I was initially attracted to John David Photography after hearing good reviews from other students about the quality of their service (and because cheaper sitting fees means I have money for lunch). I also like to support local businesses, so I thought I'd give them a shot. John David is clearly passionate about his work, and it really shows up in the quality of the pictures he takes. The sitting was quick and professional, and John was cordial without sacrificing efficiency. He has a great team put together, and would be my first choice for portrait or event photography in Antigonish.

Coming into 2018 I knew I would be graduating and I was struggling on deciding whether or not to get a Grad portrait due to my previous high school one that im not very fond of. When I heard John David was coming to my university (Cape Breton University, a little distance from Antigonish) I jumped the gun and said what's the worst that can happen? John David and Eleanor were an absolute pleasure to work with. They made sure I was well taken care of, were patient with my million questions and having my portrait taken felt like a fun afternoon with a friend. John David is comedic and friendly and made me feel so comfortable infront of a camera that way. If you're ever looking for photos they should be your first stop. I recieved a grad photo I love & one im proud to share with friends and family.

I can't say enough good things about John! This was my first time having professional pictures done and to say I was nervous is an understatement! I almost canceled a few times and only went because my parents insisted on graduation pictures and I figured if it was horrible, I was only booked in for 45 minutes so it wouldn't be too long. It was the opposite of what I expected, he quickly made me comfortable and relaxed and the 45 minutes flew by. He is clearly very talented and you don't have to worry about anything, he tells you what to do and when to do it.

By far the best photographer I have ever worked with!! I am a makeup artist from Toronto, Ontario and picked the east coast as our wedding destination and was so happy with the lead up to our big day. John spoke with my husband and I for over an hour on the phone while we were in Toronto prepping to come to Nova Scotia. We felt like we knew him for years already! On the day of we had the worst weather none to man but John made it work and the photos came out so beautifully and intensely you wouldn't know we were in the middle of a monsoon! John and his team were so nice he even offered to take us out to shoot at Sunrise a couple of days later so we would get our desired beach shots without us even asking. Such a stand-up guy! Elenor keeps everything very organized and easy when it comes to behind the scenes. All together one of the best parts of our wedding was spending alone time together as a couple while John was shooting us, we felt extremely comfortable. Not only did he make everyone feel at ease with his easy going and positive attitude but he brought I personal touch of kindness with him. John David was one of two photographers I had photograph my wedding on August 6, 2016 in Toney River, Nova Scotia, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about John David and how everything turned out!! Prior to the wedding I was able to meet with him and he was so enthusiastic about everything, which made me so excited to work with him. He was very attentive during the weeks beforehand, which is always encouraging with so much going on leading up to the wedding. On the actual day of the wedding John David and Fallon showed up and got snapping right away, it was great to capture some of those more casual moments! I 100% trusted him with everything, and I was so glad I did! His vision was unbelievable, and we got some amazing shots in one area with so many different backgrounds, which meant not a lot of time travelling back and forth to places and that was so great!! I honestly felt like I never had to worry about moments being captured, I trusted John David 100%! Now that I have received all of the photos I am THRILLED!!! They all turned out absolutely amazing and I am so thankful for his attention to detail, and how much time and effort he put into making the pictures look awesome, I go back and look at them constantly!! The other photographer I had was Fallon Conway, and the combination of these two was truly unbelievable! Because each photographer had their unique style I got the best variety of pictures I could ever ask for!! John David is an amazing photographer, and I would recommend him to anyone for any sort of shoot, but specifically for a wedding, he was fantastic!!
