The store manager was very knowledgable and took the time to show me all the different machine options highlighting the differences, attachment options and their function, and explain the different vinyl types and what their purposed for when I was purchasing a Cricut. I felt like when he was assisting me I was the only priority and did not feel rushed or pressured. Until this moment I had forgotten what a great retail experience felt like. The staff tends not to be terribly knowledgeable, although they've been consistently friendly with me. They're missing a lot of things expert crafters need, and when they do have such things, they're frequently in spots that don't make sense (for example their fabric-marking pens/chalk are sometimes with the child colouring pencils and sometimes with the calligraphy supplies). Always overpriced. Never buy anything unless you have a coupon.

Items listed on sale sold out. Lack of floor personnel to get help. Most of their products are extremely expensive and only reasonable to purchase if you have a coupon, or if something is on special like buy 1 get 2nd one free. I know its really 50% off each purchase but still not a bad deal. Don't like when they offer items at purchase 2 an 3rd item free, when you figure it out not such a great deal. Usually have only one cashier on, so line ups are long.

This Michael's was a pleasure to shop at. There was ample parking, even for 11 days before Christmas! The store had plenty of Christmas items for 60% off and really good sales on the regular stock. I was most impressed that there was staff on the floor who asked me if I needed help finding anything. At my location, you usually can't find anyone to help you. Checkout was a breeze. I'm very happy with my purchases and with the whole experience!

Over priced--Many items I can get at dollar tree for $1.25, but Michael's will charge $5 or more. The only reason I go there sometimes is because selection is limited in lethbridge. But, if you know where to look, nearly everything can be found in other stores for less. The plus side to Michael's is that it's all under one roof.

I went in to find something I can do on my own as I have been down 8 1/2 months from surgery and then a broken neck!! I wanted to start some form of physio on my hands and arms to strengthen them!! I found the store pretty cleared out, whether ppl are shopping early for Christmas or they haven't recvd any stock in their store!!?? I had a great sales representative help me and I eventually got something to paint and the paints to go along with it!! I was happy with my purchase and the patient sales representative who was all smiles was so gracious!! The checkout individual was extremely polite and I really appreciated my excellent experience there!! I have to say the best service I have recvd in a very long time and I'd highly recommend them from my experience!! I hope they do get a shipment of stock to replenish store though!!

Don’t shop without the coupons as there is almost always a coupon for 40% off. Use the app it makes the flyer easier to follow for coupons.

Unprofessional. My wife bought a gift from the park place Michaels and had to cancel the order. She was told to just leave it be and not pick it up and it would automatically be canceled and our money returned to credit card. We never got our money back. Turns out they gave the item to some random person. The manager Natasha was snarky and said they could not refund our credit card on store level. Not sure what that means. She wanted us to drive an hour to get cash during a pandemic. She would not give us a phone number to talk to someone with higher authority. Not a very nice experience.

Not only did I find it hard to find anything in the store, but I purchased two "chalk boards" that clearly stated on the tags that they were chalk boards, only to bring them home and not be able to use chalk with them as the chalk would not show up.

If you find things on sale, or get their promotions, it's great. Most of the time, the customer service is helpful. Though, double-triple check what they suggest to you. I asked for help with something specific, I trusted their selection without reading it. My mistake! I ended up ruining quite a few items that I was working on. There was no fixing them. I used to find Michael's quite expensive years ago so I avoided going there even though they always had a lot of good inventory in their stores. However I've been going quite regularly this year finding most things in a very reasonable price range and very good sales all the time. Picture frames are more than I would spend but I always find some that are nice enough for a price in happy with. They have 2 for 1 sales all the time. Craft supplies are well stocked in huge varieties of lower priced items in most departments. I would highly recommend Michael's to anyone looking for art and craft supplies. They will likely have what you're looking for in a variety of price ranges including items in low price range. They are not a sewing store and do not carry much in fabrics other than some very small pieces but they do have other sewing supplies like pins, needles, sewing scissors, bobbins, etc. They have a huge department for scrapbooking, painting, floral arranging, many home decorating supplies, crochet and knitting, some woodworking. You can find a much wider range of items at Michael's than any other store that carry similar items like Walmart, fabric stores or dollar stores. And there are a lot of items for any budget.

I love the coupons but they have started pushing the email only coupons now which means you have to sign up for the 2 to 3 emails they send you a day. *Update April 2020 They've started taking your ability away to use coupons on expensive items. They put a label up that says "value Price" and say no discounts can be added to them. And now they've gotten rid of the 40% off coupons and changed to 20%. Not sure if this is because of covid-19 or not but I hope not. One of the only reasons I like Michaels is the awesome coupons they provide.

Its ok for a craft store, albeit to be honest I used to get more selection from local craft stores before this store phased them out. Prices are crazy, but there is a moderate selection for certain "in" items; any off the radar type crafts might need to search a bit to find the items, or accept defeat and order online.

Had to restore to buying puffy fabric paint, For the leading g on glass. and clear Elmer's glue, to mix with the arcylic paints . Not everyone can afford the Beautiful Decoart kits. Glass paints. Even with a coupon. Off to Staples for carbon paper. I usually have lots to spend at Michael's But during this horrible Panidemic, cutting corners its stressful every which way.

Took 10 rings before someone answered, then it took over 5 waiting, so I had to hang up and call again. ...and I just don't have a ton of time to sit and wait for answers when searching for materials for projects. However, the second call went through on first ring! YEAH! But, still waited and waited for the person to pick up in the other part of the store. Finally, another person answered, AND she went to the department to check on the item! GOOD FOR HER! They were very busy, however, someone just needs to pick up, say so at the department end, and then get back to me:) That way I and others are not left hanging! They never have their items priced. It’s almost impossible to get any assistance. And the worst part is their selection of clay. They only carry Craft Smart (the worst), and sculpey 3 (literally the next in line), but they never have actually any in stock anyway. They have Fimo leather effect, but it’s for very specific projects. And they all had different, unlabelled/unmarked prices. Worst selection for crafts, which is strange because it’s a craft store. Come guys, order some real clay, actually have it in stock, and priced. Also I couldn’t find any watercolour paints that weren’t pastel, and/or glittery. They had very little resin in stock, and even fewer tools for these crafts. There were other items that weren’t in stock as well. I will say though, the cashiers are very quick, polite, and helpful.
