The guy here is a moron. Never use him. I would not say this about anyone unless I truly ment it. I have been a costumer here previously to get a British passport size photo without issue. Only a strange conversation where he told me about his Chihuahua not liking being in the rain!? On my latest visit I required a British Size photo for my son and a Canadian for myself. It was cold and wet outside I burst into the shop as I wanted to escape the weather. With my 7 week year old boy in my arms. My boy was sound asleep. He had not been feeding well and this was the first time he had gone to sleep. I ask him if he could take the photo of my boy. He said he could but the child would have to be awake. I then informed him that for a baby less than on year old applying for a British passport there was no requirement for it to have it eyes open. So as a paying customer I would just like him to take the photo with the child asleep. And that I could provide him with the requirements page I had left in the car outside. He refused. And said that is his only rule that he must see the child awake. Which I could understand. so I questioned. He spat out some nonsense about in 50 years of taking photos he has seen parents beat their children!!!! Trying to wake them!!! If that was true why is his policy to wake them. And why isn't he informing the police about such matters. I questioned him again, this time outraged as I wasn't sure he was trying to suggest something about myself and my child. On this to which he didn't even bother giving me the same weak pathetic excuse, murmuring that it was his only rule. I was only at this point did I start to loose my temper with the guy. Who I then thanked for wasting my time. As it was 3pm the start of rush hour and I didn't have the time to drive all over the city to find another photographer that could take a British passport size photo. This guy is absolute idiot. And the whole process should have been as easy as going click and having a quick and easy transaction. But he had to make it a horrible interaction, one that I will be telling everyone I know in this city about. I would never go back to this guy again and I would strongly advise anyone else from give him your custom. He has terrible interpersonal skills and a very strange manner. I would go to Wallmart if you need a passport photo. Although they do not have the correct back ground for a British passport photo. So I'm still having to find another photographer.

Would recommend! Gary was professional, funny, and welcoming. It was honestly a treat to visit his studio for the few minutes we were there. On top of being efficient and friendly, the walls filled with gorgeous, colorful artwork were a feast for the eyes.

High price and outrageously rude attitude I visited this place this afternoon and encountered so far the worst service I have encountered during my four years stay in Halifax. I traveled 30 minutes to arrive at this place around 1pm; one old male photographer served me. The whole experiences lasted less than 30 seconds. The conversation goes like this (I try to keep the content as austenitic as possible, I can’t recite every single words but I won’t add or omit anything intentionally.) : Me: Hello, how much is a passport photo? He: 14.xx + tax which amounts to 17.xx. Me: OK… Do I get a digital copy? He: No. Me: But I… He: Have a nice day. Then he stared at me and asked me to leave. The fog on my glasses hasn’t even faded yet. He didn’t allow me to finish my sentences. He assumed I won’t do any business with him and wanted me to leave as soon as possible. I was stupefied by his rude attitude and left there in anger and confusion. Ironically, I don’t even need a digital copy at all. I guessed this might be the common practice in this business so I didn’t expect to receive a digital copy in the first place. I asked that question purely to try my luck. I can even tolerate the high price which is much higher than any friends of mine have told me. I mean if it can save me a trip to Wal-Mart, I don’t mind a few extra dollars. However he wanted to conclude this experience as soon as possible. I can’t think of any reason for him to treat me this way. I said nothing offensive since I barely had a chance to speak. From what I can see he is not particularly busy at that time since there was no customer there. With his attitude, I have a hard time to understand why there are any customers at all. This is the absolute the worst attitude I have encountered so far in Halifax. Any strangers I encountered on the street are much friendlier. It is not like I was nagging him or I don’t have any true intention to have my photo taken. He didn’t even allow me to finish my second question. What am I supposed to do? Hand him the money without even tell him my request? It is outrageous.

This guy is so full of himself. He doesnt have a good camera, he didnt edit my piccture and he was super rude on the phone, even worse when i went to his store. His studio isnt even professional. Just go to walmart for a picture, its gonna cost you extra $5 but at least people will talk to you nicely than this c ranky old guy!

Don’t have wifi, net, you won’t be able to get soft copy. I went to get passport size pic and asked for soft copy, what I needed. He don’t have net to provide soft copy. I paid 18$ which is higher than regular price and then I couldn’t get soft copy. Completely old age service.

This guy can be extremely rude to you for no reason at all. I was asking him for the price of a passport photo. Before I can finish my sentence, he interrupted me and asked me to leave. What have I done deserve such treatment? I walked 20 mins to this place and I was out before I even finish my first sentence. It is not like he was very busy, there were no other customers. By looking at the review, this is not a coincidence. This guy just can be an A-hole if somehow he doesn’t like you.

I can admit I was not looking forward to getting my passport renewed and seeing how much I aged in 5 years. I went to Shoppers Drug Mart and just as I feared...oily forehead, bags under eyes, eyes half closed from flash, pale complexion etc... HORRIBLE PICTURE So I try this guy despite the negative reviews and he definitely knows what he's doing. The lighting is perfect and he uses a flash after the photo is taken so no eye squint. My pale complexion was tan, skin perfect! Actually looks better than my pic 5 years ago!! I think people should give this guy a break. Yah he's a bit cranky as in if you ask how's your day he might say "it will be better when its over"...lol which I find humorous. Smile at him, be nice and it will brighten his day a little :)
