost everyday for like a month to check at 6 am in the morning and make a decision on if it was a go or not. So accommodating!!! Third, he is like your best friend and so comfortable to be around. He'll connect with people at your wedding like they've known each other for years, he is fun and easy going and keeps you laughing through some really gruelling times - it's not easy posing for pics!!! But what I love most about Trevor is how beautiful he makes you feel (and look thanks to the magic of photoshop!) But seriously, he really does know how to capture your best smile, most flattering angle, and your true essence. He's brought me, mom and dad to tears with his ablity to capture moments and beauty. If you're looking for amazing technical skill, a fun creative and heartfelt personality, great price and flexibility - Trevor's your guy!!!!

From the day my fiancé (now husband) and I started planning our wedding, we agreed that we would each pic the most important thing to us, and commit 100% to making that awesome. One of us chose to have an open bar (guess who) and the other chose Trevor. Not "photographer" in general... but Trevor. I had seen him shoot a friend's wedding a few years ago and the shots from hers made him my front runner from the very start. The day came and... to say that Trevor worked his magic would be an understatement. Professional and creative, hilarious and kind - Trevor is a bride's dream. He made everyone feel comfortable, sacrificed his own suit jacket to the rain and mud gods so my dress wouldn't be destroyed before the ceremony, and used his incredible ability to play with light, to produce the most incredible wedding photos - and I've only seen the teasers!!! If you're considering hiring any other photographer... just don't. Trevor is, quite simply, the best!

Trevor is more than just a great photographer, he's truly an artist. He stands out from any other photographer I've ever seen. He managed to get some amazing, amazing shots at our wedding that we're so happy with. What stands out most to me, is that with many shoots, there will be 2-3 stand out shots, but with Trevor, every single photo is amazing. Choosing any to print will be really hard, but it's a good problem to have! We had so much fun going through our wedding photos, and couldn't be happier. Additionally, I had expected the photo-talking part of the wedding to feel like work to get through to get to the dinner, but it ended up being a lot fun in and of itself! Trevor may charge more than other photographers, but you get what you pay for and he is worth every penny.

I attended one of Trevor's half day classes to learn the basics of my camera (never shoot in auto mode again!). This was a special class where moms (parents) were able to bring their babies. First of all, having a class that allowed me to get out of the house with my three week old was amazing. It was a great chance to meet other moms, and to be in a setting where I could rest-easy knowing others were in the same boat as me. The class was also breast-feeding friendly so I didn't have to worry about how to feed my baby. Trevor had a small change table set up in the back, and his talented wife baked delicious cookies. In terms of the class, I didn't know what to go in expecting seeing as most people would have a different camera than me. Trever far exceeded my expectations in every way. I felt comfortable to ask questions, he explained everything in a way that enabled me to grasp (and if we didn't understand, he found another way to explain!). Having someone with his level of expertise and experience with family portraits was invaluable. Not only did I learn a lot about my camera, I also received information on shooting locations, tips and tricks for shooting with children, and advice on equipment to consider purchasing. At the end of the course we were provided a small 'cheat sheet' about everything we covered, and the slides from the presentation (via email) which were tailored to our individual camera brands. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this course. It is second to none, and for the price it can't be beaten. Trevor is a highly approachable person, and I encourage you to consider attending his class, or hiring him for photography services. He takes great pride in his work which is evident by the quality of images in his portfolio.
