I recently did an urban styled wedding shoot with Tyra, her husband Braylan and her associate Trinity in downtown Fort St. John. It was a BLAST. I was a little hesitant at first as my real wedding was 2 years ago and I am currently in my second trimester of pregnancy, but the dress fit and they all made it so enjoyable that I completely forgot about the fatigue and the cravings. They were even able to capture so many different angles where my belly was completely hidden but without even being hidden- genius! They were able to pose us and style us and we didn’t have to worry about a single thing all day. They also made it so fun and relaxed that even though the style was out of our normal comfort zones, the end result photos were some of our favorites of all time (including from our actual wedding day)! They are so enthusiastic and so invested in what they do that it shows in their actions and attitudes all day long (and forever after). They truly care not just about the photos and the video but about each client as an individual, couple, and/or family and it’s felt. I felt more confident being in photos than I think I ever have been! Thank you all for creating such a fun and positive atmosphere and such an incredible and memorable day.

I don’t even know where to start! I want to start by saying Tyra is one of the most kind, patient, and all around supportive people I have had the privilege of learning from in my life. Tyra took me on for my University Work Experience week which is a huge undertaking and she did this while she was making a huge transition from part time to full time photography. My mentorship took place during her last week at her then day job and she was gracious enough to take me on despite that and was genuinely excited to do so. During my mentorship, I learned so much from Tyra. I was in my last year of school for photography at the time, and I had no idea how much I still had to learn. The real world experience that Tyra gave me is so valuable and I think about it every time I interact with my clients. Not only did I learn to pose and direct couples and individuals, I also learned how to be brave. Watching Tyra confidently ask our models to hop up onto their partners shoulders (and our models did it!!) made me realize that if you don’t ask the answer will always be no. I learned so much about how Tyra connects with her clients right from the first inquiry to the delivery of their galleries. And she was so open with me too, Any question I could ever think to ask her, she happily and excitedly answered. It was so clear that she cared about my success and wanted me to have an amazing time. I live in a big city now and with the skills I learned from Tyra I am lucky enough to work with many amazing photographers on a regular basis. Still to this day I’d say by far the best mentorship experience I have had is with Tyra. The amount of time and energy she has dedicated to my education is unreal, and without her support and the amazing experience she gave me, I am certain I would not be where I am today!

TYRA IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My boyfriend and I recently modelled for a Urban Styled Wedding Shoot with Tyra E Photography and Film! We were nervous going into the shoot as we are not married and will be walking around our home town in wedding attire hahah. However, we were beyond excited because Tyra E is known to be one of the most incredible photographers there is and her outgoing, friendly and kind personality can make any experience memorable. It was definitely a memorable Sunday; I’ve never been in front of a professional camera before but Tyra, her husband Braylan and assistant Trinity ensured we felt comfortable with music playing, vibrant energy, laughs, pizza, drinks and more. Tyra is incredibly creative as she 100% styled us with outfits, hair, makeup, posing, locations and lighting. I would specify but you HAVE to go see for yourself. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN AND SO UNIQUE! The results… INCREDIBLE. We’ve only seen a handful of photos and a 20sec video and are already in AWE over how amazing they are at photography. GO BOOK WITH TYRA E PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILM; I promise, from styling, to shooting, to results, it was an amazing and fun day; completely out of our comfort zone and keepsake photos for life. Lastly, I want to make note of Tyra's passion for photography, she is so excited over everything... every pose, every angle, every smile, every style, every occasion. This shoot was to show their clientele a new and different side to wedding styles and that just goes to show they 100% committed to bettering their business and are eager to continue to share with everyone Tyra's incredible talent, creativity, style ideas and most importantly her love for photography. A photography session with Tyra is truly an investment. She's not the least expensive photographer in the area but you truly get what you pay for. She has the ability to help even the most camera shy people have a blast in front of the lense. Her way of posing people is so natural looking, her instructions and vision is so clear. (Her passion projects are an excellent example of this) She really takes the time to genuinely get to know each client, this shows in her pictures which seem to capture personality. She goes above and beyond to support her clients before, during, and after a session. Its remarkably empowering to see yourself through the eyes of a woman who sees the beauty in each individual. I recently got my newborn photos done by Tyra. My husband and I are very pleased with these photos. Tyra did an amazing job editing them. I found her flexible for time which is really nice with a newborn. I also think it's cool that she does not watermark her photos. I highly recommend her for high quality photos!

I brought Tyra to my destination wedding in Mexico and I was so thankful I brought her instead of using the one the resort provided! Tyra took pictures that were more 'us'. We found the resort photographer took very 'typical destination' photos, and they looked more staged. We had to use the resort photographer they provided (or else there was a big fee), but they allowed for Tyra to take some as well. We ended up liking Tyras' photos a lot more anyways so I am very thankful I had her!

I don't even know where to begin! Our day would have not been the same without Tyra, Braylan and Trinity! They weren't just another vendor you book for your wedding day, its like asking a group of friends to come hang out with you and while they are at it they take incredible photos! Being like every other bride out there - you Pinterest your life away, hoping to get photos that come close to Pinterest goals one day - and that's exactly what we got ! Spending time with them is so fun and care free you completely forget your getting pictures taken - they know how to make you feeling comfortable, have fun and smile and laugh naturally so when you look back you know exactly how you were feeling in that moment! My husband is not a big fan of photos in general - and he said time with them was painless and so much fun - we do not have a single photo of him without a natural smile on his face! Between Tyra washing my dress in a sink before having to walk down the aisle to taking any ideas I had for photos - she took everything to the next level and it was very easy to trust that everything she was doing! I look forward to a lifetime of looking back on our photos and watching our teaser film and getting that feeling of love, and happiness over and over again. I am so grateful to had them capture our special day as well as our engagement photos and am hoping to reconnect with them in the future! Anyone can take a picture but it takes a professional to take a photograph and that is exactly what you are getting with Tyra!

I HIGHLY recommend Tyra E Photography & Film!! Covid changed all our wedding plans and I am extremely grateful for that! We were originally going to get married in Mexico and cancelled early 2021. I immediately contacted Tyra in hopes she could capture our special day in Osoyoos. The moment she told me they were available on June 30, I knew it was meant to be and I am obsessed with how it all turned out!! Tyra and Braylan not only make you feel comfortable but they make you feel like you've been friends forever. The day before the wedding they came to the resort and scouted out places to shoot, because of this on the wedding day it felt like Tyra had worked at Spirit Ridge before and our photos look like we went to SEVEN different locations!! Not only do I have a thousand photos to remember our day we also have a video. If you are on the fence about getting a video all I can say is DO IT! The day we got our gallery sent to us, all I could think while looking through all the photos is I am so grateful I got a video. Knowing every picture I looked at would come to life in a video made me so excited to watch it! The video was absolutely perfect and I could not hold back the tears! Everyone that has seen our video has told me they cried and could feel the love and happiness. I am so, so thankful for Tyra and Braylan and will continue to use them and recommend them!! Tyra and Braylan were an awesome team. They captured our day perfectly with amazing photos and a video. They were punctual, made many suggestions, took so many pictures, and gave the edited versions back quickly. We felt so comfortable in front of the camera on our wedding day and would highly suggest them. One of my favourite parts of the day was a suggestion by Tyra and Braylan. Once we arrived at our first photo destination, they told us to just talk about the ceremony while they set up and my new husband and I had time to debrief so that we could be more in the moment during the photos. If you want a power team for your wedding day Tyra and Braylan will blow your expectations right out of the water! Tyra was so accommodating booking our engagement shoot, and when we had coffee she was so invested and listening to every detail I spewed to her. The day of our wedding it was raining steady, not exactly what you want to see when you’ve dreamed of an outdoor wedding, but Tyra and Braylan took everything in stride and even made a pit stop to find clear umbrellas for us. The details and memories they captured of our day are absolutely incredible and we will cherish them forever!
