Has everything. Normally a good place to shop until the last time. Staff member in self check out was rude and condescending when ringing in bananas incorrectly. Plus we were berated with insults because my bf made a comment about the self check out taking away jobs. Management assured us she would be reprimanded. We dont know if she was or not. Attn staff: never insult your customers by calling them names. We spend a lot of time and money in walmart which goes towards paying your wages. Thanks.

It would appear that no one works there or they really aren't into customer service but what should I expect, it is Walmart after all. It's always an adventure when I come into this location. On my most recent vist all of the debit/credit machines were down for 20 minutes. I choose to stay and linger to see if they start again and sure enough they did. Usually pretty clean except the bathrooms. Which I avoid at every cost.

I've been to lots of Walmarts in Canada and the USA over the years and I found this one to be a little worse for wear. Granted it was just a few days after Christmas so maybe they had been exceptionally busy. The staff didn't seem to keen to help my son and I find what we were looking for. Side note, is it just me or does this store have a weird smell? Is that because it rains on the Island so much? Or is there some other issue with the location? Curious nonetheless.

Decent prices on everyday items and weekly sales make Wal-Mart a good place to shop for your daily needs or weekly grocery trip. The selection at this location isn't as diverse as most locations and there were a few things that you may have to make a second trip to another store. No frozen foods or produce at this location and only some of the dairy items that one might need. Also no McDonald's at this location so no before shop snacking if that's your kind of thing. Either way, a good location to check out if you are passing by and need to do some quick convenient shopping.

While I was very impressed with covid protocols in place and availability of staff to help me through technical issues, I still found the experience of instant printing a bit stressful. I would very much like to see updated equipment to ensure a more efficient and easy process that involves less hoops to go through. Between waiting for folders to load (which they never did) and switching between USB applications (which didnt load the photos) and app (which involved lots of settings, wifi connections on two different networks, and not loading of photos), the customer service representative had to restart the machine after we tried two computers. With a growing line and increased anxiety, I decided to leave without getting any photos..

This is not a supercenter, but does still carry a wide variety of items at the typical Walmart price range. I do appreciate the fact that you can get electronics, Band-Aids, kids toys, and clothing all in the same store. This particular location is part of a group of good stores attached by a central indoor walkway. If you can't find what you were looking for, it might not be that far away.

THANK heavens for AMAZON!!! I get what I want delivered to my door, for free, at the same price or less than the nightmare I have to endure with some of the Walmart employees. No gas expense, no searching for parking. No bad attitude from staff when I point out that something is on sale and being scanned at full price. God forbid they have to go check the sign clearly posted on the shelf. I know that some don't have the luxury of having a credit card to be able to avoid this situation but I do know a way to get around this. Contact me for info.

I ordered my christmas photos from here as I do every year. I always order very early, so I have enough time to send to family over seas. Early Wednesday morning I got an email saying that my photos were ready for pick up. I went Thursday evening to pick up and waited for 20 minutes before being told that they couldn't find the photos, perhaps the shipment hadn't been unpacked, and to come back tomorrow. I understand that things happen and this is the fault of a poorly automated email notification system, however I did have to drive out of my way to go pick up. The next day I connected with customer service, and was told that the photos were still missing, and they would have to do a reprint, but I'd have to wait another 8-12days. I told them that this wouldn't work with my timeline, and asked if they could please upgrade to the one-day print option. To me this seemed reasonable, as it is their error, it is a 10 cent per photo difference, which would cost them an extra $6. They told me no, I could either wait the 8-12 days or be refunded. I chose to be refunded and then discovered that Staples photos are cheaper and offer same-day pick up. TLDR: Go to staples, it's cheaper, ready sooner, and Walmart doesn't care about their customers.

It's just what you expect from Walmart. Handicapped accessible parking, entrance and wide aisles. Handicapped accessible public bathrooms. Plenty of parking, but always busy. This location is attached to Woodgrove Mall, accessible from the shared parking lot and through an adjoining indoor walkway. (Convenient for bad weather) There is also a McDonald's location inside the Walmart store. (Adjacent to the cashier/checkout stands) This being a "Superstore" Groceries are available in addition to the expected Clothing, Electronics, Housewares, Pharmacy, Sporting goods, Pet supplies and Seasonal Offerings. In the Spring and Summer the Garden Dept is open, and during this period there is also a very convenient door located in this area. (Helpful to avoid the constant crush of humanity entering and exiting through the main entrance) It has everything you expect to find at a Walmart, but as always, they have no stock, so if it's not on the shelf, they are out of the product until the next shipment arrives. By going online to Walmart.ca , you can check to see if the item you want is available in store and you can order the item (s) to be delivered, or to be ready for you to pickup at a later time. (I haven't tried ordering from the website myself but it is an option that Walmart is advertising heavily in-store and online) The employees are generally Very Helpful and Friendly, though the store is often understaffed. The quality of products is varies depending on the department you are in. For example; Electronics, Housewares, etc carries many Name Brands that can be trusted to be reliable and have manufacturers warranties. The quality of produce is often low, I recommend looking carefully at each item and avoiding the "packaged" items that you cannot fully inspect. In the rest of the store I recommend you always inspect the items carefully before purchasing, the store is reasonable about refunds, but better to not purchase faulty goods, then to have to make an additional trip to return them. As Always, Buyer Beware.

(Note: I’m not sure why this review went under Walmart Photo Centre; it was more about the full Walmart experience. I have never used their photo services so I have no specific take on this.) Well, it's Walmart. As I was walking through I actually thought to myself "You don't come here in search of quality items, you come here because it's cheap." And it is, at least in quality though not always in price. And you get what you pay for. But it fits the bill now and again. I hate that I'm supporting this company but sometimes, you just don't want to pay a lot for a limited use item.

Walmart works very hard to be the same as every other store in it's franchise. It has succeeded here. While not as bad as the US customers, one can certainly see some oddballs roving the aisles occasionally. People aside, on weekends there is a shortage of cashiers for shoppers with over 20 items. By Saturday afternoon, the grocery shelves are rather bare in places, which is rather frustrating. The pharmacy randomly opens and shuts, although this does not seem to occur as often lately. In summary, it's a discount shopping experience, so putting up with the disadvantages is a necessary evil.

This morning I called 5 times . The first two I spent waiting more than 20 minutes each Time with phone ringing and no pick up . So I called again . The person was rude and had a bad additude. I asked to speak to seasonal regarding in store stock. Only to be put on hold for anither15 minutes . Then had the same person answer phone and then hang up on me. Oh my God. Terrible. The busiest I've ever seen Walmart and to make matters worse, the Express lines were all closed with a rope across them. There were lines back to the door and it took me over 20 minutes just to check out. Two thumbs way down.

Was checking my items through self check out ( even though I don’t work there). The employee there came over right before I was about to pay and quickly went through my bag. When I asked if something was wrong she said “no just waiting to take your basket”..... then she proceeded to watch while I paid. I went directly to customer service to return all the items I bought. I have never been treated this way. We will never return to this store. Horrible place to shop

IF THEY LOSE YOUR PHOTOS THEY WILL TAKE ZERO RESPONSIBILITY!!! When I went to pick up prints I ordered online, it was no where to be found and I was told to leave my contact info and will be contacted if they find it. The next day I received a call telling me they have not received my order and was probably in delivery still, I checked the tracking information after and it verified that a Debbie had taken in the shipment, so I had my brother call walmart again and they told him they found the order. I went to walmart to pick it up and they couldn't find it again. A lady that was there the previous night came and told me they never got my order and I need to be patient and wait a couple days, but it clearly says on the tracking it was delivered 4 days ago, if they didn't have it now why would it show up later. Nobody said anything or didn't know when I asked if thre was a Debbie that works there, because if they can confirm there's a debbie that was on shift that day they would know the package arrived. Also the lady that told my brother it was disappeared altogether too. Overall their attitude was very poor, it was clear they had lost the package but nobody wanted to take the responsibility to even apologize and redirect me to call center, everyone was making excuses about never receiving the order, that the tracking was wrong, not even once acknowledge that maybe it was lost by an employee. Really unpleasant experience, probably wont ever order photos from here again

For anyone from Nelson: this is NANAIMO not NELSON. ok now on to review the store itself smells really bad. i dont know if it happened recently or its always been there but its definately been there my past 3 visits. products are only a little bit cheaper than the rest of the stores here in NANAIMO. the shelves are always empty and things are very hard to find. i would hardly recomend walmart for anyone to shop at. not only do they waste your time but also your money. i bought a few dry foods here only to find them EXPIRED when i get home. produce is always ROTTEN and if it isnt already gone bad in store, it will in a few hours in your home. people please remember quality over quantity. workers are the least helpful. never know what im looking for even if i explain a million times. most dont know where anything is. most of the time very rude. again ive recieved better service else where. parking lot is ridiculous. to busy and frustrating. i dont understand why people want to shop here that much. its not worth coming here at all.

Shame on the evening manager who had the nerve to wear the walmart yellow vest, with a slogan printed at the back that says Happy to Help, and yet disrespect and treated a customer whose only inquiring and asking simple questions, and when she got annoyed,,dismisses and wave her hand in my face and turned her back and treatens and called for security , this happened in the Customer Service desk, What a poor demonstration of leadership as a manager, acted nd none whatsoever even a hint of Customer Service characteristic. I have to wonder, how in the hell that walmart chose this person to lead by example to her fellow employee? However, cudos to her fellow employee who treated my inquiries with sincerity and respect, and showcase her ability on how to handle, professionally such delicate things, and gave her utmost customer service. She should be more fitting in leading by example.

This Walmart profiled a teenager , she was dressed quite normally but they discriminated against her and would not allow her access to the store. They humiliated and shamed her, made her cry and escorted her to the car where her mother was parking. Wow as if we weren't having enough problems with covid-19! You should be ashamed of yourself Walmart oh, it's not as if you're some high-end store. Area for crafts and fabrics for sewing. Pet section for all needs. An electronic area from phones to TV's. Automotive and mechanic's section. Will put on tires they sell, oil changes, turn ups to velichle inspections. Fix what ever to keep you safe while driving on the road.

Sadly they have replaced all the cashiers with automated check outs.... the checkouts obtrusively record you’re face on a screen and are considerably slower to get thru ☹️.... really frustrating if you have produce!!!! Also heard from friends and family about the responses from complaints... sadly they justify it as their right to record video and they haven’t laid anyone off... unfortunately they seem to have lost touch with the importance of human interactions and customer service...
