I attended the Photo Cuba 2016 workshop run by Trina, and I was very impressed with how well it was organized, the quality of the instruction, the friendliness and support of Trina's team, and the ability to be with real Cubans to understand the culture. It was an excellent experience overall. Why do a review now, five months later? Because Trina keeps the Cuban connection and photography continuing even after the workshop. I just attended a get-together for our Cuban contact who happened to be visiting Canada, and we had a chance to review our gallery prints for an exhibition to be held in Cuba, again organized by Trina. Usually with other photo workshops, the only ongoing connection is information about the next workshop, but with Trina, it's almost like becoming part of the workshop family, so the participants get a whole lot more than just photo instruction. Trina and Brynley captured our wedding day perfectly. We were looking for a basic photo package to document our special day. Trina went through the different packages, one which included a hard covered book. We looked at sample books, and thought that's not for us, but after discussing how we wanted to remember the day, we changed our minds. How does a photographer take a blustery day with a family of four very average-looking people and create a work of art? We approached TKP in the fall of 2019 to have family photos done. At Trina’s recommendation, the location for our photos was The Arboretum in Guelph. She worked tirelessly to tease out some lovely moments between the four of us, including our two dogs! During our review session, we landed on a photo that captured the essence of our family – relaxed, laughing – and we chose to have the photo enlarged and framed. Trina worked with us throughout the process, helping to guide our vision of the final product and how it fit in with ‘us’ as a family. When the final framed portrait arrived, my husband was stunned. I reached out to Trina back in the summer of 2020 to have some professional headshots taken at her studio. I have thought long and hard about what I'd like to say in my review, as I've been very disappointed in the photos we received of our wedding, and am surprised by the other five-star reviews. We hired a professional photographer for our wedding, rather than asking family and friends, in order to have quality photos of our day. I expected that the photos I received would be in-focus, level, have minimal lens distortion, and follow general composition principles. This wasn't the case with our photos, and I have spent roughly 8 hours attempting to correct them myself (although you can't correct for a photo not being in focus). There were also a couple key moments that were missed, and the instructions we gave in our consultation appointment were not completely followed. Ultimately, we didn't get what we felt we paid for (as there are many cheaper photographers out there).

Beyond the confidence inspired byTrina's experience and exceptional professionalism, I enjoyed working with Casey who brought an energy that encouraged me to be myself. Casey experimented with lights, camera settings and poses and the results surpassed anything I had anticipated. Choosing a photographer was very overwhelming, and quite frankly a hassle, until we met Trina. She’s so professional and communicates so well.
