Advertised on the map as a computer store, but was not able to find a Blu-Ray drive for my PC. If you're looking for a laptop they might have you covered, but component selection was limited, at least where it was visible. I was offered no assistance despite waiting at the service desk with quite a number of staff passing me by. Heard lots of hard-sell for geek squad subscription service. I'm not personally familiar with it but extended warranties do not pay off on average.

It's a terrific place to go if you like standing around for 20 minutes while employees and managers ignore you instead of offering help every time. Seriously, it's so bad that you could probably walk out with a 50" TV and no one would even notice. The only time they actually put in a decent effort is during the Black Friday to Boxing Day period. Rest of the year, good luck. I once asked an employee for help after waiting 10 minutes, was told "I'll be right with you", and then he went straight over to a lady in the next isle that had *just* arrived and offered her help instead. Honestly, it takes genuine effort to fail this hard at basic customer service. Also, their refurb. computers are hilariously scammy. I've legitimately seen them charge more for low-end rebuilds than the price of new and higher-spec'd laptops. Good way to prey on people that don't know their tech. You're better off going to another tech place in town. Any of them will do a better job than these goofballs at Best Buy.

I bought a very expensive computer from here in 2012. After 2 previous machines literally melted down, they gave me a third. I paid a MINT for it. Always seemed to be clogged up with no space even though I only do word processing and basic stuff. The geek team at the counter always told me they backed things up and data transfer etc..... Turns out....I took my tower to a different place. The guy opened it up. THE HARD DRIVE WAS STUCK ON WITH DUCT TAPE! Not functioning. Ever. These people don't care about their customers. Don't trust them! I will never buy anything from Best Buy ever again. It's a joke.
Bought a smart tv, sound bar, tv stand and computer at the end of October 2018. I paid for the elite delivery and install service. I was told by the salesperson (one of the managers) that they would assemble the stand and mount the tv, set up tv and sound bar and set up the computer. I got a phone call the day of the ( December 23rd) install and was told that they don't assemble stands, mount tvs on stands or set up sound bars or computers. I went out to the store and was told by another manager that I really didn't pay for the install since the price of the tv and sound bar were discounted. I checked my bill and instead of paying the full price I paid half price. Regardless, I was originally told all items would be installed and set up. The installers showed up and set my tv on the floor as I had cleared the room for them to put the stand and tv in. They plugged it in, checked that everything worked, brought the computer, sound bar and stand in the house and explained the install program to me. I have no issue with the installers, however it was quite frustrating to find out on the day of I was told that nothing other than the tv would be set up. Also, I was called once to me know my computer was ready and they told me they would call again when all products were ready for delivery. I never got the second call and ended up going to the store to find out where my items were and when they would be delivered. All in all it was a very frustrating situation and the store employees I spoke to did nothing to help. If you buy from them you should read all the fine print and not listen to the salesperson about delivery, install and warranty info
Really big with huge discounts and a wide variety of gadgets and CD's. This is one of the few places where you can purchase phones off contract.
There's not a lot of stock on shelves in Best Buy these days as they have gone to a more "Apple Store" like approach for their computers on electronics. If you really want something you have to see an associate and wait for them to get it out of lockup excetera but I understand why they do that. I do like that the staff are helpful and don't pressure you since they're not on commission even though it is their job to sell you stuff. I think I prefer doing my best buy shopping online and then having it set aside for store pickup or shipped now.

I’ve completely stopped buying product from Best Buy. Again and again and again, I come here to shop or to see a product before I buy online and I’ve never had much help. We came here to BestBuy to play Xbox and noticed disappointed that the controllers are not working. We where told that "there is nothing that we can do about it". After 10 minutes we fixed the problem on ourselves. One controller was still broken and the staff was not helpful at all. To make it even worse, we where kicked out of the store 10 minutes before closing time in a very rude manner.

I have had nothing, but good experiences every time I visit Best Buy orillia. The first time I went in was just a browse but later I went and purchased my gaming PC and the employee was very patient and helpful. A few weeks later I had a power supply issue yesterday and brought it in today. I was completely expecting to have to purchase a new power supply or surrender it to the manufacturer under warranty for who knows how long. The employees I dealt with were polite, amazing and were honest with me. They straight up offered an exchange which I didn’t know could be done since I thought it was 14 days, they let me know it was on sale now and gave me $300 back which I then used for a 3 year warranty with them because wow! Best customer service I’ve had in a long time, If I could give 10 stars I would.

Slightly less of a computer section and very little in the way of computer hardware but for accessories like keyboards amd mice...they have a lot. Was essentially cornered with my girlfriend, looking at cheaper 4k TV's for our room, and a blue shirt would NOT leave us alone and kept trying to test myself and my girlfriend's knowledge of various TV's despite not knowing basic things such at peak brightness, panel type, etc himself.

No way to call the store. I called the Help center and they said it is too Inconvenient to call the store! I can see why Amazon does so well! Best buy doesn't want to talk to their customers? I guess they don't really care about my business either! I was calling to see what Solid state drives they had in store and ready immediately. The website listed stores all over Canada but couldn't find mine. UPDATE! So I ended up going to the physical store where they had loads of 2 TB SSD drives for sale. Well the boxes were on the shelves. so I took a box and went to the till to get one, where I was told that they have none in stock. When I asked why they have all the boxes on the shelves I was told "so I could order it online" If I was going to order it online I wouldn't have came to the store stupid!! This place doesn't even deserve the one star!!
Purchased a TV on Tuesday July 21st.The sales rep I believe Bret was very helpful and patient with us explaining everything we wanted to know about the TVs. It was a pleasant experience although when I got home after a 45 minute drive I could not find my receipt. I tried phoning but the Best Buy stores will not answer calls at this time because of the virus. I don't want to drive another 90 minutes just for a receipt. It is frustrating not being able to contact anyone unless you go personally to the store.
Took my computer in to Geek Squad because it was not loading properly. They checked it out and found it was OK. It was one of my add on that was screwing it up. They did not charge for this which made me so happy I bought a bigger monitor and fancy mouse.

Hello I would Like to take the time to thank the staff at Best Buy number # 953 ,in orilla I went there last Friday to purchase an iPad 9.7 for my husband for his birthday ,I was greeted with enthusiasm and professionalism . my sales person Chris was absolutely amazing very helpful very thoughtful and very diligent on getting me what I wanted . also the manager and general manager Ken and Ruby were amazing With me and I noticed how they treated their staff with integrity and respect .( which is very RARE). DON'T buy BEST BUY!!! My husband got this terracopter for Christmas that was having some pretty major problems from the moment we took it out of the package. Came defective. So, we take it back to best buy to get another one or a refund, whichever. Anyways, the lady takes one look at my husband and says "Once the box is open, you have to take it to the manufacturer. We will not return it once the box is open". Umm, excuse me? This is not a cheap toy for my husband, and you don't back up your products? If it comes out of the box defective, you won't return it? We have to pay for it to go to the manufacturer to be fixed? What kind of company are you? What a joke!! I will never again purchase another thing from best buy, and if you care to be treated like a customer instead of a chump, I suggest the same for you.

Second time in a row, Same issue. back in 2010-2011 went in and asked for a laptop that could run games at regular performance, nothing crazy just 30ish fps and med to high graphics on non AAA titles like TF2 or league of legends. of which i got a gateway laptop for about 500.00 that somewhat met those standards but quickly degraded overtime. More recently i came in looking for a new one because the old laptop couldn't even play TF2 at more than 5fps with nothing but the essential programs running, steam and the game. I requested the same margins for quality and got a 700.00 laptop that the sales rep told me could run GTA V easily. However the laptop i got could even run a 8-bit game of pokemon or a Ps2 Emulation without having severe issues and all the the processors running. when i noticed this and brought it into geek squad they looked at it for a day and nothing changed. turns out the graphics card in the computer it meant for office work, and some reviews even say it's not fit to even do that well. (AMD Radeon R5 quad core) The short of it is do your research before going into the store and don't take what the sales rep's say as fact because they are just trying to make sales on garbage products. (The source tends to have better deals, and more knowledgeable employees anyways)

I have tried two locations in Barrie and NorthBay. Why does a store that sells stereos not have speaker wire? They both told me they had to order it....I would get it in 4 days. There wasn't even an empty place for it on the shelves so they must not stock it. The staff for the most part didnt even seem to know why I was looking for this item. Very poor service! This place really needs to hire staff who knows the company's policies and proper customer service, went there to pick up an important item for my business which I had pre-ordered and found out it had been sold to someone else. Then the only "help" (and I use that word loosely) I got was from rude employees that made it very obvious I, the customer was a bother to them. No I will never again give my money to this specific store and it will be tough for me to even shop at any other future shop location. Worst customer service I have ever encountered.

Barrie has a very large store with huge selection when store is fully stocked. Staff could improve their service skills and pleasantness towards the customers. Asked for assistance with Laptop purchase and their lack of interest cost them our purchase. Took our business to Orillia Best Buy store and they apologized for Barrie store and talked us in to a much higher priced laptop which we are very satisfied with by listening and giving honest advise. Love Best Buy, especially the Orillia location where we have since purchased TV’s, microwave, coffee centre, music systems and all our Google Smart Home accessories and systems. Brandon and team at this store were wonderful as they took time to talk to me about different options and made suggestions that made my visit productive and economical. Brandon ensured with his colleague Arielle that information was accurate and he arranged my Geek Squad appointments so that everything was in place for set-up before I left the store. Even when I left my daytimer behind by accident, one call to Mike at customer service ensured that it was found and return promptly. I was really impressed to get such great service on the long May weekend and appreciate the great customer service! Thanks Brandon and Oriliia team!

As always the people make ALL the difference. Francesco is my go to guy and has been since the original store opened 20yrs+ ago under the Future shop name. I have bought many computers at this location as a result of his service and that of a couple other salespeople. Just last night I ran into the store for some technical advice that NOBODY and I mean nobody could help me with. I spent at least 15hrs searching online, watching videos on a very well documented problem with Windows; This included a 40min chat with a Microsoft tech at Mircosoft and it resulted in zero help. Within 1 minute, Francesco told me how to fix it and move forward. Stunned and in disbelief I went home and tried it and it worked. This is what an experienced tech can do and it is what in part gets me to go back to this location.
A guy there helped me find the right kind of cooler for my cpu and mother board, he was nice too. Very dope fresh I give 12/10 ????????

Came here for Boxing Day. The staff was friendly but I was surprised they didn't know what Jaybird headphones were (we ended up finding them ourselves). The store had opened quite a few cash registers, but we still had to wait a while since the two customers in front of us seemed to have overly complicated transactions (Why would one come with a slew of requests on Boxing Day...? Can staff be faulted for being too accommodating?).

This have become one of my go-to places for music gear. I pick up strings and accessories here and have played some guitars. I enjoy stopping in here mainly because the guys in the music section are so friendly and helpful, and also because they have a decent selection of guitars.

Good store I guess, never seem to have what I am looking for. Most Staff seem to have basic at best knowledge of the products in there area, aswell they push you to upgrade or upsell products. I was actually shocked with my most recent experience here. I have a $25 gift card to here which is really the only reason I keep coming in. I wanted to know the price of 2 video games that did not have price labels so I approached a group of 3 staff I saw. One of the guys turned around when he saw me and pretty much ran away. The other 2 were talking about TV nonsense and instead of saying "oh sorry, one moment ma'am" or something along those lines, they both turned their backs to me after noticing I was waiting beside them and continued talking. I sort of stood there awkwardly, expecting one of them to acknowledge me but it never happened. Annoyed, I turned around to see the till was free. I approached the man at the till and asked if he could tell me the price of these. He says "oh....alright..." And proceeds to pull his phone out. I see him open up Google and type in "best buy video game prices" Uhhhh seriously ? I could have done that. I was expecting him to, you know, use a scanner to tell me but apparently he didn't know how. I dropped the games and left. The service gets more atrocious everytime I go in here.

Joe was extremely helpful helping us upgrade our phone. I offered to transfer our files to the new phone as it was closing time. He insisted that he do it. He also overcame the results of us giving him incorrect infomation (more than once). Through it all, he never stopped smiling.

Disgraceful Customer Service. Purchased 2 Appliances from this store, one of them a floor model. You would think someone would be competent enough to ensure the appliance works before shipping it out to the customer. Upon installation, fridge did not work. Called Best Buy and they direct you to the Manufacturer. In other words....thanks for paying us for 2 appliances....so sorry it doesn't work and hundreds of dollars in food may end up spoiled....call the manufacturer. God forbid that they should be concerned and offer to pick up the faulty unit and replace it with one that they had ensured would actually work. Now scrambling to find a means to save as much food as possible from being spoiled since the manufacturer states that it take 24-48 Hrs for a technician to schedule a visit. Will never step into a Best Buy again.

Wow, the staff are very nice and trying to be helpful but when I can point out 5 or more NON FUNCTIONING displays I have to wonder. Are there franchise locations and some that are corporate owned as this one doesn't seem to care and have to roll with what is left working and that has GOT TO HURT their bottom line.

I went into futureshop and asked about sponsorships; however I was looked at and said, “too old” I was rejected solely based on age. When explaining what it was that I was about to do, or what the sponsorship would be used for: I was interrupted, and told, “it doesn’t matter what your idea, cause or anything along those lines, we only sponsor kids. I’m not sure if that is just for the one store, however I do not intend to find out. False sense of supporting the community.
Not only are you not able to speak with anyone in the store, the lack of signs for curbside pick-up make this store a nightmare to shop at. The ONLY sign that indicates that the door is for best buy is the sign for delivery drivers. We ended up having to go INTO the building anyway just to find out where to pick up, which defeats the purpose of curbside in the first place. We also make a $500 purchase and my ID was not checked. If I could have left less than a 1 star, I would have.
Edit for another occurrence today, Jan 26th, 2021: I added a star today because I got really thoughtful and thorough assistant from Mike with a 65" Samsung TV and the carry out to my vehicle was also great since he pushed the snow out of the back of my truck to load it the best way possible! I'd also like to add that Tracey at Customer Service handled the return of my previously purchased TV exceptionally well by being friendly and completely professional! Well done to everyone today!

Fantastic customer service. Way above and beyond the call of duty. Went in for some technical assistance as my phone was not receiving calls from a particular contact, and the gentleman behind the desk, Milap, would stop at nothing to fix my problem. He called my service provider, the provider of the other phone involved, and a third tech support line to troubleshoot the issue. When none of this did the job he explored our phones himself until he had sourced and resolved the problem. All this without ever neglecting his other customers in store. He and his colleague, also very capable, seemed to have a lot on their hands, but they never for a moment were anything short of extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Definitely recommend this location for any of your mobile needs.

This store is huge, bright, well laid out, the staff is very friendly and more than happy to take the time to answer every question even if your not buying today, they explain everything about your intended purchase including lay away, pick up, delivery and even tell you how long an item will be available at the published or displayed price. There is lots to see and play around with, working models on the floor are as advertised. Great place for your electronics and much more.
Enough options, the price is ideal in some cases. The discount might not be satisfying. I've been to couple of best buy, the service quality is nearly the same.it provides quite floors for you to explore.
I have had two issues with Best Buy First I bought a laptop. Paid the extra for the Geek squad. Laptop was a piece of garbage and I brought this laptop to best buy on 4 seperate occasion. They did Not fix the problem. Decided to try Best buy again . Went on the Canadian site ordered a tv. 2 days after ordering they said it shipped from Florida, Where it sat till I called to complain. They offered y a refund which I am still waiting for I will buy from Walmart over best buy.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL! A SALES PERSON SIGNED ME UP FOR A CONTRACT. I went to this Best Buy recently and while shopping for a laptop, I was helped by a sales person from the specific computer department. The short version: Everything was fine, until I went home and realized that he signed me up for a 5-year GeekSquad contract, that was $240 to cancel. Luckily I was with-in the 30-day period to cancel it without the $240 charge. The long version: While I was in the process of buying the Macbook Pro and was ready to purchase, I found it strange the the sales person told me to hold on while he goes to find me a good price (as in try to give me a deal), which I thought was strange, because a laptop is not like buying souvenirs at a bazaar, where there is wiggle room with the price. When he came back, he gave me two prices per month (I was getting the laptop financed): One price said 195$ per months, the other $180, but that includes $29.99. When I said what the $29.99 was all about, he said that "It's protection that comes with it" and that without that, the price is the $195 (Which was completely false, it would have only been $150 per month). I asked him many more times if there are any hidden things because with the $180 price, I get more and pay less, and that seems strange. He said that that's correct. I've travelled a lot and I come from a culture where sales people can be enthusiastic to say the least, so I am used to asking questions, but he flat-out lied to me. He made it seem like it's obligatory and ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION OF ANY 5-YEAR CONTRACTS or the mention of Geek Squad. No papers were shown to explain anything or to look anything over. No mention of the terms of cancellation. He said that I can cancel it after 8 months, but there was no mention that the 8 months starts when I REQUEST to cancel it. So If I requested to cancel it in January 2020, it would only be cancelled after a $240 penalty would be paid off in August 2020. Also, after I was approved for the financing, he told me that he can include a free computer set up for me and include an anti-virus. I figured that if it"s free, why not. I had to leave the Macbook there. I cam to pick it up later that day and that's when things started to line up. I opened the computer and saw 2 icons on the desktop that said GeekSquad. I called the GeekSquad support number and that is when the person told me that I was put into a 5-year contract with them and told me all of the conditions and the fees (She was extremely helpful and nice). I had to go into the store to cancel it, I couldn't do it over the phone. When cancelling in store, I asked if the offered free set-up was a special deal or came with my contract, and it did, in fact, just come with the sign-up, and was not a special offer, as the sales person had told me. However, the person helping me at Best Buy to cancel everything was extremely nice and knowledgable, so this is just really about that one sales person.

This franchise has gone downhill. I spent 20 minutes milling around the headphones, with another customer nearby, with no sales associates in site. When we both left without making a purchase the majority of the sales associates were having a grand ole social time with each other while ignoring customers. The only ones a I noticed actually doing their jobs were the cashier and the greeter. I guess I'll just buy online and skip this store all together.

Visited there for equipment for my backcountry filming. Found an item on shelf labelled as 9.99. There were three of the same item on same hook. Went to cashier. It prices as 54.99. I showed the problem to person at front. She dismissed it as oh well nothing she could do except remove the price sticker. She even tried to blame it on other customers for switching the prices. I don't recommend this store and will likely buy same item on Amazon instead.

I give one star, because I cannot give 0. I have attempted to shop here on 5 back to back occasions and every time they have had boxes on the shelves, and no product to support it. "we can order it in for you" they say... Does nobody realize this is why buisnesses are shutting down? I can order the product to my front door for cheaper, and I won't need to waste my time coming back in to pick the product up. This is especially Inexcusable as this is there "grand opening sale" despite being open over a year, AND the product in question was released today. I would understand if they were sold out, but according to the staff they didn't even get any in for the release despite being assured it would come in. This is just one more reason to buy from amazon.

I was going for a external hard drives, didn't find it on the external hard drive sections. There were no indication I was required to ask for it (like maybe a card with the picture of the drive that you could bring up to the cash registers). There were only one representative for the whole section who was busy. Other section had two. I came to get help near the cash registers. There were only one employee who talk to the phone for about 8 minutes. Nobody could even pay their purchases. Once I finally had the chance to ask for the external drive, he transferred me to the other section for Internet Pick Up. I do believe that adding "cards" of product like these that can be easily stolen would have made the experience more interesting. Probably would have bought it in 15 minutes instead of the near 30 minutes it took. Employee were somewhat kind, looking a little rushed sometime.

I went in to get a cassette converter, the associate was very condescending and I felt very belittled. He kept talking to me and I just wanted to leave, as I left the sweet door man asked me a question and as I turned to talk to the door man, the associate I had been talking to FOLLOWED ME OUTSIDE. That made me extremely uncomfortable as he stayed outside until I drove away. I found this very unprofessional and honestly pretty creepy.
I needed some AAA batteries, the specific brand I wanted was XR92BP6--and they're difficult to find. Luckyly, I got final pack of 6, and took it to the cash. The first cashier seemed to be unable to scan, and gave it to another person. They quietly spoke among themselves, until the second person muttered, "be a minute." There I waited, now wishing I brought a book, or at least someone having inside information on this ever-changing mysterium tremendum, which has by now, shook us all to the core. The next person, a women with blonde hair, and the confident swagger of a captain on deck, getting things done, saying the right thing, and making everything worth it. What did this supervisor do? She did nothing, but quietly speak to the others, said nothing to me, but heard her tell someone to discard them. The second cashier said, "sorry, it won't go though my system." I said, "Okay," and went home. Overall, I'd say this Best Buy... really isn't strictly the "Best," but also, it's also a challenge to even "Buy" things, displaying a preference for trash--so this Best Buy, can FAIRLY be called, Worst Garbage. I had an odd experience with a Canon lens I bought on a Boxing Day sale. The lens was almost two thirds off the regular price. I got the last one, but the box was very damaged, I went back two more times during the sale and they never got any more stock. I made the mistake of not opening the box to look at the lens for two months! When I did open it, I found that the lens had been used, not repackaged properly and the lens had obvious scratches and was not clean. When I took it back, the guy at the customer service said no way I can do anything for you you've had the product for over 15 days. I asked to see the manager and they offered me an instore credit. I asked to see the store manager and he allowed me to exchange it for a new one. So this was in good faith on their part, though I gave them new money for what I thought was a new lens, which someone obviously used for a week or so and took back during the busy Christmas rush, and was put back on the shelf as "new". The experience wasn't that great, do to the attitude of the customer service guy, who still was treating me like I was BSing them. But they did give me a complete exchange, so I am satisfied. It pays to have them open up any purchase, and check it for use or damage. I notice they routinely do this for TVs for the last couple of years. Customer service really need to check returns as well for use.

But you have this AMAZING staff member Carmen who went way over and beyond to try and help me. She was so kind and helpful. She even help to compare the price to make sure i was getting the best price for my fit bit. She even helped me look for different color bands just so i was happy. I have never had such amazing customer service anywhere else. If it wasn't for Carmen i wouldn't have bought my fit bit there. Considering the fact you didn't have the color or size i wanted and you don't have a band that you can try on so you know your size. I really want you to know how amazing of a staff member she is. A friend of mine picked up her Macbook Pro from Best Buy Kamloops. She was unable to access her computer due to a password change initiated by Best Buy. Having called Best Buy Kamloops twice and talking to an online representative of the 'Geek Squad' we were finally able to get a hold of someone. Still not able to access the computer, they were able to reimburse her with a $25 gift card but we still have to go back to the store for the second times today to get this problem fixed

The first day after we moved to this city we went for purchasing a few items and ink for our printer we knew it was different is a good way from Toronto. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. They have respect for the clients and if you do not understand something tell them and they will suggest from the lowest price to the top and we made the decisions. Before I went in I thought that I was going to need to fight to get a return on a router that I had purchased 47 days earlier. We have been having some real difficulties with our internet at our house and had Cogeco out three times to repair the line and finally change the modem. After this work we still had some WiFi issues with connections dropping and from plugging in an old router I found it was my new router causing issues. I was over the 30 days taking the modem back in but the girl at the counter understood and asked if I wanted a different router. I already had one picked and she placed the order for it right there while doing the exchange. This went from what I thought was going to be a nightmare to a very pleasant experience. Thank you Meg for such wonderful customer service.

What complete terrible customer service! (ORILLIA ONTARIO) (sitting in the best buy parking lot writing this) So last night I come to best buy to get a new headset for my PS4. I picked up the Plantronics RIG400. It was originally priced for $79.99 however I found a deal elsewhere for $59.99 (sold by Plantronics on Amazon shipped by Amazon so it would have been free shipping as it's over $35). It wasn't until they realized they were going to lose the sale did they uphold the Best Buy price match store policy. I get home. Plug in the headset and the incoming audio only works on one side! I tried to change some of the settings on my PS4 as per the support website for PlayStation to rule out an issue with my console. It's not an issue with my console. I come back into the store today with receipt in hand and let them know of the defect with the device that I had purchased not even 24 hours previous. The young lady at the counter tells me that you cannot return a pair of headphones once the box has been opened. Umm excuse me? How on earth are you to determine if they work or not without opening the box? The most she was willing to do was give me store credit. I don't want your lousy store credit. I go over to the headphones and don't see any other pair that I like. However I decided to take the store credit. I come back to the desk and a young man is there with a pair of headphones that broke as soon as he used them (like litterally the earpiece is broken right off). She tells the young man "We cannot return broken headphones unless you do an exchange or in-store credit, we only do returns if there is a defect on the item". I called her out on it. I litterally brought in a pair of headphones that were DEFECTIVE and she tells me I can't process a return, but tells this young man that if it was a defect for his headset he could process a return. What is the difference between my defective headset and the pair that he physically broke? You cannot offer one customer a full return on a product that he clearly cannot return (due to physical damage) yet tell another customer that you cannot a full return on defective merchandise! So I got a $75 VISA gift card which was the easiest way to recoup what I lost. HOWEVER there's a $5.50+ tax activation fee. So it litterally just cost me $6.22 to return merchandise to Best Buy that was defective. To top it all off I tell the girl "Maybe I should just complain on social media then?" (Normally an empty threat I work in customer service for 15 years). However this rep took it an extra step to challenge me and says "Okay go ahead". I will never ever be stepping foot inside on another best buy or affiliated retail location again. I also will not be refering any of my customers (employed by a cellular company) here to purchase any products. When they ask me why? I will tell them this story. Normally when someone complains you get the "they tell 2 people and those people tell 2 people" thing. I speak to 50+ customers a day. Every chance I get while selling cellular or cable or home phone or internet products and accessories you can sure bet I will not be encouraging them to Best Buy (as I previously was). Good tech store, good mobile department. Most of the staff is pretty much unhelpful though. I have literally had 2 staff members talking about their lives while I stood beside them for about 10 minutes awkwardly listening to their conversation waiting to ask a question. I have had helpful staff other times though. It is hit and miss, usually older 30+ year old staff are more helpful than the younger college age employees.
after calling and searching countless stores via the web, the only store in orillia that had a mini usb cable was best buy. i’ll admit, i was hesitant on coming to best buy, but only because i was super crunched for time. the store closes at 7pm, and i arrived there around 6:40pm. as soon as i walked into the store, i was greeted by a friendly face, and with a smile (under the mask, of course.) i told the man what i was looking for, and he called kyle over to help me find the cable. kyle (in training, per his nametag) was great, he was kind, attentive, and super helpful, he helped me find the cable in no time! thank you so much for your help! when i went to go cash out, i wasn’t sure of the protocol, so i asked the man standing there (never caught his name, sorry!) and he told me exactly where to stand and wait, and in about a minute, i was able to be cashed out. jj was very kind, i’d seen them help the customer in line before me, and the customer was so grateful for their help. within two minutes, i was fully cashed out and left the store before close! TLDR; kyle and jj were very helpful and kind, as were the rest of the employees. we found exactly what i needed, in stock, and with a reasonable price. thank you so much for the help, best buy!

Purchased a item online. Was charged twice for the item. Contacted online chat. Was not helpful. Agent ended chat. Called customer service twice. Was told wait 5 days. I asked to contact head office since it was a head office charge and was told i can not because its only through email. How would beat buy like it if i walked into the store. Took a item. I was in the store april 11 shortly before close spoke to a guy at the customer desk to the right of the exit (once inside facing out ) he would not listen to my explanation of my issue and clearly did not know that their is a difference between a cheap chraging cable that can charge your phone and a USB cable that can be used to transfer information or comunicate with another device , my issue was simple my controller would charge but not sync with the playstation when using a cheap charging usb. So in I went to verify my thought. Aswell as purchase a proper cable and was instead told my ps4 may be "toast " or possibly the controller. I then purchased controller and cable because the store was about to close,( now side note the gentleman who dealt with me at cash was very professional and friendly that kid with curly ish hair he can have 5 stars). When I got home turns out i was right and i just needed a 15 $ cable and not an 80 $ conroller which i will be returning , reccomending staff training to educate anyone who is supposed to answer questions on some of the basics like differences between cables and listening

I was in tonight with my 12 yr old son who has been saving his allowance to buy gaming headphones. The sales associate had a lot of knowledge and showed him several different brands and models and have reviews on most of them. My son left with a huge smile and is using then now. He says they are amazing. Very positive experience.

Best Buy North Bay....or should we call them worst buy? Went in to take a look at a television. Nobody in that department. Do, go looking. Where are they? All up front having happy social time. Then nobody seemed to know what department they worked in. Finally got a kid to come with me, and it turned out he knew nothing. My questions were simple. Let's find the remote and see if the tv does what it claims. He couldn't find the remote. Couldn't answer questions. Told me to call the customer service line, get the answers I was looking for then come back and buy it. Yeah, not a chance. There's the reason I never spend more than $50 there and buy all my electronics elsewhere. Oh, and you should stop lying to customers about your scam environmental fee.
I got a new note 8 on a plan and they asked if I wanted a warranty and I said of course I do...now 2 weeks later my phone has a crack and i call to have it fixed n I'm told i dont have a warranty. Never have I been so mad and frustrated with a store and there lack of help..if u have to go there for something avoid the worker name Kyle....now i have to pay 290 bucks for a new screen when it should have been free...last time I ever go there...what a bunch of liars.

I find that the best buy in Orillia is really good and have alot of good employees there that are willing to go the extra mile. However i do feel even after spending alot of money there when i do go to where the tvs are i seem to be ignored and that is after spending now 5k with my tv and my stereo over that actually. Anyway this best buy is really good at the front of the store and when you need returns they are fast and very prompt. I will also give credit where it is due to employees at the back that do know what they are talking about when it comes to your electronic needs. All in in all good place at the front and good at the back when you get service (reason why one star is missing)

If i just know this would happen, I could purchase directly to the apple store and deliver on time but now they ruin it!!

I felt that their staff displayed lack of professionalism, especially when it comes to ASSISTING customers in their store. I've had one of several experiences with their staff being somewhat impolite and inconsiderate. I just feel that they should be more considerate in helping their customers because OUR MONEY pays for their wages.

After a not so great day trying to figure out the best way to upgrade my phone at a variety of other locations I'm grateful I stopped into Best buy at Aberdeen mall and worked with Daniel. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable when it came to not only product into but phone plans and packages as well. I will be going back to see him in the future and I highly recommend that others go work with him as well.
Clean, and filled with products of all kinds that has an electronic board inside. The staff is nice, the prices are not higher than their competitors. The only thing I dislike is their Geeksquad services (repairs and such), usually they will charge a lot for a one week service that takes 30 minutes to google and fix at home.

Good location, used to be futureshop last time I was there. Went in to pickup an online order so I didn't do much shopping but the main desk is right by the front so I was able to pop in and out within 5 minutes. Good staff as well.

Went to Futureshop to pick up somethings. Asked if something was in stock and he says "whatever is over there is what we have." I say "It says it's in stock on your website" in the middle of that sentence the guy turns around and starts talking to his coworker again and completely disregards me. I freaking hate that it's the only place that has certain items. Worst staff ever.
Lots of cool stuff available, however it’s staffed by early 20 somethings and teenagers who stand around and chat rather than helping customers, even if you stand right by them and wait for them to finish their conversations. Even when you do get help they rarely know the answers and don’t go out of their way to find the answer for you either. I’m sure there ARE staff who do a good job, but I have never really came across many.

Well. This was strange. Normally in most retail stores someone will approach you and ask if you need or are looking for anything.it wasn't busy but it seemed like no one was interested in anything but talking to each other. Last time I saw this was at Sears before they shut down in the furniture department. I hope it's not a sign of things to come. As Best Buy is one of my favorite stores. Hopefully they were just having an off day.

Longtime BestBuy shopper not anymore....Out of all the locations I have visited in western Canada. Kamloops has the worst support and service. Hours of operation are the main issue and management won't open early to capture B2B clients. Use to open at 10am and now it is 11am and makes people wait in minus 20/30 instead of opening 10 minutes early. For B2B purchases, I guess Staples or Amazon will get our local business technology purchases.
Customer service is poor. Have had employees doing inventory right in front of me not even say hello or ask if I needed help. Employees lack knowledge in basic computer hardware and provide little assistance. The geek squad in Kamloops lost my laptop that was sent away under warranty. Almost a year later the store in Langley called asking if I was ever going to pick up my laptop.

Always a poor customer experience. Few products in stock. If an employee decides to finally engage, they usually lack any specific knowledge, pull out their tablet and offer to ‘order it online and ship it to our store.’ And that’s why retail stores are dying. You have to provide a customer experience, everyone can order online themselves.

Bestbuy is Bestbuy right....not always. The staff were unusually helpful and courteous. Not sure if it is a smaller town thing (vs Vancouver were you get a sneer if you are not buying right away) but I was extremely pleased with my dealings with them in Kamloops.

I bought a LG smart tv in 2012 and got the extended warranty from best buy/ future shop. And have had nothing but head aches trying to get an exchange using my 4 yr warranty I paid almost $200 for. First off I made 2 appointments through giddens to pick up my tv for repairs, and both times never showed up. So finally I took it to them and they had it for over a week and they said I could go do the exchange at future shop, as there is to many issues with the tv. I go up to future shop and they say I need a authorization number I was not given. So I try calling giddens the next day as they were closed, and they didn't have one to give me as no ones reports had been put under my claim. And so after numerous times calling into geek squad since making another appointment which giddens did not show up again I have had it. I still have not been given a authorization number to get another TV.Both parties are completely incompetent and lack any judgment. I will never deal with them again.

Stood in line with two small children for over an hour to inquire about a plan offer for our cell phone. There was no one else able to answer or direct us. Once we got to the front of the line, the details, which were not available in any of the advertisements, said for new bell costumers only so with over and hour of wait we had our answer in less than a few seconds. What a waste of my time. Poor service and poorly executed.

Any time we go to this location we regret it. There will be 5+ staff members standing in a circle, chatting, and not ONE of them will acknowledge you or offer assistance. We were there today, looking to buy a new phone, and the same thing happened. An older gentleman was waiting at an empty counter, an employee walked right past him and couldn’t even be bothered to make eye contact. We looked around and saw several employees just standing there, meanwhile, we are clearly looking for assistance. We finally gave up and took our business elsewhere. It must be nice to get paid for being lazy.
After extensive research with all the other stores I found this Samsung a71 to be the best price at Best Buy therefore I went there to purchase it on Saturday 28th of November 2020 they had one left in stock they refused to sell it to me because I didn't want a contract. I asked to speak to the manager and she responded that she was the manager they're for refusing to sell it to me because she said we make more money on selling phones with contracts I will not sell you this phone after screaming obscenities at hurt I left for the last time I will never return to the store and nor should you because this store only believes in making money not serving you properly

Bought an awesome 4K Sony 65" TV. Very happy with our purchase. The guy who runs that department is extremely knowledgeable. The younger kids that they have working in the store do not provide the same service.

I tried to call to ask a question about a screen protector that I purchased. They have disabled their phones so if you have a question you have to drive to the store and try and flag someone down. When I got someone's attention, I explained that I tried to call and all I got was attitude and a snarky response of "well our phones are disabled". As a company, I do not think that disabling phones is a good business practice.
Great staff! I bought two ipads, both of which I had to return for very finicky and specific technical reasons and the returns were easy, polite, and very understanding.
Unmotivated staff. In this store I constantly go in because online inventory says an item is available and a staff member who is annoyed with working doesn't even bother to look before saying our inventory is wrong we don't have it. Its waaaaay too often used excuse to get out of having to help a customer. Never forget what these box stores are.
Very poor customer service! Bought a printer on sale and paid the extra money as well for extended warranty that was hyped up by the salesmen. It stopped reading the black ink cartridges embedded microchip within the warranty period. I need a replacement as soon as possible. They will not repair it (the geek squad doesn't do printers), they refuse to give me a refund, they refuse to give me a replacement of the same model next available model or even a comparable model. I have been instructed to box it all up and mail it away for a lousy "gift card" at their store that will not replace what I had for the money I spent. Customer satisfaction is "Not their store policy"! I have bought a lot from Best Buy over the years but will take my business elsewhere.
Cost me a lot of money with Telus just going to look at phones. Pretty shaddy sales tactics on Best Buy's part! I wish this was still Future Shop with its original staff before the change over. But nope. Locked all those guys out without notice and fired them! Shaddy company and even worse location!

I went to see if they were open to activate a phone as they were during the last time we were in the red zone, just not when we had the stay at home order and when I tried to ask a question the girl at the door just kept cutting me off instead of letting me finish. The prices here are competitive...but.....the service was a bit shady...it seemed like guy and girl that were supposed to be helping me with my smart watch screen protector just sold me some junk that fell off 2 days later, it was easy to get my money back but they should have just told me to begin with that " they don't have the proper products" instead of telling me it was the right screen protector and charging me 33 bucks, to have it fall off and me drive all the way back to kamloops Best Buy and finally one guy actually told the truth and gave me some good info. This is a very small Best Buy, the entrance is hard to find and Google maps takes us to the car dealership on the road behind Best Buy. Sales help did not exist although it was not busy, we did not buy what we went there for and found they items at a lower cost with another company online. Very disappointing.

I wish there was a 0 star rating. I went to the Kamloops BC store to find a Fossil watch, a present for a special occasion. They had none instore (no surprise at all! They never have popular items) I ordered the item at the service desk and was told that it would be about 2 to 5 days for delivery ( the time frame was the same for home delivery) I got an email saying that it had been ordered and that I would be notified when the item was shipped. 3 days later I received an email saying that my order would be delivered on February 26... later than I wanted but still workable. The following day I went online to track my parcel and it stated March 1 as the date. I contacted the online customer service chat and explained the issue to them, the service representative looked into my order and said " we can assure you that your order will be there by February 26" so I asked if this was a guarantee, NOPE NOT AT ALL. This has ruined the whole gift and when I explained this, the service representative said sorry you can have $20.00 off your next order.... Like I'd ever do this again! Update: I never did receive my parcel. 3 months later I had to go to the store and get my refund. MY ADVICE IS TO CHECK OUT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU BEFORE ORDERING. Geek squad protection biggest waste of money and major frustration! Bring a lap top in 3 times for re paid under manufacturers warranty and the tried time geek squad mailed in back to me delivery left it out side my garage doors while it was raining and didn't return my charger!! When I asked what I paid for geek squad for I assumed it was a no lemon policy however I was very wrong! I home school my children being with out our laptop over and over for weeks on end isn't what I call qualify and when asked for a store manager to call you back they don't! Bought a new TV and picked up via curbside. Process was pretty painless, unfortunate that you can't actually see products before you buy but, that's the new world we live in. All in all good experience and will be back.

Went in during the pre-black Friday sale. Was sent to 3 different locations of the store to find the order I had reserved for in-store pickup. What should have taken 15-20 minutes in a busy store took an hour. The only saving grace was that a single employees (Ryan) found the items we had ordered and got us checked out quickly. I wish the other 3 employees I interacted with were as compitent as that guy. If it is busy be prepared for some logistics issues.
After trying to purchase a play pen with my visa debit card and not having it be accepted I had to resort to having a family member order it for me using his visa. I sent a direct link to the exact play pen (AND COLOUR) only to have the wrong colour sent to me. I contacted them via phone explaining this and all they could offer was for me to have my family member forward the receipt he got via email and bring his visa to return it. That would be great if my grandfather wasn't currently bed ridden with pneumonia and close to death. So now I am stuck with a play pen I don't want and am very upset about this purchase. VERY DISAPPOINTED, will not be buying from here again!

last week i purchased a new Haier 110 volt drier for our park model home , which had to be brought in from the Ontario store . after taking a closer look at the unit on the net, i realized it would not mount on top of our samsung washer, so i went up to the aberdeen store and spoke to the salesman . BILL.. he said he would try to find me a stacker assembly to mount it & apparantlly there is none. so today after being notified by Purolater couriers that it was at there holding store in kamloops , i drove to the Best Buy store and talked to a person in charge & explained to him, what had happened & they completely reimbursed me the full amount inc taxes. Bill was off today with the flu. Thanks Folks for the excellent service & I will be shopping there again

Best-buy is quite an interesting place, large amount of time I visit employee's approach me for any assistance I require. Most of the time during my visits employee's will question anything that I might purchase, giving their opinion or thought into possibly disliking the product. Where that would be helpful for most, it can be very miss-leading for people set on wanting to buy a product and not giving secondary options. I miss Future-Shop where it was commission based. Felt the employee's then were more in-tune with things.

Salesperson were very attentive and very helpful with all my questions. Tried really hard to figure out what I should do and then gave me several alternatives with prices etc. Also no pressure to buy but gave me the opportunity to go and think things over before making up my mind which would be the best for me.

BAD EXPERIENCE with MANAGER called ANDREA, as representative ready to proceed with order with price adjustment, system giving error message. long story...., bought an upright freezer end on Nov 2020...took forever to come in and no call or email it had arrived at store for pick up ....store does not take phone calls which would have 100% eliminated all the headaches I had trying to locate this freezer ...I did online chat, emails like suggested with one generic response and none afterwards...even after sending multiple ...5 days to receive a response is ridiculous even during covid ...finally got someone on the phone through the 1800 number after about 3 weeks...he finally figured out I had to go in store as I an employee ordered for me online and my info didn't match what he could find...even though that info was given in all my communications that an employee did the ordering...so went to see the guy doing curbside and the freezer was there...this was end of Feb2021 early March...don't know how long it sat there as the guy didn't answer me at pick up .. so I get it home...open it and it was dented on the front ....I was going to keep it but you pay big money for appliances so I decided to try for an exchange ....fast forward to March 20, 2021I went in store to exchange ... Now this was a fabulous experience...I dealt with JASON and he was great from start to finish for the exchange ( in which I ended up upgrading so they made more money lol ) It was quick and easy and we got delivery worked out... now they don't know who is out sourced for delivery which is also frustrating ...they told me dates could be changed when the company calls to book delivery as per info they have...today March24, 2021 I receive an automated message for delivery tomorrow between certain times, I will be at work ...I called the 1866 number to get a customer service representative who can't be helpful because all she can do is send an email to whatever company it is and request a change , and they want dates for the next 7 days , all of which I work... so now I am frustrated again waiting for an email, and hoping they don't show up tomorrow as it is a delivery and pick up of damaged model...plus I need to bring food elsewhere to be stored ... there are a lot of gaps in being able to communicate effectively with best buy...

This particular visit I went in for the express purchase of a Bluetooth headset for my cell phone. Normally they don't have an issue with price matching other vendors in Canada, however this time around I was given grief because I was trying to price match something on Amazon. The customer service representative behind the counter arms crossed in front of her stated that because the item had the marking that it was acceptable to Prime that it was not acceptable to price match because it was a special discounted price. I even showed them that there was no discounted price and that was the regular price it doesn't show anything about a "You save $x.xx" and that there were other vendors that were selling for the same price. It took my request to speak with a manager three different times before the manager came over agreed that the price match was legitimate and processed my transaction

My faith in customer service has been restored after my experience at the Kamloops location Best buy. A laptop I ordered was shipped in and to my unfortunate surprise the screen was damaged! So I brought it back that same day a little worried that they may not honor my word about the damage. Thankfully the geek squad/best buy employees, Michael and Brandon, were more than accommodating. The original laptop I bought happened to be out of stock so I couldn't replace it, but instead they helped me find another one, which was a bit more expensive, and made efforts to compensate for the alternate outcome. I am so pleased with the service I received. I dealt with Michael and Brandon in the geek quad department, and Summer at the front desk. Such amazing employees, thank you so much!

This was posted on 2018. Great location and super friendly people Went back here to get a new cell phone. Dealt with Zach he was absolutely amazing. Setting up my phone went over closing hours of the store and he didn't even mention anything about staying late. He was very knowledgeable and helpful going through all the different options. I will definitely go back to him if I need anything else.

I made my last purchase at Future Shop forever...customer service is terrible, if you want to call it customer service. Purchased a laptop, but was out of stock on the home and office Microsoft pkg, but told me it would come in and honor the $99.99 sale price later on. Today they no longer will have the 2010 version but I can buy the 2013 version for $129.99. Since when do stores promise something they cannot no longer stock and their only solution is to sell you something else at a greater price. Future shop should at least provide me with the 2013 at $99.99 as it was promised 30 days ago.... NEVER GOING BACK!!!

We went to this store today to get information on the new Apple watch 7 and iPhones. The salesman Nicholas L was outstanding to say the least. He knew how to explain all our questions regarding both products and was extreemly patiant with us and our lack of tech knowlage. We appreciated all the time he took to explain all the functions of the devises and we ended up buying both items we went in to research Great team member and deserves much praise.

This is one place that wont get any business from my husband and I. We went to this store this afternoon, hoping to do some shopping. There was a young employee sitting at the door on his phone, he didnt look up or get a greeting from him. We then walked over to the appliances, we were wanting to purchase a washer and dryer. We walked around that area for about 10 min with no one coming to see if we needed help. We spotted 2 young men at the check out counter, one on their phone another watching the football game. We stood there another 5 min or so to see if they would come to help us but they were too "busy" We headed toward the door and looked down an isle and saw another employee on his phone leaning against the end of a counter and yet 2 more young girls at the customer service desk at the exit again on ther phones. It's pretty sad when you cant get any help because everyone is too "busy"

I had the most AMAZING customer service experience yesterday, I went to the mall to price out new phones. I checked a few places, and went into to Best Buy mobile to ask what my options would be, explained my phone wasn't working properly and Lucas asked if he could take a look at it. After trying a few things it still would not go back on line, Mike another wonderful guy finished serving another customer took a look at it and was able to get my phone working :) Lucas and Mike did not have to help me at all, the BEST service is being who you are, KIND and HONEST people. When I do have get a new phone it will be from one of these two gentlemen. Best Buy is lucky to have you both !

Looking to buy a Nikon camera that day. Had 2 salesmen and neither of them had time to tell me about the cameras. Decided to buy the one on display. Then they told me it was out of stock. They talked about another one...it was only "$100. more. I asked if I could see that camera and they said oh we arent allowed to take them out of the box. There was none on display but they were upselling it. They would not even let me look at it. Needless to say we walked away and bought a pricier one at another camera shop the next day. That was a $600 to $700 loss to your company. Good work guys.
Wasted time picking a Switch out and add-ons, plus games only to be told that they had none in stock. This was after someone helping me get it all picked out. Was told at the counter that they havnt had any in awhile.

Are customers important? Our 6 year old microwave oven bit the dust, so I only checked Can Tire, Teppermans, and Best Buy. It just so happened that they had one that fit the bill; size, colour, price point, and the young gentleman was of superior help. So then and there the deal was hatched.

Placed an order for curbside pickup and it was ready to get within an hour of my purchase online. The young man brought it to my car but it wouldn't fit, he tried 3-4 times to get it to fit and also removed the packaging to try again.... A stranger offered to transport my package to my address, his name was Roland the angel!! Needless to say everyone I encountered staffwise was willing to go above and beyond to help me. Thanks for the STELLAR customer service!! And to Roland the kind man who helped me too ????
Decent enough place to grab a TV if it is on crazy sale but if you're looking for cables and adapters for your PC or Laptop you're going to be paying between 3 and 4 times the market price. That's if they're in stock at all. That and every time I go in browsing somebody tries to sell me an overpriced computer with crappy specs. When I tell them I'm an IT professional they immediately get annoyed, realize they won't make a sale with me and stop helping me even though I am actually looking for a specific item. Generally, I only go in when my boss runs out of stock and we need something desperately for a client. Otherwise I avoid this place.

I am a frequent shopper of best buy in Orillia and Barrie Ontario . I also shop best buy online all the time, spending lots of money. While shopping for a television yesterday I could not find anyone to help me with questions I had about the latest Television technology. There were a dozen or more staff associates at the front of the store in a large clump socializing and laughing. As I stood there looking for someone to assist me the laughter and socializing continued . I looked at Tvs while and tried to do my own research for 45 minutes. And nobody assisted me. Staff more concerned with talking with there friends. Not working. No incentive to help anybody .

The boys on the counter are beyond helpful in finding you the best deal and for advice on anything phone wise I don't have to mention anyone specific because every single person that works there is always fantastic to me. Pleasantly surprised at the prompt service - Ryan at Geek Squad was awesome! They didn't have the computer I wanted in stock - but it was ordered and arrived within 2 days.
Staff was very kind and polite. Will help out anybody whose not sure what they are after specifically in certain electronics. They will also give u differences between brand new electronics and older ones as well as amount of storage and what version is best for you if you aren't. So whether it's the one in Orillia or Barrie I would say check out both for TVs, Electronics, video game systems, movies or DVDs!!

I called This store in Orillia to verify they have an red iPhone 7 in stock for me,verified the price of $899 plus tax, wanted to get it without changing my current fido plan, they said it'll wait for me and I can come to get it, I live in Vaughan, an hour drive each way to this store. Came to get it this phone and price went to be $1029 plus tax, while every other iPhone7 128gb still $899. The manager on duty refused to match the price of other iPhones claiming the colour makes it higher price tag, while also saying all the Best Buy iPhone pricing is set by apple. Apple never sold iPhones for different price just for colour, yes model and memory size! They refused to sell me the phone on the original price, even when they saw same iPhone sales at Source for $896 claiming there is no stock for it there. Wasted another hour in store explaining their mistake, instead of selling the iPhone for for the correct price they offered a disconnected iPhone case for 50$ Very disappointed, felt like an employees didn't like to make a sale of $900 phone with extended warranty. Future shop is out, as so many other big guys, Best Buy will be next with this kind of customer service. BAD SERVICE!
Name brand electronics at reasonable prices
I would give less stars if possible. I will never purchase anything from them again. Bought a laptop. It got damaged. Returned it as instructed with the adapter. That was in mid May. Called Geek Squad mid July and they had to check. Received it back July 24. No adapter.. called Geek Squad twice trying to get an adapter returned. Finally on Oct 4th called corporate Best Buy. Then received an email saying executive customer service was checking on it. Email received saying they didn't receive the adapter back. Why would I be bothering them if I had the adapter? No response. Called corporate again on October 14. Still no response back. Tried to call the store. No local number. Left info with customer service rep who is emailing the store and they will get back to me within the next couple of days. Lousy way to run a business. I will never shop there again.
Needed a new phone. Went to Telus and had terrible customer service. Wanted to upgrade my phone and the rep told me to go online and never helped me at all. Went to Best Buy in the mall and had amazing service. They took the time and went through all the plans that would fit my needs. They even managed to call in to Telus and get a better price for me. Would never again deal withTelus directly to buy a new phone, Best Buy was far less stressful and a thousand times more helpful.

Bought a computer here, was ignored for about the first 45 minutes standing there looking for someone.
They need to update their computer systems. We went in to purchase TVs for our workplace, already had the ID numbers and everything ready. It still took more than 30 minutes to checkout since only a more "seasoned" employee could order the tvs, two different stations in the store rejected the order before being able to complete it fully at the front till (probably should of started there). Last comment that really made the experience "top notch" was the employees saying several times they wouldn't have space to store the TVs as they came in....like ordering 8 TVs at once was an inconvenience. Recommend buying elsewhere if possible
Christine was an awesome associate. she by far was the most knowledgeable in the store. She genuinely loves her job . This was my third visit as in as many days to view the computers and she more than answered all my questions and sealed the deal with her expertise. Nothing bad to say about the Kamloops store specifically. In fact, anytime they had what I wanted in stock it was never a problem. I phoned to try and reschedule a delivery, but the phone customer service just told me no. I asked what else I could do but again was told I wasn't allowed to reschedule or change the address. The phone call quality was also terrible. I guess that's what you expect when you're talking to someone on the other side of the world.

There have been a number of changes since the move from being Future Shop. There seems to be a relaxing of the atmosphere in the store. The staff does continue to be helpful.

I can’t say enough about the outstanding service that I received from the service desk at Best Buy Orillia. The tech that helped me went above and beyond to address the issues that I had with my 4 year old sound bar, and ultimately offered me a deep discount on a new sound bar. I especially appreciated the quick decision making. There was no standing around waiting to get multiple approvals from a gaggle of managers. The new one works perfectly, and on a scale of 2 thumbs he scores 2 thumbs up!!! I am most definitely a happy customer!

Live 1000 ft outside of Orillia and no wired or fibre internet and using a hot spot that is dropping out. Installed second ssd hard drive and checked on upgrading ram. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful.

Very disappointed in the staffing situation at this location. Only 1 person at the cell phone area on Black Friday weekend sale (Monday), went in 3 different times to buy a new phone and waited well over 45 mins each time until we left in frustration. Definitely won’t be going back here in the future, guess we’ll take our money elsewhere. If your in the market for a new phone do yourself a favor and go somewhere that has more then 1 person “capable” of helping!
Unethical business practices, a pre-recorded phone loop if you attempt to contact the store (disgusting), refused to provide a replacement to my faulty air condition under the extended 2 year warranty, repeatedly lied regarding a resolution (promised repair and temp replacement my brand new air conditioner that only functioned for 2 days, but did not fulfil their promise), management that have been stripped of power and authority by head office to resolve complaints, a head office that does not provide a means of communication with the managers other than email that are only addressed in 5 business days, virtually no quality assurance on their own signature brand Insignia (stopped functioning in two days and a phone agent expressed that this was known, but not resolved). My experience with Best Buy customer service was absolutely appalling. In my opinion, this company's disgusting approach to saving money has completing removed any and all customer service even with the extended warranty. I would highly suggest never purchasing anything from this corrupt, unethical and immoral organization. To submit this review, I was forced to select 1 star or it would not allow me to post, I would not even have given them one star.
Came in right as in-store shopping opened. Great effort on the team to get things back to 'normal' for shopping. Staff were courteous and following safety protocols. The stock was low throughout the store but hopefully this will pick up as more traffic shifts from pickup to browsing in-store.

Matt and Edith at Future Shop Kamloops went above and beyond to supply a warranty washing machine to replace the existing machine in our home. The contact we had was excellent and the understanding of our problem was solved by the staff and delivery people. We have made many prpurchases at Future Shop and we'll continue to deal with the Kamloops store. Kudos. Keep up the good service.

My 18 month old fridge that I purchased at Best Buy failed. They wanted nothing to do with me. Yes, it's a manufacturers warranty but seeing as you sold it to me and profited off of it, it would be nice to at least offer some help. Then there was the range that I purchased only to find out later it was on back order and it took about 4 tries to actually pick it up after I was repeatedly given a date to come pick it up only to find out from obviously confused staff that they couldn't find it... I won't be making any major purchases at "Best" Buy anymore.

Updated review... Went back to Best Buy today, looking for a TV. The young guy that helped me was very helpful. He mentioned what the sale prices typically are for the TV's I was looking at. He mentioned they aren't on commission which was noticeable, since he wasn't pushy and was focused on my needs. Not like the Brick where they want you to get ripped off to benefit them. Good chance I'll be returning here when there are better sales on the TV I was looking at.

First tried Walmart for a Chromecast . Sold out and not one person around to help me. Walked into best buy, not only was I greeted at the door, but I had a guy help me immediately find what I was looking for. Bunch of teenagers running the place. I was searching for new headphones, and was approached by a kid maybe in his early 20’s, kind of chubby, with glasses, telling me that I’m not allowed to try headphones on due to lice issues. Why is there the option to try them on then? And the option to listen to music through them? After he rudely told me off, he continued to try and sell me random headphones I wasn’t even interested in that were above the price range I told him (likely so he could get commission). When I asked his opinion on some brands, the best he could say was “yeah they’re pretty good” or “they’re not the best these are better!” But couldn’t provide any reasons behind his beliefs. I ended up buying headphones purely based off of a YouTube review I watched in the store because mid conversation the kid kept walking off to go talk to fellow staff members and would come back and carry on our conversation minutes later. He walked off to talk with staff probably three times, and the fourth he never returned, leading me to get reviews from videos off YouTube.

I asked for a manager to help me answer some questions about a google home that I wanted to buy for my girlfriend, the manager was super impatient and seemed almost offended he had to answer my questions like I was wasting his time....?? I asked the customer service department how it would work to finance an Apple Watch and an apple laptop, this woman frantically pushed an advertisement in front of my face and said to follow its instructions and walked away...??? All their prices are online, their customer service is LAUGHABLE. Just buy whatever they have online instead of in store and save yourself the headache lol. It’s the only big Best Buy in Kamloops and they act like they are gods gift. Total joke.

Went to purchase a Victrola player which had a boxing day sale tag on it. However; the salesman said they havent had that item in since Black Friday. Asked to see if any nearby stores might have it. Said both London Locations were sold out. Drove home 40 min away, jumped online to search for the item and stores that might have it. I did find one.
