With great frustration I am writing this in response to the service I receive from Don's Photo. After a marathon of rigorous follow-up, I got a call yesterday to pick up my camera from Regina office with status as under; Clean image sensor and mirror box FOCUSING SCREEN IS SCRATCHED Courtesy Repair Repair Invoice number 00040061, Date 2018-10-03. When I received the camera and checked at the Don's Photo, it still has dust in view finder. So which type of service it has gone through, Please explain. I have shown the same to the representative - Arthur Ward and he could also find dust in view finder. This time it is more than what it was at the time when given for cleaning. He changed the lens with the one from the shop and still could see the dust in view finder. Till today I was under impression that there is a problem with the supplier who does not deliver the part to you but now there is a problem in basic cleaning and service also. I do not accept such inefficient service and reject the job you have done. I am not sure if you have professional staff to do the job but this raises a question on the quality of the service you provide to the customer. At the end of 45 minutes of struggle I have been given another Repair invoice - ID 12909 and Camera is sent back for cleaning and service again!!! I want to contact the Director/President of Don's photo and have a word with regarding the issue. Can any one provide this details or should I find it out my self. Expecting your best response.

I was recently looking for a lens that was hard to find in a few stores. Canon had a sale, and because I am a cps member I get a little extra off. I had first called photo central as they have been my go to people . I asked if I could apply my cps discount on top of the same price and I had felt they brushed me off and said they would have to look in to it when I was there in person. Also that he would have to order it in. I happen to work across the street from Dons and one day on my lunch break I decided to call them and ask them about the lens and the cps discount. The guy on the phone was super friendly and offered to look into it for me right then and there on the phone with out me asking him to do it. I asked him to put the lens on hold for me . By the time I got to Dons he had all the paper work filled out for my discount and such that all I had to do was swipe my card. Thank you for great service , I think I found my new go to camera store!

I ordered Christmas cards in the middle of November - they said it would take 5 business days. It has now been several weeks, it is almost Christmas and when I called, they have no idea when the cards will be ready. They just say they are too busy. I will have to go out and buy commercially available cards now instead of sending a personal picture to my family and friends. I will NEVER use Don's Photo for this work again. Later... I have just ordered my Christmas cards from Vistaprint - I used them before and they are very good. Should have gone there in the first place! They guarantee delivery in 3 DAYS. I will get them before Don's, which I ordered WEEKS AGO. Again...It is several days later and Don's STILL has no idea when it will print and deliver my cards. They also refused to cancel my order. Consequently, I have filed a complaint with the Winnipeg Better Business Bureau that they will not cancel my order since they can't seem to deliver the cards.

I was met with the most informative staff that absolutely answered every newbie question I had and didn't try to upsell me or rush me (even stayed open a little later to answer everything in detail) . Great staff and was very surprised by their impressive stock. I walked in without much hope of finding a specific item (Canon ST-E3-RT) I needed, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. Their prices are fair, not the lowest, but also not the highest. It's really great having a store in the prairies to put your hands on camera gear instead of blindly purchasing online.

I came here last night and got there 15 minutes before close due to work and this being the only time I could make it down in the past couple of weeks. I had a super urgent request as my father is diagnosed terminally ill and was given a very short timeline. The only thing he would of wanted this Christmas was pictures of me and my siblings as he never had any of us. There was a lady I believe by the name Amanda and a gentleman in which I cannot remember the name of but they were absolutely fantastic and helped me with my urgent request. They also put in a roll of film for me, and gave me an appraisal for the camera with the filters and lenses I had if I choose to sell it eventually. I used Don's to get my PR card photo done a few months ago but the IRCC subsequently stopped accepting physical photos due to COVID-19. It did not matter how I scanned the photos and sent them in digitally, my submissions were rejected a couple times. Finally, I gave up and went back to Don's where they re-did the photos sent me an email with a digital copy and refused to charge me for their time, effort and outstanding service. Visited the store recently to buy a remote shutter release for my camera. I was greeted by a young lady called Samantha, and she helped me in choosing the right remote after explaining the differences between different devices. I casually mentioned that I was also looking to buy a telephoto lens sometime, but was still doing my research. Samantha asked about the specific lenses I was looking on, and she went and grabbed both lenses for me, and after asking about my specific camera body, she also went and got that for me, mounted one lens on the body, and gave it to me to try. I spent some time testing the first lens, after which I asked her to mount the other one for me, and I did the same with it! While I was enjoying playing with the lenses, she would explain the differences between them and the pros and cons of each. Very knowledgeable and customer focused. At the end, I left the store buying only the remote, but I almost reached a decision about which lens I want to buy, and will sure return to the store to get it soon! From a happy customer, thank you Samantha and keep up the excellent work you're doing :)

I don't usually leave bad reviews, but my boyfriend and I went in to pick up his developed pictures and the employee who was helping us seemed to be completely annoyed with us even being in there at all right from the start. He treated us like we were a huge inconvenience for him and rolled his eyes when we tried to get help from him. When I boyfriend went back in to try to get help one more time he got an even more rude response from the same employee and he told him he was too busy to help him and he didn't have time to look for his pictures, continuing to roll his eyes. Super unhappy with this. I know sometimes we have hard days in customer service, but nothing gives any employee the right to treat people like that.

Blown away by the exceptional customer service. I wandered in looking for a new camera to do some video work. Didn’t really know for sure what I wanted, but had done a bit of research. They were incredibly helpful and open minded in helping me pick something (in fact, I wasn’t even sure I was going to buy one for sure that day). The knowledge and effort they put in to help me select the right mode not just for my immediate needs, but for the future was exceptional. Fast forward to a few days later. I saw Best Buy had the same camera deal (price plus a bag), but also included an extra battery. On a long shot, I sent them an email to see if there’s anything they could do to match. A few days went by, but when they were able to get back to me, they said a battery was waiting at the desk for me. Now that’s customer service! You’ve just made a loyal customer for life.

Not the friendliest at all, and really needs training on customer service, or i maybe wrong. Maybe they are are just good with people they know, but to unassuming customer, certainly there's an air of snobbishness. I requested to be informed if they have a stock of Canon 85mm 1.8, but instead i did all the follow up. I let it pass, but it's true what others customer said in here, they just pretend to be busy. I wanted to support local but when i had the chance to buy a Mark IV, the lady at the till said she can't process my request to key in my credit card number because my chip is not working. Told me i need 3 pcs of ID. Some establishment i have no problem with such stuff, and i just had to sign anyways. But i guess not a lot of option given to their customer. I walk out, and ordered at Best Buy instead.

Don's Photo Saskatoon is excellent. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable with the gear they sell. They are also not afraid to offer their opinion if asked - that is very helpful when you are faced with dry technical stats on various products. On more than one occasion they have helped me import equipment from Europe and Japan. They kept me apprised of the status and made regular calls to ensure that everything was moving along. I am a co-owner of a local photography studio (Picture Perfect Portraits) and I have personally recommend Don's Photo to walk-in and phone customers who are looking for services that we do not offer or for equipment sales. If you want to get an idea of their professionalism/business model just stand around and listen to the staff interact with customers. They try to understand what the customer's photographic goals are.They are not just trying to sell the most expensive gear - they do not need to, they clearly believe in long-term relationships with customers. Try buying a camera at a big box store and then have the staff take half and hour (or longer) with you as they show you how to use it and get the most out of it. No one at a big retailer is going to do that. Highly recommended.

They let me check my broken lens on one of their cameras to make sure it wasn't my camera that was faulty, best buy absolutely refused to help me even though I called ahead spoke to management and drove across Winnipeg they gave me the run around and even after I told them I spoke to management. It would have taken 5 seconds to test. Dons didn't even hesitate for a second when I asked them!

What a great experience through a very difficult time; we had an oversized photo to be scanned for a memorial tribute. The team at the Portage Avenue location had referred us to the Main Street store (when we explained the quick timeline we had). We were fully prepared that we didn't have enough turnaround time, but went ahead anyway. I had only mentioned it briefly in passing when placing the order with Amanda. She took the initiative to place a rush on the order; we were so impressed to get a call it was ready within a day! The associate will never know that we had torn the photos after getting out of the store. Someone should have some basic ideas before taking someone's photo, especially when making money for that. The staff at Don's Photo in Saskatoon know what they're talking about. Many of them are photographers themselves, and they are extremely knowledgable about the gear they sell and the art of photography and videography. There really isn't any other camera store in town that can offer real advice and expertise. Secondly, they have a huge selection. They carry gear for experts and beginners, and if there is something they don't have in stock chances are they will order it for you or transfer it over from one of their other locations. For the most part, the prices are competitive and they feature sales and discounts often. Of course, photography is an expensive hobby and Don's tends to carry higher quality brand name gear and less generic budget gear. So, if you choose Don's you'll certainly have access to the best gear around, but you might encounter higher prices that you'd find at an electronics box store like Futureshop or Best Buy. If you're a beginner and you're looking for cheap low-cost gear (like me), you may not always find what you're looking for at Don's. I wish they offered camera and camera gear rentals at the Saskatoon location! I've purchased most of my camera and lighting gear at Don's and I'm happy with the service and quality of the products. My only complaint is that sometimes when I'm shopping at Don's, I feel like the staff are really working me for a sale. Often times when I mention a lower cost budget options that I might have seen online, they are quick to shut it down and offer me a more expensive option that they carry in store. Some employees are quite aggressive and try to push me towards certain higher end products because they believe the lower cost options are of detestable quality. While I appreciate them looking out and trying to prevent me from buying junk, sometimes I don't think they aren't willing to understand my budget photography/videography mindset. Overall, great place to go for photography and videography in Saskatoon!

Overall the pricing, product selection, and staff is all really great. When looking for a new camera body the gentleman I was chatting with did try getting me to spend quite a bit more than my budget - however once I made it clear my budget was firm, he made appropriate recommendations based on what I was after. Note that while some "instant printing" is available in the store, most of it goes to Winnipeg to their pro lab there. Turn around is surprisingly quick but you need to allow shipping time when you place your order. Nice to see that Saskatoon still has such a full service camera store - they are getting harder and harder to find.

If there ever was a reason to not use Amazon, this is it. My mother has a Sony one shot and its recharging port was permanently damaged. Most salespeople would strongly recommend it be destined for the trash (and a potential up-sell to a new camera for them!). Not only did they offer a much more economical solution (external charger) they were incredibly patient and kind with my mom. Highly, highly recommended. Spend the extra few bucks to keep our local economy going and support these great people!

Extremely disappointed: online order for curbside pickup on December 13th (due to Covid-19 restrictions) and NO news since. I sent 2 emails to different addresses, NO response. I phoned the store and the person didn't even look to see if there was a problem : she just sent me back with a "if you haven't been contacted, that's it. not ready". If an item in my order is not available in store, maybe it would have been possible to offer me a partial pickup, or the possibility of taking an equivalent item, or refunding the missing item, but no they don't give a damn of that, they cash on order and don't even bother to communicate. I don’t recommend

The worst photo store in Winnipeg. Everyone ignored me for at least 20 minutes while I walked around. So I had to ask for help. And when the girl finally helped me she sighed and acted like she wanted to get back to looking at the computer as if I was taking up her time. I went to the other location downtown in the summer and it was a much better experience, they said hi when I walked in and were friendly. This place made me feel like they didn't want my business so I left. Is it even the same company???
