Absolutely recommend this woman and all her magic to anyone and everyone. Tara did both our engagement photo shoot and our wedding day this past spring and summer in the mountains. We also plan to hire her for all big events and life moments in the future. She is one of a kind. Before our engagement shoot she spent days scoping out the mountain ranges and found the perfect location. She spends a lot of time in nature being adventurous so she has a keen eye and knows exactly where and when to shoot. She was so much fun to work with during the session, playing music, laughing, dancing, which made it an even more relaxing and fun experience. All our pictures turned out so well. Before the shoot she took the time to get to know us as a couple, made the engagement session custom to our personalities and our relationship it was so laid back and an overall an amazing time. You could see the positive energy, good vibes, and fun we had through the images we received. Our wedding day she was exactly what we needed. She melts into the background when appropriate and captured every little moment… some we didn’t even see on the big day. But when things needed to get done, she was a force and wore many hats. Photographer, organizer, time keeper, confidant, cheerleader..she even gave me a neck massage when things got a little stressful. Like many brides I was a bit frantic the day of and got caught up in everything going on. She was so patient when I forgot things and at the end of the night she went over her scheduled timeline to be sure she captured us cutting the cake (at 12am)… to me, this solidified the fact that she is an incredibly genuine person who loves her job and really cares about making people happy. All our guests adored her and made sure to tell me how impressed they were with her ability to capture the perfect moments and her stellar dance moves. As one of the most important moments of your life, having someone there that you can trust to have your best interests in mind while she captures the best parts of the day, was a seriously rare find. Would highly recommend this incredible woman.

Tara is incredibly talented!! She was the photographer for our engagement photos and our wedding day. During our engagement photos she made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, gave us the direction we needed and honestly made the experience so fun! * Leading up to our wedding Tara responded to emails very quickly, her process and contract details were professional and clear and she happily answered any questions I had. * On our wedding day Tara was a dream! She stayed behind the scenes and we barely noticed her when we were getting ready, she really just let us soak in the day. She went above and beyond in many ways that day! She made my mom and really everyone feel comfortable, we had many laughs and she was always close by getting the moment. She promptly gave us our sneak peeks within a week of the wedding and we loved every single one of those photos! I cannot begin to express what an incredible experience we had with Tara Hill Studios for our wedding! Tara is an incredibly talented photographer, an organizational wizard and the photographer you need to hire for your wedding day! Our wedding planning ended up spanning two years, three dates, two venues and two provinces (thanks COVID) and Tara was accommodating, optimistic and worked with us to make sure our day was perfect every step of the way! She provided her Wedding Guide which was *chefs kiss* - AMAZING! Ask her about the Table Game - we did it at our wedding and our guests raved about how much fun it was to kick off the reception! Ask her about sample timelines for the day, she has that covered too - with all kinds of different scenarios! Tara is like a defacto wedding planner and we found her guidance and brilliant ideas really helped shape our day to accommodate everything we wanted to do! With Tara, you are getting a someone who is hands on, who wants to be involved in your day and who is going to dance the night away with you once photos are done! Tara is such a likeable person and we are so glad we can call her our friend! We recently got our photos back and we cannot stop looking at them! We laugh, we cry, and we smile - we felt completely comfortable with Tara and you can see it in the photos! Her photos captured the natural interactions we had with each other and Tara was down to take any kind of photos we wanted! One of my favorite moments was during the engagement shoot (which I HIGHLY recommend) - we wanted to build a fire and take pictures cozied around it. Of course Tara was on board, brought a shovel to dig a pit into the snow and fire building supplies! We had a near disaster when the fire went out, but through some of that endless optimism and some good fanning of the flames, we got the fire back and those pictures are amazing! If you are thinking about Tara as your photographer, DO IT! You will thank yourself for putting your wedding in the hands of an outrageously talented photographer!

Myself and my now husband got engaged in February 2019 and decided we wanted to have our wedding in June 2019, therefore we knew it would be hard to find a photographer in time. Luckily, my sister suggested her friend from College, Tara Hill. I reached out to Tara and she was super excited to do our wedding and was amazing to work with as she was flexible and organized to get everything ready in a short amount of time. I had no clue what I wanted with my wedding photos, but Tara was great at asking questions (she did a questionnaire and Facetime chats) to find out what we were looking for. Having Tara as the photographer and a guest at the wedding was a pleasure. As some people know it can be awkward and tiresome at times as it can become such a long day with so many photos being taken, but it was the complete opposite with Tara. She was easy going to work with and it was very natural as the photos did not feel forced. We had a small intimate wedding with close family and friends, there were 20 people at the ceremony and 40 people at the dinner, Tara fit right in with our small group. Tara has an eye for impromptu moments, we were headed back into town from our ceremony that was on top of a cliff overlooking the Valley, when she told us to stop because she had an idea. We got out of the truck and she captured the most beautiful photo on the middle of the highway with the mountains in the background, it was definitely a highlight of the day. My husband loves golfing, and we were fortunate to be able to sneak on to the course to take some photos. It didn’t even feel like we were taking photos, it was so fun and laid back. She also surprised us with some very meaningful photos, Tara had asked us about our family history and how we grew up. Both my husband and myself come from a logging background and our fathers still work in the logging industry. Tara was walking around the yard of my childhood home and came across my dad’s chainsaw, she asked him if she could use it for some photos. She used the chainsaw and our wedding rings to capture some absolutely beautiful photos. As I did not know about it at the time, it was extra special to see as a memory of our wedding day when we received our photos. I could keep going on about how great of a photographer Tara is, but I will leave it at that you will not be disappointed to have her for any of your photography needs!

Highly recommend Tara!! We had an awesome experience doing our family portraits with her and will definitely be back for more. My husband and I loved Tara’s laid back, welcoming demeanor- you easily can tell from the photos how comfortable we all felt around her (including our six month old daughter!). Tara was very responsive over email, and helped us with all of our silly questions and preparation ahead of the shoot, which was amazing. I was not expecting such detailed and helpful responses to my questions! Our photos are gorgeous and really show off both our family as well as Fernie’s beautiful scenery. I should also mention that as an added bonus Tara edited and turned them around super quickly! The web interface is very easy to use so we were quickly able to share with our friends and family with no hassle.

There is no place or person I would rather go to for photos than Tara Hill. We hired her to take photos for our elopement, but she did so much more than that. Her bandwidth for organization, attention to detail, emotional control and environmental and preparedness is off the charts amazing. This woman thinks of everything. My wife and I had an unconventional wedding to say the least. It was rushed and we were very much unprepared. Tara came in and took so much off of our plate. She helped Arie (my now wife) plan the entire day. From wake-up time, to getting ready, leaving in the morning, arrival time, preparation at the site and of course the stuff we actually hired her for, everything involved with capturing our perfect day. My favorite memory of working with Tera was her ability to adapt and think quickly so that Arie and I could still have a perfect day. The night before our elopement there was a bad storm and the main road to our destination was completely shut down. Tara texted us to let us know. (Arie and I had no ideal). Avoiding utter panic by Arie and myself she presented us with a plan. We would leave at the original time previously planned. If the road was not yet clear, we would take an alternate route that she had found. That route was a bit longer and had snowy conditions but would get us there so not only did she basically plan the whole day but when something threatened our experience (that we didn’t even know about) she was there with a backup plan to save the day. Not only that but if that plan didn’t work, she had found two other locations that were on the way just in case we could not get there. If not for her amazing preparation, cool head and quick thinking Arie and I would have left for our perfect day only to find roads closed and with no back up plan. Oh and our photos turned out absolutely amazing! Her vision and passion for her trade is very apparent in her work. If you want to be able to look at your wedding photos 40 years from now and be instantly brought back to one of the most important days of your life look no further you have found the photographer you are looking for! Hire her! Hire her! Hire her! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
