Not as big, as you would assume after their website... Staff will answer your questions, knowledgeably. They mostly will not help you if you want general recommendations: you must figure what you want first, on your own. You may try lenses right there; they probably have the exact model of your (popular) brand camera, if it's not too old one.. Can got outside, take a some shots, evaluate, even at home, if you brought your own flash card. Returns are OK; but you get a huge, full letter size receipt... I guess, it's OK

I was hesitant to purchase online from Kenmore because their prices were competitive and all of the major retailers were sold out of the Canon R6 and the lens adaptor. Based on their positive reviews, I made the purchase with anxiety that they would send me an international or used version of both products. I purchased them late Thursday night, received shipping tracking on Friday afternoon and tracked the shipment religiously. Everything arrived on Monday (thanks USPS!). Kenmore Camera packed everything incredibly well and the products are brand new and USA versions. I was simultaneously relieved and excited! Thank you Kenmore Camera for being awesome!!!

Love this store while visiting the Kenmore, Washington. Beautiful place to shop while in Kenmore on the north end of Lake Washington with a relaxing atmosphere. Great Camera and Accessory selection. Fun for the whole family and friends. Access friendly entrance. Clean facilities throughout including the bathrooms. Beautiful shopping all-around the facilities. Great classes, souvenirs and camera's to be found here. Be prepared for a little adverse island weather if necessary on the way in or out. Parking was plentiful and easily accessible. Spots were a little tight in some places. We loved the shopping and variety that was provided to us.

They bill themselves as the center of the camera universe and while not quite that, they are very good. The very few things I needed which they didn't have I had to get from one of the big NYC camera stores. Prices are very competitive. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable, with different staff specializing in different topics (for example they have someone who teaches studio lighting). And the parking is plentiful. Hint: when purchasing something specific check their web site for sales - they change every Sunday. You get the same price in the store, it's just an easy way to check the price.

Quite disappointed overall in my second experience there. Back in November, we bought my father a tripod and that went pretty well overall. So, when my daughter was in need of a new camera for an upcoming trip to Europe, we looked at her budget, considered our options and decided that it was ALWAYS a good idea to keep money local, right? We went into Kenmore Camera on a weekday afternoon and there were a multitude of people free to assist us. We had a woman walk over and speak with us first - so we went with her. We explained CLEARLY that we had a budget and needed to stay within that budget, however, she took us over to see some cameras just outside the budget (about $30 more) - since it was a much better camera than the alternate one she showed, we opted to spend a little extra. THEN we had to spend even more to buy a case that matched. *sigh* We went to check out and I handed her a Visa Gift Card. Those cards don't need to be registered, but they do have to be run very specifically at some places of business in order to deduct the funds properly. The Gift Card was what my mother sent to my daughter for her trip. 7 attempts with one computer and 5 attempts with the other and 25 minutes of my time later, she informed me the Gift Card was not working, encouraged me to call the company and left me no choice but to pay out of my pocket in full for the camera or not get it. I asked her NO FEWER than 3 times if she needed to ask someone else for help - she said she had run so many of these cards before - there was no need for her to ask for help. Rather than disappoint my daughter, I went ahead and paid against my wishes. I regret that purchase so much. Since that day we've had nothing but trouble with the new camera, the Gift Card still has money on it - although EVERY SINGLE PLACE I HAVE GONE since walking out of Kenmore Camera has HAPPILY accepted funds from the card, and now 2 nights before my daughter's trip we find out that even though we clearly explained exactly what this camera was to be used for, we were never told that the mini usb cable was not included with the camera and that there is NO WAY to charge the camera battery with a usb anyway. We've had to OVERNIGHT a special Euro plug and we're going searching for a mini usb cord of some sort tomorrow in hopes we will be able to find what we need. I am so very frustrated because the ENTIRE reason I WENT to Kenmore Camera was for personal service, attention to detail, to work with staff who knew what they were doing and to keep our money local. It's the LAST time I'll do that. So thanks for that, Kenmore Camera.

Had what other didn't, in stock and priced right. I was on a trip in the area and the lens hood for my zoom lens. I figured no problem, I would call a store in Seattle and get a replacement. Three calls later I realized how wrong I was. On the last call I asked the person if there was ANY store that he thought might carry the item. He said try Kenmore. They are a pretty big store, but I don't think they will have it. No one carries these, you have to order them. They not only had it, in stock, but at the right price. Went to the store and when I walked in I knew I was in the right place. All the names you know that represent quality photo gear are there. Just as important, the guy who helped me, I think his name was John, was really knowledgeable and super helpful.

Initially I was expecting to find a larger selection of used equipment. While they do have some the store is primarily dedicated to selling a wide variety of new equipment and accessories. The staff on hand at the store is fairly knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. I purchased a used flash which turned out not to work properly due to a defective LCD display. I returned the item two days later and the store took it back with no problems. I would definitely do business with them again.

BEST Retail Experience I Have Had in a Long Time!. THANK YOU! I went in ready to discard everything I knew and start over with new equipment if it would give me a better long term result. I really needed a patient professional with the heart of a teacher to help me learn what I needed. I found that in Guy Olivera. He was patient in explaining all of the options that I should consider in my price range. My impression is that there wasn't a ton of $$ in this deal for him so the time investment was huge considering the likely return to him. Not only is this store the best camera store I've ever been to, but the patience shown to a certain problem-customer was outstanding. Thank you for everything and apologize for the payment issues, and subsequent proof of payment confusion. Edited after I found that it wasn't the banks fault at all, and found the store's resolution for it was for me to dispute the charge rather than actually running a batch report on their card machine. Instead, they sent a picture of some spread sheet that made no sense, and I had to dispute it, which I did and of course I was reimbursed by the bank, not by the store.

My favorite camera store for quite some time. Their selection covers the major brands - new and used. Add a huge selection of accessories - tripods, lighting, bags, printing supplies, V-logging setups, and a bewildering array of widgets, and I think you'd need a significant travel budget to find a more complete store. I can't speak to all brands, but at least for Olympus they match any advertised sale prices. They also have regular sales of their own, so depending on your patience quotient you can potentially make your budget go quite a bit farther. Or acquire more gear! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to take the time to answer questions, offer suggestions, or help you make good decisions whatever your level of knowledge or interest. I haven't spent a lot of time carefully watching their interactions with other customers, but I've never seen them try any remotely aggressive sales tactics; I suspect any such behavior would simply not be tolerated. Pre-pandemic they regularly hosted presentations and classes in several rooms in a wing dedicated to such. Industry reps would present new models, give presentations on getting the most out of their equipment, and answer questions. Photographers would give presentations in their specialties - wildlife, sports, portrait, weddings, etc. Presumably these in-person events will resume when it's safe to so so. Currently the offerings are primarily streaming. I haven't yet signed up for one, but they're posted on the Website as they're available. There are also some local(ish) field trip classes - limited in size, and adhering to recommended safety precautions. The Website is extensive, and recently moved to a whole new platform. As of this writing it's still being refined. If you encounter any issues please do email them a "bug report". As with any operation this size they don't have a large IT department to do these kinds of upgrades, so we Beta testers get to help out. ????

I was concerned that being a smaller store (compared to the box stores) their prices would be higher. I asked if they would beat Costco, Bestbuy, etc they checked the prices for me and they were already lower than all of them, even Amazon. The best part is I have been in 3 times since and asked questions about the camera I bought and they have been great. They haven't pressured me to buy more stuff, they just want to make sure I love and know how to use the camera....buying more stuff will come naturally as I get in to photography more. Buy local!

The man at the photo printing desk and I discussed what I wanted, the size, etc. for several minutes, as well as the fact that I needed this for Father's Day. I was very disappointed when I went back in this afternoon to pick it up, and all they had for me was a flat canvas print- not wrapped on a frame. I was told that if I wanted it on a frame I could take it to a frame shop. It would have been great to know this ahead of time, so I could have planned and known that it would double the cost of my project! The young man who had originally helped me sort of hid behind the counter this whole time while someone else helped me. Not impressed.

I've been to this place three times now, and each time I've experienced horrible customer service. I would give them zero stars if I could. The only reason I kept going back was because the location is ideal, and I like to support local businesses. However, I refuse to support a business who seems to care nothing about potential customers. We needed a tripod to take some videos for our business. We looked at Amazon and found one, but then we realized that we should be shopping local. We have shopped at Kenmore Camera over the years, and decided to give them a call. They had exactly what we needed for the tripod and had the necessary the cell phone adapter. While we spent a few dollars more, it was so worth it! The tripod has lots of great features and works well. It is much better than what we were thinking about purchasing on Amazon. The best, highest quality customer service of any retail in the state. When they say that they just want you to be happy with your camera, they really mean it. No one is too busy to answer your questions or talk shop. Available employees ask if you need assistance withina minute, and if they're busy, they'll acknowledge you as soon as they can. They were very, very generous about a return. I was really nervous about the restock fee, but my assistant at Kenmore was very realistic about how little I used it. Absolutely wonderful business. I talked to a sales person at the store over the phone and he assured me that they have been a family owned business for over 40 years in the area. He cannot sell me anything more than $500 over the phone but the online sales could. He also said that if order received before noon will ship out the same day. I explained to him that I was just burnt by Abe's of Maine last night over a Swich-and-Bait ordering a Panasonic G9 with the Leica lens. He was very sympathetic and assured me that their online sales will take care of me. Sure enough, I placed my order over the website and within an hour I received confirmation that the order was shipped. No phone call to confirm, no up sale, no switch and bait. I want to spread the good words on honest-to-god business practice that is a rare act these days.

I've been here a couple of times before. The staff here is very knowledgeable and polite. They have a good collection of new and used camera gear. Today I walked in just for a small accessory. One of the staff members told me they didn't have it in stock, but referred me to another camera store (Kens's Shot on film store) which might have it. Such sincerity, caring only for the customer, and having respect for other stores is a rare attribute these days. Update (Nov 2020) on selling gear here: Don't expect to get eBay prices - but they do give you a fair value for your used gear - the trade in value is more than cash value. The staff ( Especially Brian) made it so quick and effortless. This is a great choice for quick sale if you want to avoid all the hassles of selling stuff yourselves. Take away point... Get a second opinion... I have brought in a malfunctioning camera Panasonic Lumix which I purchased 6 months ago. They stated that the sensor is damage and it will cost several hundred dollars to repair/replace it without guarantee. So with their recommendation, I purchased Sony RX1000VI pocket camera which I was looking for. Problem #1 ... I found a camera repair shop at Ballard and they repaired it for $200. Problem #2 ... since the Lumix camera was not working, I sold the lens to them since salvage some loss per their recommendation. Now I have working two cameras with one without a lens. I went by today, hoping to purchase back the lens. Unfortunately the lens was no longer available. At this point, I gathered it was a bad luck for me. I decided to make this comment when the individual who worked there was very unhelpful, defensive and had no sympathy. He stated that "I would not of repair it for $200." However, I SPENT much more for the Sony camera at his store Kenmore Camera. So lesson learn, GET A SECOND OPINION!

80% of staff great...the other 20% make you feel like a jackass just for being there. I assume they must be talented photographers but they are crappy at customer service. Let the customer set the level of the discussion and HELP them at that level instead of acting like this interaction is unworthy of your precious time. I have been to B&H and Seattle’s photography store starting with “G” and never once felt condescended to the way I was here at multiple occasions. ...again, just those 20%, the other 80% are awesome. I want you guys to do better because if we didn’t need good customer service we would just order it online.

As a first-time "serious" camera buyer, they could have tried to sell me a $60 to $90 lens filter. Instead, they did the honest thing, and once they knew I already had less expensive lens filters that were too big, they showed me an $8 step-up ring instead which fit perfectly. :) They have premium equipment available, but they won't take advantage of you. I am so happy with my visit.

Kenmore camera has a large inventory for just about everybody's photographic needs along with a professional and helpful staff. The downside is that prices are on the high side and I would never do a trade-in there again. I consider this only as a emergency must have now camera store. Example- recently picked up a wireless remote at $99.95, same brand and model $78.99. Exactly the same thing under a different name was $48. 95.

The salesman (Guy) walked me through the differences between the new mirrorless vs. DSLR cameras I was used to, and did a very thorough comparison, and didn't pressure me into a decision; I appreciated that enormously! First time shopping at this store; I checked out their website for used lenses and to my delight they had a ton in stock. Parking is free and plentiful. Store is fairly big and way overstaffed. I was greeted quickly, explaining to the young gent helping me why I came in. We went to the used section and to my disappointment they only had two lenses on display (Olympus brand) for sale verses the 24 shown in stock on their website. Young gent said these move fast, fair enough, just wish they would update their website! Then we moved into the new section, where the advice I got was you need to spend a thousand or more for a good lens belittling the budget I set out with. Like others said the associates are a mixed bag of useless/helpful. Really wish they would have posted their prices on all items since the young gent had to run back to the computer multiple times. This place is good for needing something in a pinch or wanting to try out different lenses & cameras, however, their website doesn't appear to be updated daily with what items are in stock so calling in advance is recommended. I wouldn't stop here again unless I wanted to try something out.

I had purchased a little mobile camera that I hoped would be a lot of fun (short version it didn't work well - which isn't Kenmore's fault). I had been working with the camera's tech support team in China (which takes a while with timezone differences) and I had gone past the return window by the time I determined the camera just wasn't going to work. This store is now an even more "dangerous" place to visit since it moved from the smaller location it had been in for years to this new wonderful playland of camera fun. The personnel are awesome and very knowledgeable. We have been customers of theirs for years and hope to be for years to come. There is nothing like GREAT customer service and they have it for sure along with absolutely the best quality equipment. And we love their shows they put on with the reps from many companies along with the talks given by respected people in the field.

I'm new to this area from Florida, I needed a Hoya Polarizer same day so decided to see what was in the area, usually I order from B&H but decided to venture out to Kenmore Camera, I was impressed with the selection and the availability of hands to help answer and guide me to what I needed. Richard was my sales rep (according to the receipt) He was able to bring down price on the filter without me even asking or suggesting due to an ongoing sale with that particular one I went with which I thought was great customer service and exactly what brick and mortar stores nowadays need in order to survive Amazon and other massive online retailers. They have pretty decent choice of film, I must say. Got a roll of 35 mm 36 exp Kodak T-Max 400 for $10. Well, not super cheap, but I like having a film store around the corner. It's cosy; assistants are always friendly as well as knowledgeable. Good place.

The times I've had to go here for some major troubleshooting they have been so helpful and really help me work through the problem. I rented some equipment for a wedding shoot and was having some issues with the cords and they were able to find adapter pieces and even sell me a great used flash unit that worked at the last minute. They really know their stuff here and have had pieces I haven't been able to find elsewhere at the Bellevue camera shops.

Beast of a camera store. It has everything and a lot of choices in any category - lanses, cameras, gear..... was not impessed by repair services as I felt I was being talked into a replacement vs talking about a repair. Granted manufacturers often will not repair if they feel the fix is not cost effective vs buying a refurb or a new one but that is the maker's choice to make, not the store's. Still it is THE place to go for anything camera. Refreshing since there are so few stores left. Everything on line - cheaper but no service. Helps a lot to talk to someone real time and in person.

I LOVE KENMORE CAMERA!!! I took two 35mm film rolls to be developed and scanned here after a friend recommended their services. I chose the high resolution option, and the the quality of the scans were the BEST I have seen in my time searching the Seattle area for a film developer. The same rolls just didn't look the same when they were developed at other labs. Great staff, great location, good times all around. CHEERS

What can I say about Kenmore Camera that hasn't already been said about the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Great Wall of China, and/or any other wonder of the world. It's a great place to visit and buy all kinds of photography and video gear. Great selection of cameras, camera bags, lighting, and accessories. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they have really clean bathrooms. Unlike some other camera stores that have extremely dirty bathrooms, or no bathrooms at all. For goodness sake!!!... step away from your computer, get off of Facebook, do yourself a favor and visit Kenmore Camera now!!!
